The BEST CHINESE BBQ!🥢 Delicious and restaurant owner is so nice! Food is fresh and the flavor is well balanced 👍🏻 Love the pork belly and dumplings! And the best part is the price is so reasonable! 👌🏻 Will go back and try other stuff👏🏻

Google
A good place for late-night food, feeling back to northeast China. The skewers are decent. I recommend the fresh beef skewer. However, the environment could be noisy and smoky (ppl can smoke in the tents.)

Google
Feel home in this place! It’s a lovely environment that makes you feel you are back to your hometown. Furthermore, the food are great too, I enjoyed the two kind of sauces and the hot spot bbq.

Nuoc Productions

Google
A solid place, decent food, good prices, nice staff. We got lamb, beef, and mushroom skewers that come a delicious (common) spice mixture, and eggplant.

Google
Delicious!!!!! We've been eating here two days in a row

Google
We sat in the back (outside) and bought a bunch of cooked skewers. They also give you a complimentary bowl of boiled peanuts, which was so good. We ordered another and thought it was still free, but ended up getting charged $5. It was pretty chill in the back. There were groups of people hanging out there for hours playing games. The parking lot is small, but free. There's more parking on the street.

Google
The best Chinese northeast typical BBQ I ever had in the US, clean and yummy! Definitely would come here again.

Taro Yin

Google
The sweetness is way more than the saltiness. Used to love this place. But will not be back again.

Yelp
good BBQ Charcoal, I love the food, I love the lamb belly, and a casual skewers spot grilled with charcoal. so delicious. I will come back to take all my family to eat here again.

Yelp
I first came here in...probably sometime in 2017, and they seemed to have just opened, and didn't have a liquor license yet. Have been there a handful of times since, and their lamb skewers are amazing. We will come here and order like 60 skewers. Always a good time.

Yelp
If you're looking for a casual skewers spot grilled with charcoal, King Charcoal is a good BBQ option! Their outdoor patio is more spacious, as there's only a few tables indoors. For a group of 4, we ordered lamb, lamb belly, cattle, chicken gizzard, pork belly, oysters with garlic, Taiwan sausages, potato slices, and cucumber salad. They came out fast and fresh. The lamb selections are all good! Their skewers are flavorful with tasty seasoning. The oysters are a must get. The gizzard was too dry. The pork belly was juicy but fatty. An authentic skewer place!

Yelp
The food was savory and delicious! Nothing compliments it better than a cold xingtao and these delicacies on a hot Summer night it definitely hit the spot! I might have been lost in translation a few times but I found my way! I also got the garlic oyster but my big back ass gulped it down! It was fire though can't wait to try this place again! ‍

Yelp
This place isn't as appetizing as it seems the food wasn't up to my expectations, quality and flavor can be better. The service is good. It has a large outdoor dinning area right behind the restaurant.

Yelp
This is my go to place in Monterey Park. Covered outdoor seating in the back. Grill sits on the table and you can cook or have the kitchen grill up some tender large portions of MEAT! Great cuts of steak and some the most tender meat you can sink your teeth in! Words are not enough.

Yelp
I have never been compelled to write a Yelp review until today. We came in for dinner and ordered a set of skewers and the meat arrived slightly cold and lukewarm -- whatever. As we asked for the menu for a second round of orders, we waited almost 15 minutes without any service, while numerous tables next to us were getting served. *Not to mention, we also asked for waters which took a long time and we were given 3 cups for a table of 4 -- whatever. We were fed up at this point and asked for the check. A waiter literally tried giving us the menu as we were on our way out. We did not leave a tip as we were greeted TWICE, the entire 30-40 minute duration we were there and couldn't even order food. (I am a generous tipper and this is the first time I had to not leave one due to poor service) As we drove out, a waiter stopped our car and pressed us about tipping. We explained very kindly our reasoning behind it, to which he replied in Chinese: "If you are going to f*cking do that, don't even bother to come". As a customer, the very least I expect at a restaurant is to be able to eat. If I am not even given a menu to order, why is there any confusion as to why no tip was left. Trust me, the waiter did not need to tell us to not come, we were not planning on going again anyways.

Yelp
The meat options were really good and they appetizer options were great. My favorite was the chicken wings! Our server checked on us often and the meat came out quickly. It's a big and dim place so perfect if you have a large group but keep in mind they only have one grill per table. Definitely recommend in the area.

Yelp
Got to invited to a family dinner by my cousin. We sat outside or in the back of the restaurant inside a huge pergola/tent. The meats (beef, pork, chicken, and lamb) were fresh and they have lots of side dishes such as jellyfish, clams, periwinkles, corns, and more. We also got the large Saborro beer pitcher. This place opens late until 2AM, so best for late night bites with a group of friends. The only downsides were that the parking lot is small and you may have to park on the street. There were some cigarette smokers near us and we had to tell them to get further away. Glad they did so and did not ruin our nice dinner. Give this place a try!

Yelp
This place is open late with outdoor seating available in the back parking lot. Came at around midnight and there were several parties eating and drinking. We ordered: Chicken skin - 4/5 It was crispy and had decent flavor. Quail eggs - 2/5 The eggs were too bland. Beef - 2/5 The beef was also really bland and wasn't fresh. Lamb - 4/5 These skewers weren't bad. They were tiny but one order comes with a lot of skewers. It was also very fatty. Pork belly - 1/5 These were honestly terrible. It didn't taste like pork belly and was rather dry with a weird taste to it. Chicken heart - 4/5 The heart was pretty good. It didn't have the strong gamey flavor and had a tender texture. Chicken gizzard 4/5 These weren't bad. They were also very tender. Chicken cartilage 5/5 I liked these skewers the most because they were crunchy and had good flavor to it. The complimentary peanuts they gave us were pretty good though. It was salty but very flavorful. Overall, most of the skewers weren't fresh or good, especially the beef and pork belly. Maybe we just had a bad batch of meat that day or something but it definitely tasted worst than my previous visits pre-quarantine. This wouldn't be my go-to place for skewers.

Yelp
Ambiance: 5/5 I like the really chill and open atmosphere of this restaurant. It's about 9pm, and the parking lot is full. I would recommend street parking to avoid the congested parking lot. The atmosphere is "divey", so I wouldn't go in with expectations of a romantic atmosphere. This is a place that you go to to relax, drink beer, eat with groups of friends and family. Food: 5/5 All the lamb items are so good! Lamb shank is so delicious. Super flavorful and so tender. I also recommend the oysters and a beer dispenser Wait: 3/5 The wait for our food was really long. A few groups that sat down after us got all their food before us and left before us. I know that the food is being bbq'd fresh... so they get some leniency on the wait. Overall: 4.33 Our order was missing two skewers from our order of 10 and the food took over an hour and half to come out. I probably wouldn't eat here if I have stuff to do. I feel like if they can just get the food out quicker, this place could easily be a 5 star place.

Yelp
Their lamb belly is so good here for a good price. We did dine in but outdoor seating, it was pretty packed for a late night but we got seated immeidately. We did bring our kids and the workers were smoking outside, they moved away from the babies so thats considerate of them. You are allowed to smoke out there so it was my fault for bringing kids. Anyways, the only thing i felt couldve been better was the chicken skin. It was way too hard and crispy and had no flavor. The bacon wrapped inokis are good and their large intestines good too if you like that.

Yelp
--Quarantine Eats-- Dldr: Slow service, good bbq not overcooked or undercooked, BYOB, would not come back during COVID. Ambience (3/5) Outside seating dine-in tables are set up in the parking lot behind the building. About 10-12 tables setups with outdoor lounge chairs. They setup lights outside. But it got cold and windy as sunsets. There are proper social distancing between tables but it is not enforced. No temperature checks. Some staff are wearing mask and some are not. Parking (5/5) Since they are using half of the parking lot as a dine-in area, parking is a bit harder to find. You can park on the street for 2 hour free parking or you can park in the free parking structure next to the restaurant. Service (2/5) Very slow service. We went on Friday around 6pm, all tables were full and some people were waiting. There was only 4 waiters. They don't have reservation in the app or over the phone. We ordered 10 items in total and spent 2 hr. The food arrives one at a time instead of all. Food (5/5) Although service was very slow, food was delicious. We order cold noodles and jellyfish salad. Chicken skewer, Beef skewer, Lamb skewer, fish cake skewer, and mushroom skewer there are all good bbq. Nothing was overly cooked or undercooked. No burnt. We also had the pork intestine skewer which I would not recommend. It was a bit chewy and dry. The bbq squid was chopped into pieces and drizzle in the sauce so it is not dry. Although it was a lot saltier than other skewers. We also ordered garlic vermicelli scallops and garlic oyster. They are cooked well-done, flavor-able, and juicy. The food overall was very good. Nothing was overcooked or undercooked. No burnt. They also sell variety of beer to with your bbq; Corona, budlight, modello, saporro and taiwan beer. Or you can bring your own beer. I saw a lot of people brought their adult juices and the owner don't seem to care.

Yelp
So we walked here thinking it was another place, the place that has a giant bear outside but it wasn't it. This place was completely empty and it was almost 7pm. So we sat down and the waiter gave us the sheet to order. He was honestly kinda of pushy and kept looking at us, waiting for us to order. We talked about certain items and he'd chime in and say it was good. So we got the squid, a beef skewer, a pork belly skewer, the chicken wings, the eggplant and a shrimp skewer. While we waited they gave us some edamame, which was nice. My dad thought the water tasted funny, so we went over to the refrigerator where they had drinks. Again the guy came by to tell us which drinks were good and what we should order. I grabbed a bottle of their grapefruit juice which was nice. Since there were no other patrons, we felt like they kept staring at us. It was kind of weird. Finally another couple came in and ordered. The food came out a few at a time, first the skewers, then the eggplant and the squid. It was really good but very salty and we asked if they had rice. The waiter said no and they only make small amounts of rice in the back for the staff... A little strange but anyways. My dad wasn't feeling well, so we decided to get the wonton noodle soup. That was also tasty. Overall the food was good but the service was weird and pushy. We got the bill and it was for $48 and I tried to pay with a credit card but he asked if I had cash. I didn't see a Cash Only sign but luckily I had cash. Again, good food. Weird atmosphere and pushy service. Not sure I would come back to be honest.

Yelp
Authentic China northeastern style bbq. Reminds me of home. The owner of the restaurant is super nice and approachable. We come here at least 4 times a month that's how good it is. My favorite dish is pidan tofu and grilled mantou slice. There are lot of mosquitos at the outside dining area so be prepared with long sleeves and cover your skin. They reopened indoor dining area so you can sit there as well. Recommend!!

Yelp
A very casual and humble Chinese bbq that secures its spot as an awesome hole in the wall in Monterey Park. No lavish decor, no bs, just good food and neighborhood service that doesn't need you to pitch in for their remodel. No fancy cuts of meat. Just good ol' lamb, beef, and chicken. Flavors are just right, not too salty, just the right amount of savory. I always get: -lamb skewers -beef skewers -egg plant -cold platter jellyfish or raw potato slices (identical sauces but i still get both cuz its so good!)
google avatar

Jaime T.

Yelp
Parking: easy & free -Private lot after (not before) the restaurant -street parking available All the skewer flavors are the same but still good to me. I think you are just paying for the mix of textures. The spice was perfect, not too spicy but a small kick. Everything is BBQ'ed in the back so you don't have to do the work which I like since I do get distracted. Nothing that wowed me but the flavor overall was tasty. Would I come back? Yes, if I was craving the flavor but I don't recommend it due to some cleanliness issues.

Yelp
We went there on a busy Friday night. Parking was easy. Skewers were pretty good, a little salty to my taste but I liked the spices especially the fresh cumin seeds they used. Service was not the fastest but again the place was full. One thing I'd like to mention though - I'm not a smoker and I was quite bothered by the customers who were smoking at their seats. There's a clear No Smoking sign and some people just ignored it.
google avatar

Yelp
Almost all of the skewers BBQ are so yummmmmm by comparing others. Not salty and good service are my first recommendation. The signature hand-made flavor power(on each table) is their proud-of-product. Except the cucumber salad, which is not my flavor-too sour for me, claim is so good. Highly recommend this place for friends gathering with BBQ skewers.

Yelp
The meats was very tender, easy to chew and has a great northern Chinese favorites. The atmosphere was peaceful; warm, they served the special northern China style beers. Good place to have dinner if you plan to visiting Monterey park.

Yelp
Customer service was pretty good. the owner moved us to a bigger table when it was available and got us new plates. Our food came out pretty fast and was hot and fresh. My favorites were the lamb, beef, corn, potato. Skip the quail & the scallop with vermicelli because they are expensive and not very good. Prices are very affordable, seasoning is good.

Yelp
We we're looking for a place to kill the Tuesday Blues and among all the skewer places...this one is probably the most popular among the area. Menu: Trnaslation wasnt at its best...but if you ask, they'll try to help you with the best of their knowledge. Choices/Menu Opt: Lamb, beef, chicken, pork, veggies and seafood. The usuals were avaiable, bacon wrapped enoki, orka, mushrooms, gizzard, corn. Over all the whole squid was the best!!! Becuase they only have 1 guy grilling , it took a little longer for us to get the first round...after that food came right away. Drink Menu: They dont have one lol. its the old school communication or grab and go. Bottles iced tea sodas beer Saparro Kirin can't recall the others Quality of the meat was good give it, better then feng wei as they mentioned. But the options couldn't compete. Service: complementary Peanuts (not bad..) attentive unlike typical restaurants when you need service they were there. Parking: street parking or parking lot in the back. *it does get packed after 9:30pm so come early! * the cashier didnt bring our change back assuming it was all tip...actually it was.. but we wantes to tip more lol. * the chartactist noodle was like a tamale...i wouldn't recommend it

Yelp
I recommend you guys don't eat beef tripe and you guys should all try pork belly, lamb, and beef skewer
google avatar

Sarah Y.

Yelp
Service was nice. We wrote the paper what we order. Food came fast. Even though food was little bit spicy for me, it was good.

Chotika P.

Yelp
Great spot to spend time with friends and family! The menu was a little bit to hard to understand and order, but the food was so amazing.
google avatar

Kristine H.

Yelp
I don't know if the food is good or not, but the SERVICE IS REALLY BAD! At first, we waited at the door for 15 mins and the waitresses ignored us like we are not existed. Then, they kept took the customers that arrived later than me and my friends to the table, and told us there wasn't a table available.

Christopher M.

Yelp
This restaurant doesnt even care to customer who cant speak chinese. I have been waiting order for more than 1 hour and they didnt even care.
google avatar

Huize Z.

Yelp
I love the lamb skewer. Shrimp the best . Pretty good bbq! Cold beer. Everything decent. The service is very nice. Will come here agian and recommend to my friends
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome and great services from the boss and the staffs as well. They paid attention to us, there was no doubt because we are regular. Everytime, I and my friends walked in we always greeted by the staffs and the boss came to us and said hello. I think its awesome. The foods taste always depended on the individual's preferences, whi liked more spicy or not.
google avatar

mingxuan f.

Yelp
They offered outdoor dining area with tent, and patio heater, that's awesome , warm environment and delicious food
google avatar

Grace T.

Yelp
The food is really good, service is nice. Love the BBQ!! Reasonable price...nice for friends gathering.

Jack E.

Yelp
Guys, don't ever come to this place this place is the worst place I've ever come. Their BBQ was so expensive and didn't worth the price. I would never come back for real bro trust me don't ever come here!!!
google avatar

Laurie V.

Yelp
The food at this restaurant is pretty good. The first time we went for dinner, we asked to order white rice to complement the bbq food. Even though it was not offered on the menu, they were able to provide some for us. It makes the food taste better to tone down the saltiness. The experience was great so we came back with more people the second time around. Although the food was still tasty, they weren't able to provide us rice this time so we ordered noodles and buns to complement the food but it got a little overwhelming without white rice. My suggestion is to add rice to the menu.
google avatar

Joyce T.

Yelp
The food tasted good, but a terrible thing happened. I paid with a domestic credit card. This card was only used in this store. I have identity theft on my card next day. I never come again! 东西味道还不错,发生了一件可怕的事情,我用国内信用卡支付,这张卡只在这家店里使用了一次,第二天就被盗刷了,好可怕不会再来了。
google avatar

Kaiyang C.

Yelp
Spicy hot pot is very difficult to eat the quantity is very small, baked leek all is paste, the mutton shashlik quantity is insufficient, the whole is very salty, their home is very general.
google avatar

Xuan P.

Yelp
4 stars for the food. They have adequate choices in their menu which is not usual. You can get chicken, lamb, beef, pork and vegetables as you wish. The flavor is not the best but still good. If only they could provide more chili. One concern is the BeiBingYang soda here tastes very different from other restaurants that I have been to. Pretty weird. 3 stars for the price. Their price is higher than average while the food is not the best. So, 3 stars as a whole.

Sueann J.

Yelp
This is my go-to place for skewers. My fav are lamb, chicken cartilage and wings. The oysters are very good and fatty as well. They are open for dine-in in the back of the restaurant during Covid times. I always have a good experience whenever I go. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Out of the restaurant did not diarrhea in 10 minutes. Pulled one night. Possible ingredients are not fresh。Poor service attitude. The meat is scorched. Ask the waiter to change. No change. . Speak loudly. Noisy guests. . Summer is so hot. Most of the guests have left part of it. Just to save electricity. Turn off air conditioning! Really bad review
google avatar

Zoey G.

Yelp
the worst. Not only the food(like salt is the only thing they had in the kitchen) but the service. The staff spilt soda drinks in my purse.Neither the owner nor the staff willing to pay when I brought back the laundry receipt( which the staff promised to pay In front of me and my friend). It is a never coming back food spot.
google avatar

Ray L.

Yelp
Its pretty good. The food is better then the previous owner. the lamb skewer is nice, and the spicy boiled skewers are excellent, and everything else is nice too. Will likely be back.
google avatar

Yihang M.

Yelp
Pretty delicious bbq , Highly recommend the fat and lean lamb skewer, chicken wing , everything decent, the environment is very good, feel comfortable having friends gathered. Love it!!! Finished everything, I will come again !!!
google avatar

Ann X.

Yelp
The waitress was very rude and refuse service us since we choose to take-out. Very uncomfortable experience.
google avatar

Lawrence C.

Yelp
My wife and I tried their lamb belly and lamb shank. They are the best Chinese skewers I've ever tried in the LA area!
google avatar

Barry K.

Yelp
Tried oyster, quail, Chinese sausage, lamb, lamb belly, pork belly, squid and chicken cartilage and man, they all taste good especially the quail and lamb!!

Nomnom W.

Yelp
Pretty great place to grab an evening or night time snack! They are pretty pricey though. The best item would've the 10 kabob lean and fatty lamb for $4.99. Other dishes could really add up. For two people we ate $80 worth of food and we were still a bit hungry. Expect a pretty big bill if you're eating to fill up rather than as a snack. Definitely was displeased with their jellyfish cold dish. It was filled with cabbage and didn't taste that great.

Helen Z.

Yelp
Good lamb skewers. They are smaller, but there are 10 of them in each order. Oyster in garlic sauce is very tasty. Clean (women's) bathroom. Good service, free boiled peanuts as appetizers. You can see the grill guys working hard behind the glass.

Jose C.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at king Charcoal. The service once again was excellent. I can't wait until I go back for some lamb and chicken. Thanks again

KA D.

Yelp
Saturday dinner at 7 not full yet and no wait no line. Parking is in the rear, enter at the left of the place. Cool. Waiting for the food for 30 min tho. The meat tasted pretty good, however they use a hand held propane torch to cook the artery and the flat tendon? And it taste like propane. Errr.....

Maggie T.

Yelp
Service is a touch slow but that's alright for me. Food comes out hot and fresh off the grill. The lamb and beef is a must. It's juicy and hot. Not as spicy as I like but there's more nuance to their food.
