"White Dashi Ramen, the marquee dish, is unusual for its clear soup. Seafood such as dried sardines, kombu and katsuo-bushi (dried bonito flakes) impart umami to the ramen’s soup and homemade flat noodles. The distinctive curl of the hand-rolled noodles imparts a definite twist to the texture. Also popular is the sansho (Japanese pepper) ramen with its invigorating fragrance. For your topping, we recommend the wontons stuffed with lashings of shrimp or pork filling." - Michelin Inspector

I thought this will be really similar to Nishino since they are sister shops selling similar items but nope i was wrong, King Seimen is leaps and bounds better than Nishino. the soup here is deeper and more flavorful and the thicker rustic hand made noodles removed the need to ask for harder noodles since it came with a nice natural chew. Nishino was really disappointing to me from how soggy the noodle got as we can’t ask for harder noodles. im not a fan of japanese style wanton in general since they feel more than boiled dimsum than the wanton im used to in singapore, so i shall sit out of rating it, but the wanton here is still the usual japanese style wantons and people seem to love it. i really like the chashu and little bunch of komatsuna and rhe soup and noodle combination made me so happy while eating it. this is a bow i will crave again and i cant wait to be back again

King Seimen is located in a quiet residential area near the Oji Station. Went there 30 minutes before its closing time on a weekday and there was still a queue. Ordered the Tokusei Sansho ramen (Japanese pepper ramen with all toppings); and the Sansho gives a heightened accent which adds to the flavour of the soup. Like most shops from the Koike group, King seimen offers high quality noodles. The thick chewy noodles here are quite remarkable and definitely live up to my expectation of the Koike group.

Very good test. Soup is very delicious . Dumplings are full of meat or shrimp .

The sansho ramen is made with dried sardines, kombu seaweed, and bonito flakes in a white broth with a faint aroma of sansho pepper and homemade flat noodles. By topping with meat wonton and shrimp wonton, you can taste the basics of King Seimen. A soup noodle worth going to Oji to eat ramen. You might drink up the soup:-)

Delicate with wontons! Handmade noodles at shop, different than others. Select chewiness, I got the combo with 2 shrimp 2 pork wontons. It’s was raining hard and the store gave me an umbrella to use!

I know this while searching for nearby Michelin restaurant. It’s top 100 ramen shop in Japan. Arrive at 11:15 and wait for 15 minutes. There is about 10 seats in the shop, so not recommend for family who has small child. The noodle is good, I can feel dashi taste strongly.

Now I know why it’s so famous! In love with the ramen here. They also provide the half cooked ingredients for take-away. Only issue is that you might have to wait in line for long and their is no reservation system but it’s all worth it !

The egg is very tasty, the handmade noodle is unique, other ingredients are fresh. However, nothing brings it out of the crown.
