I was eager to try out this popular spot, with a cool and fun outdoor presence in the Knox/Henderson area. The hostess and wait staff were helpful, kind, and prompt, but the food was lacking for me.
I ordered the Hot Chicken and Biscuits, which came with two eggs (side note: yay, yum!). But when the food arrived, albeit quickly; as I was cutting into the first biscuit, I noticed that the hot chicken was simply breaded chicken with a buffalo sauce, to accompany it, upon half of a biscuit. In addition to this, the gravy was almost sweet in contrast to the sour and spice of the buffalo flavor, which just wasn't a wonderful combination.
Otherwise, presentation was great and the dish was interesting, especially if you are looking for a new twist on the southern classic. Personally, I love a good peppered gravy and am a huge fan of any form of hot chicken, but I was thrown off by the general flavor profile of this take on this classic brunch item. It would have also helped to have had some salt or pepper shakers on the table, but it seemed to be not available unless requested and we had only interacted with our waitress to order and for the check.
Overall, my score is mainly representative of what I ordered and not an accurate representation of the service I received, thank y'all regardless! The general vibe of the place is welcoming, hip, and warm with a touch of industrial flair, almost Austin-reminiscent! Lots of negative space makes the place feel large and would be a great place to host an event of some sort. I look forward to coming back another time in the day and trying something of the lunch/dinner menu.
