Best Bagels in Philadelphia | Eater Philly

"Husband-and-wife duo Jacob and Alexandra Cohen started baking bagels during the pandemic as a pop-up, and their bagels quickly skyrocketed to the top of everyone’s list. Now, you can find Kismet’s bagels and unique schmears at physical shops in Fishtown, Rittenhouse, and Lower Merion, while a satellite location in Reading Terminal Market focuses on bialys." - Ernest Owens

The 12 Best Bagels In Philly

"You probably heard of Kismet Bagels long before they opened their spot on Girard (thanks to their pop-up days)—and their reputation lives up to the hype. They serve soft bagels with a satisfying crackle from Wednesday – Sunday, starting at 7am. It’s the bagel sandwiches, though, like The Spicy (with bacon, egg, cheese, pickled jalapeños, and peppery everything schmear) that makes this more than just your neighborhood bagel shop. After we tried the silky spread on the sandwich, we literally turned our car around to buy a half-pint just so we could spread it on the dozen we bought to go." - candis mclean, alison kessler

Google
Great bagels, nice people, tasty vegan everything bagel, vegan egg & cheese and zhug. Lots of there own brand items for sale cream cheese spreads, drinks. seasonings, and the Dr. Brown’s soda, which is not easy to find I have bought their bagels. It packs of four before the everything bagel is my favorite and is exceptional tasting. One reason is the fermentation process they use gives a really satisfying taste, especially when toasted. And all of the bagels toppings are always consistent. The everything bagel has a really nice mix of sesame seeds poppy seeds, onion, garlic, kosher salt, so you get a little bit of everything in every bite when you toast their bagels and put a little bit of butter it’s like food heaven they also have merchandise such as T-shirts, hats etc.

Google
The Egg is one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. Do not miss out on the zhug. Hands down amazing bagels and super kind staff.

Google
Today was my first time trying Krismet bagels and I have to say I’m glad I did! Not only was the staff super nice and patient but the food is great too! I definitely recommend you try The Alex. It’s delicious!

Google
Food was amazing - exactly what my hangover needed. I had an egg and cheese on an everything and their house green sauce is so good, idk what it is but I like it! Staff was super friendly and food came out quick. Next time I’m in Fishtown this will be my go to spot! P.s. I definitely was not supposed to be at that red table so don’t do what I did 😆 the folks at JB were very nice about it haha

Google
All I have to say is, as a true poppy head, there are days where I say “I should have gone to Kismet”. Never days where I go to Kismet and say “I shoulda gone to ____”. I don’t wanna SEE the bagel that’s how many poppy seeds should be on it. One time someone told me poppyseed bagels were wack so I got a tattoo of one the next day just to pledge my allegiance harder. Real bagel enjoyers please stand up

Google
Bagels done right! The sammies I have tried here are simple and hit every flavor note. We love going here for weekend breakfast or to grab a quick bite. The place is tiny so get ready to be squished while waiting to order—it is worth it though.

Google
Might be the best everything bagel I’ve ever had!! Perfectly seasoned and the cream cheese was French kiss. The staff were so nice and the shop had such a nice vibe. If I lived in Philly I would be going here and spending all my money!

Google
This place is absolutely phenomenal & I cannot believe I’ve not heard of them until today…my new favorite breakfast spot in Philadelphia!!! 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Yelp
Kismet bagels is everything you want in a bagel: inexpensive, crispy outside, soft inside. Service was great and everyone inside was so kind. The bagels were to die for; sea salt & rosemary with garlic and herb cream cheese and egg bagel with veggie cream cheese. Everything was delicious and we will be back many more times!

Yelp
I can't wait to come back here for breakfast. The bagels are incredible -- well seasoned (pretty dense layer of everything seasoning), crunchy exterior, soft interior. These bagels are a little smaller than your average, so I was left wanting a few more bites by the end, but they do make up for it on the height; there's a pretty good amount of egg and bacon in there. The cheese is perfectly melded with the cheese almost like a sauce. The staff is also super friendly -- goes a long way! Highly recommend making a trip here. Value: 4/5 Quality: 5/5 Quantity: 3/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

Yelp
After reading the raving reviews, we ordered bagels for breakfast. It is not worth the hype. We got one plain bagel with Spicy everything cream cheese, and one Sea Salt Rosemary with Garlic and Herb. I really liked the garlic and herb cream cheese. I assumed sea salt bagel would be a little salty, but it was REALLY salty. Wasn't a fan of it. The spicy everything cream cheese kind of tasted weird. They didn't have a jalapeño cream cheese so I decided to get this instead, but it was also very salty, not spicy, and kind of had a sea weed after taste? The bagels themselves were average in terms of texture. A little too dense for my liking, and even though they were toasted, they were pretty hard to eat. I wouldn't go back here. Still on the hunt for my favorite neighborhood bagel shop.

Yelp
In sum, poor service, not great quality bagels, long wait times, and poor seating. Waited 25 minutes for 3 bagels. After the long wait outside where there was dog poop right outside the business door, our order came out wrong. None of the bagels were toasted as ordered, and one of the bagels was wrong (plain instead of everything). And frankly they just weren't that high quality- I eat a lot of bagels. It was busy, I get it, but get the orders right. The owners also need to take better care of the area outside since that's the only place they offer seating. There was dog poop right outside, and it permeated the air everywhere where customers were seated. Do better, Kismet.

Yelp
It's hard for me to walk by a place that has a line out the door, which is music to the business' ears I'm sure! I wanted my standard poppyseed bagel with cream cheese. The bagel was way more dense than I expected, and different than the airy ones I tend to lean towards. However, in its own way it's really good. It left a bit of a rock in my gut but, hey, I skipped lunch. ;)

Yelp
The Fish on Everything Bagel, Rosemary Sea Salt Bagel with Cream Cheese Iwas told the northeast does bagels and pastries best, but holy crap this is so mindblowing I'm obsessed. The salmon on everything bagel was delicious, I don't understand how they make bagels this good. The pickle and tomato in this were perfect. The rosemary sea salt Bagel was lifechanging too I just want to eat again this so bad right now

Yelp
I recently visited Kismet Bagels for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed my BEC on a rosemary sea salt bagel. I would say getting the rosemary sea salt bagel took the sandwich to the next level so I definitely recommend that pairing! The eggs tasted fresh and fluffy, the bacon was crispy (my fave kind of bacon) and the sandwich came with cooper sharp cheese which adds the perfect Philly touch. I actually got a chocolate chip cookie that was so so good!! The best surprise from a bagel shop. I'm only giving a 4 b/c my sister got her BEC on a plain bagel and she said she didn't enjoy the plain bagel, and I trust her judgment when it comes to bagels! (We're originally Jersey girls). Other than that, was a good experience at Kismet! It's a cute little shop but there isn't really anywhere to eat so this is more of a to go spot!

Yelp
Yay real bagels!! Walked over to Fishtown to try this place out. Very small inside with no seating. Great for a quick takeout. The service is very fast, and everyone is friendly. A TON of vegan options! Tried this paprika chili vegan cream cheese on my breakfast bagel, and it ruled. I will probably be back later today to pick up a tub of it. My husband got the fish sandwich with the pastrami lox, he loved it. The toppings on the bagels are top and bottom - they're coated. Nice texture and chew to them. 10/10.

Yelp
The sun hadn't quite crept over the apex of Girard Avenue as a father of two pushed a stroller with his sleepy eyed passengers across the street. "Four minutes" he told his daughter, eager for a bagel to start her day. "Everything," was her breakfast of choice. I smiled at them and remarked what a bold choice it was. The proud father beamed and added "with cream cheese." The bagels at Kismet are a world away from the frozen onion Lender's Bagels I'd have on a sunny Summer morning with my dad. My tastes were a little different as a kid, slathering them with peanut butter and jelly. But they offer that here, along with a chocolate milk, as a kids meal. I opted instead for The Egg sandwich - with a chocolate milk. My choice was a strong one. (Don't skip the Zhug Sauce with its subtly spicy turmeric, cumin and red pepper playing off fresh garlic and parsley.) The pillowy everything bagel holding a fluffy egg, smoky bacon and a delightfully excessive amount of Cooper Sharp was everything I needed after 12 hours of babysitting adults on ain't overnight shift. I let the family order before me as my day was ending and theirs was just beginning. The folks behind the counter couldn't have been nicer. It was great to see people excited about what they're doing. From my order to a bag of goodness in my hand was just four minutes. It took slightly longer for me to polish my sandwich off. As I type this, I'm still cleaning the Cooper Sharp from my stache. It's the same one my father had that I swore I'd never grow. I hope the kids enjoyed their bagels as much as I did. It's not a Lenders with my dad, but I'll take it gladly knowing they got to share Kismet with theirs.

Yelp
People were nice even though they got my order wrong. Lox bagel passed the crunch test & it had potential but the salt levels were waYYYY too much. Tasted like they poured heaps of salt on there, besides that it was good but that reallyyy killed it.

Yelp
When I first tried this place I was amazed. Then I started following their IG and watching them expand their stores and menu options, I can't not give them 5 stars. They once posted about what other menu items we want to see and I voted for turkey bacon and pork roll and BAM ITS ADDED TO THE MENU. Everything is made fresh daily and their zhug sauce is unreal. It's similar to a chimmichurri sauce so if you like that you'll love this. I even bought a jar to use on other food I eat. Best decision I ever made. I had bought a dozen bagels once to freeze for future meals but unfortunately they don't hold up as well once they are defrosted to eat again. Not their fault just good to note for future. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always consistent. Get there fast before they sell out!!

Yelp
Good bagels are hard to come by. Kismet didn't disappoint. I enjoyed one of the most everything-y of everything bagels that I've ever laid eyes on. I ordered my food for pickup on DoorDash, it was ready on time, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely return to try more things!

Yelp
This was delicious! I did the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a rosemary salt bagel and of my goodness was it delicious. It was fresh, hot, and had great flavor. The bagel was delicious. Others in the group got The Egg and The Fish--great reports on both. The space is tiny but there are a few tables outside. Probably not a spot to sit and enjoy unless it's nice outside. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I am so glad we stopped here on our way to visit Four Seasons Total Landscaping!

Yelp
Being the bagel enthusiast that I am, I had to give this place a try. I had heard about it several times and also seen it listed as one of Philly's many new businesses. The hours are pretty specific; they're open and accept Nobel orders Wednesday-Friday, and are first come, first serve on weekends. Another main draw I had to this place was the somewhat unique flavor options they offer compared to other bagel places. I stopped here on a Thursday morning spontaneously, so I hadn't ordered ahead. The storefront in Fishtown is pretty small, accommodation only a few customers at once. Thankfully, there was only one other person besides myself when I stopped in. They didn't have a very large variety of bagels, but they offered some neat options like Sea Salt Rosemary and Jalapeño Cheese along with more standard options. They also offer a variety of breakfast sandwiches and cream cheese flavors. The employees were very friendly in offering help and answering questions. Unfortunately, their famous bialys were not available, as they are opening a specific bialy store in Reading Terminal. As per my bagel enthusiast routine, I purchased two single, unsliced bagels to try at home. While this doesn't vouch for cream cheese flavor and quality, it allows me to evaluate the true flavor and texture of a bagel. The flavor, texture, and salt content are what make a true Northeast bagel. The two bagels came out to a little under 4 dollars, which is pretty standard nowadays. When I later tried the bagels at home, the first thing that struck me was the size being smaller than average. I always look for the perfect size in a bagel; it's a balance between not being the size of my face but still being big enough to hold a nice sandwich. In terms of flavor, the salt content and infused flavors were perfect. However, the texture didn't do it for me, as they had much more of a bread than bagel texture. To me, there wasn't enough contrast between having a crunchy outside, and soft inside. Overall, I like but don't love this place. I like their offerings: simple but still unique. Their service is spot on, and I still would love to see what their specialty bialys are all about. They also now offer a variety of flavored sourdough loaves for pre-order, which I also look forward to trying soon.

Di S.

Yelp
Strawberry cream cheese was decent but I probably wouldn't go back for it unless I was in the area for something else.

Cathy D.

Yelp
Not great, inconsistent orders. The bagels seem to be shrinking and the cream cheese is hardly on the bagel. Sometimes you get a good amount depending who makes the bagel. No fun paying over $5.00 for a tiny bagel with barely any cream cheese on the bagel. Why bother!! however, Philly Style bagels taste better, they are bigger, the raisins are huge, the seeds stay on the bagel, and they are always consistent. not to mention the fresh blueberries are the best.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with "The Fish". My eyes were opened to the wonder of a Cream Cheese bagel with Lox not too long ago and that's pretty much all I get at bagel places now. This place hits the spot and it's in an almost walkable distance from me (which is dangerous!) The workers are very friendly there as well so much so that it stands out in my memory.
google avatar

Sharika M.

Yelp
Kismet Bagels is a must for breakfast! The year round salt rosemary bagel is such a unique and incredible flavor. We had the "The Egg" on a salt rosemary bagel with scrambled eggs, cooper sharp cheese and zhug spread. Zhug is made from garlic, cilantro and chili pepper. We also tried a poppyseed bagel with dill pickle cream cheese spread which was tangy! Loved it! Their latkes are pretty spot on, not too oily and not overly crisp. It came with sour cream dip and apple sauce dip. Would definitely recommend the sour cream dip!
google avatar

Ellen B.

Yelp
The sea salt rosemary bagels are perfect. Everyone that comes to visit me gets introduced to this bagel. They also get introduced to their scallion schmear. I grab a mix of bagels and a couple schmears and I don't have to wonder if breakfast will be good, because I know it is. It's our family go-to bagel spot.
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
Kismet bagels is a gem! It's a great little grab and go spot right on Girard Ave. The bagels are fresh and delicious! I love the menu options - all the bagel options are flavorful and satisfying. My boyfriend and I got The Spicy and The Bird. The Spicy did not disappoint! It came with scrambled egg, bacon, jalapeño and spicy everything schmear. The spice factor was 100% there! The Bird was decent. It's a typical turkey sandwich fix with tomato, arugula and garlic n' herb schmear. It was flavorful but I prefer The Spicy! Service was fast and friendly. Since it's a small spot, they take your mobile number and send you a text when it's ready so you can wait outside. Wish they had space for seating, but overall this is a great bagel spot!

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED my bagel at Kismet! Came here on a Saturday morning and I ordered The Fish- an everything bagel with pastrami lox, cream cheese, dill, pickles, tomatoes, onion, etc it was soooo good. The lox alone were incredible but with the pickles and dill?! Chefs kiss! The bagel itself was also great- I can't recommend this place enough. Absolutely fire bagel.
google avatar

Yelp
Three words...MMM, MMM, MMM. They know what they are doing here! Bagels are delicious. The dough recipe itself is spot on - perfect balance of soft & chewy. If you are just a bagel & cream cheese type of person, they've got a fridge stocked with all homemade smears! More into sandwiches? No shortage here either. I personally got their spicy egg sandwich. It packed a little punch in heat, but I was able to handle it! Sandwich is stacked! We also had the veggie sandwich, and it was so refreshing! Prepare to wait in line, but I promise - it is worth it. They also have dope merch!!
google avatar

Anandita S.

Yelp
We went for our breakfast. The bagels are fresh, not too doughy. The pickle cream cheese was the best. If I could take it with me to California, I would totally take it. I took one star away for not having a place to sit. Ps. We forgot our mask, the lady was super nice about it and handed us the mask.
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
Love love love this place, I'm always looking forward to coming back again. Fresh and satisfying bagels, they never fail. But my favorite is the Egg sandwich (add bacon! It's perfection), it's my favorite breakfast sandwich in town. Also don't sleep on the latkes, they are crisp and delicious (and not soggy with oil as it's often the case in other places) Staff was always friendly even when the line is long, and I really love the system that texts you when the order is ready. That way we can go outside and pet the dogs that walk by while we wait for our order.
google avatar

JJ E.

Yelp
Five months after the owner cried about my initial review the issue with online ordering has been fixed. Bagels are nice, some of the better everything seasoning I've had. Veggie cream cheese is very good as well, but sometimes they sell containers that are 2-3 days from expiry. Bottled drinks are overpriced.
google avatar

Ashley Y.

Yelp
Wow! For the price and bagels - it's sooo worth! The everything bagel is seriously covered with everything! You can't even tell which is the top or bottom. We got half a dozen to go and shared one in the car. Will def come back and it's worth the travel.

Yelp
In NoCal, I saw them advertised on Doordash as a special package delivery. Let it be known, I "love love love" bagels. I was reading thru the menu, and saw that they are based in Philly and I was going on a business trip to Philly so I was like, I'm going to Kismet! Boo-yah! Well, I ended up Doordash'ing some for at my hotel, some to take home and one to eat that morning (with cream cheese). Incidentally, they only accept online orders Wed-Fri. Well, after chomping the 1/2 dozen over a weeks time, I conclude that I like, but not love. There small, very dense, and have a wheat taste to the bagel. They remind me of a Montreal bagel, but not quite as good. So, that's it then. They have some unique bagel flavors (ie. rosemary sea salt), as well as unique schmears (ie. pickle, spicy everything), and only feature about 6 bagels per day. Good, but not great.
google avatar

June D.

Yelp
I bought two bagels (Everything and Rosemary Poppyseed) from Kismet at the Rittenhouse Farmers Market and took them home. Without going into every detail, I found that Kismet bagels are not for me. The salt content in these bagels is over the top and was painfully evident in each bite. I first thought it was the toppings, but no it is the bagel itself. This was my first and last purchase of Kismet Bagels.
google avatar

Kelly D.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Good bagel and cream cheese - coffee was definitely old and luke warm.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
I am originally from New York- The often debated but true home of some of the worlds best bagels. I grew up eating bagels that have become highly acclaimed and awarded- rightfully so. But now enter Kismet. Kismet bagels are unique because they aren't a New York bagel. And they aren't a Montreal bagel. They're just delicious- and make you feel good. You can tell there is care and pride in each bagel. And oh my stars- have you had a bialy? A bialy from some of the best shops have traditionally been sort of lackluster. Not sexy... A kismet bialy? TRANSCENDENT. The bialy itself is flavorful but whether it's a classic onion (caramelized to the high heavens mind you...) and poppy- or a unique and innovative combo of cheese steak and longhots or some other dank offering they create...you will leave your body and come back a better person. We didn't even get to the schmear and sandwich options. Each sandwich is a delight and their teams work so hard to bring it together. Such a lovely place and such lovely people. If you love bagels, and you want a special experience that will elevate your brunch or your home made pizza bagels- Kismet is the spot. They make everything in house, to spec. It's not just a corner bagel shop. There is so much attention paid to details. Oh. One more thing. They have latkes. All the time. The line is to be expected if you go during big bagel hours and days- but any wait is well worth it. : the amazing local and high quality flour used = little grain specks in the dough AND I AM HERE FOR IT. It means you're getting nutrition. Bagels using generic highly bleached and processed flour means you're not. This is the bagel spot in Philly. Anything else is...just not a Kismet.

Yelp
I was craving a veggie bagel sammie last week and came across Kismet Bagels. They open early enough that I can stop in on my way to work. They do have online ordering starting at 7am but I showed up right when they opened and I was 2nd in line. I got a bacon and egg on a sesame bagel. I didn't LOVE this only because I didn't get cheese, butter, or their zhug sauce (pregnancy problems). However, I got the veg on a plain bagel and omg... 10/10 the best veggie sammie ever. There isn't really any decent bagel shops in the local south Jersey area so you definitely need to travel for good bagels and this trip was well worth it. The staff was friendly and I'm excited to see they're opening a new location! I'm still dreaming about this sammie a week later. Keep up the incredible work and quality!!!

Maeve F.

Yelp
Super friendly and great service! They have been working really hard to address initial growing problems (one register, long wait times) and it shows! Havent had to wait at all anymore. Delicious bagels and the ZHUG *chef's kiss* - LOVE! Plus the house made chai is amazing!! Fave new local spot

Yelp
First time visiting Kismet after seeing them every week in the farmers market. As a bagel town, Philly had many options. I would saw the bagels here were decent, but I'm not sure I'd drive all the way to Fishtown to try them again. I tried an everything bagel and it was really salty. The bagel is chewy and heartier than most bagels. Service was efficient. It's a takeout counter with a few tables and chairs outside.
google avatar

Yelp
Great way to start off a late weekend brekkie! We drove over to this side of town to check out this new bagel shop. It's near a lot of the other hustle and bustle of Fishtown. We ended up parking up the road and took the walk over. Inside it's a small operation, but packs a punch. Lots of different bagel and spread options along with sandwiches and dessert! They also have some drinks and cold brew coffee in cans (from the local vendors) available for purchase. I grabbed an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and my wife ordered their veggie sandwich. They prepare everything for you, and they have some seating right out side to enjoy. We really liked the flavors of the spreads and the portions were great! We ate most of our meal in their outdoor space and then took the rest to go to enjoy on our walk around the rest of the area. Excited that this place exists, and though it's a bit out of our way for a regular stop, we likely will make an excuse to return! They're also figuring out ways to have their products available in local supermarkets - happy that this operation is growing and will be more accessible in the future!

Yelp
This was the perfect hangover, post workout breakfast bagel! I got The Egg on an everything bagel, and it was a solid choice. The bagel itself was truly an everything bagel! I feel like some places really skimp on the seasonings and seeds on their bagels, but this place definitely does not. It is loaded with all the everything goodness! The egg and cheese are plentiful, and I love the zhug they put on it! That's what truly makes it such a unique breakfast sandwich. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Yelp
I know I say this a lot, but *this* was the best bagel of my life. Za'atar bagel + whitefish salad + fresh, juicy red tomatoes + crisp scallions + quality EVOO + sumac Oh, and don't even get me STARTED on the baily. Pillowy soft dough + whipped feta & schmear + roasted tomatoes + oregano sesame blend... HOLE-Y MOLY These bagels are my kinda bagels--Kismet, just take my money. And they carry their own cold brew (to which you can add oat milk--a must for me) I read up on them, and Alexandra & Jake started making bagels when the pandemic started in 2020. They have the most adorable love story (seriously almost cried watching some of their videos). And they just welcomed a baby boy The ladies I talked to at the Fishtown shop were a joy. I just can't emphasize how much you need to try this place. So HOLESOME

Yelp
The best bagel spot in Philadelphia!! We biked over to Fishtown on a warm summer day, stopping at Persimmon Coffee for a brew and hitting Kismet for solids. First off, it's perfectly located on Girard Ave, so easily accessible by bike, car, or foot. The shop's exterior is adorable - I loved the retro vibe, can't-miss-it bright colors, and of course, the "mascot" bagel. There was a bit of a line when we arrived, but it went by pretty quickly. As soon as I entered the shop to place my order, I was overwhelmed by the smell of the freshly baked bagels, and it was enough to make by stomach grumble. It was later in the morning, but they still had a number of options available. I opted for the veg sandwich on a rosemary and sea salt bagel. The bagel was by far one of the best bagels I have had - it was incredibly fresh, light, and chewy, and the sea salt and rosemary on top brought it all together. The pairing of fresh veggies and their veggie smear rounded out the experience. My husband went for the egg on an everything bagel, which he similarly loved - the zhug sauce was a welcome addition to the egg and cheese, and the everything toppings were chockfull. This was the perfect breakfast and was well worth the trip to Fishtown! I'm now learning that there is a location in Rittenhouse....so I know where our next bagel fix will be, and I know where to snag one of the adorable tees featuring the mascot :) Thanks for joining the Philly bagel scene, Kismet - we will 100% be back!

Yelp
the dense aspect of the bagel is the only complaint. i know it's the style they do but i prefer fluffy. the flavors on the everything seasoning were perfect and the pickle creamcheese was 10/10!

Yelp
Kismet makes my favorite bagels in Philly, they're soft and have tons of seasoning which I love. If I go into the shops, I usually get "the fish" which is so good. The people working there are so nice and they do a great job even when super busy.

Yelp
3.5 Was really excited to give this place a try after all the hype and buzz, but was left a bit disappointed. Gave this place two tries. First time got the lox sandwich and the blueberry jam with plain cream cheese. Off the bat, the bagels are smaller than a classic ny/nj bagel. This made it difficult to eat the sammies since after a bite, most of the insides plopped out. The second time, got a jalapeno cheddar bagel with veggie cream cheese and I asked for it toasted but was denied because "the cheddar would melt and mess up the toaster." I found this a bit absurd. Why offer a bagel that you can't toast? The latkas were the best thing I tried from here.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place so bad. Ive heard great things and even gave it 2 tries. Each time it felt the bagels were not fresh and had some sort of chew that made it feel like they were giving us old bagels. (It might be the recipe they use, Im not sure?). I got their everything bagel with their veggie cream cheese. Cream cheese is pretty good. I also got their veggie bagel sandwich and it is HUGE. Definitely filled me up for breakfast and lunch. Overall, just with their bagels tasted fresher.

Yelp
They make a pretty good bagel. Yup! That's essentially my review. I wish I lived a little closer to their actual store so it would be easier to stop in but it seems like a lot of the coffee shops and businesses that sell bagels in the area actually sell Kismet bagels so you don't really need to live super close. They also don't seem to be much, if any cheaper, at their actual store either.

Yelp
These bagel sandwiches are amazing. Down to the spices they are so good. Service is fast and you can even order online.

Yelp
I've gotten the spicy sandwich a number of times, really good flavor combo but I'm probably in the minority in that I wish it had a little bit less schmear on it. It's always a pretty messy lunch. Fun merch too.

Yelp
Calling these "bagels" is a stretch. Insanely dense, no chew, mediocre crust, and they've totally overdone the toppings. By any objective metric of a decent bagel, these fail pretty badly. If we're comparing to Montreal or NY/Northern NJ, these are just not good. The prices are insane considering the quality. Go to Bart's, Korshak, etc. if you want a great bagel. Buy a 6 pack at Trader Joes if you want something cheaper--the quality isn't different.

Yelp
The bagels cannot be beat! I had the jalapeño turkey bagel. My wife had the "spicy". It was amazing! So good! So many different selections of bagels. We tried to order the lox; to accompany the bagels, but they were out of lox, (but it was Sunday afternoon to be fair, probably eagles crowd). But the bagels sandwiches themselves more than made up for it. We'll try to catch them,(lox) next time. Gonna put this place in our cravings Rolodex.

Yelp
These are the best bagels in Philadelphia. Compared to Kismet, all other everything bagels are just a "some things" bagel. These are covered with seasoning that doesn't fall off everywhere. Rosemary Salt bagel is a perfect rip and dip snack and the Jalapeño Cheddar bagel has the right amount of cheese and jalapeño... which is a lot. Every employee is a delight to deal with. Overall vibe of the space is perfect. Would give a 6th star if it were possible.

Yelp
New local biz Came out for the grand opening. Line moved pretty quickly. The staff/owners are super friendly. Bagels are very good! It is definitely not easy finding a great bagel but kismet knows what theyre doing. I had the everything bagel, it was covered on both sides which was nice and crispy on the outside. I had to try the spicy everything schmear which i loved. It seems a little pricey, but i will be back! Latkes were sold out so i need to come back for those too!

Yelp
Ok I have to say this small biz is one of my favorites out there. First, they are hustling- to make great products and interesting options for their customers, and second, they are just kind people. Once when in here I inquired about a bialy and the owner just handed me one to try for free. The folks working there were helpful and kind. Both times I visited so far, I really enjoyed my bagel! They have a variety of options, including a pickle cream cheese which was super unique. I love supporting small businesses who walk the walk. These guys are paying their employees fairly and using quality ingredients, so yes the bagels aren't dirt cheap. And yes, they're better than frozen ones :) Love this spot and I will be back!!
