"Offering something original to the Charlotte Street dining scene, this trendy restaurant takes its name from the Georgian dish khinkali. These dumplings come with a ‘handle’ at the top and fillings could include langoustines, pumpkin or beef. Accompanying the khinkali are a selection of Georgian-influenced small and large plates, from chkmeruli to pkhali. Keep the night going with a trip to Kinky, their basement bar serving a selection of creative cocktails, accompanied by a techno soundtrack and the same fabulous buzz as the restaurant." - Michelin Inspector

Kinkally - Review - Fitzrovia - London - The Infatuation

"Kinkally is a Georgian restaurant in Fitzrovia that could double as a Bond villain’s lair. It’s very cool, very dark, and very photogenic, but the dishes are hit and miss. Get the tender guinea fowl or meltingly soft baked aubergine and you can have a good time at this Charlotte Street spot, sitting next to a collection of branches which are dangling in mid-air like an art exhibit. The Georgian wines are also excellent, and after a few glasses you and a group can all but drown out the music, which is actually a soundscape featuring rainfall, the occasional haunting pipe, a rattle here, and some drum beats there. The khinkali themselves are disappointing—small, underfilled and stingy on broth—but this isn’t where you go for comforting Georgian classics. Instead, go for Instagram story content, a fun, subterranean bar, and the sort of stripy black and white dumplings that'd please Beetlejuice. photo credit: Kinkally photo credit: Sinéad Cranna photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

From the moment you walk in, the restaurant's trendy interior and beautiful decor grab your attention. I also loved that there's a separate downstairs area if you just want to come for drinks. We were seated at the counter. While I usually find counter seating fun, this time it was a bit underwhelming—there wasn't much interaction with the chefs. Still, it was cool to watch them put the finishing touches on the dishes before they were sent out. The menu is full of variety, and our server, Grace, was incredible. She did a fantastic job explaining everything and helped us choose a brilliant selection of dishes. Every plate was small but absolutely packed a punch with flavor. I've never tasted anything quite like them—each one had a unique and delicious flavor profile. Grace also helped us navigate the drinks menu, even helping us pick out the perfect wines. The cocktails looked good, but at £16+, they were a bit pricey. The entire experience was enhanced by our wonderful server, Grace. I would recommend a visit here, an introduction to modern Georgian cuisine.

We came here for my boyfriends birthday meal and it did not disappoint! We had the pleasure of sitting on the chefs counter, their attention to detail was incredible and all the food was delicious. I couldn’t even pick a favourite dish they were all that good. But the steak tartar, aubergine, cauliflower khinkali & guinea fowl were stand out dishes. We tried a bottle of Georgian wine and we enjoyed it. We really appreciated the kind gesture of complimentary dessert wine for my boyfriend’s birthday. Really talented chefs and brilliant service from Ignas! If you love trying new foods and flavours I can’t recommend Kinkally enough.

Really tasty food. If you like truffle, the steak tartare is a must. The brioche rolls and hummus were a great combo, warm, fresh bread and the hummus was fresh with a lot of flavour. The baked aubergine was great as well, super rich sauce and full of flavour. All the dumplings were delicious, but the langoustine ones were easily my favourite. I had the Penicillin mocktail, which was sweet and lemony, definitely should try this one if you don’t drink alcohol Service was great, friendly, switched on. They took the time to talk through the dishes, which makes a big difference. Kinkally nailed it on both food and vibe.

This is one of the most exciting, unique restaurant I tried in a while. The flavours combination are unique and surprising. The aubergines, the venison skewer and the langoustine dumplings were just incredible. So good. Their whisky base drink was also delicious. I would go there again. Ambience and service were respectively moody and attentive.

Gorgeous gorgeous food served beautifully! The aubergine starter was INCREDIBLE and the langoustine khinkali- devine! And don’t leave without trying the pistachio ice cream- garlic and pepper infused, it could have worked just as well as a starter. So delicious! AND if you can manage it, get Ricardo to serve you- he’s knowledgeable about the food, great with wine, and super friendly without being pushy! Really great server. Overall a great experience.

Went there for a weekday dinner. We ordered beef tartar and sweet pepper as starters, followed by lamb skewer, octopus and beef dumplings. They changed the menu from time to time, the menu we tried this time was really nice. I can give a 4-5 stars for almost every dish we ordered. My personal ranking from favorite to least liked: lamb skewer was super tender and juicy, going perfectly with the plain potato pancake at the bottom; beef tartar was well cooked and presented, different layers of flavor and texture combined quite nicely, only thing is the beef could be less salty; octopus and dumplings stayed at roughly same place; then sweet pepper. We sat at the counter next to the open kitchen, looking at the staff preparing the food also felt quite relaxing. Good service and overall quite soothing vibe.

Amazing take on the Georgian cuisine. All the dishes, we tried, were delicious and presentation was beautiful and unique. The wine cart has good selection of Georgian wine. The service was friendly. Reservations highly recommended.

I really dislike places that serve small plates as their main concept. Usually the portions are small and they are never really suitable for sharing beyond more than two people. So I was really pleased and impressed that at Kinkally, the food is not only delicious but that the sharing plate portions are of a good size. The food is “Georgian inspired”. I cannot talk about its authenticity but what stood out to me was the mix of flavours, textures and presentation. Our server was very attentive and helpfully explained items on the menu that we were unsure about. He also recommended some of the Georgian wine; I chose a glass of the “Pheasants Tears” and it was good for me; nicely dry and a good complement to any of the food. The restaurant is contemporary and stylish, feeling modern and smart. I enjoyed the overall bustling atmosphere. I left feeling full and that I’d eaten delicious food, something a little bit different to the norm. Well worth checking this place out.
