The Hubby and I tried King Steak for the first time. First off, I really loved the aesthetics—it feels like dining in a fancy treehouse with lots of natural light. It’s small and cozy, but in the best way. We started with the meatballs, which were delicious, though the sauce had a bit of an odd aftertaste for me. The Hubby loved them.
The steak was good, but with only two options on the menu—which is surprising given the name—you expect them to get it just right. Mine was slightly overcooked. I always gauge a steakhouse by whether they can truly deliver a perfect medium rare. So far, only Credence and Steak 48 nail it every single time. That said, the steak was still flavorful.
When it came to dessert, they only have one option. The waitress was a bit dismissive and said something like, 'We only have one dessert—I’m sure you’re not interested.' For the record, the dessert is basically a bazooki like the ones from BJ’s, which my eldest used to absolutely love when he was a kid.
Service is a big deal for me. While the waitress was a little off-putting, the floor manager was excellent and very attentive, which helped balance things out. The hostess was very nice also. Overall, it was a good experience, and we’ll definitely return.
