Kingston Jamaica Foods - Review - North Nashville - Nashville - The Infatuation

"Right across the street from Joyce’s sits an unmissable food truck emblazoned with the Jamaican flag. The menu features all the classics: oxtail, jerk chicken, steak, and salmon, with sides like cabbage, yams, mac and cheese, and several variations of rice. This stop is perfect for a casual dinner that still feels indulgent." - Bailey Freeman

Best Food Trucks in Nashville, Tennessee | Eater Nashville

"Easily identifiable by a giant green-and-yellow Jamaican flag painted on the trailer and a jerk-scented cloud from its metal smoker, this truck — usually parked at a gas station on DB Todd Jr. Boulevard in North Nashville — turns out generous portions of stewed oxtails, curry chicken, rice and peas, jerk chicken, and smoked salmon with fast service." - Kellie Walton

Came here all the way from Australia. The owner really hooked us up and gave us a taste of everything and wow was it good! Two weeks into being in America and this is the best meal so far Thank you 🙏

The food is well cooked and the portions are perfect. The man that cooks the food is a king and a real one. Me and my family enjoy all of the meats and the sides. My favorite is the Rasta Pasta and the cheese potatoes. The sauce is not for the weak so start slow or have it on the side.

The grilled steak is so bomb and so good every time. 😍😁 The sides were yummy and they are never stingy with portions but I had already started eating. 😂

A little sad couldn't try to curry goat or ox tail; but that is a fantastic reason to come back. Grabbed curry chicken, cabbage, and yams. Ended up eating just a little for lunch so I could save it and let my girlfriend try it as well. We both loved it and I will have to try to make more excuses to be in the area for lunch more often.

Google
Fast service and tasty and freshly hot Jamaican food. I already started eating it in the pic but great portions. Only tried the jerk and curry chicken. Cabbage, mix veggies, Mac and green beans are good. I'll need to come try the Oxtails.

I had been looking for authentic Jamaican food since I left South Florida 20 years ago... And I found it here! 😋😋 I LOVE everything they make and everything is absolutely DELICIOUS 😋! This is definitely my favorite place to go to get excellent food!

Yelp
Probably the best tasting jerk chicken in the city. I'm not a big fan of the sauce. It tastes like a lot of mustard is in it and I hate mustard. The chicken is so good that I don't need sauce though. The jerk shrimp is amazing also. BIG pieces of shrimp that are super delicious. All the sides I've had have been good but my favorite is the rasta pasta. I wouldn't get it toward the end of the day because the pasta tends to get too soft for my liking but I always get it if I go early in the day. It's in the parking lot of a gas station. Just park where you can and walk over!

Yelp
The best Jamaican food I've ever had, hands down. I come here every week and have tried most of the menu. Everything I've had is delicious. Prices are awesome for the amount of food you get. Chicken plates are $15 and other plates like Oxtail or Beef are $20. Plates come with 2 large sides. The service is always great. My personal favorites are the Jerk Chicken and the Jerk Beef Ribs. Oxtail is good too, I'm just not the biggest fan of fattier cuts of meat. Favorite sides are the Mac 'n cheese, cheesy potatoes, and Rasta pasta which is an alfredo type of pasta.

Yelp
After living in Nashville for years, I struggled to find good that reminded me of my homeland, Jamaica. This food truck hit it straight on the target. If you want AUTHENTIC Jamaican food that tastes amazing, this place is guaranteed to provide that, with an affordable price you get a ton of food. And yes, we eat curry goat and Mac and cheese, ask my high school friends. The picture is a ~$25 after tip. You simply cannot get better than that. Server was so nice. Can't wait to return and try more on the menu! FYI Parking is available while you wait for your food. Looking forward to hopefully see this food truck grow into its own restaurant one day.

Yelp
The rasta pasta, salmon, oxtail and cabbage are the BOMB!!! But that salmon... they're definitely trying to get a wife!!!! Tender, moist and flakey on the inside. Seasoned and blackened on the outside!!! I love love their salmon! If only the serve CoCo bread!!! This is my summertime spot. But got caught in traffic and decided to drop in! Best idea ever. Went to Hadley park and devoured it.

Yelp
Dang. Just grab some to go. It's not fancy at all. Authentic ? Oh ya !! Your in Jamaica man Jerk Chicken (AMAZING !) Oxtail (AMAZING!!!) Spicy BBQ sauce. - Dang. !! Incredible scene ? Run down gas station. So what

Yelp
Outstanding representation of the gritty, spicy Caribbean palate! As they cook the chicken in their smokers, you can watch them splash lager beer on the meat. Mac'n'cheese, cabbage, yams, rice, etc. are slightly on the sloppy side...but the flavors make up for it. Sauces are excellent with real heat, not "family-friendly heat". The trailer isn't flattering, but don't be deceived. It's good. Damn good!

Yelp
FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE Most flavorful food in Nashville and it's not even close. Not the safest area, definitely a little sketchy sometimes. They're only open Friday and Saturday and only a food truck. But worth it. And the staff is friendly. $20 for rib plate $15 for chicken plate Both are enough for at least 1.5 meals. Cabbage is amazing and Rasta pasta is amazing.

Patricia B.

Yelp
DISGUSTING! Do NOT waste your money! The food was horrible, very small portions (oxtails) and pricey on top of that! Incredibly disappointed. Would never patronize this place again.

Yelp
Somebody call 911!! Fyre burning on the food truck floor!! I think Sean Kingston write the song to describe how fire this food truck is! I drove by this food truck by accident and decided to give it a try! I'm so glad I did!! This is THE BEST Jamaican food I've ever had period!! And im a travel influencer so that tells you something. Lol. The flavor is bomb! Not to mention the portion, super generous there's no way you can finish the box all by yourself!! They have jerk chicken, curry lamb, curry chicken, all kinds of sides, I felt like I was eating in Jamaica!!! This place made my Saturday!! The owner said that they open everyday. I envision myself coming here on a regular basis! Their truck is in a parking lot of a run down sad looking gas station so no need to dress up and be fancy when you come here. Just bring cash or ca$h app and be ready for a whole Jamaican orgasm in your mouth!!

Yelp
These guys are the BEST Jamaican food in the city! real grill masters! Somebody needs to give them a brick-and-mortar restaurant. The meats are all so moist and cooked to perfection, no dry meat here!

Theboss T.

Yelp
The food is amazing I stop by Friday around 4:pm, they were out of oxtails, but I will be back. this will be my new spot whenever I am driving through Nashville.

Matt K.

Yelp
Don't let the location scare you away..... the chicken is killer. Cabbage was next level. The pasta was great too.
