9 Best Fried Chicken Sandwiches in Charleston | Eater Carolinas

"Kinfolk is John’s Island’s go-to spot for all things fried chicken. For a little extra heat, try the Nashville-style crispy chicken sandwich, and be sure to add a side of collards or pit cooked beans for good measure. Call or order online." - Parker Milner

Google
Simple atmosphere with even simpler drinks. The bartender didn't know how to make an old fashioned. Fortunately, the live music was surprisingly good. They're also open late, which many places aren't.

Google
Great beer and they will let you deliver food to the bar! There is a babbling brook outside you can stick your head out of the windows and look down at, live music, and an Amazing vibe

Google
This place has a good layout... bar, stage, etc. The bartender, I belive his name was Keith from Brooklyn... a good dude and genuinely happy to serve. Probably won't be back, but a place I will forever remember. My adventures take me elsewhere.

Had a great time watching the bands play at open mic night and the owner/bartender Gary is the best! ❤️ Wonderful place to go meet new people and relax listening to music. One of my favorite places to spend an evening.

Google
Can't really say how the service or food was...cause we sat there for 15mins and no one ever came over to welcome us. It was a strange crowd, and I guess we didn't fit in... for a town that relies on out of town busy for sales sure doesn't feel like kinfolk staff got the memo.

Cool place. Great live music. So much fun.

Google
VERY friendly & warm atmosphere with incredible cocktails, ice cold 🍺 & fantastic LIVE music 🎸 ‼️ ps: The owner, Rory, is a pretty cool dude….

Google
Great place, plenty of room for a great band, and lots of good drinks and food!!

Yelp
1000 times yes I recommend this place! We heard commotion so we stepped in and it was a borderline raging party! The band was amazing and the crowd was reciprocating. Since the Mardi Gras parade preceded it immediately it was that kind of party vibe. There was a live Emu dancing in the crowd (swear to god) and all kinds of different costumes. We met some new friends, had some great drinks, and danced our rear ends off. I will be checking this place out way more often. As packed as it was, the bartenders were super fast. I would give this place 50 stars if I could

Yelp
They definitely need to work on their customer service. Generally rude and contradicting on what was and wasn't allowed (we had kids with us on an open mic night to listen to the acts). At first we were told "babies are welcome"...then when my partner went to grab some drinks, I was cornered by another employee and told to leave immediately- rudely. The place is really lovely as far as atmosphere and space; the music was great sounding towards the end of the night, though staff also had weird attitude with certain musicians. Overall disappointed, we really wanted to try drinks on open mic night!

Yelp
Horrible service. Bartender "Rory" very aggressive and was pushy into serving a drink I wasn't interested in. Beware ladies! Zero stars!!!!

Yelp
It's a mountain town bar/my hometown mountain town bar. Don't go in there with over the moon expectations. Do go in there knowing that you will have authentic mind stimulating conversations, good simple drinks, great music from the local town musicians (On Wednesdays), and just that small mountain town bar feel. However you carry yourself is how you will be treated.

Emanuel M.

Yelp
Coolest place in Manitou. Yea the locals go here because the locals are cool too. So be cool in the coolest place around. The Wednesday night open mic is cool too.

Yelp
This is a really cute music bar. I was there last night and they had free show with a guy named Zach Wight. Such happy vibes and people were dancing having a great time. I wish they had more afternoon live music also the bartenders are really nice.

Yelp
The bartender was awful. He was rude, I'm not sure but I would think this bar is only for locals. We did not stay and we won't be back.

Yelp
We stopped by this cute place in to hear a band that was starting up. Friendly prompt service, clean bar, cold beer and great sound. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Will definitely return!

Yelp
DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY! The owner walked in tonight and told me to go fuck myself because my girlfriend and some other people were dancing. He stated "it's open mic night, no dancing is supposed to be going on. That's what Friday and Saturday are for." Everyone was having a good time and spending money in his bar. I don't know what his issue was. We were face to face and he told me he'd kick my ass if I said anything more. I used to love this place until tonight. I know a lot of people that go here and I will be sure to let them know to never go again. I hope your business fails.

Yelp
First and foremost, I'm not in the habit of dragging my 3 year old around to bars at night so the circumstances around this review are not typical for me but I'd just like to put some information out there for any other parents that happen to like fun. We were wandering around town after the penny arcade, burning off our ice cream at around 9:15pm when we noticed music coming from this bar as the front door was wide open. My husband and I stood outside with our 3 year old and watched for a few minutes as we were passing by. There were about 5 people dancing. My daughter kept asking to go in so yes, against my better judgement, I walked into a bar with my little one for a quick dance. I didn't approach the bar- I literally was having a quick spin with my daughter just inside the door when we were asked to leave- no little ones after 9pm. Okay, I get it, there are policies and everything but I don't know. It seemed clear that the situation was just a lark. I wasn't about to belly up to the bar with my toddler and stay all night. The place wasn't packed and we got a few smiles from the patrons that were there so I thought a quick 5 minute dance would be alright. My husband was even waiting just outside the door for us. Whatever. Seemed unnecessarily uptight for a summer Saturday night. Won't be heading back.

Yelp
Great place to have a craft beer! Very knowledgeable on the different beers on tap. Great live music! The owners are very personable.

Yelp
What a great place!!! Stopped in while walking around Manitou Springs waiting for the fireworks with our children. They had a great duo from Austin playing, Lefty and Lynette. People were friendly and they grabbed a little juice for my kids. Definitely will add to my watch list for live music and make my way out again.

Yelp
This is an odd place. In the front, you'll find some outdoor gear. In the back, you'll find a small bar with a rotating selection of good beer. Before Trinity opened, this was the place to go to find Arrogant Bastard and other harder to find gems from outside Colorado. They are dog friendly, have live music and a generally laid back vibe....just what you would expect in Manitou. Pro tip: They take credit cards, but you can't charge a tip..so bring cash for your bartender.

Yelp
I love this place. Friday nights are live music night and the acts are always fun! The crowd is lively and friendly and you are likely to see some interesting people and dogs - an absolutely delightful escape from some of the other folks you see around the Springs (good or bad.) I only wish I lived a little bit closer so I could have one more beer! The selection is fantastic, the prices are fair, and the bartenders are super friendly.

Yelp
Great spot, totally not what you'd expect when you walk in the first time. Amazing, ever changing, beers on tap. The owners are just awesome and the patrons are all exceedingly friendly. Also you can bring your dog. Whats not to love about that! No food here though, but they will let you bring in take-out from other establishments.

Yelp
Great bar with terrific music! We enjoyed trying the different local beers & talking to the locals.

Yelp
Great place to meet people and hang out with some good beers. Eat before you come if you are hungry. Cool place.

Rob L.

Yelp
8 rotating taps. Actually 7. Arrogant Bastard is a sticky tap. Good local music too. And you can bring your dog or dogs if you wish. One more star if the nitro tap was better calibrated.

Michael R.

Yelp
Great, authentic, neighborhood bar and locals' hangout. Good selection of craft beers, friendly owners and staff.

M B.

Yelp
Cool little place to grab a brew and listen to some chill music. Very friendly staff. I guess they used to accept pets - but no longer so minus one star.

Ray D.

Yelp
Good beer selection and live music. They allow dogs which has it's pro's and con's. I wish the bar wasn't jagged as you can't lean on it.
