King Steak

I brought my wife here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and everything was top notch from the service to the food! The wait staff was very tentative, professional, and polite. The restaurant even provided us each with a special “Happy Anniversary” menu. We shared a an appetizer, salad, and a few sides. For our entrees I got the 22oz Cowboy Ribeye and my wife got the Steak and Shrimp. Everything we tried off the menu was excellent and cooked just as requested. The dessert cookie was also very very good. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend!

The staff is amazing. They are very attentive and interact well with the patrons. The service was impeccable. You should not expect the bare minimum. They are warm and welcoming but with high standards. They are funny and friendly. The food exceptional! I got filet and immediately said “The chefs need a raise.” I was happy they do specials. For example today’s thanksgiving special creative way to get customers to enjoy their food! I really suggest this place.

One of a kind experience. Completely seed oil free menu, how about that!? Honestly, the main reason we came here. Everything cooked in beef tallow. Heard about this joint from a Houston food blogger and had to check it out for myself. Took my family here for my birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. Custom menus when we arrived with the words “Happy Birthday” on there and had the privilege to meet all of the owners and head chefs who shook my hand and called me by name. From the service to the food to the ambiance, everything was top notch. This is now my favorite steak joint in the city and we most certainly will be back PLUS, you know we’ll be shouting their name from the rooftops! 22 oz bone in ribeye was perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth, the tallow fried French fries were out of this world and the crispy fried Brussels sprouts were awwwww lawddddd! Jalapeño hash browns are a must have off the menu. This is the new standard people. Thank you King Steak!

I absolutely 💯 loved my steak. I got the 14 oz Texas Strip, which is a NY Strip essentially. So flavorful, no sauce needed, although they do offer a handful of steak sauces, like Bernaise, etc. It came with carrots and broccolini. I got medium rare, so if I had any to take home, if I warm it again it will be perfect tasting the next day. It did not disappoint. Delicious the next day. My friends got 6 oz filet mignon and one got a steak chopper salad, and chocolate mousse for dessert. So light and creamy. I loved my steak more than Pappa Bros steakhouse. The salmon and tuna seared is supposed to be good as well. Would like to go on date night there.

The entire experience was amazing. The strip steak was cooked to perfection. Our server Justin didn't skip a beat on the service. The manager Erick came and checked on us as well. The ambiance was warm and inviting. This place is a "Must Try". You won't be disappointed.

Eric was the perfect host…warm, attentive, and made us feel like VIPs from the moment we walked in. And Chris behind the bar? He didn’t skip a beat. Every drink was on point, crafted with skill and personality. And as a non-steak eater, I have to say this: the chicken piccata was NEXT LEVEL. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. If you think you have to be a steak lover to enjoy this place, trust me, try it. From start to finish, the experience was flawless. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go. Came here for Houston Restaurant Weeks 2025. A great way to try several dishes. Between the two of us, we were able to try/share 8 dishes! For apps, we got the rock shrimp and guacamole/bacon. Probably the best guac I've had - nice and chunky! We tried both the traditional and beet salads, both light and delicious. For entrees, we got the filet and short rib. The short rib was the winner here - super tender, fall apart. And to end the meal, we got the butter cake and half baked cookie - OH MY!! What a way to finish off an amazing meal. Both were winners! The service was lovely and not intrusive. The place itself is stunning, with comfy booths and a nice bar in the middle of the room. They have private rooms available which look so inviting! King Steak will thrive in this location and we can't wait to come back!

MUST TRY AMAZING EXPERIENCE 😊 Corinne & the entire staff took great care of us. We did the HRW menu which didn’t disappoint. Everything was so tasty and seasoned right and good portion size. Service was outstanding. The owner checked in on us, true fine dining experience. Putting King Steak in my rotation. Valet $6 or you can self park in garage.

Can you say perfection?! This meal was an unforgettable combination of delicious flavors paired with beautifully presented dishes that awakened all my senses. From the first bite to the last sip, everything was absolutely on point. If you're coming to Houston, this fabulous restaurant is a must. The customer service is top-tier--warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. And the drinks? If you can think of it, they can make it--crafted to perfection every time. Abigail was a very attentive server and the manager Eric's attention to detail was close to perfection. The ambiance was equally impressive--thoughtfully designed and able to complement any occasion, whether it's a romantic night out, a celebratory dinner, or just a relaxing evening with friends. This spot has officially earned a place on my favorites list. Don't miss it!

Chose king steak for our weekday happy hour. We arrived right after opening on Wednesday, the bartender seemed to still be setting up. Our small group of 3 were the only ones in the establishment for a while, the bartender was not even a little friendly and even made me feel uncomfortable. First he seemed surprised when we arrived, almost as if he was taken back by guests arriving within 10-15 minutes of opening (despite it being business hours). It was my first time there and I wanted to see the drink menu, well he rushed me by asking 3 different times what I wanted in the span of 3 minutes. He was very standoffish and didn't make any small talk with us whatsoever, he took our food order and when I suggested that steak bites would be a great addition to their HH food menu, he laughed and responded "well if you want steak, you should just order a steak". Again, we were only there for happy hour and we ordered appetizers to share, no one ordered an entree. The ambience was already off but the bartender's response just made it awkward. I hurried and finished my drink and got out of there as soon as I could. The food was good but due to my experience I am in no rush to return. There are many restaurants and fine dining establishments in the area to choose from where good service is included.

We had such a great dinner at this steakhouse. One of the things we really appreciate is that they don't use seed oils. It's clear they care about quality ingredients. The food was excellent and the service matched it perfectly. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, scallops, filet mignon, bone-in cowboy ribeye, and Ora King salmon. For sides, we had the jalapeno hash browns, mushrooms, and french fries. Everything was delicious and cooked just right. The wine selection was also fantastic, and paired beautifully with our meal. Although we had 2 small children with us, the staff and manager were so kind and accommodating. Even the owner was there and took time to be so kind to our children, which truly made us feel welcome. Definitely save room for dessert! We ordered the large cookie topped with a scoop of ice cream, it was the perfect sweet ending to a wonderful meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, thoughtful service, and a warm atmosphere.

As someone who travels often, it is really hard to find great restaurants. I would come back to this restaurant in my next opportunity to come to Houston. Food was excellent service was even better

Beautiful steakhouse in front of the BBVA Compass Plaza building. Firstly, the service and staff were so extremely accommodating. We requested a larger table for a table of 6 and they immediately moved us to a larger, private area. Customer service is so important to make a place memorable- so thank you King Steak staff (Eric and Justin). The food was fantastic. I'm a huge fan of spinach artichoke dip and I would say their spinach artichoke dip is now my favorite in Houston. Meatball appetizer were huge- very shareable. I got the short rib- it was tender, flavorful. They also cooked the filet to perfection- perfect medium rare and seasoned just right. Do not skip their dessert! I would definitely add this place to my regular rotation.

The service here was amazing. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambience is very upscale and nice. Love the bar area and cannot wait to go back when it cools down so they open all the windows. The food was amazing 10 out of 10. I will definitely be back to try their regular menu. Stars of the show was the short rib and the cookie the treasure cocktail was also my favorite drink of the night.

I was invited to the soft opening by a friend. The name seemed a little ridiculous, but who doesn't want to give a new potential hot spot a try. It was a mom & dad's night out, so we were excited to have some great food and beverages. Upon entering the decor was excellent. Definitely seemed well thought out, even the plates were bespoke (see my photos from the night). The menu was unique for a Houston steakhouse. They had chicken parm! I've seen this in other Mid-West Steakhouses, but not in Texas. We ended up giving that a try. If you are putting it on your steakhouse menu, you must be confident at how delicious it is. Wow, so delicious. We also split the Caesar, another WOW. There was some passed apps that came because of the soft opening. Everyone of them were so delicious. The service was great. They did not seem to have the first week jitters that I have experienced at so many restaurants and bar. The wine was delicious and not too badly marked up. King Steak definitely stands out versus the other Houston steakhouses. Will I be back? Definitely.

Came here for Restaurant Week. We've never heard of the restaurant and seen it on the list. Great decision. Everything was so good and tasteful, we'll be coming here regularly

Honestly, I enjoyed everything! Ambiance is upscale, but I wouldn't come on a romantic date if you want a subdued, quiet atmosphere. It's boisterous--I think it's loud bc of the glass everywhere, which honestly contributes to it being such a beautiful restaurant. We had calamari, Caesar salad, short ribs, and salmon. Those short ribs are incredible, can't get any better! And the salmon was cooked to perfection. We ended up choosing the "skillet" cookie with ice cream since it's been apparently ordered many times, but we were disappointed. I was expecting something similar to Tiny's cookie skillet. This thing is HUGE, so def shareable, but lacking the moisture I was expecting. Oh well. Nbd bc I enjoyed it so much. Our party had plenty of drinks and loved them. Service is on point! Will definitely be coming back!

My girl and I met some friends here last night and they had taken care of the reservations, so I was hesitant at first on how much I'd enjoy(I'm a extremely snobby sushi/steak guy and have my specific joints in town I prefer). Well suprise suckas, it was absolutely awesome. Up front, they use ZERO SEED OILS, which is important to us as we are both pretty health conscious. I had the filet, and my girl had the salmon, then we all split like 4 apps but the memorable ones to us were the rock shrimp and the absolute most tender meatball with a bright marinara that was knock your socks off good. I don't really ever drink so I stuck to bottle water w lemon but the martinis and manhattans are solid from the others experience. Glad to know we have another top notch steak joint in the city.

Food was delicious! Wanted to check out this place because it's brand new and man it's yummy! The steak was probably my favorite thing we ordered but everything tasted good. Only downside I would say is the volume in the restaurant. I went with my family to celebrate my brother's birthday, and we could barely hear each other across the table because of how loud it was. Other than that great experience!

This restaurant boasts they are seed oil free, right on the menu!! I am extremely sensitive to seed oils, so dining out is very challenging for me. I had 0 inflammation after eating here, they are the real deal. The owner was present and chatted with us about ridding the kitchen of plastics and other harmful things as well. 100% onboard with what this establishment stands for! Overall great dining experience too. Service was top notch, and I felt the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and experience. I will be returning soon. We sat near the bar area and the aesthetic is beautiful with lots of large windows.

King Steak is a great addition to Houston and the Galleria area. Delicious food. Professional & attentive service. Well-mixed cocktails. We will be back! Food - we were very impressed with the Chicken Parmesan, Brussel Sprouts, Guacamole, Beef Tallow Fries, and the Salmon. Portions are hardy, you will not go away hungry. Cocktails - Extra Dry Martini with 3 olives (delicious!) Justin (our waiter) was a delight - attentive, professional, and had great recommendations. Ambiance - great for a business lunch, birthday dinner, or group happy hour hang out. Music was a little loud but that's a personal preference. Attire - Smart Casual to Dressy. Manager wearing ties and jackets.

New favorite steak house in Houston! There are plenty of gluten free options which is a huge bonus for me (not sure if they're celiac safe). The filet with the blue cheese fondue was life changing. So were the tallow fries. My husband really enjoyed his TX strip as well! The servers were all so nice and helpful. We came for my birthday and they even gave me a free chocolate mousse. Came on a Monday night and it wasn't empty but also wasn't super crowded. It wasn't too loud which was nice but still felt lively. Will definitely be back soon!!

I got the steak and shrimp and my wife got the short rib. Both are amazing! Service is top-notch with a great ambience.. I highly recommend this restaurant for a great steak dinner.

From the moment you walk in til the moment you leave , you are treated like family. I recommend it for that special occasion, ( first date, anniversary, or just because today you need a great meal) the staff and owners are first class , and are 100% dedicated to your dining experience. I can't so enough about this place , the food , or the staff.

The filet and spinach artichoke dip were great. Do not miss the jumbo chocolate chip cookie dessert.

Oh. My. God. Everything was amazing. From the valet guys to the hostess to the food runners to the servers! Everything was great. The owner/manager assisted the host stand as we came in and he checked on us a couple of times. My friend and I ordered from HRW menu and we were not disappointed. The service and food exceeded our expectations! Iris was our server. We will be back.

14 oz. Sirloin was as good as I have tasted. The seared Tuna was also excellent as was the beet salad. I was surprised the crowd on a Saturday night was a bit thin; this restaurant deserves better, but maybe the word is not yet out. There is a separate building that houses the bar and some restaurant seating in front of the main building that houses the kitchen and additional seating. Ask to be seated in the front building; it is very inviting.

I have to say the food was mediocre the bar/front of the restaurant is beautiful. The back is like meeting rooms. The bartender needed to pick up the pace . We had the chop salad. It was very mediocre, bacon wrapped scallops totally ruined the scallops by wrapping the bacon around it, but they were cooked perfect and we had the artichoke dip. It was OK at the most.. was hoping that Johnny would bring something fabulous like you did back in the day. I don't see this place happening so sorry.

Went their last night with friends. Welcoming staff, great food, and modern atmosphere. They are smart, their menu is what people really are looking for and is excellently prepared. They know how to make a cocktail. I see this restaurant on my list.

The steak and cookie dessert were amazing! The service was incredible. Our drinks were always filled and they checked on us multiple times. The place itself was nice and we had a nice dinner here.

I took a very special guest to dine at Kings Steakhouse and when I arrived I was met by Eric who warmly greeted us. We ate several appetizers of which the presentation and flavor were superb. The wine choice was also the right choice to compliment the steak choice. I ordered the Texas Strip and my guest ordered Ora King Salmon. we then ordered the jalapena hashbrowns that we ate and wanted to take it home for the next morning for breakfast. Johnny V came to our table to greet us which was a treat as he is really a legend in the business. My experience during our visit to Kings Steakhouse will not be the last as I am planning on entertaining all my special guests that arrive in Houston and this is the place I will be delivering my guests to so that they can ENJOY a great dinner and experience professionalism when it comes to fine dining. Food was terrific and great vibe. Had 12 ounce filet cooked perfectly. Others in party had the Tuna, Short rib and ribeye. Everyone loved their meal and sides. Highlight was the caviar bump. Congrats to Bobby and Johnny V.
