King Poke - Review - Lomita - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"There’s no need to overthink salmon vs. tuna at King Poke. Rathan than a pick-your-protein setup, the restaurant makes each bowl with a set assortment of fish (tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish, and masago) and toppings, like cucumber, imitation crab, avocado, scallions, and sesame seeds. The only decision is choosing your base and sauces, but it's nothing that'll make your brain hurt before lunch. Every element is rationed correctly, and the space is as uncomplicated as the menu. Imagine an office break room built for 30-minute raw fish meals." - Cathy Park

Ramen day at King Poke!! This is the best ramen in town, and a rare find anywhere else! King Poke's exclusive ramen day happens every Sunday and Monday! They originally served ramen only on Mondays, but starting in March, they added Sundays too. They only serve ramen on ramen day, no poke!

Google
There is ramen sold on sundays and mondays — it’s a one man shop, but it’s probably the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. Definitely the best ramen in the south bay

Google
Really good poke here! I only know a few spots in Torrance for poke, and this one is definitely my favorite. The poke is fresh and full of flavor. It’s also affordable and they give you more than enough to satisfy your appetite. The customer service is solid too. The only downside might be that the parking lot is a bit small, but I’ve never had any trouble finding a spot. Overall, definitely worth coming back!

FRESH, DELICIOUS AND FILLING. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FAST.

Google
So happy I found this place. It's delicious and there were a lot of take-out orders, which I'll be doing in the future. The hot sauce is made daily and is awesome!

Google
Not too many options for customization, food is fine, but service was good. Wish there were more options and I wish the spam musubi didn't cost so much for just one piece. Hope this helped 👍

Google
Poke: Amazing! Service: Friendly and Welcoming! Price: Decent! I went here for the first time, craving a poke bowl, and i was blown away by the welcoming atmosphere and DELICIOUS POKE!! I highly recommend this place and will be returning soon. They have a variety of delicious too that I cant wait to try.

Great food. Loved the spice, and the hot sauce. The cucumber salad was fantastic on a hot day

Yelp
Just ordered this place on Uber Eats at work and both my coworker and I agreed it was awesome. The fish was fresh and tasty and the flavors were on point. I meant to get a picture but once I started chowing down I forgot lol will definitely order here again!

Yelp
I've ordered a few times and also picked up. The poke is very good considering we're not on the islands. They have three sizes, their choices for toppings aren't a lot but are the traditional for Poke. After choosing your size and the toppings, you can get it as spicy as you want. The rice is almost perfect like sushi rice and seasoned/flavored good. I noticed a lot of people order out and don't choose to dine in. We did, as it was great to chill alone and enjoy the meal. The prices are reasonable and not too expensive, as like other poke eateries further up PCH. Anyway, Enjoy! We did.

Yelp
Was craving Poke and decided to go somewhere nearby. This place is great but the serving size is so small. I got a medium and I thought it was a small bowl. Whatever was in my medium bowl could definitely fit in a small bowl. We also got the glazed garlic shrimp plate! Very good on seasoning and the sauces but a little overcooked. Other than that, cool place. Very nice people!

Yelp
The best place for poke bowls! I've tried so many other places and none of them come close to what you get here. All the ingredients are fresh and there are what seem to be endless combinations you can create. Service is great, that staff is always friendly. The restaurant itself is a little small but always clean. Highly recommend King Poke!

Yelp
Amazing quality poke and great service! Would highly recommend, 10 out of 10. One of the best poke spots of been to in a long time!

Yelp
This place used to be so good I even brought a sushi chef (now works for Nobu) and 2 years ago this place was outstanding. The quality of the fish and the prep was great. I'm not sure what this is now. The fish texture is kind of old and a pinch of Masago a pinch of the imitation crab mostly tuna barely any wonton chips or garlic chips and a huge portion of Ginger lmao. I get times are tough but hire a legitimate cook to prep the dish. A small piece of a half slice of avocado. What happened to the food... time to find a new spot.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I were in the area looking for a no frills lunch, and I dug through my bookmarks and we found King Poke. They are located in a small plaza with a private parking lot, but there is street parking if the lot gets full. Their Original Poke Bowl comes with tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish and masago so you don't pick your protein like at other places. It also has cucumber, imitation crab, onions, avocado, green onions and sesame seed unless you opt out. My boyfriend had a Medium ($13.75) and I had a Small ($11.75). I opted out of the onions and green onions. For my base I went with half brown rice half salad. I opted for the ponzu and spicy mayo sauces. You get 3 toppings, and I went with fried onion, fried garlic chips, and wonton chips. There was plenty of small tables in the restaurant, but not well maintained. They had AC on, but it was still a little not cool enough. Food came out with a reasonable wait time. The poke was good value. I would prefer to pick my own protein but for a bowl of similar size in my local area, it would cost significantly more. We agreed it was a decent no frills spot for lunch. I would consider it if I was already in the area, but not something I would go out of my way for.

Yelp
this is my son's favorite pokey place because the flavor really is different and they have a lot of extras. Even though it's a little bit far for us, we'll drive a little extra for extra taste.

Yelp
I love coming here for poke!!! The fish is always fresh & the toppings are soooo good! I could eat here every single day. The service is always amazing and quick. Inside is always so clean, I like to eat right then and there for maximum freshness and deliciousness! Love it here!

Yelp
Wow! This is some very affordable poke. Will say the location itself seems a bit more on the sketch side but maybe that's just my thought. I got a small and medium poke bowl and the total came out to only $25. This poke place is a tad different than the poke where they make in front of you. You tell them what toppings you want and they make it in the back and call you when it's ready. Ingredients selection is pretty decent, not the most but it's reasonable. In terms of quality I thought it was good. I tried out the spicy tuna bowl which really hit the spot. It had all the components I'd like in a poke bowl. My wife got the regular poke bowl with ponzu and the fish itself tasted good but idk if we like the ponzu sauce, it was errr interesting. Overall I liked this spot because the fish was pretty fresh and it was a very reasonable price. They have stamp card where you get 1 free medium bowl with a drink after 15 stamps (2x stamps if you order from 4pm-8pm). Parking - Shared lot with a few local restaurants nearby, it's a pretty small lot not sure if it ever gets full.

Yelp
I wish I was in Hawaiʻi, a small slice of paradise! Devouring malasadas, Dole Whip, poke with rice Airfare is expensive, gotta wait for a drop in price But until then this place will do, it's just as nice! King Poke is along the Pacific Coast Highway Right in Lomita, a sleepy town in the South Bay Parking lot is tiny, but more spaces in the back Look for their store sign, which is in red and black It was empty inside, most patrons order takeout Plenty of seating if you dine-in, without a doubt Order ahead on their website www.king-poke.com Then the food will be ready for pick-up, nom nom! Every poke bowl includes tuna, onions, albacore Avocado, salmon, masago, cucumber, and more! Choose your base and size, small medium large Sauce, toppers, make it a combo for extra charge The small Spicy Tuna Bowl is a pretty good deal! $11.25 meal in this economy? Wow what a steal! My original Poke Bowl came with lots of fresh fish Combined with rice and vegetables, a tasty dish! Sure, topping selection could be more extensive Like other poke places that are more expensive If you aren't too picky, it gets the job done And you get to enjoy your food in the SoCal sun!
google avatar

Yelp
Tell me a poke place that gives you this generous of portions? You can't because this is the only spot for it not to mention their fish is way better then others around the area top tier no joke.
google avatar

Ted F.

Yelp
Best poke in LA undisputed. I order from here couple times a month and it never misses. The consistency in (top) quality is honestly wild. Value is excellent as well. Fish is always fresh and delicious. Big recs
google avatar

Adriana P.

Yelp
Tbh be honest it wasn't much of a bad place. The reviews are true where they says it's good and all. One thing I would wish is that we had the option to choose. The inside had plenty of seating and was pretty big. Will say there is little parking in the front but they have more parking in the rear I believe. Service was quick and fast nothing to complain. The food was an 8/10 just cuz I wish there was more option available. And and was very presentable. Will say the portion was pretty nice as well. Forgot to take photos cuz I usually do but overall a good place :)))

Yelp
After trying a number of different menu items. We have our staples! This is our go-to poke joint cause we just love it and its close to our house. This is what we get pretty much every time now. We have it written down and we just show it to them and they put it in for us. Small Poke bowl w ONLY salmon (no albacore or white fish or tuna), no onion or green onion Sushi rice Non-spicy Creamy sesame sauce (2)deep fried onion, (4) shredded Seaweed, (6)fried wonton chips Medium spicy tuna bowl Half and half salad/brown rice (2)Deep fried onion, (4)shredded seaweed, (5)sliced jalapeño Fish tacos Kids: 4x Kids Bowl (rice, crab meat, and seaweed) California Roll That's literally our order and the whole family is satisfied. The kids bowls are a pretty fantastic deal and the kids actually like it.

Yelp
First time trying King Poke. We've been in Torrance for over a year now and just checking this spot out in Lomita. It's Sooo good. It's affordable and they even have stamp cards! I love that! The tuna tasted fresh. I'll be back.

Yelp
Poke so good it makes you wanna slap your momma! Service is fast and friendly. A nice casual meal.
google avatar

Nisha B.

Yelp
If I knew how good this was, I would have gotten a large!!!! Flavors on point! Taste was amazing!! Store front looked a little run down I will be back for sure! I got the small "poke bowl" with everything I added fried onions, wonton strips (really an indulgence- not needed next time) and garlic! And shoyu seasoning Pls note- this is on an incredibly busy portion of pch! But they have parking Thank you! Enjoyed this!

D J.

Yelp
Used to come to this place a lot but it seems the portion has gone down while the price went up. Ordered a large poke bowl but the amount of poke was like the size of a small. 3/4 rice with less than a scoop of poke is just not what you would expect for a large size. Time to find a new place
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
This is definitely my favorite poke in the area. I like how you don't have to choose your proteins since each bowl already comes with salmon, tuna, albacore, etc... You just pick your toppings and sauce base. I think when you give someone too many options, it just gets too overwhelming. By simplifying the menu, it makes it more appealing in my opinion. The fish quality was great and I really enjoyed my poke bowl. I'll definitely be back! The cuts of fish were generous and you can tell it's quality.
google avatar

Paul C.

Yelp
They were closed for a bit (vacation?) and I was forced to try some other poke places in the South Bay... which pretty much reinforced my opinion that king poke is the best. Ambiance: it's a small, spartan. Not unlike what you'd find in Hawaii. It's so cal, get it to go and eat in one of the local parks Food: the best value for money in poke to be had. Quality ingredients , generous portions and reasonable prices. It doesn't get any better than this
google avatar

Laura K.

Yelp
Stopped here during lunch, it was a refreshing and quick bite to eat. It was interesting how each poke bowl contains all types of meat (salmon, tuna, albacore etc), but you could request to make it all one type of fish if desired. It gave a great variety. I also appreciated the numerous toppings they had - but to pay a large fee for seaweed salad was disappointing since that is standard at most places. The sizes of the bowls were a little smaller than I would have liked. I ordered a large and it felt like a small-medium at some other poke places I have visited.
google avatar

Steve G.

Yelp
Truly the king Always high quality fish and generous portions. This is my go to for poke bowls for sure. Try it, you will love it!

Jeannie C.

Yelp
Best poke bowl in town. Fresh fish. I've been coming here for years and it is always consistently yummy! Love, love the homemade hot sauce
google avatar

Laura L.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, it's close to my house, thank God. I moved here and wanted a spot like this, and we got it. Tonight I had the fried salmon salad. Although it was small and I wish I could double it, it was absolutely delicious! Great for a weight loss journey. No rice! Could I get skittle more salmon please?
google avatar

Alexis R.

Yelp
Fantastic service. The food was excellent. The charge for toppings is quite a bit. I've never heard of edamame as a $2 add-on. I've been to plenty poké places because I miss the ones in Waianae and this is definitely my favorite local one.
google avatar

Susana L.

Yelp
I have visited this establishment 5 times so far. I do not like raw fish but my co-worker loves this place so I normally order the veggie bowl with spicy ponzu sauce and extra avocado. I get the crispy onions, cilantro and seaweed as toppings. The price is perfect and I normally get a large. The flavors are amazing and I love this bowl so much that I normally ask to come here! Staff are always attentive and food is always ready very quickly. I've ordered in person, over the phone and online. Online is probably the easiest and fastest way to order. My friend raves about her bowl and states that this is the best poke she has had in Cali! Give it a try if you're in the area!
google avatar

Eunice A.

Yelp
Poke wasn't too bad and service was good! It was decently priced. This place has a lot so parking shouldn't be an issue.
google avatar

Shanyn B.

Yelp
I've had a lot of poke and this was my least favorite. Ordered a medium poke bowl with ponzu and spicy mayo. I also added spicy the tuna for an additional charge. The bowl lacked flavor and left so much to be desired. I would not return. Staff was extremely nice though!
google avatar

Saphace A.

Yelp
Found out about this spot from a Yelper's review saying this was one of the best poke spots they had tried! The parking lot in the front is tiny! They have parking at the back too. When we walked in, there were a few customers dining in, but most were waiting for to go orders. Customers continued to come in and out of the restaurant. Pretty hoppin' place! You order at the counter then they call your number. ***Theres a 25 cent charge if you order less than $12 on a credit card, so keep that in mind!! My sisters and cousin got the spicy tuna bowl, while I got the poke bowl, which had 3 types of fish. Lots of toppings already come with the bowls, but you can add more. The bowls also come in 3 sizes: small, medium, and large. Which one is bang for your buck? I'm not sure since the bowls only looked marginally different from each other. I liked my sister's spicy tuna more than my poke bowl. I didn't want all the sauces that they added on mine. And for me, salmon sometimes tastes a bit more bland than tuna, for some reason. Prices were pretty reasonable. It's bang for your buck. Overall, not a bad option to have in the area!
google avatar

Hao W.

Yelp
King Poke is a super affordable poke place compared to others ones I have tried. For the large size (9 oz of fish) it's about $16 bucks. There's plenty of other places that charge that for a medium size. Fish tasted fresh and lots of customization in terms of carb/salad, sauces and toppings. Only down side is the fish are pre selected - so you can't pick like all salmon if you wanted to. Tiny parking lot in the front, but apparently there's a parking lot in the back as well. We love dining here right before we go to Trader Joe's that's like 2 blocks away.
google avatar

Molly H.

Yelp
Fresh, high quality fish in an unassuming location. Menu/ordering could be simplified, but great for takeout. Parking can be challenging.
google avatar

Saif R.

Yelp
Solid and fresh poke bowl. Very well balanced and I really like how they take the stress out of picking a poke bowl since they already have a preset poke bowl where you just pick the sauces and extra toppings. There's a ton of variety of the poke bowl as well and not just the typical pick two scoops. Prices were fair and typical as to other poke bowl places I've been to. The parking lot is super small, so definitely check out the parking lot in the back since it's hidden and not many people park there.
google avatar

Giovanni R.

Yelp
Food is very tasteful and the fish tacos were great. Salmon plate is also amazing if you're interested in a cooked option and feels very fresh with the salad and side options it comes with.
google avatar

Zeeshan Q.

Yelp
King Poke has some very delicious and fresh poke. I really appreciate how their regular bowls are preset, with you just choosing size, sauces, and extra toppings. The fish is nice and delicious, sauces are very savory, and the rice is nice and warm. Prices are also reasonable. Overall if you can deal with the traffic in the area King Poke is worth a try. Ps they have a parking lot in the back, since the lot in front is very small!
google avatar

Reagan B.

Yelp
Great spot! Good fish, rice, and sauces. I always feel good after eating here and they have a lot of variety to spice up the poke meal.

Lisa H.

Yelp
Been coming here for the past 5 years or so. The best poke in the South Bay! Only poke in Hawaii is better/similar. Personally I prefer the flavors here over Jus' Poke.
google avatar

Grant S.

Yelp
The best poke in South Bay, hands down. Truly the king of poke within the area. There's a few things that separate King Poke from other poke places. Unlike other "make your own bowl" style poke places, King Poke had a premade menu and you can add up to 3 sides for free. Every order is made absolutely fresh and that includes the sides. I've ordered their fried garlic and wontons many times, and you can taste how fresh they are. One extra positive for me is that orders through Yelp always come out faster than their expected time. From the freshly cut fish, to the steaming hot rice and sides, there's no reason to choose anywhere else for Poke.
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Recently, I have reviewed a few other poke places. I mentioned that King Poke has been the best so far in my opinion. I still stand by this today. My dad mentioned this place to me. I went with him to go check it out. We get there and had to park across the street on Pennsylvania Ave as the parking lot is very small. But I had no complaints as I like walking. I was surprised at how colorful the menu was. It took me some time to figure out how to order since this isn't your usual "the size determines how many proteins you get" poke place. What makes it unique is that no matter what size you get, you get all of their proteins. You choose your base, sauce, and toppings. I got a medium bowl with sushi rice, spicy mayo, deep fried onion, shredded seaweed, and ginger. There was a good amount of seating inside, including one table outside for 2 people. The bowl was very delicious with a diversity of all proteins. The toppings and sauce make it mix good together. You do get your buck for what you order. I highly recommend coming to this local poke gem in Lomita. I will be back!
google avatar

Tammy V.

Yelp
I mean if you're looking for a decent poke bowl this place is not bad. The inside smells like body odor, probably because they don't have any AC sadly. This place is not like super dirty but it's not like the nicest. Service is okay it's a little slow but they do get busy so it's understandable. I think they need more sauce varieties or give more sauce. It's not bad, it's just not the best I wouldn't come back but I would try. It's one of those places :) If they fix the interior then I feel like it would be better and they'll be able to draw in more customers!! I mean do come support though they just opened back up because the owner was sick. The quality of the fish is decent :)
google avatar

Mary Anna M.

Yelp
Came back recently and was disappointed. Got the same thing I used to get before, but taste-wise it definitely wasn't as good as it was before. Parking is harder than I remember it being. We visited on the weekday this time and had trouble finding a spot. Parking isn't typically a problem in this area and their parking lot is relatively small. Something worth considering if you are visiting. Maybe I will update again if we come back.
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
Very good bowl with so many different flavors. Their prices have gone up quite a bit since the last time I had got them.
google avatar

Sammy C.

Yelp
Best poke bowl. Have to try their hot sauce. I always get the spicy ponzu with crispy garlic and friend onions.
google avatar

Alana A.

Yelp
Great poke bowl for a great price. I always come here because it's so good. They simplify the menu and make it easy to navigate.
google avatar

L T.

Yelp
Best Poke place in town. My go to spicy Tuna bowl. Service is great with a smile. Love the ambiance and great music and lots of room to sit down and eat. Will continue to come back and enjoy my Spicy Tuna Bowl with harusame Noodles.

Anthony S.

Yelp
My favorite poke of all time, especially the original poke bowl with everything on it. I've had poke at so many other places, yet King Poke takes the cake everytime.
google avatar

Katrina V.

Yelp
Portion and price have gone up. I feel like the value of dining out has impacted a lot of my fave food spots. The side tacos was small considering and was bland. I felt they skimped the portion on the medium sized bowl. Flavor was lack luster considering I used to frequent this place
