Food Service Workers Across the U.S. Share Coronavirus Shutdown Stories | Eater

"A newly opened restaurant that had just completed training and opened to the public on March 9 was forced to cease dine-in service on March 15 and move to takeout only; staff faced immediate uncertainty. Although it currently appears possible that employees will be rehired when reopening occurs, the timing is unknown, leaving workers terrified and anxious about their livelihoods." - Jaya Saxena

If you’re in EADO you have to stop by Kings on Hutchins. No matter what you’re looking for you can find it here. This is the best spot to hang out with your friends/family or party watching your favorite sports game. This is the place to be. The service here is AMAZING and unmatched. Ashley and G are the absolute best! They always remember my order and even when it’s packed they are always quick. If you’re hungry, Ozzy in the kitchen is going to rock your taste buds. I’ve had everything on the menu but the Nashville hot chicken sliders will have you asking for seconds. If you don’t stop by Kings you’re missing out!!

This was a pit stop after we did a run with one of Houston's running clubs, Freaks. The drinks were good, and pricing was decent. We had 4 bears for $13. Bonus, they have a barber shop right outside as well that came in clutch for a quick beard shape and trim. Our barber was Cheto and was great.

Great bar. Best spot for Dynamo pre game and after game! Didn't have any food (yet) but all other patrons said food was great!

Delicious!!! Theres a hidden patio, make your way to the top. Curry fries, butter chicken and everything was delicious and HUGE. Amazing service too, they knew the menu items and offered great options and opinions. Enjoy.

Great food, friendly staff, and good selection of local and imported beer. Great chill spot for fans of any sport. Also good for parties, and even has a decked out patio for more cozier events. Try their Keema fries, you'll love it.

Good spot after #TourDeTaco. They have a room for your bikes and also have a variety of t.v’s for game nights. On-site Monterrey style fresh tacos as so freaking DELICIOUS. Nice chill spot though.

I did like thea Chicken Tikka. It seems to get super busy though, when there are soccer shenanigans, so the food can take awhile to come out, but it was pretty quick when the ruckus died down. There's a screen setup on which you watch games if you're into that sort if thing... Which I am.

Yelp
Sometimes the most unexpected of experiences are the best ones. After a networking event in EaDo, followed by dinner, me and my buddy were walking to our cars. At that point, he discovered that there was a boot on his car in the parking lot he had parked in. My brilliant friend put his phone number in rather than his license plate number which led to the predicament. Being the good friend I am, I kept him company while he was waiting for the "boot guy" to arrive. King's Court was right across the street so we decided hey, why not. Service (5/5): They were understaffed that evening so the owner was working behind the bar. He was a personable guy and made us feel right at home. Given the predicament that my buddy was in, he hooked us up with a heavy discount. Service at its finest in a casual environment. Ambiance (3/5): King's Court sounds like it's straight out of King Arthur or Ren Fest. Medieval times is not the theme though. It's divey. And it's a large bar. There's a small patio, a rooftop, seating at the bar, and plenty of space outside of that. There are bar games like that punching game one. It's not the most picturesque of bars, but it's one where you're going to have a good time. Food (N/A): We had dinner prior but the bartender told us they typically have wings. I love wings. Next time around. Drinks (4/5): Full bar. I don't think they have a cocktail list but the bartender gives you a heavy pour. Which is always appreciated. They even had Sunny D. So you know I had to make a cocktail out of it. You're not going to find craft cocktails here. But you will find stiff drinks. I'm happy to be the first to review this watering hole. It's a little bit off the beaten path in EaDo (since it's on a side street) away from the strip where all of the bars and restaurants are, but it's a short walk away. Check it out and support an awesome business owner!
