D.C.’s Michelin-Starred Restaurants, Mapped | Eater DC

"Restaurateur Eric Ziebold’s elegant approach to choose-your-own-adventure dining maintains one star. Known for its roast chicken and lobster French toast, the restaurant offers reservations through Tock across its 59-seat dining room outfitted with a fireplace. The a la carte menu includes sections like Craft, History, Ingredients, Indulgence, and For the Table (that last section includes a side of the chef’s renowned Parker House rolls)." - Emily Venezky

Kinship

"Kinship is a prominent fixture thanks to Chef Eric Ziebold and wife/partner Célia Laurent’s inspired cuisine. They have earned a devoted following who gladly dress to dine here. In addition to Métier downstairs, the space comprises a fireplace-warmed lounge, lively bar and minimalist-chic dining room. The à la carte isn't just a litany of offerings; it's a peek inside Chef Ziebold's heart and mind. Pick and choose from the different categories to create a bespoke tasting menu that could include a thrilling tempura-fried soft-shell crab in a spiced tomato broth, or a roast chicken worth every moment of its 75-minute preparation. Don't miss dessert, like the passion fruit tart with ginger-lime sorbet or chocolate ganache tart with Madras curry ice cream." - Michelin Inspector

Kinship’s Owner Eric Ziebold Responds to Racist Allegations From a Former Employee - Eater DC

"Kinship, a French-American restaurant in Shaw, was opened in 2016 by chef/owner Eric Ziebold along with Célia Laurent. It earned a Michelin star the same year. Recently, the restaurant has been the subject of controversy after former server Klyn Jones accused Ziebold of making racist remarks. The restaurant, which is normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, chose not to open on a Sunday following the viral spread of Jones's protest video. The incident has led to Yelp restricting new comments on its page and the temporary deactivation of its Instagram account." - Tierney Plumb

The Best French Restaurants in Washington, D.C. MICHELIN Guide

"While selections from the 'Ingredients' and 'Indulgence' categories on this menu need no explanation, 'Craft' items honor tradition and 'History' selections pay tribute to sentimental favorites. Pick and choose from the different themes for a bespoke tasting menu that could include a thrilling tempura-fried soft-shell crab set in a spiced tomato broth, or a roast chicken that is worth every moment of its 75-minute preparation. Don't forget dessert, like the passion fruit tart paired with ginger-lime sorbet or the chocolate ganache tart served with Madras curry-ice cream." - The MICHELIN Guide
