This new omakase place opened in April 2025 in the heart of the theatre district, servicing the after-work crowd and Broadway-goers. Diners are seated around a square counter, served on three sides by several sushi chefs who prepare a 90-minute dinner composed of one appetizer (raw oyster with ponzu and ikura), followed by 14 pieces and a handroll.
The selection ranged from madai to three cuts of tuna (akami, chutoro, otoro), seared wagyu, uni handroll, and even offering some rarer fish from Japan like kinki and nodoguru (both rich and fatty), shimaaji, and kegani (hairy crab). While I found the uni portion in the handroll a bit skimpy, I was impressed that Jason, the sushi chef, brought out an entire hairy crab and expertly prepared a mini kegani don (hairy crab over rice) on the spot.
The chefs and host were warm, personable, and generous -- offering complimentary pours of sake and engaging in friendly conversation. We will absolutely be returning and highly recommend the spot to anyone looking for a quality omakase experience on Broadway.
