The Best Chicken Wings In San Francisco, Ranked - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The angel wings at this late-night Thai spot in the Richmond are plump bites of bliss. They’re fried until the outside is magnificently crunchy while the inside remains juicy as hell. They’re also coated in a sweet spicy garlic chili oil that’ll just stick to your hands (it’s okay because you’ll happily lick it all off). Order a plate for the table, eat it with the som-tum, and then go home and pass out on your couch." - lani conway, julia chen 1, patrick wong

The Best Late Night Restaurants In San Francisco - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"If you find yourself in a wine bar time warp at High Treason in the Richmond and it’s suddenly 11pm, run to King’s Thai Cuisine #2 before they close at midnight. As far as we’re concerned, this is the only Thai spot that’s worth checking out in both a drunken stupor and during the blinding daylight hours. Get a table full of pad see ew and the extra-hot papaya salad to wake you up, and order the crispy chicken wings if you’re looking to meet a deity sometime soon." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The 15 Best Thai Restaurants In San Francisco

"King's Thai Cuisine #2 is a late-night spot—which in SF terms means open until midnight (yes, this city goes to bed early). So, pull up with a group after a night out for simple, no-fuss Thai classics, like pad see ew with perfectly cooked noodles, and spicy red curry that’s served up faster than you can register how drunk you actually are. If you come during the day—and avoid the rowdy groups coming home to this hearty-food promised land—this place is still buzzing. Families and locals gather around wooden tables, drinking Chang beers and eating out-of-this-world crispy chicken wings doused in a slightly-spicy chili sauce that coats your mouth in the best way. King’s Thai Cuisine #2 - Review - Richmond - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This low-key spot in the Richmond is a rare everyday late-night destination in a city that goes to bed early and wakes up late. Come here any day before midnight for dependable Thai classics like pad see ew and a red curry that will quickly infiltrate your dreams. You can stroll in here last-minute by yourself or with a group of 15 and always find a table that you can fill up to your heart’s desire. For the best experience, order a Chang beer and some crispy chicken wings that will make you reconsider whether every other wing you've ever had was an un-fried lie." - Ricky Rodriguez

I was really looking forward to trying King's Thai after a friend recommended highly, but to be honest, I'd found everything that came out of the kitchen - including even the Thai iced tea - to be disappointing. Since it was my first time, I stayed with some basics: som tum, pad see ew and pineapple fried rice. The som tum was... fine. Not sliced thinly enough and the flavor didn't hit as I am used to. The pad see ew was also adequate - probably the best of the three dishes but nothing spectacular. And the pineapple fried rice was bland. Even the Thai iced tea was watered down in its flavor, so this place is lucky to even get three stars from me. The service was good - absolutely no complaints there. We were served immediately, and the server got the order (which had some particular twists) 100% right. Frankly put: in a place like San Francisco, you could throw a rock and hit three Thai places with better food than this.

Great food and service! We got chicken satay, fried chicken over fried rice and pad kee-mao. Food was tasty and good value for money. Definitely recommend!

Google
Nice, clean Thai spot. We ordered the duck salad, crab fried rice, and panang curry with pork. The duck salad came out right away, but not enough greens. Decent portion of duck, but would be nice to not run out of cabbage or lettuce. The panang curry was mild in flavor, not the usual panang curry I had in other places. Crab salad was our favorite. Three dishes for two people, with a little bit of leftover. The menu is extensive. I would come back to try other items, like the noodle soup.

Google
Good Thai food that will get the job done. Service was good and location great. Not the best Thai I've had but cannot complain at all. I'd give a 4.5 stars if I could.

Google
I had a disappointing experience that highlights how poor service recovery can overshadow good food. I ordered a vegetarian dish that arrived promptly and tasted delicious. However, halfway through my meal, I realized it wasn’t what I had ordered. When I brought this to my server’s attention, she quickly confirmed that she had entered the wrong order. She was apologetic and offered to prepare the correct dish to go, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the manager’s response completely undermined the server’s effort to make things right. When the check arrived, I was charged for both dishes. After explaining the situation, the manager’s initial solution was to charge me for “half” of the incorrect meal because I had eaten some of it. His reasoning? I “should have noticed earlier because eggplant is purple.” While he eventually removed the charge for the wrong dish, his parting comment was telling: “I’ll do it for you this time…” as if he were doing me a personal favor rather than correcting his restaurant’s mistake. This response shows a fundamental misunderstanding of customer service. Mistakes happen, but how a restaurant handles them reveals their true character. Making a customer feel like they should be grateful for not being charged for the restaurant’s error, while suggesting it’s somehow the customer’s fault for not immediately identifying an ingredient, is unacceptable. The food was good, but I won’t be returning due to management’s poor handling of a simple mistake that could have been easily resolved with grace.

Best Thai place in town of SF open late. I like Pumpkin Curry from here the most out of all places in SF. Open late for all people to eat in SF.

Google
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a fantastic Thai restaurant that exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service, which set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. For my meal, I started with the duck noodles. The dish was a symphony of flavors, with tender, succulent duck pieces nestled in perfectly cooked noodles. The broth was rich and aromatic, making every bite a delight. Next, I tried the chicken with cashew nuts and rice. This dish was a perfect balance of textures and flavors. The chicken was juicy and well-seasoned, complemented by the crunch of fresh cashew nuts. The accompanying rice was fluffy and cooked to perfection, making it a satisfying and hearty dish. Finally, I indulged in the green curry with chicken and rice. The curry was a masterpiece, with a creamy, spicy sauce that was both vibrant and comforting. The chicken was tender and absorbed the curry's flavors beautifully, while the rice served as the perfect accompaniment to soak up every bit of the delicious sauce. In addition to the fantastic food, the restaurant’s service was outstanding. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of excellent. I also appreciated that the restaurant stays open late, making it a great option for a late-night meal. Overall, I highly recommend this Thai restaurant for its delicious food, excellent service, and convenient hours. It’s a place I’ll definitely be returning to soon!

Google
I have been coming here for years, but this was my first time back after several years. I am happy to report that their duck fried rice is still as delicious as before. On this recent visit, we also ordered pumpkin chicken curry, and pork rad nar. The curry was nice and full of flavor. The rad nar was just average. There was a little too much sauce for my liking and the noodles were missing the smokiness that comes from a scorching hot wok. The duck fried rice, however, will keep me coming back.

Yelp
This review is definitely long overdue. This place brings back so many memories! It used to be one of my old stomping grounds for late night eats! Thai food was always the go to back then, where it was quick, easy, and reliable. The service was fast, never a wait, and it hit the spot every time. This isn't one of those fancy or bougie Thai restaurants you see nowadays. This is the kind of spot only native SF people knew about back in the day. It was in a prime location too. Perfect for grabbing Thai food, then walking over to Genki for crepes or down to 6th and Clement for boba. My go to was the Pad Kee Mao with beef, and it never let me down. It came out fast, piping hot, and packed with flavor. The noodles were plentiful, and the portions were generous. Nothing skimpy or reheated here. I'm honestly just happy to see this place still standing. If you're looking for a simple, no frills, quick, and affordable Thai spot that doesn't try too hard, this is it! A true local gem.

Yelp
I love that duck can be used as a protein in noodles and curry, which isn't very common. Usually restaurants only offer a one-off duck curry dish, but this time I was able to be creative and combine duck with pad thai and red curry. The curry portion was substantial, much larger than what I've experienced at other curry places in San Francisco. Rice is also included in the price, making the total for a curry and rice dinner less than $20, which I find extremely valuable. The pad thai was decent, but nothing really stood out to me. However, I appreciated the generous amount of protein in the dish. I did find the noodles a bit on the soggier side, but they were extremely flavorful. The restaurant itself is quite spacious with plenty of seating. I was on the other side of town, so I called ahead to check availability, and they were very friendly in letting me know how many tables were open. I would revisit to try their noodle soups, especially the beef-flavored ones, since many other Thai restaurants don't feature those either

Yelp
Another restaurant I've now tried 2x that I never went to before Covid. I prefer the Pad See You (spelling always changes) over pad thai so that is what I got along with the Crab Rangoon. Also got a Thai Iced Tea I know the latter is such a Western addition to the Thai menu but I love it and they do it well. . My wait was only 10 minutes so I walked around and checked out a few other places and voila. Update been here many times since Covid and it is my local late night goto

Yelp
Nice dinner spot that opens until midnight. Fast service, food was piping hot. I arrived at 11:45pm, 15 min before they closed. I got seated right away. The place was clean and the waitress always checked to make sure the floor was not dirty and tables were cleaned. Will come back!

Yelp
Everything is definitely delicious, service is fast and friendly, ambiance has mood lighting but I can see my food which is always good for me. It's always worth my hour drive.

Yelp
Used to be my favvv Thai in the city. Still poppin and still neighborhood staple. Pad see ew: idky there were only like very few pieces of tofu. Tom kha (coconut soup): just ok! Wish it came in a hot pot.

Yelp
I should have dined and dash... food was delicious but took 1 hour for my food. I just landed from Thailand and wanted this... I damn near wasn't even hungry no more.... I couldn't dine and dash because I been going here for 30 years + smh

Yelp
Amazing food and service! My go-to Thai place. Highly recommend the panang curry and Thai iced tea!

Yelp
I was impressed with their efficiency. We sat down for 10mins, and the food was served already. This is not my first time coming to this place. The food here is pretty standard. The place is cute. People are reflected by the mirror on the wall. Both dishes were great. The ground chicken with basil was still the classic.

Yelp
Back when King of Thai used to call this space home, all of my visits seemed to come when it was either late into the night and/or when I was...somewhat less than sober. Which, not so coincidentally, is probably why I never knew I hadn't written a review for them. However, ever since King's Thai has taken over, it's pretty clear the nature of my visits have also changed, even if nearly everything else about this place is largely the same. Honestly, between how the decor and the menu look almost identical to King of Thai's, I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing that has changed is the name above the door! While this location looks all too familiar, I will say that this place is a bit nicer looking compared to the other King of Thai's that I've been to. As a whole, the decor is a bit more modern, with a lot of dark and warm tones, but it's far from the trendy vibe that Osha Thai puts out. As for the menu, it's pretty much the same as King of Thai's, but I have to admit I don't remember it looking this interesting (like I said...less than sober). From their appetizers, noodle soups and curries to their fried rice, rice plates, and stir-fried dishes, there's a good variety of both common staples, like Pad See Ew and Kao Gra-Pow, and offerings I see less often, like Guay Tiew Nuer Puir and Roasted Duck Curry. -- FRIED CHICKEN OVER FRIED RICE - Deep Fried Marinated Chicken Cutlet Over Thai Fried Rice...$17 Pretty Solid. The batter was nice and crispy and the chicken itself was fairly moist, but I wish the taste of the marinade/seasoning had been stronger. As for the rice, I liked that it wasn't overcooked, wasn't too salty, and had a nice hit of white pepper. -- GUAY TIEW NUER PUIR - Egg Noodles with Beef Stew, Spinach, and Bean Sprouts in Beef Broth...$19 I wasn't sure what to expect with this one, but it was surprisingly good! The noodles had a nice bite and I liked that the chunks of beef stew were quite tender. The broth was rich and flavorful too, though it was definitely on the fatty side. -- PAD KEE MAO with Chicken - Stir-fried Flat Rice Noodles, Fresh Chili Garlic Sauce, Minced Chicken, Long Beans, Bell Peppers, and Basil...$16 Not amazing, but it was a very comforting dish. The noodles were cooked perfectly and I really liked how well all of the flavors came together. That said, I do wish the dish had more heat to it and that it wasn't quite so oily. -- ANGEL WINGS - Deep Fried Wings Glazed with Sweet Spicy Garlic Chili and Topped with Crispy Sweet Basil...$13 Not as good as my favorite Angel Wings out there, but better than most I've had. The wings were hot and juicy and, more impressively, the batter still had a nice crunch under the glaze, which was great, but a touch too sweet. -- GREEN CURRY with Chicken - Medium Spicy Green Curry, Coconut Milk, Bell Peppers, Bamboo Shoots, Eggplant, Basil..$16 I LOVE green curry and this didn't disappoint! The curry packed a nice punch, there was a good amount of chicken, and I loved the mix of vegetables they put in. I do wish the curry had been thicker, though, as it felt very runny/thin. -- KAO GRA-PROW with Pork - Sauteed Minced Pork with Bell Peppers and Basil in Special Fresh Chili Garlic Sauce...$16 I had a major craving for this and it was so satisfying. It wasn't as spicy as I thought it'd be, but the sauce was still quite delicious and there was a fair amount of pork and basil. I just wish there were more bell peppers and a fried egg! As far as service goes, it may not be the greatest I've ever experienced, but, across all of my visits, I can't say I've run into the types of issues that other Yelpers have mentioned. Yes, there have been times where I've seen the servers hanging around the counter and chatting, but they're still attentive to when customers hail them and they usual float around to check if anything is needed. What's more, the servers have always been really nice and they even made a point of verifying my friend's identity before confirming he left his credit card behind/returning it to him when we went back to reclaim it, rather than just handing it over blindly. Between how the food has been consistently good, the lack of a wait for a table, and how they stay open until midnight (especially rare and appreciated on this side of the city), I find myself coming here more often these days than I did to their predecessors. There are definitely better places in SF for Thai food, but when factoring in convenience and proximity to me, King's Thai is definitely nice to have as a reliable go-to!

Yelp
First time at this restaurant. It's pretty good. My favorite is the duck fried rice... it's so flavorful & it's a good mix together. I think the service can be a little better. We had to ask to get a water refill... They parking is pretty hard. Overall, the food is pretty good, worth it to try.

Yelp
i'm actually shocked this place only has 3 stars. i've been coming here for 2 years now, i used to live 2 blocks down and it was my go-to for thai food. i love how late its open and the food quality is always consistent. the service is good too and they're super quick. i've been bringing friends here for years and have heard nothing but great things from them too :)
google avatar

Yelp
I really wish Yelp gave you the ability to give half stars yet again. 3 stars may seem harsh here - we had a pretty solid meal, but felt the flavors were a bit different for some of the Thai classics we love. We got the som tam (papaya salad), phat gra paow with chicken, and the gauy tiew lord. The som tam was good, although milder than we were expecting and could've used more peanuts and tomatoes to add textural contrast to the papaya. The phat gra paow with chicken was also tasty, although not as spicy or basil forward as I would expect traditionally with this dish. We probably should've gone more traditional and gotten ground pork instead of the chicken, but oh well. The gauy tiew lord was definitely loaded with seafood, but was a bit sweet which was unexpected. Fortunately, since they provide each table with traditional Thai condiments, we doused this with spicy vinegar and garlic chili paste, which mellowed out the sweetness and provided some nice acidity and spice. Gotta give credit to this place being open so late! It's great to have a late night outpost with solid food in the Richmond.

Yelp
I eat here occasionally and service is just fine. food is okay, I prefer up the road but everything was closed. Last night I came in for a cup of soup, sake, and an appetizer. It can be a bit loud, and I was tired so maybe my server didnt hear me - because when I asked for hot sauce she thought I asked for a side of rice and I had to stop her before she bolted to put in and order. I was brought a very large bowl of the coconut soup - when I thought I ordered a cup of the clear broth soup. My boyfriend and I ordered it the week before and it was the same waitress - this time I was alone. It took a long time to flag her over. I explained that wasnt the soup I wanted, but I didnt want to wait for them to remake the soup...but apparently that wasnt an option. I didn't touch the soup after my first slurp. My guess - and experience - we had better service when me and my boyfriend were together speaking Thai - but I don't feel the need to always speak Thai, or always out with my partner. I still got charged for it! When I questioned taking it off - they refused! I left the soup and they charged me 20+ dollars for something I didnt order or eat. I told my boyfriend, and as someone who's worked service industry a long time - we wont be returning.

Yelp
Seems like lots of the lower tier reviews about service, so this can vary - but I had a good experience here on a busy Friday night with their service. Nice and cozy restaurant with decent prices for Thai food. I like to rate Thai restaurants based on the level of spicy options available and how fresh the ingredients were. My friend and I ordered different soups and they all tasted like very fresh ingredients. Tom yum was not too sour or too spicy, and they had plenty of sauces available. The Tom Kha was so milky that I was able to smell it across the table. The Spicy Calamari was more sweet than spicy though

Yelp
Huge plus that this place is open late! My friends and I were looking for dinner at around 10 pm and they were still open for a few hours. We ordered the curry puff, tom-yom soup, panang curry and pad kee-mao. All the dishes were good. We were surprised at the curry puff because we haven't tried it before and it was delicious. Big portion for the Tom-yom soup. We recommend this place

Yelp
Here's a review draft for your feedback: I've been a loyal customer of King of Thai in SF, frequenting this location and the original one for years. The dishes have always felt authentic, flavorful, and consistent--something I really appreciated. However, on this visit, I was disappointed. The dishes, including the Tom Yum soup, were overly sweet, which overwhelmed the usual balance of flavors. The curry, which is usually a highlight, tasted oddly like salad dressing--bland and completely off from what I expected. Additionally, we had to seat ourselves and grab our own menus even though it wasn't busy. Place was clean and tidy. I hope this was just an off day, as I've always loved their food. I'll give them another try, but I really hope they return to the quality that made them a favorite.

Yelp
The food was good. Maybe don't have Fox News playing in the background. That's a dealbreaker for me. I'll never go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Got three things to-go: Green chicken curry: 5/5! The curry was very flavorful and the chicken was cooked just right! Pumpkin curry: 5/5! No complaints here! The spice level is relatively mild compared to what it could be. The kabocha was delicious and sweet, which paired well with the curry. Pad see ew: 3/5. I personally felt like there could have been more flavor here. But the chicken and noodles were cooked well! Chicken was juice and noodles were nice and chewy. TL;DR: Would recommend the pumpkin curry and the green curry! They're not too spicy.

Yelp
Yiiiiiiiikes, some of the reviews about bad service makes sense now, oh my goodness! I almost never give one star (you can see my history), it's usually four or five with an occasional three, but this was just ridiculously awful! The service was full of bad attitude, the lady we ordered takeout from snapped at us, threw her hands at us in a really dismissive and disrespectful manner, and walked away when I tried to talk to her and ask a question. I dine out a lot, and this was one of the rudest restaurants I've been to and really ruined it for any future visits. Which is fine, my usual haunts are Lers Ros or Saap Ver anyway; both have better Thai food and MUCH friendlier service. Frankly, the food here is nowhere good enough for the staff to be such pretentious jerks.
google avatar

Yelp
Classic flavors makes every dish feel nostalgic. So far, my favorite Thai spot. Gets busy in the evening time so you know that's a good sign.
google avatar

Robin K.

Yelp
I went to lunch here last week. The food is always good, but they've already raised their prices five dollars a plate. I'm not coming back. Tariffs haven't even gone in and they're already robbing us. $20 for a plate. Are you kidding me? I don't have to eat out you know. I can eat at home 100% so that's what I'm going to do. Trying to rip people off before even the tariffs have taken place tells me a lot about this business I'm done. This restaurant lost my business.

Yelp
Excellent service from Pui & Dao & Monica! Their crab fried rice, fish cake & Pad Woon-Sen with tofu are my family's favors!

Yelp
I visited King's Thai Cuisine on Saturday, 12/16/23, during dinner time. I tried the Angel Wings, Crab Rangoon, and the Pad See-Ew-Shrimp. All of the items were truly tasty and flavorful. The sauces offered at the table paired well with the dishes. Everything came out super fast, which was nice considering how hungry I was. The inside of the restaurant was inviting and welcoming. I loved the beautiful decorations. This restaurant is great and worth visiting. I recommend stopping by for wonderful Thai food.

Yelp
Check your receipt! Make sure you see the total amount before you sign the check. I realized I was given other people's check after my card was swiped. But fortunately I was able to get them to void the charges when I found out. But I'm still annoyed. Green papaya salad and green curry were both mediocre. Many other better Thai restaurants around.

Yelp
Please save your money and don't go here. I ordered a thai iced tea in a togo cup and the dude brought it out in a regular cup and didn't apologize. Do not get their mango sticky rice for $10. The sticky rice portion was smaller than a spoon. The atmosphere was so dark and I felt like I was in a cave. If you want good thai food go to New Thai Elephant, Nakorn, or Thai Time. Skip this place because you will be disappointed *They decided to respond. No they did not ask to remake my drink. I said it was fine because the dude was stuttering for 30 seconds. Also you can see they don't care about their business because they're saying that it's good that I have other businesses to go to instead of theirs. It's true, I would go to other businesses instead and would never recommend this place to anyone. If you're reading this please run away from this business

Yelp
Seeking a trip down memory lane, I suggested dining at the King of Thai restaurant on Clement near 8th Avenue on a late Thursday afternoon for dinner. I'd shopped at neighboring stores and noticed their prominent sign stating, "The Original". When we arrived, my friends noticed the lights were off and the door was closed. In searching Yelp, it stated that they are open but a further search on Google showed they are closed Thursdays. My friends who live in the neighborhood mentioned this location so we drove and found a space diagonally across the street. When we entered, the dining room was about half full with most diners eating at tables on both sides. We took the 1st table in the middle towards the back. Knowing that we would be eating and trying quite a bit of menu items, our party of four occupied a table for six. After studying the menu, I suggested that everyone pick something and asked the hosting couple to pick the rest since they were familiar with this restaurant. I started with the Thai iced tea (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BvGH8kxnQy-dH4NIsIx3ng&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) which was nicely flavored, not overly sweet and not overwhelmed by ice. Shortly afterwards, the parade of food started and here is what we had: Appetizers, all shared 1. Thai egg rolls (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=FzWT55mfGD5P-BO1QY5kFA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Stuffed with silver noodles, black mushrooms, carrots, and shredded cabbage, these were crispy and hot, pairing well with the sweet & sour sauce. 2. Curry puff (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=qNIVdsQYSlfvJblgUNS_bA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - These were filled with marinated potatoes, onions, and curry powder paste. A bit on the dry side. 3. Fish cakes (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2yNMQowCyUHfNp7Y-uptAw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Marinated fish cakes, long beans, and kaffir lime leaves served with a peanut cucumber salad. Good contrast of texture with the chewy fish cakes and the salad. 4. Hor-Jor (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=RfrdEVSXVSnSh9gidgJFww&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Deep fried bean curd stuffed with minced shrimp, minced pork, crab meat and diced water chestnuts served with a sweet plum sauce. Having enjoyed this at a place that I used to frequent on Sloat, around the corner from the Lucky Supermarket, I made this a must order for us. It was a first for the rest of the dining party and they all enjoyed it. Salad, shared 5. Larb salad (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=4DBElrg2qd3AR4nMozdfJw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Minced chicken (our choice), cilantro, mint leaves, red onions, green onions, and crushed roasted rice powder in a spicy lime dressing. I enjoyed this though it was on the tangy or tart side. Not sure whether it was because the salad dressing wasn't mixed enough. Mains, all shared 6. Pad Ke Mao (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=u8fmr3KA1LNrj686PgWhNA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Stir-fried flat rice noodles, fresh chili garlic sauce, minced pork (our choice), long beans, bell peppers, and basil. This was my pick and it was okay as it didn't particularly stand out. 7. Green curry with shrimp (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=uBRiv18B6-qbr86ufRiSYA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Medium spicy green curry, coconut milk, bell peppers, bamboo shoots, eggplant, and basil. The flavors were a good mix and it came with two scoops of jasmine rice. Some diners paired this with the fried rice too. 8. Crab fried rice (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=aSq_nVTo22H7j3BBnc7ctQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) - Stir-fried rice with Dungeness crab meat, egg. white onions, and green onions. Pretty standard here as the crab was noticeably there. The flavors didn't particularly stand out here and the rice is a bit on the wetter sde. My friend asked for two orders of the fried egg side (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=UzHwum4K902r1ZnyFI2arg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) which one of the hosts and I mixed with our rice. It was over easy, leaning slightly towards hard but still had enough runny egg to add richness to the fried rice and my other food. The staff was patient given that it was my first time here and my unfamiliarity with the menu. Plus, we ordered quite a bit of food for four though there were no take home boxes at the end of the meal. The food came out lightning fast, surprisingly, given the brisk amount of takeout customers that flowed in and out of the restaurant. The team of waitstaff tended to our needs promptly, removing empty plates and refilling water glasses. The prices are very wallet friendly too which is always a plus. The dining room is not very large, guessing 15-16 tables. There is a long hallway leading to the restrooms in back past the kitchen. Looking forward to dining here again.

Yelp
Been comming here since 2010. It never disappoints and always impresses new guests. I've tried to top the food, can't. This is my forever go-to. Best Thai in the city, in my opinion. Always consistent. Clean. Family run. They always remember us. Tough to beat!

Yelp
I normally stay away from Clement St. as much as I would love to dine in the area but parking is just so difficult...we lucked and found parking after 1 time around. This restaurant is not new to us but have never dined at this location. We all went for our favorites. Kao Gra-Pow Beef Beef Yellow Curry Fried Chicken Over Fried Rice As always when dining at a King's Thai, food is good, it felt so familiar.

Yelp
King Thai on Clement is a good Thai restaurant. Some nights are better than others but they almost always have "good" dishes. Tonight we decided to order soups. Fundamentally the most important component of soup is the stock. If you have a really hearty stock with fantastic flavor than your soup will most likely be fantastic. If your chicken stock is ok(not great) then you have just ok soup. Such was the case with the chicken soup. Outside there was a decent fog adding a chilly night. Inside our soup was hot but I would only say it was a 6.5 out of 10. On the other hand the satay chicken was our favorite part of the meal. In terms of the service - they do a good job being attentive. Cheers - if you go tell me what you think. Chef John

Yelp
The restaurant was pretty busy but we were able to sit down right away. The service was okay and the food was pretty good. We ordered the angel wings, pad thai, and crab fried rice. The first time I came, I remember liking the food overall more, but I did really like the flavor and crunch of the angel wings. I do like that the restaurant is on Clement so it's nice to walk around after

Yelp
The beef ball noodle soup was really tasty! A very busy restaurant on a Saturday. The egg rolls were really bland. When asked for Thai spicy, for a noodle dish, it wasn't that spicy. When we mentioned it to the server, they said to just add the chilli condiment. It was more of the dismissive manner in replying, hence the 3 stars.

Yelp
Mehhhhhh. I orders some appetizers, fried rice, and a curry for delivery. Everything was too sweet, which was unexpected and kind of off-putting. What I wanted was spiced/spicy, tangy, and savory. The pineapple fried rice didn't have a nice fried rice texture, but was more like steamed rice. And it didn't have much flavor. I found rotting herbs/lettuce in my spring rolls, so I'm giving this place a 2.

Yelp
Portion is good. I had the pineapple rice rice. 3 large shrimps, pineapple chunks and good amount of cashews. Chicken bit dried but over all I would order it again. Also had the Thai fried egg rolls. Very good too

Yelp
Pad see ew was delicious because of the wok hei (smoky) flavor. Noodles were silky and chewy. Pork and veggies were flavored well but not too salty. The portion is decently big so I was able to take half of it home for a second meal. Microwaves well for a second meal too. The curry is delicious too and comes with rice (unlike some other spots that charge extra for rice...). One of the few spots open late at night on Clement. Comfortable and casual vibe. Servers were very friendly and helpful. There was a small mix-up because they added meat to my vegetarian's friend order, but the server was super quick to fix the mistake and got a new order out.

Yelp
I've recently had dinner here twice & had the duck noodle soup (I chose the egg noodles both times). The soup is delicious & flavorful, with tender duck pieces & veggies. Perfect meal for a cold SF night! A perfect meal starter is the chicken satay, which is generously portioned & was tender & juicy & accompanied by peanut sauce. Yum! I had a Thai iced tea to wash it all down because I needed a little caffeine. Service is helpful & friendly. Parking can be a challenge as it's located on Clement St. but sometimes you can get parking if you're lucky. I do a little happy dance when I find parking on Clement St.

Yelp
Great spot with delicious food and friendly service! We also love that they're open relatively late. The tom yum is warm and flavorful, curries are also tasty, and the Thai basil chicken is always our go to. They also have a great spice rack to personalize your spice levels! Lot's of tables inside with a busy yet not too loud ambiance.

Yelp
Amazing food, absolutely delicious. the crab rangoons were so my favorite. you have to ask for sweet and sour sauce on the side. the curry was good, and paired really well with the rice. everything was nicely spiced. the restaurant was pretty popular tonight, i'm glad we stumbled in. the service was not great, we stood in the front and weren't acknowledged. overall great experience, and the holiday decorations made it very cozy. would recommend this place to someone looking for thai food.

Yelp
Today our visit was terrible. One of the waitresses had one of her bad attitude ways again,,we had coming here cuz the original king of Thai up the street had new owners. They change staffs there, and food wasn't the same tastes anymore. Then notice some staffs working at this location, so we coming here instead. But this particular waitress can't get of my mind of her rudeness, today she went overboard, our orders was throw onto the table and we ask refill on tea n water , and asked few times to both waitresses n never got refilled.. the restaurant was half full and they couldn't handle it !!! Geez sad to see !! And food portions shrunk also, not worth the service, even the food is ok to good. We decided if that woman works at day we want to eat here, we won't eat there. Or just ever come again...

Yelp
Their food is always so amazing fresh, hot and delicious. I always order the roasted duck fried rice($18) and Duck Pad Z-Ew($18 almost like chow fun). Great tasting!

Yelp
Solid place, even more so if you need something late night. They have a bright, homemade chili sauce that is outstanding! There were five of us so we ate family style and got to try 5 different dishes and all were delicious. The setting was decent, bathrooms were clean and the service was good.

Yelp
Food - horrible and use cheapest meat slices. Not yummy at all. Service was good and people were friendly.

Yelp
Overall it was a great experience! I love Thai a lot that I try every Thai restaurant I stumbled upon, this spot was a cute place. It's definitely not the best I've had, it's not terrible but was pretty decent and the price was just right for the portions. Friendly staff, would surely recommend this place.

Yelp
This isn't right.. next time before I leave your restaurant I'll make sure it was fresh.. this is almost burnt and it's like re-heated.. uhmm I know the difference fresh and re-heated because I always buy this from you guys. it was worst this time.

Yelp
I'm giving them a four stars not for their creativity or atmosphere but for opening so late! It's great to have a Thai restaurant I can walk in 9pm on a Friday and not have to be in a hurry to leave. The duck salad was the best choice. Medium was spicy so I would say mild is a safer choice but enjoyed the spices. I should get thai salads more often! Wings was flavorful and crispy but a but dry.

Yelp
Amazing flavors. Everything we had was delicious. While there's no parking (we walked from my son's home), this place is a must-try. You can tell it's a local favorite. It's loud inside as everyone enjoys themselves and enjoys the experience and setting. Service is very good. I should have taken pictures of everything (sorry) but the spring rolls and curry puffs were great. My Kao gra prow was packed with flavor. My son had the pumpkin curry (tried his and it was delicious), and my wife had the paneng curry equally delicious).

Yelp
Came for a quick lunch the other day. This is one of my go to Thai restaurants. I can always find something good to eat. The service is great and servers check in often. The restaurant has a casual feel but can definitely get crowded at times. This time I got the Mee Krob Rad Nar and the curry puffs. The curry puff was so good! I ate them very quickly and would definitely go back for more. The sauce of the Mee Krob was good but I'll stick to spicier food. I will be back since everything I've tried was great.

Yelp
Get a noodle soup. Beef or duck or pork dumpling soup. Also their garlic sauce on the table is bonkers, I bought a container for home.

Yelp
Overall their service is quick and friendly, with tasty food for a fair price & ambience. . Went with a friend for late night Thai meal, after 10 years of fond memories of Thai on Clement. There are 2 sister locations just blocks apart on this street. Ordered similar dishes without much of a second thought this time - the drunken Noodles with Tofu on the left (spicy & savory with basil & peppers | top), and Pad Z ew on the right (sweeter flavor | bottom). Still enjoyed sharing both this time, and next time will have to order a rice or curry dish to better balance things out. A solid choice for Thai in SF for friends and groups, strongly recommend!
