We enjoyed the tasting menu at Restaurant Koefoed—beautifully orchestrated, thoughtfully presented, and full of flavour. The Bornholm-inspired setting with its vaulted white arches added to the charm, and the warm service made for a truly lovely evening. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Copenhagen!

Koefoed is perhaps one of the coziest restaurants I’ve visited in Copenhagen, and the food was absolutely amazing. They started us off with complimentary snacks and bread, and the bread was a standout—so delicious! They also cater to gluten-free needs. The starter was absolutely delicious, and this quality continued through to the main course and dessert. In fact, we weren’t disappointed by a single dish. It was a true culinary adventure, and one I’ll definitely revisit.

Walked in for lunch on a Saturday and we managed to get a table for 2. It’s a smaller menu of only smørrebrøds and the food was delicate and lovely. We tried 2 types of herring and the fried fish fillet and all of them were amazing. Ambiance was cosy and comfortable as well.

The chef's take on the oxtail did it for me. Man, that took me by surprise. Every dish was good, but THAT Oxtail blew me awayyyy... superb service, great attention to details by staff, sufficient intimate space. The single client, as well as a couple on date night, would both feel at ease. Highly recommend 👌

Had a beautiful lunch on a rainy Tuesday. The interior is beautifully designed with a bright and cozy interior. The menu is not overly complicated. Each bite of our lunch was divine. The few others enjoying lunch seemed to be local business people. I would imagine dinners to be busy with soft and warm light in the alcoves. The staff were knowledgeable and professional. We loved our dining experience and highlight recommend for a lovely Danish meal. This is a Michelin star I truly appreciate. As another reviewer said, not pretentious simply delicious.

Good but not great. Apart from the shredded crab dish, there were few dishes with distinguishing flavors and many came with a variant of a white sour cream sauce that did not pop much. They often succeed with the mouth feel of the combinations with crispy ingredients offsetting smoothness, for example. The veal dish was a bit tough and not so flavorful. The wine accompaniment was OK (2023 Barbera d’Asti too young and rough to be in the lineup) so you are better off picking what you know and like from the wine list. The breads were excellent and the service was very professional and friendly. The below ground setting is cozy with a series of enclaves seating 3-6 tables so you get a sense of enclosed intimacy. Overall price vs performance will be better elsewhere in Copenhagen.

Let's star with the positive: great service, friendly and cozy atmosphere. Now the less positive aspect. I had the lunch menu. The curry herring was flavorful on its own, but drowned in a sweet-sour curry sauce that completely overwhelmed the dish. The shrimp Smørrebrød was decent - nothing special - but the marinate started soaking through the bread, making it soggy. The biggest disappointment was the burger-style tartare Smørrebrød. It missed the mark entirely. Serving a raw burger patty "tartare-style" doesn’t work when the texture is chewy. The mix of capers, pickles, and raw egg didn’t complement the meat at all. It was off balance.

Wonderful dining experience. Everything was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful.
