How in the world do you make a breakfast salad make sense?? Ask Kinfolk, because they have done it!! The Breaky Bowl is absolutely amazing! The dressing is great and compliments the eggs, hash browns and chicken to perfection! The biscuit breadcrumbs and fresh Parmesan provided the most elegant touch! Service was great and it’s always a good vibe here!!! The pecan sticky bun with cream cheese was amazing as well. The coffee is ok, but I will tolerate it because everything else was top notch!! What a great way to bring some excitement to breakfast /brunch selections!

This place is number 1 on my breakfast list! My waiter was amazing, she made sure I had everything I needed and checked on me regularly. The atmosphere was amazing and the food knocked my socks off! The chicken biscuit was so good! The flavors combined perfectly the way the cheese melted perfectly with the eggs and the chicken had some kind of flavor sauce to it that made me want to slap my knee. Very good spot come by and enjoy the atmosphere and food you won't be disappointed

I LOVED the food!! It tasted amazing and so good the customer service was excellent!! The waitress was so friendly and sweet , the only thing is that the place is pretty small so it get quite packed and crowded and the since it is in downtown it is also pretty pricey but overall everything else was excellent!!

I enjoy trying new places to dine in Memphis! This is my first time here so I went with the recommended SAUSAGE BISCUIT with egg and cheese and their special sauce on the side. I also had a CEASAR SALAD with chicken. The biscuit was a little hard to me but if that’s what the standard is then it’s honestly okay. The salad was fresh and the type of chicken that was on it had a sweetness to it that I enjoyed! It’s nestled in a nice corner in Harbor Town and the service (and parking) worked out well!

An absolute delight! The staff is so kind and always on the move. The food is absolutely amazing! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. I love how they highlight their sources for meats, coffee, etc on their menu. They’ve made such a special place on Mud Island and it’s a must eat for visitors and locals alike!

We hit this spot for Sunday brunch, and the vibe was casual, laid-back, yet totally charming. It was packed, with people waiting outside, but luckily, we had a reservation. We kicked things off with coffee and mimosas, then waited a bit too long for the food. But when it arrived, the chicken biscuit and chicken biscuit sandwich were absolutely worth it—so good! The breakfast burrito, though, was a bit underwhelming. I wasn’t too hungry, so I went for a griddle cake—kind of like a pancake but with more texture. Served with maple butter and syrup, it had just the right amount of sweetness, and I loved every bite!

This restaurant is tucked away in Harbor Town. The atmosphere was great. There’s street parking around the building so hopefully your parallel parking skills are up to speed. If not, there’s a parking area a short distance away. Now the food was delicious😩 The chicken biscuit with the egg and cheese is made with a tender chicken thigh that just breaks apart with every bite. Note, this chicken biscuit can actually feed 2 people easily😮‍💨. The sausage balls were great. They give you options of sausage gravy, jam, and honey mustard. The sausage gravy took them to the next level. Overall I would recommend this place over and over again. Great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

First time for Kinfolk and it was well served👏🏽. The chicken sandwich was pretty big but delicious. The oatmeal was unique but tasty. I sat outside for the view and the set up was very nice😮‍💨🤝 everyone so friendly and there wasn’t a long wait time. The outside patio is connected to a tree and the birds 🦅 literally flies over your head and food. I will sit in the inside on my next visit 🤣

Yelp
TikTok made me do it! Kinfolk has been all over my feed, so I decided to make the trip--even though it's pretty out of the way for me. The vibe is super cute, with a cozy small-town diner aesthetic that definitely gives it charm. It was packed when I arrived, so I ended up getting my food to go. It did take quite a while for the order to be ready, which was a bit frustrating. I tried the hash browns, breakfast potatoes, and the chicken biscuit. Everything was good, but nothing really blew me away, especially considering the price point--it felt a bit steep for what you get. Overall, I'm glad I tried it! The ambiance and aesthetic are really inviting, and I can see why it's become a local favorite. Might be better enjoyed if you have time to dine in and soak up the full experience.

Yelp
The ambiance is a little crowded feeling, though there is barstool and patio seating. The service is slow... though there were few patrons it took at least/over 20 minutes for the server (to even visit me to bring water/beverage) to take my order and another/at least/over 20 plus minutes before I was served. The food is interesting and the chef accommodating of requests. I would not return. The $4 cup of mediocre coffee was never warmed/refilled. 70% of my order was To Go and (see above) service took forever. Yet, I was NOT warned/told (consider this your heads-up) but charged a 20% gratuity. T.I.P. means, To Insure Prompt service--nothing prompt about this service. And again(!!!) the majority of my bill was To Go/take out.

Yelp
The food is beautiful. I'm writing this while picking up my take out order. I'm watching the chef and he's checking every single food item himself before sending it out. The staff is kind and focused. It's a nice environment and a cute location. The griddle cakes are to die for (seriously) and everything else I've had there has tasted super fresh. This place deserves 5 stars and if you give it anything less you just need to go back and give them another chance.

Yelp
I saw all the great reviews and was so excited then I got there. Service was soooooo slow. Took more than 30 mins to get our food. other people got their food before us. Now the food, it was a bit pricey for ok food. The chicken biscuit was good but biscuit was a bit dry for me. The sausage balls felt overcooked. The breakfast bowl was too salty. A side of 3 bacon was 5 dollars.... The griddle was ok. Overall, a bit pricey. Def wouldn't intentionally make my way there. If I was in the area then maybe I'll go again. The Yoo-hoo mocha was meh.

Yelp
Oh my goodness! I have been wanting to dine at Kinfolk for months but didn't have the chance until this past Saturday. I went one time but it was too busy and to go was a no go that day. I was disappointed but was so HAPPY I got to try the food Saturday. The restaurant was very busy again so I got my order to go. I ordered online and waited for about twenty to thirty minutes. It was well worth the wait. I have seen pics of the inside and the decorations remind me of a nice diner. I will elaborate when I actually dine in. My food was AMAZING! I had the hot honey chicken sandwich on a buttery biscuit. The tangy sauce was on the side. The piece of chicken was huge. It is a chicken thigh breaded with a crunchy coating then fried. I believe the chicken is then marinated in the wonderful hot honey sauce. So tasty! I also had to try the oat pancakes. Those were very fluffy and tasted awesome with the unique butter and maple syrup. The oat flour is very smooth. I enjoyed the my food tremendously. I wanted to try the grits but they ran out. Will return on a week day at a very early hour before items run out. This place is far from my house so it might be a good thing. If I lived closer, I would be there more frequently. Check this place out! It is delish.

Yelp
I dig this place.... I really do.... I think the concept is pretty brilliant. I like the layout and interior design a lot and the covered patio between the buildings is just darn rad. It's like a souped up CK's. Menu is small and pretty simple. It seems to be getting smaller each visit actually. Biscuit sandwiches and a handful of other options available for breakfast, and a few more added at lunchtime. You can get breakfast all day. They are showing a meal on the online menu called the "MVP", which is exactly what I wanted on my last visit. This is still on the Kinfolk website as of today 10-14-24, but I was told that they didn't sell it any longer when I dined on 10-11-24. Now, if there were something you didn't have that was a part of that meal, I would understand telling me no, but all of it is all still available in other places on the menu. This is a pet peeve of mine.... Update your damn website! It's not that hard... Rant ended... Biscuits and gravy is freaking phenomenal! All the way. I got the most perfect sunny up egg I have ever had. Beautiful presentation, stupendous spicy sausage flavors, wild crunchy textures with the crumblyness of the biscuit, and the smoothness of a busted yolk to top it off. I could just stay right there in that bite forever if possible. Now that crumble I just spoke so highly of, hurts the biscuit sandwiches in my opinion. They kinda fall apart before you can eat it. You must be creative in your attack to get it in your mouth. I just give up and dunked what fell off in that beautiful jam of his. So it was still a win, plus I can use and knife and fork in a pinch if need be. Fried potatoes have Old Bay. If you like it, good! I warned you if you are that guy like me... I'll see your ass here soon!! '24 - 83/102

Yelp
Super cute, solid breakfast spot in Harbor Town! The inside looks like an old school southern diner with upscale food. They specialize in biscuit sandwiches, griddle cakes, and breakfast meats. They source local when possible - like the breakfast sausage from a local farm. Great, strong coffee. They have vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy free options (ex: oatmilk). There are a couple of beer and liquor drinks on the menu. The biscuits are delicious- slightly herbed and crumbly, with a sprinkle of sea salt. My breakfast plate came with jam and it was a great sweet/savory combination. The chicken biscuit came with a big hunk of fried chicken and hot honey. Perfectly crisp and juicy chicken! Food was flavorful and done well! Our server was super sweet and attentive. Their branding is cool too - check out their shirts, hats, and bags. Cheeky take on southern swag. 10/10, will definitely be back!

Yelp
**Kinfolk has recently transitioned to a counter-service restaurant with a limited menu ** We visited on a busy weekend morning, and found the service amazing! Although there was a large clump of people waiting to order or find a table, the staff did a great job of navigating this new style of service and easily moved between taking orders, bussing tables, and delivering food. We ordered the chicken biscuit and the ham, egg, and cheese biscuit. The biscuits were huge and perfectly baked - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chicken biscuit was by far our favorite! Definitely worth a trip to Harbor Town to eat at this cozy and eclectic brunch spot.

Yelp
I've had the chicken biscuit at a catering event multiple times but yesterday I finally was able to experience the restaurant. The margarita was amazing!!! I can see this becoming a regular spot.

Yelp
First time eating at this Harbor Town eatery ... great breakfast and lunch place. Seating both inside and outside ( we sat outside). You order at the counter, pay, take a number and they bring it out. A lot of people were getting the chicken biscuit which looked great ... but kinda heavy for what I wanted today. Will try that another time. I had a BLT and it was one of the best with fantastic bacon, perfect bread a great tomato's.... I highly recommend. Someone else in the group had a Caesar salad with the fried chicken... was really done well with an added twist of strawberries. Biscuits and gravy looked amazing. Everything looked great , you can't go wrong. Took a stroll to the river walk after to walk off a few calories. We'll be back

Yelp
all good - EVERYTHING. The ambiance was cozy. Our server was informative and kind. The food was fantastic. We had breakfast - Tumeric Ginger Tea (came with its own little honey shot); griddle cake (best I have ever EVER had - made with toasted oat flour and pure maple syrup - yes!); hot honey chicken biscuit (huge and a tik tok sensation). go here.

Yelp
The service and ambiance was great however if you are a vegan be prepared to enjoy orange juice and potatoes. However ver nice place to relax and enjoy the courtyard. Three star for the lack of options only

Yelp
Big back, big back! Whew, the way this food had me in a chokehold! If you decide to visit, know that you might have to wait a while, but trust me, it is well worth it! If you love biscuits and savory foods, I highly recommend the grits and fried chicken sandwich. You could also keep it simple and go with the classic plate. I'm definitely going back to try a few more of their delicious foods!

Yelp
So I know a lot of people been talking about this place and I was excited to try. But kinda underwhelmed.... I love the concept and this place is so cute but the menu was very underwhelming and limited. Which is okay if that's your thing. The wait wasn't that bad. The girl who checked us in was really nice. But this space is really small so if you have to wait you have to wait outside or in a very small bar area. Be prepared they don't take cash and you have to order and pay before you sit down. Which I wasn't a fan of but whatever. You have to get your own water and it doesn't come with ice lol. For the food..... I was pretty satisfied with the portion sizes but the flavor was lacking. All I was tasting was a hard @$$ biscuit lol. Like idk if it was just the day but both of the chicken sandwiches biscuits was soooo hard. The biscuits and gravy biscuit was kinda saved because it was covered in gravy but the sandwich literally crumbled in my hands as I was eating it. Idk if that's a thing but that kinda turned me off. And my hash brown was superrrrrr salty. I couldn't even eat it. I heard they were really good at the pop ups but a little disappointed in the food I had today. I'll probably come back once the hype dies down. Overall okay experience. I will be back but no time soon.

Yelp
I never heard of this place, but it was suggested for a breakfast date. Very quaint atmosphere. Quick and friendly service. I ordered the 2 eggs breakfast plate with bacon and a biscuit. The biscuit and the jam were the favorite things on the plate. My friend had the honey hot chicken biscuit. The honey on the chicken was great but the chicken itself could've used more seasoning. Overall it's a great place to have a quick breakfast, brunch outing.

Yelp
I was super excited about this place, but it ended up being just fine, and pretty pricy. When we walked in there were a couple of people in line, so we went over to the computer screen to order. Unfortunately, this is only for TO-GO orders, which we had no idea was the case.. There weren't signs and so many restaurants now have this as an option, so we didn't think anything of it. As we sat at a table for about 10-15 minutes someone from the kitchen came over to our table and asked if we could move since they were getting busy. But, we said we ordered and were waiting for our food. We told her our name, and where we ordered and she said oh, that's only for to-gos...we'll go find it. So very glad someone came over and asked because if they didn't we could've been there for quite a while! I ordered the fried Chicken sandwich, with an egg, and unfortunately, I think there was some miscommunication with the order. In the notes I asked for honey, instead of hot honey, but they ended up taking off the breaky sauce and only having the honey, which was kinda sad. The biscuit was flaky and tasty, and the sandwich itself was good. It just needed some kinda sauce to pull it together (the one that should've been on there). My boyfriend got the burrito and he was a bit underwhelmed. It was a little smaller than we expected, especially for the price with adding meat, and didn't seem super special. it was good, but not mind-blowing. The Griddle Cake had a really good sauce, but we didn't enjoy the oat grainy flavor of the pancake. The staff were 10/10 though. Everyone we encountered was really nice, and friendly, and the decor was very cool. We'll be back, but it might not be an urgent thing.
google avatar

Morgan C.

Yelp
There is seating inside and outside. The outside dining area is a quaint little courtyard with shade and fans. The food was immaculate in taste and portion size! This place is consistent in flavor and presentation every time! The service is pretty quick and friendly!
google avatar

Sloan T.

Yelp
We go here almost weekly with a small toddler. It's in my opinion, the best. Kinfolk has an aesthetic and brand that follows through in the quality of the food. There is a craft and creative edge that most restaurants fall short in. My favorite is the breaky bowl, my boyfriend loves the breakfast burrito, and we always order the griddle cake to go. The biscuits are herby, the butter is sagey, the strawberry jam tastes homemade. The oatmeal is also amazing and watching them plate up the full meal of grits has me excited for our next visit. The staff are kind and feel familiar. The customer base is diverse and honestly, tells the story of memphis in the best kind of way. If you're on the fence, here's your sign: drive downtown and splurge on a good local business.
google avatar

Luke W.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. Best biscuit in Memphis by a mile. They've got a bunch of local products, like they're cold brew coffee which was delicious. My sister got the grapefruit brûlée, which was very unique. All around fantastic experience
google avatar

Ryan D.

Yelp
Finally was able to try this place! I was nervous that it'd be over-hyped but it's just as good as the hype is. Brunch was delicious and the interior was so cool. We made a reservation for 5 and got a booth clearly designed for four, which was the only negative. Definitely make a reservation if you're going on a weekend!
google avatar

Kandis B.

Yelp
Food, service and atmosphere are still great. Keep it up kinfolk. Every time we leave I have already planned out what I'll order next time around.
google avatar

Neek C.

Yelp
I can honestly say that if I lived less than 2 miles from Kinfolk I would be in there everyday. LOL! I can eat 10 biscuits alone. LOL! The service is good and it feels like you are in a house in the 80s. Although, I like the chicken biscuit, the griddle cakes are my favorite. Especially with extra pecan pie butter. Amazing.
google avatar

john t.

Yelp
We went on a Thursday morning. Walked in and were greeted immediately. We ordered three items. Sausage egg and cheese biscuit, chicken biscuit and a plain biscuit with their pecan pie butter. There is nothing to say. It was a delicious experience for this California boy. Only positives for this little place. Go there and enjoy!
google avatar

John Calvin B.

Yelp
Only receives 4 stars due to the high price. The food is great, especially the chicken biscuit. I have been a fan since their pop up days at Comeback Coffee. Always pleased with fast and friendly service. The restaurant provides a retro feel.
google avatar

Robin T.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambiance are all excellent! I had a really good Bloody Mary, and I don't even like Bloody Mary. The chicken biscuit with eggs and cheese is absolutely amazing!!! I also had a small bowl of oatmeal....delish!! This is my first visit, and I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Beverly A.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. They have the BEST BISCUITS. My go to item is the classic plate. It comes with their Hash which are the best seasoned breakfast potatoes. They are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Then there is their sausage that is made in house which has to be the best breakfast sausage I've ever had. Then there's their biscuits and home made jam. The biscuits are savory and crispy paired perfectly with a sweet jam. This is always my favorite part. The biscuits are perfection! If there is one thing you get, make sure it's the biscuits! The restaurant itself is very cute with a diner like feel. Although they have a small kitchen and small restaurant they work very efficiently and have great service.
google avatar

Amber B.

Yelp
Came here during the week. You will need reservations for the weekend as they have mentioned online. You place your order when you walk in. The biscuit was really good, reminded me of the biscuits at Sunrise. I also got the grits. They were a bit spicier than I expected, but very good and flavorful. There's seating inside and outside. They also do to go orders from what I saw sitting at the bar. The service will be improved over time. Food came out fast. I'll def be back, but I won't be running back. I hope they have much success because it's a unique spot with good food. Gonna try the pancakes next time.
google avatar

Karmen V.

Yelp
I have already been twice in 1 week and have plans to go back this week. I haven't had a bad bite yet. Definitely don't want to miss out on the biscuits and gravy or the flapjacks.
google avatar

Tarshe C.

Yelp
We had a great experience, The ambiance is very welcoming with Diner style dining . They have some pretty good food for breakfast (The Chicken and Biscuits was awesome w/ the brakey sauce) it's my favorite. My husband had the Tasso Ham, he loved his dish as well. And the service was great as well; even though it takes about 20 minutes to receive our food it was well worth the wait. The food was hot and freshly prepared. Staff here is friendly and very helpful too...
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Went to support a family owned business and because the food sounded delicious and boy was I right. We had the breakfast bowl, everything about it was great- the sauce was a delicious addition. The bacon, egg, & cheese biscuit also so good. The biscuit has such a good sweet & herbed flavor- it's a honey biscuit. Cute little dinner appeal with a beautiful patio inside of big elaborate decorated metal gates. The bar tender was so sweet and the staff all helpful and nice.

Leon W.

Yelp
Food and service was top tier, warm welcoming environment, a great place for brunch. This made it on the list!

Delois V.

Yelp
I had an amazing time here at Kinfolk. The food was just splendid and everything was just super high-quality! The service was welcoming and friendly. The ambiance was chill and laid back. 5 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
My son and I love this place. The consistenc, service and pursuit of quality food for their guests is great. and they're young which is encouraging to see. I pray they don't cave to corporate society.
google avatar

Don B.

Yelp
Great addition to Harbortown. Stopped in as they were opening at 6a for a cup o' joe. Great space, friendly staff and excellent coffee. Heavenly biscuits too! And a heaping portion of Southern hospitality. Full breakfast menu starts at 7a. Menu looks great.
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
Food is tasty and the portion sizes are great. I had the chicken biscuit and added egg and cheese as well as a hash brown side. The hash brown has Ole Bay on it I believe. Whether you like that flavor or not will determine if you like the hash brown. The biscuit was fluffy with a nice crunchy outside. Service was good.

Isaac B.

Yelp
The chicken biscuit was good. The chicken lacked some seasoning but the biscuit was perfect. Our waitress was great. The ambiance is fine it looks like a television set only thing that's confusing is the book shelves on the wall. How do you grab a book?
google avatar

Colin O.

Yelp
Very tasty biscuits! The place is small so it fills up quickly. Friendly staff; great brunch spot!
google avatar

Cadey L.

Yelp
Good food with unique options. The arugula breakfast bowl was fantastic. I recommend getting on the waitlist ahead of arrival. Expect a forced tip of 20% regardless of party size or quality of service.
google avatar

Kaymen H.

Yelp
Kinfolk is our favorite breakfast spot. You can't find a breakfast sandwich as fire as these. We crave them regularly. The service is phenomenal and everyone is so kind. Also super cool and vibey place on the inside, we love all the wood paneling, feels like we're in a cafe the 70s. Cole the owner is a great guy and we are so happy to support him!
google avatar

B W.

Yelp
Just had some awesome biscuits with sausage & chicken! Service is fast casual. Staff is super helpful! We ate outside & it was all perfect!!
google avatar

Bailey P.

Yelp
Worth the wait!!! I ordered the Bloody Mary, which is now my favorite Bloody Mary ever, wow. I don't even like olives, but the olives and pickle on top were delicious! My husband and I split the Crispy Chick, Breakfast Burrito (with Bain BBQ Brisket - the meat was like butter - YUM), and the BLT. All were better than we could imagine, but we ranked them 1. Chick 2. Burrito 3. BLT. We don't come here often enough and the food hits the spot every single time!!!

Yelp
The BEST breakfast and brunch in Memphis! You've got to try this ... you will love it and become a regular like me! Such an incredible menu with creative, quality, and delicious food. The biscuit sandwiches, the bread, the pancakes, and the Breaky Bowl... unbelievable! The atmosphere is casual and welcoming - and the staff team is the best. You immediately feel like friends and family. 1000% recommend. 10/10!

Yelp
Kinfolk has fabulous food, super cute spot, great service. 10/10 We have loved their bowls and biscuits!
google avatar

Keya L.

Yelp
The food is phenomenal with a lot of the ingredients being locally sourced and I've never had anything I didn't like. They've recently incorporated restaurant-style table service and I couldn't be more happy about that. All the workers are super friendly and always seem eager to help. I've been going to Kinfolk since the coffee shop pop-ups and I couldn't be more proud of what it's become. Definitely try this place out if you haven't already!
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Food was stellar!! I am not a big fan of standing to order but it was worth it. The kiosk you pay at asks for tip amount that starts at 18%, a few in our party had a conversation about this and they believe if you stand order, you shouldn't give a tip I did regardless. They have a water station where you also get your own. The two other people in our party got their order and they forgot to enter mine and I realized it after a few people that were seated or served before I was, but they brought my food after I asked -didn't apologize. Mmm. Again I want to say everything was wonderful. I will go there again.

Sara C.

Yelp
This place has very friendly staff and feels a little back in time with the vintage decor. I got the breakfast burrito and it was one of the best ones i have had. i will definitely return. worth the short wait in line.

Erin J.

Yelp
Service was decent but the food wasn't great. I ordered the 2 egg plate. The eggs were okay but it's hard to mess up eggs. The bacon was burnt. The biscuits were DRY. The potatoes were decent. The pancakes, nasty. Not really worth it.
