Commune Kitchen to Close in Arlington; Breadboard Bakery to Replace It | Eater Boston

"Operating in East Arlington since 2016, this restaurant will close following service on June 28, passing the torch to Breadboard Bakery. It has made a name for itself with stellar pizza and also serves tartines, poutine, bread, cafe beverages, beer and wine. In an August 2016 review for The Improper Bostonian, MC Slim JB highlighted the pizzas’ long-fermented dough, which produced “a fantastically bubbly, lightly charred crust,” called the vegetarian pie “surprisingly fierce,” and described the meatball pizza as a “stunner.” A member of the Commune Kitchen team, Megan Langelier, noted that co-owners Justin Demers and Richard Niedzwiecki are moving on to different projects that will be announced on Commune’s social channels." - Dana Hatic

I work close in the area and I am so happy I came across this gem! Great fresh food for great prices! It can suck have so many fast food chains for lunch options! They offer breakfast as well I have tried the breakfast sammy with veggie sausage and the vegan bbq with mushrooms both amazing! I have referred co workers as well lol

Went looking for Queen Mother's chicken and finally realized it was in La Cocina and not it's own space (they do a great job of posting outside but it was still a bit confusing at first). We finally ordered our chicken (though Thursday Perogies were also calling us)... We then started talking to the staff and realized how interesting this place is. Nonprofit to support job creation in food/service industries, with this shared kitchen space (and more, seriously checkout their website). We loved our Queen chicken sandwiches and definitely want to come back and try out more food and support this amazing mission (the tapas menu looked amazing - next thing on the list to try is the Creamy Chicken and Coconut Rice Bowl by Valenciana).

The food was amazing and staff were so so friendly! The braised short rib was so tasty and so was the fried chicken. There’s a lot of seating inside and the space was very clean. I will definitely be back!

La Cocina Cafe is a one of Arlington VA's best kept secrets! The food is fresh and delicious. The cafe is a great spot for meet ups, lunches and more! Love this place!
