Speakeasy-themed bar in an unmarked corner space offering small plates & a lengthy cocktail lineup.
"We love this Filipino speakeasy for a surprise party. That’s mostly because it’s a great place to drink, but also because it’s fun to lead the oblivious guest of honor to a spooky, unmarked door. When you have a reservation here, you’re in for incredibly bright and citrusy cocktails alongside Filipino snacks like lumpia, grilled paneer with gingery mushrooms, and a tangy steak sandwich with Velveeta that’s so good it surpasses nachos and/or macaroni as the best thing involving melty processed cheese." - aimee rizzo
"There’s a good chance you’ve passed by this unmarked door after one too many picklebacks at Montana. At this Filipino spot, unlike many speakeasies that just have cocktails and a few small snacks (if you’re lucky), Knee High Stocking said, “not on our watch.” Alongside their cocktail menu, they serve excellent dishes like lumpia, chicken adobo garlic-rice plates, and a plant-based sisig. Just note that the space is tiny, and you can’t get in without a reservation. Plus, they’re strict with seating times—don’t expect to enter even a minute early. " - kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo
"Sometimes an elderflower cucumber mint cocktail at 11am is necessary for your Saturday. Get that at Knee High Stocking Company, an unmarked speakeasy in Capitol Hill where it’s literally a rule that you can’t bring anyone you wouldn’t bring to your grandmother’s house. Leave the Jagerbomb-loving crowd at home, celebrate the weekend with some top-tier cocktails, and take in the elegant space complete with paintings of cherubs and fruit. If you need a place to kick off some surprise birthday festivities, Knee High is a very good choice." - aimee rizzo
"Pamela Miller, co-owner of Capitol Hill’s Filipino speakeasy Knee High Stocking Co., has been adjusting to earlier closing times since March and expanded the bar’s day hours to accommodate its takeout window Jeepney." - Gabe Guarente
"Filipino speakeasy Knee High Stocking Company is offering its full menu for curbside pickup (no cocktails, though)." - Gabe Guarente
