Kitchen Table Tulum

Kitchen Table has been our favorite in Tulum for years since we first visited it in 2021, and we were super excited to revisit them in a new location closer to the middle of the beach strip, now with convenient valet parking available as well. We love the open kitchen concept here, and you can see all the activity from almost any table in the restaurant. The team works together beautifully and kitchen fills with high energy and laughter, you can’t help it but appreciate their love for food and people. Best way to describe the food here would probably be by saying it’s somewhat of farm-to-table with amazing local ingredients but also with a layer of creative twist on top. Expect the unexpected and be prepared to experience something new. We were so in love we went twice during our stay this time and truly enjoyed both meals. Our appetizers included mushroom filled patty in mole sauce( liked it as something different to try), fish tostada( loved addition of chili that provided extra flavor but did not overwhelm with spice), and our main courses covered the absolute musts-pork belly cooked to perfection with crispy skin, melt-in-your mouth short rib, and lobster special on our second visit which we announce to be our best meal in entire week in Tulum. Our dessert choice was a new addition to the menu, a coconut mousse with mango puree and crunch which was beautifully presented in a coconut shell. We loved the gentle texture and mix of tropical flavors, but also did ask the chef to bring their salted caramel back, it’s a great staple we simply can not let go of. Cocktails did not disappoint, and Diablito always makes a cute presentation with its smoking hot flavors and red devil horns. Special thanks to chef Manuel Avila and his crew for not only cooking all this delicious food with us, but for sharing their kitchen experience with us and making us feel like family at home! Highly recommend and will look forward to return on our next trip.

One of the best parts of eating here is the feeling that you’re right in the kitchen. The open-fire setup, the smells, the sound of everything cooking—it all makes the experience feel personal and relaxed, almost like you’re hanging out with friends who just happen to be phenomenal chefs. I tried the tetelas and the short rib, and both were fantastic. The tetelas had that comforting, handmade feel with rich, local flavors. The short rib was ridiculously tender, full of smoky depth, and easily one of the highlights of the night. Kitchen Table’s reopening feels like a win for Tulum. Great food, thoughtful staff, and an atmosphere that pulls you straight into the heart of local cooking—I’d go back in a heartbeat.

One of the best restaurants and experiences I’ve ever had. Locatel is right in the middle of the jungle, the open kitchen, the music, and the whole vibe feel like a live show. I had the best ceviche of my life, an amazing short rib, and next-level cocktails. Can’t wait to go back! 😃

Had the best meal here for NYE. Each dish was paired with a drink and the flavours and presentation were stunning. This place is a gem and it’s fun to watch the kitchen! They clearly pour their heart and soul into this restaurant and it’s such a refreshing change from the big establishments nearby.

The menu didn’t look much but maybe this was the way that the English menu read as when the food came it was exquisite. Served with a smile. Definitely recommend coming back. Share small (or large plates) and enjoy the flavors.

Ordered starters and drinks all good and delicious. Asked for glass of wine from the menu, they didn’t have so we had to order another round of cocktails. Then ordered the mains, they forgot to put the order in. By the time they brought the food we were past the hungry moment. The fish was great though. Asked for the bill they added the food twice! Not a great service over all!

This restaurant makes everything the most delicious way possible. The service is the best in Tulum. Attentive but not too attentive. We came years ago at the old location and were so happy to see they were still in business their new location. The Mezcal Sour was amazing! We went twice because we could. I love the open kitchen. My wife says it is like watching The Bear without all of the craziness. Can’t wait to come back. Peace!✌️ We made a reservation so no wait.

We had a wonderful experience here during our last night in Tulum. Highly recommend the tasting menu to try a bit of all their best dishes. It was the perfect amount of food, everything was incredibly delicious, and the service was impeccable. The music was also fantastic and I’m so glad they have a link to share their playlist! Also, they seem to be one of the few restaurants in Tulum that doesn’t try to become a nightclub after 6pm. The ambiance stayed perfect. You won’t regret visiting!

Kitchen Table was an amazing experience. The food was excellent. The tasting menu was the way to go. We felt like we had front row seats to a live show. Well worth it.

Our favorite dinner of our last trip was here! We did the tasting menu and chose to order our drinks separately. Out of the The sourdough bread and the tostada are to die for. If we went another time, we'd choose from the other options on the menu. The lobster at the table next to us looked absolutely delicious. Service was undeniably slow on drinks, but the wait was worth it. Our table's favorites were the Marilyn Monroe and the Tangerina. Ambiance was lovely, just make sure you stock up on mosquito spray! They have some available at the front.

Overall we loved this dining experience. The only thing to watch out for is mosquitoes since it's right in the middle of the jungle. The restaurant provided both bug spray and smoke to drive the mosquitoes away but I still got eaten alive. Our favorite was the jungle bread. Extremely soft doughy bread that is just delightful. Ceviche was good but not as memorable for me. It has a nice tangy sauce. The roasted cabbage had great flavor and a nice balanced taste, although I tried to avoid eating too much of their sauce. The brisket was a pleasant surprise. The carrot puree came out perfect and folding everything into blue corn tortillas was a nice touch. Great Staff and would definitely recommend.

I celebrated my 30th birthday here and was just overwhelmed with how amazing of an experience Kitchen Table provided! Kitchen Table is in the open-air jungle and the vibe is just immaculate. Our server, Antonio, was so friendly and welcoming. He made us feel like we were a part of the Kitchen Table family right from the start. He explained all of the menu items, gave great recommendations, and also gave us a quick tour of the kitchen so that we had an idea of what was going on. We ordered so much food and drink, but here are some of the highlights: Fresh fish tostada: Delicious, fresh, I can't even put it into words! Plantain gnocchi: So lightly sweet, and creamy! Jungle bread: I wish I could just eat loaves of this bread. I don't understand how bread can taste so good??? And the smoke butter that comes with it..omg just fantastic. Fresh lobster: This was a true standout. We got to pick out our own lobsters and even name them! They were prepared with a smoked butter, salt and pepper. Wow. They were cooked to perfection and was some of the best lobster I've had! Our favorite drinks were: Welcome to the Jungle, Tangerina, and Diablito My boyfriend emailed back and forth with the restaurant to request something special for my birthday like sparklers. At first, the restaurant said that they didn't do sparklers, which made sense -- it wasn't really the vibe of the restaurant. But, everyone in the kitchen surprised me with a sparkler and sang happy birthday to me and just made me feel so special. I truly appreciate Antonio and the rest of the wonderful staff. Everyone went above and beyond to provide a memorable and delicious experience and I'll never forget it! I cannot wait for my next Tulum trip so I can come back and dine here.

We arrived today and first reservation we tried and accomplished was kitchen table. A contemporary local sourced restaurant in Tulum's Maya Jungle. Very charming innovative place. Use fresh products. Kitchen is well run and managed. It flowed so well no one was panicking. Just great team work. Food was absolutely flavorful. Delightful in my palate. Tender juicy perfect seasoning. I can't stop saying so much nice things about this place. Make your reservation. Def exceeded our palate. Can I pls take home that smoke carrot purée. Lord it just balanced the brisket so much. Had to asked for extra. sea bass was so soft. Not overcooked. Simply one of the best place I've eaten. Bravo.

The best dining experience during our trip to Tulum! The service, setting, food, music, everything was spectacular. We did the tasting menu, starting with the jungle bread, followed by the fish tostada and ceviche , mushroom quesadilla, bean soup, pork belly finishing off with a dessert. Everything was delicious, perfectly balanced flavors . It was fun to watch the chefs at work in the kitchen, all relaxed and happy. The trip to the restrooms was a fun walk through the jungle. To be a sustainable business and capturing the essence of Tulum, making being with nature a part of the dining experience while providing such a well crafted menu is an art in itself! It is a dining experience that I will cherish as one of the best takeaways of our trip to Tulum.

Ok meal, wouldn't go back. We had traveled all day and this was our first meal in Tulum. We had to walk about 25 minutes from our hotel and we were tired. The restaurant is a beautiful outside spot with soft lights and candles. We were seated right away, ordered cocktails and shortly after our meal. I started getting bit by mosquitoes pretty early during our visit but the provided me with bug spray. Cocktails we're great! My bf had a mezcal sour and I had a Marilyn Monroe. We started with the jungle bread which came out hot with butter and salt, it was delicious! For meals I had the ribs which were pretty tough and dry. There was a purée and greens which were ok, and a cooked jalapeño on the plate which was too spicy for me to eat. My bf ordered and liked the beef but he also found it tough. As shared before, we were tired so after our entrees we asked for the check. We waited a while (15-20 min) and nothing. My bf got up to ask a server again for the check and came back to the table to wait. A server finally came over but was giving us a shot to finish up the night. We again asked the the check. I think we ended up waiting a total of 30 minutes before they gave it to us and then they had to go get the machine to charge us. My bf thinks there might have been a language barrier and that they didn't understand what he was asking. Regardless it was frustrating after a long day.

We had an amazing night here. The staff is excellent, starting with the hostess who insisted on helping me down stairs when I had a few issues and continuing through the servers who never let our glasses get empty - water or booze. The atmosphere is beautiful, with great lighting, fun but not too loud music, and lots of greenery. They also set up nice smelling mosquito repellers and brought spray to our table, which was appreciated. The food completes the trifecta. We started meal with a number of appetizers - the sopa, the pork belly quesadilla, the ceviche and a salad. It was all amazing, with fresh ingredients, great sauces, and generous portions. We followed up appetizers with incredible dinners. I got the short ribs, two friends the fish and one the pork belly. We are all convinced we had the best dish, even though we all know it was really me. Not only were the ribs fall off the bone tender, but it came with a rice side dish that I will be searching the internet to see if can find a recipe for. Pretty sure it will involve sweet rice and rice vinegar. We all ate more of our dinners than should have, but didn't want to stop. Then, we continued to unbutton buttons and ordered dessert. The Salted caramel chocolate and the dark chocolate desserts were amazing. I initially didn't think I would eat the salted caramel as I dont believe nuts belong in desserts and this came with walnuts. But these were not your normal walnuts. Not sure how candied but they were great. I could have eaten whole dessert myself. The chocolate was rich and decadent. It is a pia to get anywhere on the strip, but this place makes it worth the effort

We chose this spot last minute and it was by far our favorite dinner during our trip! Our server Eduardo was awesome, he answered all our questions and gave great recommendations. Highly recommend trying their sourdough bread. Great scenery and loved watched the chefs in the kitchen.

This was probably one of my favorite meals in Tulum. The restaurant is tucked away in the jungle and all their ingredients are all locally sourced so everything is fresh and nothing is ever frozen. You're able to see the kitchen and the chefs cooking from almost every seat in the house, which is always an added bonus. The ambiance is very romantic and lit with candles surrounding the restaurant. We started off with the octopus carnitas and it was delicious! The octopus was crispy and flavorful and the flavor profile of the dish was well though out. My husband ordered the short ribs for his entree and I went with their catch of the day, which was seabass. The short ribs were super tender and fell off the bone. So delicious! The seabass was also very delicious and melted in my mouth. The drinks we ordered were also all delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and will definitely be back when we visit Tulum again!

It lives up to the hype if you are an adventurous foodie that doesn't want a tasting menu. Was this some Overton culinary experience....probably not but literally eating under a jungle canopy with quality service, cocktails, ingredients, and vibes can't be beat. Cocktails: amazing. I had the bourbon cocktail... it was a large drink, not a very turnt up large but larger than most cocktails. The sofa appetizer was amazing. Probablly my favorite food item. Multi layered flavors, super fresh and filling. My entree was the brisket... yes please. Nice portion. I wasn't a fan of the mole and scraped most of it off. The carrot puree was very tasty. I could slip the fried kale leaf. The grilled rice is weird...the rice cake is a little sour and pressed in a patty but has a intriguing charred essence. The service was amazing. If I'm randomly in Tukum again, I'd go back or at least refer it to others. Make a reservation, during the busy times its always booked. Parking. There is none. Take a taxi or park in designated parking lot. Towing is a thing or having to pay shady humans to unblock your car.

WOW - from the drinks, to the food, service and overall ambience. My husband and I arrived to Tulum pretty late in the evening but we were starving. Kitchen Table was a 3 minute walk from our hotel and the reviews looked good that we decided to try it. We ordered the ceviche, roasted cabbage, slow cooked beef, catch of the day and local pork. Everything was absolutely delicious! Also was obsessed with the craft cocktails. It was an amazing way to kick off our time in Tulum.

This is probably the best place I've eaten at while in Tulum. The ambiance is romantic whole in the walls vibes. Open style kitchen, and outdoor seating. The food is 10/10, we ordered the cabbage it was FANTASTIC. Also the sourdough, sopa, and catch of the day 10/10 would recommend. Would definitely come back, the servers are well versed in the menu items and are so friendly and welcoming. Would definitely come back!

Came here for the tasting menu. First was bread, which was great. When the second dish came, they started taking the bread without asking when my partner wasn't finished, not cool. The 3rd dish had some sort of sauce that was given to everyone else but not us. Maybe a biria? Not sure because we never got it. The main was beef, which was good but needed more moisture, either a little more sauce or juice inside the meat. The other main, was fish, which was too salty on it's own. The desert was good but a little underwhelming, a small bit of plantain with some nutella it seemed. Plating was great, everything looked good, so if that's what you're after, they'll deliver. At the end, after completely finishing our desert, we waited for over 10 minutes constantly trying to flag someone down before we just decided to leave cash on the table and take off. They finally saw us when we were leaving and they stopped my partner behind me because they still needed to print the ticket even though we prepaid (required for tasting menu) because we got a carafe of sparkling water (90 pesos). We told them we left cash already and they insisted we see the ticket. I took a look and pointed back at the cash and then left. I did not leave a good tip because we waited for so long and the place was basically dead and there was absolutely no need for us to be waiting so long. I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about the mosquitos, but it definitely was an issue and the place was constantly filled with smoke to counteract them. Definitely skip this place unless you want to come for a drink only because the vibe is cool. I wish we hadn't done the full dinner as it wasn't worth it.

Any traveled diner will realize within 24-hours of arriving in Tulum that Hartwood changed everything, nearly all its current competition including Kitchen Table built on the jungle side of the Carretera Tulum-Boca Paila with solar panel power and burning copal to keep the bugs at bay. Established in 2015, a relocation and change of toque to Chef Angie Mata breathing new life into a Restaurant and Bar built on seasonality and local fresh products, Kitchen Table features an open kitchen centered around a massive brick oven that is responsible for nearly everything not grilled over an open flame. Known for smart Mixologists and Vegetable-focused fare, everything offered reportedly native to Quintana Roo, dinner arrived as six plates divided into three courses, the first featuring crisp Pork on a Tortilla atop smoky black Sauce alongside a delicate Sope filled with Onions, Avocado and Cheese plus Chive Cream to balance aromatic Huitlacoche. Staffed by friendlier service than Hartwood or ARCA, a young woman fluent in English carefully explaining each dish, "Wonton" may seem out of place on a Mexican menu until one realizes the Vegan-friendly entry simply refers to pan-fried Dumplings filled with Squash and Tree Spinach, the bed of snappy Beans and Onion Foam so good that guests would be smart to order a few slices of Focaccia-like Jungle Sourdough to sop it all up. Prone to frequent change, though thick Dulce de Leche with Walnut Crumble remains a signature Dessert for good reason, another standout sweet titled "Gorillaz" finds Banana Cream smooshed between spiced Chocolate Wafers with Lemon Meringue adding texture.

I give this place five stars everything we had was on point AND the service was immaculate. Please note this restaurant is in the open air jungle. As soon as my husband and I arrived, we were welcomed with bug spray and cold towels to cool off with. Just amazing. We had the jumbo shrimp, bread and quesadilla special. The bread was so good with the smoked butter. The dessert was good as well. If you're Dominican, it's like having a boiled Platano with chocolate. At the end of the night, they brought free birthday drinks for my husband. It was a smooth coffee based drink. So nice of them!!

Altogether, five stars easily. I ordered the gnocchi and roasted beets salad to start. The waitress suggested that we also add the jungle bread which was a Paty sourdough loaf that was served warm with some incredible butter. I highly recommend that. An absolute awesome taste to start things off. My girlfriend order the Seabass and I ordered the pork belly for the entrées. Absolutely wonderfully done. The pork belly is braised overnight. And it has a very nice crispy and tender combination. What makes it more enjoyable was how friendly the staff was. They invited us to tour the kitchen where we could ask the chef questions about how he made the food. Because it is definitely uniquely cooked. They have a charcoal oven that does the magic. Definitely recommend them. Great drinks as well.

Food was acceptable, for the most part as being edible. This was our second time visiting the establishment. First time was last year, we expected same experience. We ordered fresh lobster, and pork ribs as the main. We also started with kids quesadillas, and adult quesadillas. The lobster was overcooked, recommend the chef invest in a thermometer. I knew it was gonna be charred when I saw the smoke in the kitchen, and the length of time the chef kept the lobster in the oven. It was dry, and lacked butter or any complex flavors. Also on the slightly over salted side. Potato side was excellent, and was a good addition. The pork ribs were also overcooked, they were closer to 160+F temperature not what I'm used to with pork being around 145F. The puree on the pork dish was actually the star of the dish. We lastly went 30+ minutes without a checkup on water, or anything else only at the end were we asked how the dishes were. At that point it's pointless to tell them it was subpar. Most likely will not be back.

Wow. A friend told me to try this place while in town and I'm so happy I did. The staff was so sweet, the food was amazing, and the open air kitchen made for a memorable experience. They even gifted the table in house made chocolate truffles!

One of the best meals I've ever had. We got the tasting menu and the catch of the day entree and everything was absolutely delicious and the staff was delightful. Couldn't recommend more!

By far one of the best restaurants we have ever been too! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch!!

We came to this farm to table Tulum restaurant for dinner. This is a more expensive restaurant, actually it was the most expensive one we visited while in Tulum ($132 USD for two, not including gratuity). The experience is interesting. The restaurant has a large, completely open kitchen set on a wooden stage-like structure, at a level just slightly higher than the ground in the middle of a jungle-like setting. The dining tables surround two sides of this open kitchen, making it the center of attraction. It's cool to see the chefs at work, the tools they use, etc and the very calm flow of things rather than the expected hectic kitchen. They have nightly specials and opted to try a couple of these. For one of our appetizers we had a tlacoyo, an oval, tortilla filled with beans and served with sausage and pico de gallo. We also decided to try their sourdough bread. Neither appetizer was great, the bread was missing that typical airy structure and sour taste that I'm used to when I think of sourdough, it was not my favorite at all. For one of our entrees we had a fish dish, it was fresh but kinda plain and boring. The other entree was the beef tongue special which was so delicious and actually really outstanding, it was the winner dish of the evening. The tongue was so soft and was served with a grilled sticky rice. For drinks we had the pulqui cocktail which was good, different. We also tried a couple of Mexican wines which were very good. For dessert we had the chocolate truffles which were a good end to our meal but probably more food than we needed. Service was excellent, as it should be and is expected in this type of restaurant with such high prices.

Another great dinner in Mexico. My favorites were short rib, Kitchen Table signature dish, which fell off the bone after being slow cooked for 10 hours, it was big enough to share, and mescal cocktail named pulqui served in clay cup that was a dead ringer for Ukrainian 'glechik'. Octopus appetizer was also quite good. Our friends liked their ceviche and grilled prawns. Caramel pot had nuts and cookie crumble that added a nice crunch but was a bit too sweet, good thing we shared it.

Ok so this is the place that I was excited the most and to be honest was not even in my top 5, they have only 3 things in the menu, we got lobster and after trying the lobster at parole, the lobster here was disappointing, we were looking for our waiter most of the time. The drinks were the only thing that saved the night because for dessert they only serve cookies which I was not amazed. For that price of a cookie I was expecting the best cookie ever and at least to be accompanied with ice cream, but not there. Not coming here again and do not recommend this place. I would say if you wanna have good food, go to parole or bak by Harris instead, don't equate your afternoon here. .

Wow - wow wow wow wow. The food at this place is absolutely phenomenal (as has service to match). This is a must-visit if you are in Tulum. We ordered a sopa, the octopus carnitas, the short ribs, and a cookie to finish the night. It's been weeks now and I still cannot get this place off my mind. The two appetizers in particular stood out to me. This was not only the best meal we had in Tulum, but was definitely one of my top 3 of 2020. Everything was so thoughtful and fresh, and while it certainly wasn't cheap, it didn't break the bank either. Highly, highly recommend.

So good, we came here twice. I would recommend coming here with a larger group so you can sample nearly everything on the menu, which is actually quite small. Appetizers: (1) Mushroom quesadilla: A++. My favorite dish. If I were to come here again, I'd get an order just for myself. Crispy and cheesy, with a generous stuffing of mushrooms; don't forget to slather the garlic aioli sauce. (2) Crispy shrimp: Essentially shrimp tempura. Can't really go wrong with something deep-fried. It also comes with two fried slices of jalapeño - eat these at your own risk. (3) Deviled avocado: Served on a bed of sea salt. Maybe sprinkle one or two crystals on top for maximum impact. It's actually pretty rich; even for someone who loves avocados and eats them like they're going extinct, I don't think I can finish a half. (4) Arugula salad: Came with lots of figs, grilled pineapple, sunflower seeds, and blue cheese. Not on the same level as the quesadilla but I just really wanted some greens. From the fire: (1) Ahi tuna steak: Just look at how it glistens in my picture. I actually thought the side of potato salad paired really well. (2) Pork ribs: Tasty but not as tender and fall off the bone as hoped for. If you're ordering appetizers, I would try this as an entree to split between two people. It also comes with the plantain fufu and some nicely sautéed greens. (3) Steak: Tried a bite of my boyfriend's. Dessert: OMG, get the salted caramel mousse. I don't even like caramel all that much and both times we came, it didn't matter how unbelievably stuffed I was, I pretty much licked the pot clean.

WOW....was this a treat or what?! While there's no glam or glitz or fun of other Tulum restaurants, you come here (with mosquito spray), when you want great food. The salsa macha here changed my life. Please sell it so I can buy it online! The fish tostada was absolutely phenomenal. As was the jungle bread. Definitely make a reservation here early and enjoy!

What a welcome change of pace we found at Kitchen Table after the hustle and bustle of Hartwood the night before. This restaurant is the real jungle hideaway. Unlike at Hartwood, there was no wait, no bachelorette parties, no defeating soundtrack and no unreadable menu board 10' away from the table. Oh, and did I mention the food was better, as were the drinks. It was less expensive too. We had a variety of appetizers and one main course. Each one had a unique taste that complimented the dish from the sourdough bread (order it!), roasted corn with guacamole mayo, sea bass ceviche and the best of all tostados with fresh sea bass. We will go back in a heart beat.

Lives up to the hype and then some. Excellent service, food and cocktails. If you find yourself in tulum and have money to burn, please go.

Very good (but not excellent) food in a fantastic environment. Love the eco-sustainability (100% solar and super local food). Our food: Grilled Deviled Avocado: solid, but unspectacular. The deviled egg mixture needed some more umami or spice. The puffed corn tortillas that came with this were amazing though! Arugula salad w/ grilled fruit & blue cheese: Awesome!!!! Perfect balance of flavors and textures. Highly recommend!!! Bread with roasted peppers: just ok. The peppers were good, but not enough of them. And the bread had good flavor but was too like a mix of a pita and a cracker for me. Ribs: good, not great. Not fall off the bone enough...needed to be cooked more slowly to regain some tenderness and juiciness. Chocolate ginger ganache: Yum!!! Great finish to the meal as the pudding had a perfect consistency and the right amount of ginger to add a tang but not overwhelm.

One of the best dining experiences I've had in years. Everything working together harmoniously in this place. Staff, ambiance, food and drinks were spectacular. We started with a seasonal drink and a Pickle Rick, (mezcal cucumber drink). Tried the sourdough loaf and fish tostada. Entrees were the brisket with a Mayan style mole sauce and a Mayan Chile relleno thing (can't recall the name). Wow!!! So very good!

So so so so tasty. We did family style here where we ordered a large portion of the menu and just passed around dishes. Think like other concepts out here, the menu changes quite a bit so won't spend too much time talking about the individual dishes but I will say you can't go wrong with anything they're doing with langoustines and other fresh seafood. The salads/vegi dishes were also really flavorful/enjoyable. I cared a little less for the chicken/steak here, but they were still solid. The cocktails are also delicious/unique and beautifully presented - with fun names. Definitely recommend trying at least one. Group of 8 came out to $7550 pesos, which is about $400 USD - so very affordable and I'd say we were pretty stuffed, and very content. I liked the ambience of this place more than KinToh and Hartwood which felt more buzzy and busy. This was really chill and depending on where your table was located, could be really quiet/felt more private. Food was comparable with Hartwood in my opinion, and better than KinToh. Tip: Bring bug spray for when you're sitting at the table- as with most tulum restaurants, tables are located outside and restaurant generally is not enclosed from the outdoors (pretty open-format such that any areas with overhead cover are still exposed to outdoors/no walls/doors). And there are definitely hungry mosquitos!

We had our birthday dinner at kitchen table and loved every minute of it. We made reservations online (they got back to us within 24 hours) and we even communicated with the restaurant via WhatsApp because we had trouble getting a taxi there. The restaurant is in the middle of the jungle with an open air kitchen so you can see hear and smell the chefs working their magic. The restaurant has bottles of DEET for customers (bye mosquitoes!). Our group of five ordered the following appetizers: Deviled avocado (large avocado yummy kinda spicy filling), arugula salad (so good with figs (?)), and the fried shrimp (I wish I got 5 baskets of this for myself). Main entrees: Pork ribs (how is it so juicy and crispy!), arrachera (drool worthy skirt steak), grilled octopus (so tender), ahi Tuna steak (so fresh and flavorful), and veggie tempura tacos (everybody's least favorite dish). The main entrees were served with scrumptious potato salad, plantains, sautéed spinach, etc. They served us all mezcal shots since we were celebrating our birthdays and we also got the chocolate ganache and salted butter caramel dessert pots. I preferred the salted butter caramel since the chocolate ganache had strong notes of ginger and goat milk. We highly recommend the restaurant. Aldo was our server and he was lovely. Come here for a nice dinner! Cash only!

- Had the sea bass. It was good but a bit salty for me. - Drinks were good. Bring bug spray. They do go around smoking the place but just double up on anything and everything. It's outdoors, near trees (which most of tulum was) but this restaurant, we particularly became mosquito buffet. Service at the end was EH. We had to ask for our check few times. Other than that, cute place. We did see that most of the guests came in just for drinks and not for food.

Mehhhh - I mean it's fine, but damn I walked in due to the reviews thinking I was about to have some amazing / mind blowing food - everything was SO salty. Service was excellent , drinks were excellent but the food left so much to be desired. They're are so many better places to eat in tulum I would absolutely skip this spot unfortunately :( What we had : Catch of the day - SO salty Beef brisket - basic but good Ceviche - high key delicious Sope - it is what it is basic but yum Esquites ( literally so horrible how can you even mess a dish up like this lol ) Jungle bread - everyone raves about this but meh I mean it's literally bread salt and butter nothing refined, nothing special All in all I literally loved my skinny margaritas and the services was great so come for small plates and lots of drinks :)

We left our hotel and walked to Kitchen Table. It was quite busy, but we were able to secure a table without a reservation. The setting is very intimate. It was nice to look around and see multiple parties enjoying each other's company. The music fit the setting and was not too loud. We could still hear one another. The food was excellent!! We ordered the fish tostada. It was out of this world!!! We also got ceviche, sopes, cauliflower steak, and the sea bass. Everything was delicious!! Our drinks were equally delicious! It was obvious that they paid attention to detail. Our waitress was excellent. She chatted with us in Spanish and English and introduced us to the bartender in case we ever wanted to come back and sit at the bar for a cocktail and practice speaking Spanish. It was really sweet. We will definitely be back!!

KT was one of the best meals of the trip. We were seated and reviewed the menus while they walked by us with smoke to keep the mosquitoes away. Throughout the meal I got to try two different whiskey cocktails which were both delicious and not too sweet. KT has some of the best cocktails. Everything looked good but we ended up ordering several appetizers and two specials - sea bass ceviche, jungle bread, sope, mole tamale, and fishtail with sikilpak. Standouts were the bread which was crunchy, soft and chewy. It came with a lima hummus but our waiter suggested pairing it with the avocado cream from the sope and he was SO right. That cream was good on anything. When someone tried to take it away, I almost smacked their hand. LoL I also loved the fishtail special. It was unique. You can eat the tail like a fish chip and dip it into the traditional Mayan sikilpak, made from pumpkin seeds and tomatoes. That spread also paired well with anything or you could eat it alone. The other dishes like the ceviche and sope were very good as well, but they didn't wow me like the other two. We ended the meal with a KT infused liquor cacao-tabaco. It was sweet and tasty. The service, food, drinks, and jungle ambience were terrific. I had a wonderful time. I haven't been to Hartwood but I would come back here before trying elsewhere.

Really loved this place. We stayed at Diamante K and it was just a short walk from our hotel. We stopped in last minute on our way back from the ruins on Valentine's day afternoon to make a reservation. The got us in at 9:30 Valentines Day evening. Think we missed a big crowd so it was perfect. The drinks were fantastic. My boyfriend loved the Playboy. We started with exquisite beet salad with a refreshing sauce. My boyfriend got the octopus (ugh in my opinion only because I dont like eating things that look like they did when they were alive, but he loved it). I got the Arrachera steak and it was quite possibly one of the best steaks I've ever had. So tender and the sauce was not overpowering but very complimentary. Fantastic service and very sweet and cute decor and atmosphere.

Ok, this place is brilliant! I would give it 4.5 stars but I'm feeling generous so went for the 5 over the 4. Its a contemporary, local sourced restaurant in Tulum's Maya Jungle. It has a jungle feel to it, you'd never know it was on the main road. The chefs have high quality creative food and bar program, driven by seasonality and local fresh products, Kitchen table it's the perfect venue for an intimate and romantic dinner with that special someone or with a mate. They have two seatings- one at 6pm and one at 9pm. Luckily our concierge had an "in" and hooked us up with an 8pm reservation. Perfect timing. You enter through a jungle like pathway and emerge into the hidden restaurant and bar. No need to bring bug spray- they have some there and you'll need it. Mosquitoes everywhere, remember you're in the jungle! We had a drink while we waited, not strong enough for me but still very tasty. I had the playboy cocktail, which you cannot go wrong with- the tequila here is awesome. We then had a starter of pork belly quesadilla and ceviche with rice crackers. The pork belly quesadilla was top notch- it was one of their specials of the evening. It came with a dill sour cream on the side that was amazing with it. As you would expect the ceviche in this area is fantastic. Fresh, Light and flavorful. The ceviche on this evening was a little salty I thought, but still very tasty. Paired with the rice crackers it was great! Next we moved onto the main dish- short rib with cauliflower mash- roasted leek and carrot. We also got a side of their roasted sweet potatoes. The short rib fell off the bone and was delicious. Some parts a little fatty for my gf, but I took those no problem. The jungle bread is freshly made and comes with an interesting lime butter. The lime butter is a paste and tasted unique. Almost like a pâté. Unique, but yet again tasty. The service was good enough for me. Americans I think are used to constantly being checked on, as a European I am used to being served when I first come in and then kind of left- this is how it was here. Whether they did this on purpose, who knows ‍ but she was knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and attentive enough. I would highly recommend this place for a good dinner if you're in the region. I would definitely go back. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Kitchen table is a cute little spot nestled in the jungle of the Pueblo part of Tulum. Everything from the drinks to dinner were exceptional. The staff was also extremely kind and attentive. Make sure you save room for dessert and a pour over coffee. They roast the beans on site and the desserts are delicious and pair perfectly with it. The cocao ice cream cookie sandwich was epic! Only call out is if you're going at night during rainy season be sure to cover up and load up on bug spray!

This was an unexpected surprise. We looked at the menu and liked the choices. We had no idea of the great experience we would have with the tastes and the service. We started with a grilled fruit salad and a deviled avocado along with a couple of cocktails. This was one place that had bourbon other than the standard mezcal or tequila. For dinner a perfectly cooked steak and pork belly that was so tender yet crispy we were taken aback. After dinner asked for a dessert menu and we were whisked away to back area dining lounge area deeper in the jungle. Here they offered fresh coffees, cigars, dessert, and a place to talk away from the main dining area. Everything was spot on.

Ambiance is chill and low key, jungle vibes. The other places in Tulum are great with their loud, trendy, club/restaurant type atmospheres, but this place has a more relaxed environment. But don't underestimate the food game they have going on here. Top-notch ingredients and really creative dishes! The octopus carnitas starter was the best dish we had in Tulum!

FOOD The drinks and appetizers were the stars of the evening, though we also enjoyed the entries, including the beef tongue (yes!). Fresh seafood is plentiful in Tulum, so it's not hard to find. But it's also easy to overcook. This was not the case here. The portions, preparation, and accompaniments were all perfect. ATMOSPHERE With a central open kitchen, on-point lighting, and comfortable and unique seating nooks, the place is a sight to behold. Watching all the bustling activity and "kitchen calls" was fun, and really helps set a serious one elegant tone for the place. It's a little buggy on the jungle side, so be sure to bring some plant-based bug spray. SERVICE Service was decent, and expected. COVID Covid protocols followed. A+

Had an amazing culinary experience when we ventured to Kitchen table. The wait staff was dressed in Day of the Dead attire, which I thought was creative and knew from then on this was going to be a phenomenal outing. Every dish we tried, was nothing short of amazing and kept you wanting more (especially the short ribs - so glad we gave in and ordered!) The menu is consistently rotating, but I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you add it to the list! Make sure you grab a reservation because we almost missed out, only able to get one at 9pm in advance.

Amazing ambiance and great vibes. The whole place is outdoors, so note to spray those legs if you're a mosquito magnet like me but everything here was delicious, I'd give them 5 stars but my jalapeno margarita was so sweet, I honestly couldn't drink it. Aside from drinks, the food was fantastic. We started with Ceviche for our appetizers and then choose to go with the special for the night, which was the cow tongue. The most tender tongue surrounded by what looked and felt and smothered my meat like gravy. The dessert truffle was fantastic and ideal for a chocolate lover like me. On a final note, the bathrooms are far. Like there is even signate to tell you to "keep going". I woulda took a pic but I was running. LOL. Great stop and excellent service!
