"Offering something original to the Charlotte Street dining scene, this trendy restaurant takes its name from the Georgian dish khinkali. These dumplings come with a ‘handle’ at the top and fillings could include langoustines, pumpkin or beef. Accompanying the khinkali are a selection of Georgian-influenced small and large plates, from chkmeruli to pkhali. Keep the night going with a trip to Kinky, their basement bar serving a selection of creative cocktails, accompanied by a techno soundtrack and the same fabulous buzz as the restaurant." - Michelin Inspector

Kinkally - Review - Fitzrovia - London - The Infatuation

"Kinkally is a Georgian restaurant in Fitzrovia that could double as a Bond villain’s lair. It’s very cool, very dark, and very photogenic, but the dishes are hit and miss. Get the tender guinea fowl or meltingly soft baked aubergine and you can have a good time at this Charlotte Street spot, sitting next to a collection of branches which are dangling in mid-air like an art exhibit. The Georgian wines are also excellent, and after a few glasses you and a group can all but drown out the music, which is actually a soundscape featuring rainfall, the occasional haunting pipe, a rattle here, and some drum beats there. The khinkali themselves are disappointing—small, underfilled and stingy on broth—but this isn’t where you go for comforting Georgian classics. Instead, go for Instagram story content, a fun, subterranean bar, and the sort of stripy black and white dumplings that'd please Beetlejuice. photo credit: Kinkally photo credit: Sinéad Cranna photo credit: Sinéad Cranna Pause Unmute" - Sinéad Cranna

From the moment you walk in, the restaurant's trendy interior and beautiful decor grab your attention. I also loved that there's a separate downstairs area if you just want to come for drinks. We were seated at the counter. While I usually find counter seating fun, this time it was a bit underwhelming—there wasn't much interaction with the chefs. Still, it was cool to watch them put the finishing touches on the dishes before they were sent out. The menu is full of variety, and our server, Grace, was incredible. She did a fantastic job explaining everything and helped us choose a brilliant selection of dishes. Every plate was small but absolutely packed a punch with flavor. I've never tasted anything quite like them—each one had a unique and delicious flavor profile. Grace also helped us navigate the drinks menu, even helping us pick out the perfect wines. The cocktails looked good, but at £16+, they were a bit pricey. The entire experience was enhanced by our wonderful server, Grace. I would recommend a visit here, an introduction to modern Georgian cuisine.

Everything was well done here! I enjoyed the small plates . Bread and dips and truffle tartare both were stunning. Our octopus was good too not chewey and pairs well w the sauce. Dumplings I found the langoustine and wagyu one very nice but the wasabi was a bit overpowering. Service was good but a bit slow despite the resto not being full on Tues night . Atmosphere can be better w better seatings . We shared the ice cream was just okay, I wished they have more expanded dessert menu

The ambience is delightful. Not stuffy, very relaxed but classy. The staff are really helpful and know their stuff. The food is beautiful, very different to anything you may have had around the area, a perfect opportunity to open your mind and palette. The venison and beef tartare are standout, but everything is delicious. Definitely visit if you’re looking for a nice meal, and especially if you’re after something different from the norm.

This was an amazingly positive and surprising experience! My Georgian friend and I were not sure what to expect, and every dish we picked was interesting and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the dumplings, which the restaurant is named after and the aubergines. The price was also reasonable given we were fairly full at the end and it was all good quality. We did not order any alcohol, as we'd already had a drink before. My only reservation is that we had not reserved and therefore were sitting by the area where staff was placing dirty dishes, and there were a few disruptive incidents with glasses smashed, etc. So I suggest a reservation to have the perfect night!

This restaurant is amazing! The food is delicious and unique. There is a great atmosphere and great vibes. The service is amazing— Grace was so lovely, friendly and guided us throughout to make our experience even better (btw all her recommendations were 10/10). I believe this was the best service I’ve seen in London. Great music and concept! We are definitely coming back very soon!

Got the set menu and it was a ton of food and we got free wine too which we couldn’t finish cuz we had the yummy cocktails instead. Dumplings had soup in them which was cool like Chinese dumplings. All the small plates had nice flavours and good quality ingredients. The octopus was super soft and not fishy. All was Very saucy which I love too.

Had no reservations but was just me so lucked out and got a table. Food was amazing. Aubergine was spot on. Beef skewer was flavourful and tender. Salad on the side really contrasted well to counter the fattiness. Khinkali was great too. Thanks to Ignas and I didnt get the other servers name but both were super attentive and cool to chat to. Popped downstairs to the bar and that was also perfect to wrap up a chill night. Very fun choices for drinks and bartenders were super attentive and sweet. Thank you!

Excellent restaurant that I would say borders on fine dining. Some interesting and delightful flavours in many of the dishes. It's not cheap, but I'd definitely say it's worth it. I would recommend the pate (stunningly good) and beef tartare as small plates. The oxtail khachapuri is a good one to fill you up a bit, it's certainly tasty and though it doesn't have the delicate touch of the small plates, it's a good value for money option. The mussel and langoustine kinkalis just edged out the wagyu one for me. Of the two desserts, I'd say the blueberry and marscapone one was better. The pistachio and black pepper flavours came through in the ice cream nicely but it was a little too salty and not sweet enough for me. The service was excellent from start to finish: friendly, proactive and professional. The restaurant is nicely decorated in a modern style and is very well upkept.
