We had an incredible eight-day stay at the King Sitric in mid-July, and now I know firsthand why it’s rated #1 for accommodations in Howth. Our room was spacious, and the view of the water was wonderful. The Sitric provided a great base for exploring Howth and the surrounding costal area, including Dublin. The train station is a mere two blocks away, and we took it often using a seven-day pass that we purchased before our trip (very easy to do on-line.) Another plus, the taxi from the airport was so fast and simple and only 50 euro with tip, but one could also take the train. Although The Sitric restaurant is “the best” — we ate there four times — there are also a number of other good choices near by. Everything is so fresh… oysters, lobster, fish. (I should note that a made-to-order breakfast is included, and the choices are fresh and satisfying, and a great way to start each day.) And the best for last — the staff was top-notch and very accommodating. ||I will add that we travel all over the world, and we found this small boutique hotel to be such a refreshing experience in which to enjoy Ireland. My only suggestion — stay at the Sitric for more than a day or two. You’ll be glad you did…
