I had a fantastic dim sum experience here! Every dish was delicious — from the savory stir-fried rice noodles with tender beef to the comforting bowl of congee. The dim sum in the bamboo steamers was fresh and flavorful, and the variety made the meal exciting from start to finish. The restaurant itself is clean, modern, and relaxing, making it a perfect place to enjoy a traditional Cantonese breakfast. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic and well-prepared dim sum.

Food is okay. Service is pretty good, fast service, fast seated if you made reservations. Pan seared soup pork dumping - it’s more like soup dumpling but thicker skin. Not recommended. Shrimp rice crepe - crepe skin is a little thick Crispy durian puff and swan pastry with taro filling - I prefer the black swan, but if you like durian worth to try durian puff(not too sweet) Wasabi walnut prawns - good, but coat could be more crispy and less thick Almond garlic wagyu beef cubes - way too many veggies, but taste good Scallop over pea shoot tendrils - salt was spread evenly :( some bite is salty than others. Overall, good experience!

One of my favorite things about Koi Palace Contempo is that they serve dim sum later in the day! Very few places do that. We ordered Har Gow, Chicken Feet, Sesame Balls, Shanghai XLB, Crab Claws, Chicken Shui Mai, Poached Gailan, BBQ Pork Rice Crepe, and the Pineapple Bun. It looked like we hardly put a dent in the menu too, lots of good items, with some decent vegetarian options as well. All of it was excellent and I would recommend these items to my friends. The staff were friendly and welcoming and quick too! I was not expecting that. Henry was our server and he packaged up some of our left overs for us and gave us a complimentary pudding dessert. The atmosphere was calm and well lit. Lots of space! They also have WiFi. I can say for sure that we will be coming back.

My friend and I keep coming back to this place for dinner. The restaurant has two different dining areas adjacent to each other - a large hall in the back, and a smaller, more cafe-like dining area in the front. We like going to the front which has an inviting atmosphere - neatly set up tables surrounded by lots of natural light during the day and a warm ambiance in the evening. The welcoming and attentive service really sets this place apart (for example, whenever they notice something, such as our glasses of water getting low, they take care of it so quickly before even being asked, which I am so thankful for. I don't need to interrupt my friend's conversation trying to flag down the server) The food is good and sometimes we have trouble deciding what to order for the day. One of the servers, Henry, always helps patiently answer questions about the menu and gives great recommendations 👍 thank you so much!

After coming to the US, I hadn't had Lobster Yifu Noodles for a long time, and this place is quite good! The scallion pancakes are also delicious, and the service is very nice. I don't understand why the ratings were low before; overall, it's really worth trying!

Had an awesome lunch at Koi Palace Contempo with a friend on Saturday! It was pretty busy, but we only waited about 10 minutes before getting a table, which was great. We got the Steamed Pork Ribs with Taro, Crispy Dumpling with Minced Pork Filling, Braised Yi Noodles, and Vegetarian Delight. Everything was super tasty! The Braised Yi Noodles and crispy dumplings were definitely our favorites. The portions were huge, so we even had leftovers to take home. The place has a cozy and romantic vibe, which made the meal even better. The staff was really nice and checked on us just enough without being too much. I also liked their new menu—lots of tasty new options at good prices. We spent about $80 for two people, which felt totally worth it. Definitely coming back!

We celebrated Mother’s Day at the Koi Palace, Cupertino Main Street, great place to go with either a couple of friends or having a big family get together. We had 10 people, and the other families at other tables had at least 12 or more. We all loved the food, and had a great Mother’s Day dinner. All the dishes were delicious, “A picture is worth a thousand words”. How true! Even though the restaurant was fully booked but the dishes came out quickly. The service was great. A true Five-Star restaurant. The Apple wood smoked Peking duck was very well prepared. Luckily they had the roasted pork with jelly fish available that day. The har how and fish dishes were not pictured due to we were too busy eating them. It was a live fish bones cooked in soup and the body of the fish were stirred fried, the best was the soup came in a huge pot and the soup was so delicious, that we took the rest home. Great place!

Excellent Cantonese style dishes. Dim sum served all day in addition to other meat, vegetable, and rice dishes. Good stuff.

Yelp
Great customer service! This meal really hit the spot. I wasnt feeling my best and the fish maw snail chicken soup was just what I needed - and indeed it was absolutely comforting and delicious. Since my girlfriend is allergic to shrimp, we went with the beef and pork soup dumplings, unagi rice crepe and bbq pork rice crepe. Everything was fantastic! Such a great experience and we'll definitely be recommending this place to our friends.

Yelp
Fast and efficient service, delicious foo, and a lively ambiance. We may have ordered too much for two but we were glad to try the soup dumplings, sesame sponge cake and rice crepe with the house special sauce. Eeverything was just as good as expected. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Had a great dim sum brunch with my family at Koi Palace Contempo! We came as a family and ordered Scallop Shiu Mai, Shanghai XLB, Crispy Daikon Cake, Poached Gailan with Oyster Sauce, and Wonton Noodles. Everything was super tasty, and we all left feeling full and happy. There was a bit of a wait, but it was totally worth it. So nice to have such a good dim sum place in the South Bay! The vibe was cozy and perfect for a family meal. Parking was easy, which made things even better. After eating, we walked around the area for a bit. We'll definitely be back again!

Yelp
Modern and clean, however, that's all it has going for it. I had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience did not match the atmosphere. Despite the decor, the service was super slow. We waited a long time for our food, and even getting a simple request was a stretch. They also double charged us for an item, which ended up being corrected. For the prices, it was expected a level of service that reflected the cost, but it fell far short. Definitely not worth the time!!

Yelp
Yelp reviews of Koi Palace put it on our radar for a special occasion. The opportunity presented itself when our oldest daughter wanted Dim Sum for her Birthday Brunch. Parking was challenging but after circling the shopping center several times a parking spot opened up near the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy but we were seated upon entry. More upscale in decor than our regular Dim Sum favorites this carried through in the presentation of the dishes we ordered. We were pleased that the food was as delicious as it looked. While the final bill was a bit pricey it felt worth it for the special occasion that we were celebrating.

Yelp
Except for the Typhoon Shelter Shrimp Dumpling which was too small, everything else was ok. The most recommended dish is the half-roasted duck with crispy skin。 As soon as the whole family came back, we rushed to here to eat this dish recall our sweet memories. The skin was super thin and crispy. They used to have white sugar for dipping for duck skin but there was no white sugar today, however, Purple sweet potato shreds was come with the sauce box, I wonder if the way of eating it has changed. There are only 7 bread skin for wrapping Service: 10/10 訂位後再來都不用等。服務很快很照顧客人的需要。 No need to wait after making a reservation. The service was fast and attentive to the guests' needs. Ambiance: 5/10 當桌子擺很近時, 別桌如果講話大聲, 吃飯的氣氛會被干擾到。我們就很不幸一直聽到很大聲的對話。希望能再把客桌的間距安排更分開些。 When the tables are placed close to each other, if people at other tables talk loudly, the dining atmosphere will be disturbed. Today, We were unfortunate to hear loud conversations all the time. I hope the guest tables can be arranged better next time.

Yelp
Elegant and clean interior, definitely a step up from most dim sum spots. Service was just okay, nothing special. Prices were noticeably higher than the Milpitas location. Checked in for a free dessert, but turns out you can only get the oolong red jujube jelly ($6), which looked nothing like the menu photo. Wanted egg tarts, so that was a letdown. Also, there is a 4% wellness charge added to the bill, it is mentioned on the menu but not very noticeable. Overall, I would still rather go to Koi Palace in Milpitas!

Yelp
Had Sunday family dinner here. Our reservation was at 5:45pm and there was plenty of seating when we arrived. Please note that they have two separate dining areas that are accessed separately from outside, so if you're meeting someone, make sure you know which one you're meeting at! The location we sat at had a bar in the middle and was generally quiet which was nice for a relaxing dinner. The menu was extensive and our server came around to tell us about a cod special they were doing where they cooked the fish two different ways and also made a soup from the bones. We ordered that, xiao long bao, egg yolk fried pumpkin, chicken feet, stuffed yuba, duck friend rice with truffle, and pea sprouts. Of the dim sum selection, the xiao long bao and stuffed yuba were the top picks. The xiao long bao came with these vinegar pearls that melted once you put it on the dumpling. They were juicy and flavorful. The stuffed yuba was delicious, with a variety of textures. Not completely sure what was inside but I'd order it again if I came back. The fried pumpkin was a pass for me. I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste but it seemed under seasoned/bland. I wish it came as a half order as I was just looking to try it. Duck fried rice was pretty good but there wasn't much truffle flavor. You can smell the truffle a little but not really taste it. The pea sprouts were tender and delicious. The two styles of the cod dish were sauteed and steamed. Both with a variety of vegetables and sauces. Both were very good, especially paired with the fish bone soup (very collagen-y and almost creamy). They also gave us a sweet dessert soup with tapioca pearls after our meal. The only thing was that we sat in the corner and no one came to check on us when we were ready for the check, so I had to go to the bar to ask the closest worker. But overall, the food was tasty and there is so much variety that there are so many more things to try. The prices are also a bit high, but I would recommend this place for some good Chinese cuisine.

Yelp
It's LIKE Koi Palace but with a twist! O R D E R E D * Boneless Hainan Chicken Rice * Cold Chicken Feet * Sour Cabbage with Fish * Ikura dumplings * Scallop sui mai * Lobster shrimp dumplings * Pineapple buns with butter * Hainan chicken rice * Sitcky Rice V E R D I C T Koi Palace Contempo is a delightful twist on the classic Koi Palace experience. While it shares the same high-quality standards, it's not your traditional dim sum spot. In fact, their menu is about 99% different and focuses more on entrees than dim sum! I've only visited for lunch, so I can't speak to their dinner offerings, but here's what I can tell you: If you're planning to come, try to arrive before 12 PM to beat the lunch rush, as it can get busy. Their menu features unique items you won't typically find at other places. Some of my favorites include: * Ikura dumplings * Scallop sui mai * Lobster shrimp dumplings * Pineapple buns with butter They do have a small selection of dim sum items, but the real highlight here is their extensive menu, offering something for everyone. Bonus points for convenience! There's a large public parking lot right across from the restaurant, so parking is a breeze. If you're looking for a modern Chinese dining experience with creative and unique dishes, Koi Palace Contempo is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I was excited to try this new place and the ambiance is nice & clean and the duck is really good, along with the free coconut milk dessert at the end but that's about it...very overpriced, unfriendly service and rest of food was whatever... First off, there's another Koi Palace in Milpitas so don't get confused as this one is in the Cupertino strip mall right next to Alexander's.... Also, there is a Koi Palace Contempo plus next door so don't get confused either... The duck was nicely done and presented but for $38 it was so little and the rice paper they gave was soooo thin it kept getting stuck with the paper....my father in law almost ate the paper multiple times...lol The whole steamed fish was also $38 and the worst whole steamed fish I've had in my life....it was all mangled up with tons of bones so we had to be very careful... The garlic poo shoots were good and the fried noodles with mushrooms weren't bad either but just overpriced for what they were.... I guess u have to pay the location & ambiance premium.... Lastly, as expected from most Chinese restaurants, service was horrible and I had to constantly flag staff down for some napkins or water.... I think this place is overrated and probably won't be going back...

Yelp
My first time to come here and I like the ambiance, menu selections, and the service. While there was a bit of wait getting the other orders for dimsum, it was fine and everything was made fresh. We liked the chicken feet, a different flair to it than other dim sum places. Main Street Cupertino has been one of my favorites places to go with family and friends. I never had problems looking for parking whether in the garage or outdoor. Resto is practically across the parking garage.

Binh P.

Yelp
Large dining area and even for dinner you can order from the dim sum menu. Went with a couple of friends so we got to try out a variety of dishes. Got salted egg yolk lava buns, durian puffs, coffee short ribs, wagyu and morel stir fry, seafood pan fried noodles, beef soup, chopped clams, and wasabi walnut prawns. Everything came out in a timely manner but the taste wasn't spectacular. Wasabi walnut prawns were interesting, but it didn't taste very crisp. Beef soup tasted like pho broth. I liked the seafood pan fried noodles, and it was even tastier when paired with the wagyu and morel stir fry. But I don't think the morels tasted like anything, but glad there was a large amount of beef. Not a fan of coffee short ribs just because I'm not a coffee fan. There's still plenty of dishes to try, but just have to choose carefully.

Yelp
Sorry this place is lame as hell lol Got there at 12:40PM for a 1:00PM reservation and I tried to talk to the hostess but every time I got her attention someone would come and interrupt and she paid attention to the other person every time. Happened like 5 times. Girl, you need to be trained as a hostess because if you are mid-convo with one customer you tell the other customer to wait until you're done helping the first!! I finally was able to check in and tell her my party is here for OUR RESERVATION. She said I was "too early" and that it was "only 12:30" well, I held my phone up and said girl, it's 12:55 lmao She proceeded to tell us to wait outside because our table still had people. I don't mind this usually but the restaurant needs proper host training and timing of their tables. This is terrible service. It's also a shit show in there with so many people crowding the entrance and yelling for the host's attention. We waited 25 minutes and still did not get our table so we decided to just leave and grabbed a table at Fogo de Chao nearby lol INSANE to be 25 minutes late and counting on a reservation for overpriced dim sum! If you want overpriced dim sum with GOOD service just head over to din tai fung. lol

Yelp
Koi Palace Contempo definitely lives up to the hype of Koi Palace as a dim sum restaurant. Usually, I like traditional dim sum with the Shrimp Har Gow , Siu Mai, and other classic cantonese dishes. Koi Palace Contempo does a great job at the classic dishes and unique take on new dishes. Food: All the dishes seem like they were made fresh and their baked BBQ buns were extremely fluffy. The Lobster Lo Mein Special for dine in came with a 1 to 1.5 pound live lobster. Siu Mai and Har Gow came out well and extremely flavorful. Only reason for 4 stars is that we went twice in one week and the food didn't taste as good as the first time since some dishes came out lukewarm. Koi Palace also takes reservations which is tough to find in the Bay Area. Service was extremely prompt and we got seated within minutes. Overall would recommend to anyone in South Bay and a great addition to Cupertino.

Claudia S.

Yelp
We ordered the Peking duck which I haven't had in a while, they had the thin wrappers instead of the buns, but it was good. My son who's never had Peking duck liked it a lot. We also ordered the Xiao long bao and taro swans, they were good, but I wasn't expecting a savory taro dish since it had meat, I thought it was a dessert. Service was good, but I waved down the manager since no one stopped by to take our order, he was nice.

Laltoo B.

Yelp
Contemporary Chinese cuisine with a modern twist. Swanky new place in Main street Cupertino. Spicy Seafood dumplings was just ok, Lobster with Yi Fu noodles - Looked beautiful, personally I have difficulty scraping for meat, but the broth with noodles was very tasty, sizzling Pork with Black pepper sauce, nice sauce. Portion sizes are pretty small for the price. Service is fine.

Shirley F.

Yelp
Walked in on a Friday night around 6pm and there were PLENTY of seating. Service was on point as we were the only ones there. Black Truffle Duck Fried Rice - This was BLEW my mind, didn't expect it to taste the truffle and the duck was seasoned perfectly Wasabi Chicken & Pork Intestine - Never had this before, though, it was surpringly nice with a kick of wasabi Garlic Pea Shoots - Very safe choice Dessert - They serve the standard mung bean soup Anyways, I definitely recommend y'all stop by when you're in the area.

Shia L.

Yelp
Reliably great flavors. Traditional and innovative dishes abound. Clean and modern environment. The best thing is that they accept online reservations for even just 2 people?! I hate big lines for dim sum so that pretty much locks this place down for me whenever I crave for dim sum. The only thing I had here that I didn't like was a crab roe + tofu hot dish. The tofu tasted sour like it went bad. I wish I complained back then but I let it slip because of the otherwise consistently good experience.

Zeng W.

Yelp
The worst service we ever had. We waited forever for the food and we have to go to the front desk multiple times to check. Crab and fish are all way over cooked which we spent over $1000 dollars. The whole time we are there no one ever came checkin on us or change our plates. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Cristy L.

Yelp
The best thing about this restaurant was the service. It is very clean and the staff are attentive. However, the taste is quite lacking compared to Palette Tea Garden and Koi Palace. The food overall was quite salty. The broth of the lobster noodle was flavorful but the lobster itself was nothing special. For the price point I didn't think I was getting anything special than typical dim sum.

Bethany W.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and we enjoyed the food! It was a weekday lunchtime, so we didn't have to deal with crowds. We ordered the half applewood smoked Peking duck, beef chow fun, and mushrooms with egg tofu in clay pot. Everything was well-prepared and service was friendly and fast. We received a date oolong jelly dessert when we checked in on Yelp. Would consider coming back if I'm ever around Mainstreet Cupertino.

Ngoc L.

Yelp
Service was just as bad and they over charged our tab. We waited too long for our order which ended up being subpar. For the price, we expected much better. Not worth it and will not return.

Kevin C.

Yelp
We came here during a rather busy lunchtime but were fortunately seated immediately. Perhaps due to the busyness of the place, or perhaps since they don't verify your order with you, we ordered 7 dishes, the receipt said we had 8 items but listed only 6, and we ended up being served only five of them. Service was more than spotty - it took us multiple requests to get utensils for our kids. And depending on the dish, some portions were either small or expensive. But our favorites were the crispy fried fish skin and dried scallop and egg white fried rice, both of which were absolutely amazing. All of the food tasted delicious and isn't that what matters most anyways? Our sixth dish finally came after we went to pay and tried to cancel it - they gave it to us on the house anyways. Overall, it wasn't their best service effort but the food was still amazing.

Judy C.

Yelp
Solid dim sum spot that was surprisingly not full on a Saturday and had good service. I came with my parents and their friends who had made a noon reservation on a Saturday. I was surprised to see that unlike the locations of Koi/Palette on the Peninsula, there was no line. We were greeted right away by a friendly and welcoming waiter. The two entrances were a little confusing but it wasn't a big deal as we were seated promptly. Since the parents ordered, I don't have a sense of prices but I'd imagine it's on par with the other Koi/Palette locations. Service was quite attentive and friendly here. Our tea was filled quickly, order taken quickly, and other requests by the parents accommodated. The food was pretty solid - shu mai was meaty, soup dumplings were juicy, chicken feet were tender, and nothing was too greasy. Nothing blew my socks off but I also don't have any major complaints and only nits. Sadly, the only version of radish cake they have is breaded and fried. My favorite dish (not really dim sum) was the egg tofu in clay pot.

Clarisse T.

Yelp
still like this place every time i tried it! got some new dishes today such as bbq pork buns, pork blood with chives, wagyu beef pot stickers etc - all were pretty good and flavorful! was pleasantly surprised by the wagyu beef pot stickers since i'm always skeptical about dumplings/pot stickers in general at restaurants. pork bbq bun was also a pleasant surprise - good flavor and good lightly glazed bun!

Guy K.

Yelp
In A Nutshell: -I really enjoyed this Koi Palace location in Cupertino. -The lobster noodle for $28.99 is a nice deal, but you can only order it while dining at the restaurant, you can't order it for pickup/takeout. -It's a big enough portion to split between 2-3 people. -The other dim sum items were all delicious, no complaints. Overall, I like that Koi Palace has this location in the South Bay as an option.

Lu Y.

Yelp
Checked out the new Koi Palace in Cupertino today, and it did not disappoint! The place was buzzing, but we got seated quickly. We went all in and ordered a mix of dim sum and stir-fried dishes--Spicy Seafood Dumpling, Steamed BBQ Pork Bao, Crispy Beef Brisket, Three Shrimp Fried Rice, and Stir-fried Wagyu Beef with Black Pepper Sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor, and the portions were super generous! The prices were reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. The ambiance was a cool mix of modern and traditional, with elegant Chinese ink paintings adding to the vibe. Service was friendly and on point, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a solid spot for dim sum and stir-fry lovers--we'll be back for sure!

Hnin T.

Yelp
First time coming here and the food was delicious. The dim sum here are pretty unique and everything was so delicious. The service could be better they barely checked on us and they looked like they were low on staff. The restaurant itself is in a great Cupertino food district. There are other food places like hai di Lao hot pot near by. The parking area is a bit small so definitely get there early. The 5 flavored XLB were good. I didn't taste too much of a difference in flavor but they were yummy. What was delicious was that Peking duck skin. The sauces and vegetables that came with it were so delicious. The rest of the dim sum were delicious too.

Jungmin P.

Yelp
I had a lunch with my kids. The food is delicious and looks beautiful too. The staffs are very friendly and nice. They have lots of menu looking delicious and keep updating. We will definitely come back and try these new menus soon! FYI, the dish came out fast on eating order. That's one of the great things especially when you come with impatient kids :)

Yelp
I love dim sum, but dim sum become more of business then for food. This place have great delicious dim sum. Love it . Especially the taste are like Hong Kong. But the quantity is way blow and the price it way high. Little dissatisfied. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (4 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean. 3) Price: ( 2 point)- The price is not competitive , still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are below average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of Hong Kong food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in Hong Kong. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Go foodies Total max is 25 Score 18 Stars = 72% round up to 3 stars

Yelp
*First time review, dined indoors* My friend and I came here in the middle of the week on a Thursday and there was only one other table besides us. We were hungry and thought, nice, we will get our food quickly! I don't think the lady spoke English very well but luckily my friend speaks Mandarin and was able to communicate with her. So.... Majority of mine came out right away but my friend's beef took nearly an hour! Everything I got was 5/5 personally hence the rating; had the beef bao and walnut shrimp. His beef was meh imo. Was kind of awkward to be totally done with my meal and he barely got his.

Yelp
My friends and I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We had previously made a reservation and were seated upon arrival. Koi Palace here has two different restaurants: the full scale one & the express. The express restaurant is in the front. The regular restaurant is towards the back next to the Thai restaurant. Food: We ordered a number of different dim sum dishes. You mark a menu with the items you're interested in. I particularly enjoyed the tofu and mushroom stir fried dish and the vegetarian baos. The items are a bit pricey though. You're really paying for the ambience. Service: Service was as expected as a dim sum restaurant. We were served the food as they were ready. Some items took longer than others. It was close to closing by the time we finished so we could see the staff starting to clean up and eat their lunch. TL;DR - not a bad dim sum experience but a little pricey.

Diana C.

Yelp
Tldr: the best dim sum and Chinese food spot for vegetarian options in the Bay Area in our opinion. Now our go to for birthdays, showing out of town guests the best of Bay Area Chinese food, and just because! As vegetarians, finding tasty and varied dim sum is usually pretty challenging, so we're thankful to have discovered this spot. Koi Palace Contempo now has a dedicated and extensive vegetarian menu (pictured below) that makes it easy to order and has satisfied all our dim sum cravings (crispy fried donut wrapped in rice crepe, veggie bao, fried sesame balls) and then some (crispy pan fried noodles, egg tofu). The food itself really shines - delicious but not heavy, and always fresh. They also offer plenty of meat options. Tony, the manager, really impressed us with his friendliness, knowledge, and efficiency. He's super mindful of all the little details (vegetarian sauces, seasonings, etc) and accommodating (offering to make off menu specials for larger groups!). His passion for making sure customers have the best time and continuous innovation shines through in every interaction!

Yelp
I love checking out different dim sum restaurants, whether traditional or contemporary. Koi Palace Contempo is more of an eclectic dining experience with elevated presentations of your favorite fares. RESERVATION & ENTRANCE I made reservations for two on a Sunday at 2 PM through the Yelp app. Upon arrival, two separate buildings are Koi Palace Contempo+ and Koi Palace Contempo. The "plus" serves up Cantonese main dishes. There was some slight confusion for a second because we entered through the Contempo+ but were walked through the restaurant by an employee to the entrance of KP Contempo, where they serve dim sum. SERVICE One word: horrendous. The amount of time I had to wave a server down was exhausting, at the very least. I tried to make contact multiple times, and when I did get someone, they were swift to come and be done. The dining room wasn't at total capacity at all. There were ~4 main waiters taking orders, bringing the food out, and settling checks. NO ONE ever checked on us whatsoever. For the branding, decor, and concept of the restaurant, I was expecting service to be top-notch. That was a significant failure. After sitting there 10-12 minutes after we finished and trying to wave someone down again, I asked my SO to get up and settle our check. FOOD & DRINK * Chrysanthemum tea - This teapot was for two. It was watered down. Not enough tea leaves, I presume. It was bland and not aromatic. * Black Swan Taro - These were delicious--Crispy on the outside and the right amount of filling ratio to pastry dough. The filling consists of mushroom and pork, seasoned well. * Lobster Har Gow - I was excited to try this, but it fell short. The steamed dumpling filling was bland. Was there any lobster? I couldn't tell because it was mixed with another meat. * Salt and Pepper Squid - This dish was delicious. The batter was light and tasty. The squid was crispy. I enjoyed the small amount of Szechuan peppercorn and minced green onions. It helped balance the flavor. * Shanghai XLB - Delicious. The dumplings were steamed well, and none was broken. The broth was gingery and savory. This was served with a vinegar dipping sauce. * Mushroom Shiu Mai - This dish was okay. I've had better. It was as juicy as it could be. * Steam Pork Baos - Yummy. The filling was good, not too sweet. It has a good balance of savory and sweetness. Of the six items we ordered, we only enjoyed three. I had higher expectations of the food because the quality and taste were subpar. Unfortunately, the service was dreadful and has steered us from returning.

Yelp
I think this is my bf's and my fav dim sum place in the south bay area. I would def recommending planning and grabbing a reservation beforehand bc u will be stuck at the high seats next to the door where it's cold when it's busy. We ordered the pan seared XLB dumplings which i really enjoyed, i also really liked the Yuba Roll in Supreme broth, the lobster hargow was fine, the black swan in taro is interesting bc it had a crunchy exterior like an asian cookie with the taro interior which is soft and warm. The black swan in shrimp looked similar but with shrimp. I didnt get to try the waygu dumpling but i bet they r good!! Def recommend to check out :)

Yelp
Service: Straightforward ordering with your server, they have two paper menus you can mark items and the units with your pen. The Yelp waitlist is available for this location. Keep in mind the name has Plus :) Food Options: you can order the typical Koi Palace eats! Along with new items like lunch sets We ordered the - clam with garlic - Hainan chicken rice - Steak Sizzling plate (for the price the cuts of steak were cheaper, and sparse- one star off for this) Ambiance; the chairs and interior is all new & nice.

Yelp
This place is modern and has a nice aesthetic. There are plenty of seating and it's a good place for big groups. The service here is not that good and could be very slow. There was a lot of waiting and there were times when we would not get our order. I wished they provided everyone their own dipping sauce bowl instead of providing 1 sauce bowl for the entire table. The 5 flavor XLB was Allright. For the Peking duck, I wish they used baos instead of the rice paper wraps. I ordered many other items too but they tasted okay.

Yelp
If you are looking for a more traditional Cantonese/Chinese cuisine then this might be your spot. We ordered a fair number of different dishes and the flavors were delicious. Not salty like some Chinese Restaurants who use salt to cover up the lack of flavor in their dishes. Service is good but not great. Koi Palace is bright and clean inside. They have a pond like group table which looks fun but most seating is more contemporary. I would not recommend this place if your appetite for Chinese cuisine is more inline with an American style Chinese food (Orange Chicken, Broccoli in Oyster Sauce, etc.). But, once again it is a place if you want to enjoy a more traditional Chinese cuisine. Two things I didn't like was the waitress tried to up sell us after we gave her our order. Both in addition food dishes and alcohol drinks. The second was an addition "wellness charge of 4%" on the bill. When asked about this, she explained it was had something to do with Covid !? When the cost is a bit higher than normal, adding a 4% to the bill is a negative to me.

Yelp
Please just drive a little extra and go to Koi Palace in Milpitas... you will get way more food for the same price. We know Koi Palace is pricey but then you take the same prices and provide less food than the Milpitas location? What? At least the location in Milpitas does its best to attend to you even when busy. We tried to wave people down the whole time and the table and seats were dirty for a reservation at 10:30 am. It wasn't even busy and the whole dining experience was messy. I had high expectations for this new location as my family loves Koi Palace, but, I'd much rather go to the Milpitas location. Very disappointed :'(

Yelp
+++ FOOD +++ The Best Char Siu Rice ($18.88) - This was okay. It came with two cold side dishes and soup. But it definitely was NOT the best. Hainan Chicken Rice ($18.88) - My friend said it was borderline inedible. The rice was HARD. I liked that its boneless though. +++ AMBIANCE +++ Its pretty with high ceilings. But, the space has a really weird shape. +++ SERVICE +++ Our party was placed in a corner that was in the server's blindspot, which would be fine if it was busy. BUT THERE WERE A TON OF OTHER SEATS. It was a weekend. The restaurant was mostly empty! We would wave our hand and no one would see us. We pretty much got up all the time to grab napkins and bags and things. Also, our table was small, so when our combos came all of our side dishes were combined together into one small dish!!! WHAT. The side dishes should have come individually. I think they decreased the amount we should have had if the sides were given individually. We each should have gotten a small teapot with soup and instead they gave us only 2, we were a party of 8. I understand why they did it, but they could have given us a little bit more. Also they got my friend's order wrong, she was missing some of her combo toppings. +++ OVERALL +++ REALLY DISAPPOINTING, don't go here. Overpriced, not good food. Mediocre service.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with family! Food is pretty good but overall the taste and price just aren't outstanding or anything. Nice spot if you want to get some bougier chinese food, but I don't know if I'd go out of my way to come again. I think Koi Palace Contempo has a lot to live up to in its name being associated with Koi Palace and compared to some other fancier spots (ex. Palette Tea House), so I want to cut them some slack for that too. Service was standard, plenty of parking in the garage structure and around the Main St property.

Yelp
The restaurant itself was very clean and modern. Great ambiance and lovely tile work throughout. Bathrooms looked modern but smelled bad. Staff was courteous but also surly at the same time. It's a typical Chinese restaurant experience, which is surprising as the restaurant seem much more elevated than your typical dim sum cha lau. They upgraded everything but the service. These guys could smile a little and be more friendly. Guess no one told them to fake it till ya make it. On the food, the best thing was their roast duck. It was amazing! Tender, flavorful and we all agreed one of the best roast duck we've ever had. The seafood dim sum dishes were a little fishy. The pork dumpling in hot oil was also very good with the numbing pepper finish. Some of the dishes were pretty standard and some were not very memorable. Pricey for a dim sum place definitely. I've had dim sum from the Koi Palace in Dublin and Milpitas and I thought those were somehow better. The center where this is located is quite a lovely center with tons of options, and this was one of the less occupied restaurants, which in hindsight now makes sense. It was a good experience that could have been great.

Yelp
3.5 stars based on our dinner experience. Nice environment and ambiance, good service, clean tasting food. They serve a good variety of dim sum choices at dinner time which was appreciated. We went right after they open at 5:30 PM for an early dinner, we were the only party there; the place did get filled up rather quickly after 6:30 and with mostly the 20-30ish younger crowd. Wanting to try different dishes, we ordered 9 items for a small party, enjoyed some more than the others. - Roast duck is one of the best; crispy skin and moist, tender meat. - Crab special promotion for $40 (regular 60), although tasted fresh was over cooked ...a little dry and hard to get the meat out of the shell. - House special fried rice (with shrimps, charsiu, beef etc) was good. - String bean and egg plant; tender vegetables, not too greasy (although deep dried) and tasted clean Out of the five dim sum items, we liked the crispy tofu, coffee ribs, onion sesame bread, not too impressed with the Taro swans and tofu skin wrap. Our total bill before a 18% tip was $192 . We did have quite a bit of left over to take home. It was a very pleasant meal, we didn't feel heavy after eating. Although some of the items were pricier than average after considering the location, environment and total experience we would come back.

Yelp
Good dim sum, not a great atmosphere. Located in a strip mall in Cupertino, Koi palace offers a good selection of dim sum plates for a decent price. Seating is a bit like old school chinese dim sum, that is to say its a little loud and bright. We had problems having conversations. Foodwise it was pretty good. We had a selection of dim sum items as well as the peking duck. The pork bao had a good taste and were light. The peking duck had a cripsy skin and tender meat. The soup dumplings weren't my favorite, but they were still okay. Overall, the food was solid. If you're craving dim sum its a good option in Cupertino.

Yelp
I love Koi Palace in Daly City and Milpitas. Especially for dim sum. So I was excited to try this modern version in Cupertino. Food is excellent, and the fusion elements are palatable. Unfortunately they were out of the Iberico cha siu. I'm knocking 2 stars off because even though I expect high prices, $80pp for dinner is excessive. OK for a fancy business dinner or even a date, but as a family birthday celebration we would have been better off going to a real Koi Palace. Thankfully they had a crab promotion from $70 to $40. I'd say worth checking out once in your life, but not a regular hangout. Service was excellent. $20 corkage for a bottle of champagne we brought. 18% gratuity was included in the bill.

Yelp
Koi Palace Contempo has such a lovely ambiance! It's not your typical dim sum restaurant with waiters and carts walking around, as you simply order from a menu instead. There's less options compared to their main restaurants, and there's an added cost to all of the items by at least $2-5. Most teas are $2/person. Luckily, quality is still the same and delicious! This spot is definitely a visit for certain occasions. Presentation of everything is beautiful! Service was reasonable but nothing special for the added experience. I do wish each table had soy sauce and chili oil like standard restaurants do, but you have to flag someone down for it. XO RICE ROLLS: 4.5/5 (~$15) One of my favorite Koi dishes! This was on a receipt attached to the lunch menu. They have this at their main restaurant too. Super savory and perfectly charred and chewy. HAR GOW: 4.5/5 ($8) Personal favorite here as I love the way their dumpling wrapper and shrimp taste. Some places make theirs too doughy and thick, but it's just right here. SIU MAI: 4/5 ($8) Delicious as always! Koi Palace has juicy siu mai generously filled with pork and shrimp. Nothing particularly crazy but a staple. CRISPY DAIKON CAKE: 3.5/5 ($10) I love daikon cake, but I felt the layer of crisp was a bit much. You can't taste the daikon cake as well because of that. But, if you get lucky with a thicker cut daikon cake, it is tasty. I prefer this without the crispy layer. CRISPY DURIAN PUFFS: 3/5 ($15) The presentation on this dessert item was to die for. The puff had a nice, light fluff to it and the durian pulp is real! It isn't very sweet as you'd expect for a dessert dish. PRESERVED OLIVE AND SEAFOOD RICE ROLLS: 3/5 ($14) Not your traditional shrimp rice rolls. This was filled with squid and shrimp and preserved olives (which I didn't really taste). The sauce is saltier than the typical sweet soy sauce served with this dish. The rice roll itself was delicate and tasty, and the filling was interesting.

Yelp
This is the second time! I love their new lobster noodles--affordable and delicious. My family loves them, too! Peking duck is delicious! We also like the beef nuggets very much! Although it was a very busy Tuesday, their service was excellent! By the way, their restaurant atmosphere is amazing! It's bright inside!
