The best sushi I had ever eaten! There are a lot of different type of sushi, they are very fast, all the food is super good, it is fresh, the appetizers are soooo good. The relationship between price and quality is 10/10! I realy recommend for go with a big group of friends like 6-8 person!

I was not disappointed I decided to come here all the way from the suburbs. The rice in the sushi is just enough-not like other sushi restaurants that’s rippping you off by putting a lot of rice. All in all the food is 5 stars to me. It was busy when we were there that there was delay in serving. I highly recommend this place.

This is my second time being here, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The crispy roll that I think had salmon on the top was chef's kiss 😙🤌🏾🫴🏾💋. I didn't do the all you can eat because I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it all because I ordered 3 rolls and couldn't even finish half.

Sushi 7.5/10 Appetizers 10/10 Service 10/10 Decor 10/10 we got all you can eat sushi and sushi was average tasting but still good. i recommend the jalapeno bomb appetizer. service was great, always checking in on us. the place was nicely decorated but booths were very tight and small. overall a good experience, sushi came out with very cool presentation.

Sushi is always amazing here! Great for AYCE! I love coming back to Koi every once in awhile. Sushi is fresh. The tuna has a nice deep red color to eat so I know they don't purchase the pinky colored tuna that is older. Lots of great drinks to choose from. Only thing I didn't enjoy was the miso soup. It was bland and kind of fishy??? It was strange. Otherwise there are great appetizers here to enjoy. Service is always great here. Workers are very kind and hard working to make sure you have a good experience.

Obviously we go to all you can eat sushi to eat an unreasonable amount of sushi for a decent price. Koi is no exception. Where I think Koi stands out is their nigiri. Koi's nigiri is the freshest I've found at an all you can eat restaurant and why I've returned so many times. It also helps that the sushi rolls are fabulous too. Roll favorites include MVP, Amazing Tuna, and New Moon. As for nigiri, I haven't found one I don't like. Definitely get a lychee martini if you're in the mood to drink! All you can eat for a great price. Had 11 different orders of sushi (between sashimi nigiri and regular/ signature rolls). Did not get drinks but had some killer deals on booze as well. Must finish all your food but have large options of apps as well. Service was fast, fish was high quality for the price. Definitely a great casual place to go. Highly recommend you go hungry.

All you can eat sushi fare with extravagant presentation and fare. You pick what you want to order off a paper menu, and they bring you everything on a huge plate. Order appetizer first so the wait is more bearable the Japanese chicken nuggets were interesting (they certainly were not of karage quality) but the crab rangoons were decent. Sushi was also good for being an all you can eat place! They do minimize how much sashimi you can get by restricting it to 3 per 1 roll you order

Service was wonderful, very attentive and kind staff. Presentation was lovely and and truly enjoyable atmosphere for a neighborhood joint, however, the sushi was not as flavorful as I would have liked. Rolls were loosely designed, they would fall apart when you picked up your roll. Nigiri was good but not what I was hoping. Price was fine for the value of all you can eat, just not the greatest sushi.

Koi Sushi is a really good spot for all you can eat sushi! During the weekdays, lunch is only $23 per person. On the weekends and for dinner in general, it is $32 per person. I really liked that they did not require the whole table to do all you can eat because if you're only eating one roll, it's not really worth it. Plus, you can't take home leftovers for all you can eat and you get charged if you over-order and don't finish. So make sure you're hungry! There are a lot of tables and we were able to get a nice booth spot without a reservation on a weekend. I loved the range of appetizers they had! There were a lot of veggie options, like the jalenpeno bombs, veggie spring rolls, and veggie gyoza. I tried the koi pizza and it was so good! It was huge - I could've had it as my meal. I wasn't expecting it at all! They have a ton of rolls to choose from, including a list of veggie rolls; however, I wish they had one or two signature rolls that were all veggie. The regular veggie rolls with just one or two veggies can be kind of boring. I ended up going for the spicy killer! I will definitely be coming back to try out more of their apps during the all you can eat lunch!

The restaurant is located near Lincoln Park with limited street parking. We can here for their lunch buffet on a weekend ($31.99 per person). The service was quick and attentive. We ordered a bunch of items we typically get at other sushi buffet restaurants for comparison including baby octopus salad, sashimi salad, skewers, seaweed salad and nigiri. Their dishes are definitely on the heavier and saucier side which made it impossible to taste the freshnes of the ingredients... They also have the rule of ordering a sushi roll for each sashi item with maximum of 3 pieces per order - definitely the first time I've seen such rule... The only item we enjoyed is fried scallops.

Currently on the hunt for the best AYCE sushi in Chicago and decided to check out this place - tldr: not the best but I've also had worse. Maybe come for lunch instead of dinner! My group of 3 and I came around 5pm on a Sunday - it wasn't too busy. There's plenty of street parking - I think the spots along Koi Sushi on Southport Ave might be free, but we did paid parking along Clybourn. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was bigger than I expected! They also have a bar with what seems like an extensive drink menu. Their AYCE menu was a lot smaller than I expected. The apps selection was ok! We got edamame, fried calamari, soft shell crab, crab rangoon and the baked mussels. They were all average - I think other spots I've been to seem to have more app selection and were more enjoyable. Sushi-wise, their sushi rolls seem good and the rice balance was good for the rolls. The nigiri selection was expansive but was a little rice-heavy - the fish was good! The sushi is presented so well and they like to use a lot of dry ice for it all! The one thing I will mention for this place is their sashimi. It is fairly large but you get 3 pieces per 1 roll that is ordered. I don't eat a lot of sushi rolls so not sure how big of a win this is.

Koi is hands down the best all you can eat sushi restaurant in Chicago. For drinks the lychee martini is a must for appetizers. The koni salad is my go to but ive tried many have not been disappointed. My favorite roll is the MVP roll and then I typically order a bunch of nigiri. If you are going on the weekend know that there will be a wait to be seated because they are always packed. They have made a another room since Ive started going so the wait is now shorter. Every meal comes out with a little dry ice vase which is a nice touch. Be sure to tell them you're celebrating a birthday and you will be in for a treat!

This was a great choice for sushi! The service was top notch. They would check up on us in a non annoying way and I never had ask to get our drinks refilled when low. The food itself was yummy and filling. The mango tea was so good, The space was cute and had a very calming vibe. Perfect place for a date. It's all you can eat but my little suggestion is to not go crazy when ordering. You pay extra for anything you don't finish. Thank you again to the ladies to who helped us. We will be back.

Amazing value for weekday lunches! All you care to eat for $23! Visiting Koi sushi was a delightful experience. I went with a party of 3 for a special out of town sushi date...we ordered 1 of each of several different appetizers with our waitress who was very short (attitude) and not very helpful in regards to the menu. The table of 2 behind us who arrived maybe 10 minutes after we placed our order was served both drinks and appetizers prior to us receiving ours. No big deal right? Until everything we ordered came out cold! Extremely cold! At this point I called over the manager (a younger girl who originally stated "no manager was on duty tonight" but that she could take the complaint (very rudely) listened and first said (out of the several different appetizers on the table) that's cucumber salad! It's supposed to be cold! (Because from the looks of me she assumed I hadn't been eating sushi for over 30 years) offered to remake everything (which I declined sushi was on the way out) once we received the sushi which was worse than some grocery store sushi I have had. I try a piece or two and notice my 3rd of piece has something that looks like hair (maybe something that had come off someone's apron) very fine hairlike) I inform the waitress who says she need to take to the manager (remember no manager on duty tonight" but ok she comes back and informs me that this hairlike substance (which is black in color) is actually crab meat because it shreds. At that point I was done and demanded the bill so I could pay and leave!

A great sushi spot if you're in the Lincoln park area. You get a great portion of food! Also a must try is their crispy Kani salad I have to have it every time I come here! They recently upgraded their location and it's even bigger now, it's also great for large groups.

Went back here for an AYCE Sushi lunch because we had such a good experience the first time! I was visiting my brother and he wanted to come back here, so thats exactly what we did! We always have awesome service here, and we asked them if we ordered enough sushi that they could bring it out in a boat and they happily did! It was such a nice lunch with awesome people! It was packed during lunch, so it looks like a bunch of people stop in during the work week for a delicious meal!

THIS IS A MUST EATARY FOR BOTH CHICAGOIANS AND OUT OF TOWNERS. $23 AYCE SUSHI AND APPETIZERS.. FOR 3 HRS?!?! You simply can NOT and will NOT find that any where else!! The service is beyond amazing and their staff are really friendly & accommodating and their sushi is FRESH BEYOND MEASURES!! Oh, and their cocktails are soooo delicious!! I got the Mai Thai punch bowl. I can't remember exactly what I ordered as I'm writing this review (listed in receipt) but nevertheless everything was superb!! I'M TELLING EVERYONE WHO COMES ACROSS CHICAGO TO STOP HERE!!

First time trying this all-you-can-eat sushi spot. The place is smaller than I expected, though it can still fit a decent amount of people. The sushi comes out quickly, I love the promptness and how organized and aesthetically pleasing the food is presented to us. My favorites are the salmon roe nigiris; the rice to roe ratio is amazing, got me ordering them over and over again. The rice felt a bit dense, and it was easy to get full. Overall, it was definitely still an economical option.

A pleasant surprise! I used to only go to Sushi Taku for AYCE, but I'm glad I found Koi! I took my friend here for her birthday on a Thursday night. We got right in, no wait, and there were drink specials ($7 on select cocktails). Obviously, on my first time here, I got a little excited and over-ordered. I had a lot of leftovers and was charged a left-over fee. I see this coming up a lot from other reviews and I think the business can make an easy fix- just limit each person to 2 or 3 rolls per order, and then they can order more after they finish. This way, there's no assumed mal-intent for attempting to over-consume. OR make the rolls smaller/ half portions. The menu is extensive and there are dozens of signature and regular rolls. Some felt a little similar/repetitive. Based on my first time here, my favorites included: Mexican, Green Turtle, and Pink Lady. I still want to try New Moon, Cherry Blossom, and Sweet 16. Overall, I liked my appetizers and rolls. I was so full that I didn't even get to order dessert. I will be back! There's still so much more of the menu for me to explore :)

Tempura and takoyaki tasted and looked off. Sushi was okay and on par with Sushi Taku, but we came further out for the visuals. We asked server for a sushi boat and she initially said yes, but didn't give one to us. When asked, the manager said we had to order more, and was quite rude about it -- he immediately brushed us off. The minimum sushi roll requirement for a boat was never made clear to us by our server, and they were not even on the same page about how much sushi we needed to order for the boat. Restaurant also didn't seem very clean, and unprofessional as the owner's kid was running around. I think on the way out too, a guy (presumably the owner) threw the checkbook at a server (possibly his wife), which she picked up. This was done in the open and in front of us and other patrons. All just very odd...? Update: Not sure why the business owner is denying the issues. Maybe the dude wasn't the owner but he definitely was a worker and there was definitely a kid running around.

Sign me right up for some delicious sushi. Koi Sushi knocks it out of Wrigley Field with their offerings. They had wonderful starters like fried calamari, fried gyoza, crab rangoons, scallops, and shrimp tampura. All recommended. Yes, all were tried. Yes, I went with the AYCE sushi option. No regrets. Someone say sashimi? Oh yeah, 100%. Tuna, salmon, and yellow tail --all outstanding and great quality. Their signature Paradise, Rainbow, Goldeneye, and Dragon rolls did not disappoint. My favorite was the classic rainbow roll with the salmon and avocado combo. An absolute solid place with good service and ambience. They even bring out the plates with a tiny but cool dry ice presentation. Memorable and tasty.

Koi sushi is my go to for all you can eat sushi. Their fish is always fresh and there are various choices in their appetizers, sushi rolls and sashimi/nigiri pieces. One of my favorite things is that you can order three pieces of sashimi per sushi roll/hand roll. I eat here monthly. I've decided to rate them four stars because within the past two months, the service has been very slow. Where we've waited an average of 30-45 minutes for our first food items. I'm hopeful they can improve on the waiting time. Since koi has a bigger side room, the actual waiting time to get a table has never been more than 20 minutes - in my experience.

Probably the best all you can eat sushi for that price range. This is the only AYCE that I know that offers sashimi on the menu! Will come back with the homies

I love sushi. This place is not good. The sushi was mushy. I was afraid that I would get food poisoning so I stopped eating. The spicy scallop hand roll was so bad that I couldn't eat it. The scallops were not fresh, soft scallops. I always judge a place on their scallops. I will not be back. Stick to the cooked foods if you do want to go to this place. Or better yet, find someplace else.

I had been hearing about Koi Sushi and the AYCE menu forever! Finally got a chance to try it for lunch. There's a $10 price difference between lunch and dinner and you don't get all the options for lunch as the dinner menu. Certain rolls you'll find are not available and appetizers/dessert. All the rolls we had were tasty! However, it's a strong shrimp tempura presence. I love me some shrimp tempura rolls, but a little more variety would be great. The nigiri is a great deal. Lots of selections and no limit. The staff were all super friendly and attentive. Overall, a really good spot for a good price when you're feeling really hungry!

I did not know majority of the patrons who comes here orders the "All you can eat" ($23 Lunch, $33 Dinner) as I observed when I was here Sunday night. I was not very hungry or I would have also jumped on the band wagon. I would suggest you coming here before 6pm as this place fills up very fast towards dinner times. Ordered a 16 pc, sashimi deluxe (large slices) and 2 rolls. Service was decent and I would come here again as the food is fresh. There are some free spots if you are lucky to grab them but majority are metered spots.

Came here last night with my boyfriend for a late evening dinner and it was busy! They luckily had a table for us right away. When we got seated, they have added the menus on the glass table so you can look at the sushi items and appetizers. It was a sideways on our table so it was kind of hard to read everything. We ordered nigiri, sashimi, and sushi rolls. I loved the MVP roll, highly recommend! The service was pretty quick overall and we only had to flag our server down once for more water. Paid a little over $80 as dinner prices are $32 per person. Great sushi spot overall!

We went for the all you can eat. The sushi here is absolutely delicious. We got a variety of rolls and all of them were great. The appetizers on the other hand, did not shine so bright. The gyoza and the rangoons were good but the octopus salad, calamari, and miso soup were not the best. The service was quick and the restaurant was nice and quiet. The all you can eat is definitely worth it as long as you stick to sushi.

[review based on delivery via door dash] Ordered the Godzilla Roll, Monster Roll, and Bird Nest Roll. Honestly was surprised by how much food we got for the price ($33 + tip/tax& other fees). Each roll is $14-$15 alone so it was a steal. Although the quality wasn't as great as other high end sushi places, it was still tasty. The rice to other ingredients ratio was a little too much in my opinion but they didn't really skimp out on the seafood either. My favorite of the three was definitely the Monster Roll. Overall, Koi definitely fulfilled my sushi cravings but not something I would order all the time since it's pretty heavy. Note - I've eaten in restaurant for AYCE several times and always had a good experience. And the delivery was no exception!

my fav ayce sushi spot in chicago so far! this spot satisfied the cravings me and my friends had soooo good! we loved the fact that they had the option for sashimi in ayce ofc you still need to order maki rolls with it, but the roll pieces are so small. which is so good bc we got to try more options and its honestly the smallest size we've ever seen at an ayce place for specialty rolls. the nigiri was v good and fresh tasting, the rice to fish ratio was nice considering it go be ayce. we enjoyed the ones we got v much. i especially liked the salmon roe, salmon, scallop, and hamachi we loved the spicy tuna jalapeno poppers, they were v unique! the oysters were good, but on the burnt end. the hamachi kama and soft shell crab was cooked v well and juicy! would get the sangrias again! we celebrated my boyfriend's birthday and they made the dessert look so cute!

AYCE sushi was great! The AYCE deal is well worth it - plenty of different sushi rolls to choose from and a good variety of appetizers included as well. Service was good, they have an efficient process for ordering. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a sushi spot to enjoy with friends.

Did the all you can eat lunch option and loved it! The price can't be beat for the quality and variety. Our second order took longer than expected for some reason but the waitress was extremely apologetic and even gave us a free glass of sake to compensate, which was an extremely nice and thoughtful gesture. The restaurant is large and can fit many parties. It was clean and comfortable. Will be back soon!

We visit here on 8/26/23 around 1pm. It wasn't super busy. The restaurant has several empty liquor bottles around the windows; this is their idea of decor. TLDR: nigiri is 10% fish and 90% rice. Their appetizers were good besides shrimp tempura and calamari (batter too thick). We won't be back. Weekend price for dinner AYCE sushi is $31.99. We ordered several appetizers (steamed and fried shumai, seaweed salad, sashimi salad, shrimp tempura, fried calamari, Japanese chicken nuggs, crab rangoons, miso soup) and were happy with most of them. We felt the batter for the fried calamari and shrimp tempura was too thick. Then we ordered nigiri (salmon, tuna, scallop, eel, yellowtail, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, spicy kani) and were impressed with the presentation once it was delivered to our table. HOWEVER, things took a turn when we took our first bite. We realized the fish to rice ratio was 10% fish and 90% rice. We were struggling to finish our nigiri because they seemed strict about charging $1/rice block being left behind. See my photos for the pathetic, thin cut of fish on top of the rice. I wish we had space to try the specialty rolls but we were worried about the amount of rice they'll give us. My husband's comment, "They must pack their rice with Elmer's glue. Shizz is tight, bro!" And he's right; it was nearly impossible to break up the nigiri rice. We won't be back here.

Came here for all you can eat sushi, and was not disappointed. Filled to the brim with excellent sushi! ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 8/10 Nice modern look that was well lit and overall made for a pleasant dining experience. SERVICE: 8/10 Pretty good service. FOOD: 8/10 Deep Fried Soft Shell Crab - 5/10 - Disappointing. This was way too much breading and not enough crab. It was really oily and not great. I'd skip this one. Various Types of Sushi - 9/10 - I had a huge variety of items from the menu so will rate overall as a group. The sushi quality is great from the most basic spicy salmon rolls to the shrimp tempura and mango rolls. The sushi was delicious and came out with great fanfare on a giant boat. Just the way I like it. VALUE: 9/10 I thought the price for AYCE combined with the selection was excellent. PROBABILITY OF RETURN: 8/10 TO EAT OR NOT TO EAT: Eat! For you all you can eat sushi lovers, this is a great spot. OVERALL: 8/10

I definitely recommend trying this place if you want AYCE. The rolls are huge and very filling. I preferred the basic rolls over the signature ones. The Koi roll I ordered was subpar. But the appetizers were delicious! The nigiri comes with more rice than I'm use to. The fish was fresh and nothing tasted outdated. They also give thick cuts with the nigiri. They bring out the appetizers before the actual sushi- in vegas they don't do this so if you're going to order, do the actual sushi first then the appetizers. The actual service was great they checked on our table a couple times made sure we had refills and brought out everything we asked for.

This restaurant was the perfect sushi spot for our bachelorette party this past weekend! For members of our party, we had a mix of weird allergies and folks who were both experienced and had never tried sushi. The staff handled us promptly and got us seated, explained things clearly, and was very friendly. We enjoyed miso soup, sweet potato roll, California rolls, shrimp tempura roll, Ramune drinks, gyoza, and more. We couldn't get enough! The atmosphere of this restaurant was delightful, warm and decorative while still feeling spacious. I would absolutely recommend this sushi restaurant to anyone looking for good, fresh fish as our bride to be ate a lot of nigiri/sashimi! Everything was fresh, the right temperature, and accurate. This was probably our favorite food place after eating in Chicago all weekend! Will definitely be back should I find myself in Chicago again.

Thank you so much for the amazing service and accommodations for my brother's bday. This is the second time my hubby and I came to this place. This time with my little brother. Service was amazing like super amazing. The waitress we had was very nice. She even brought my brother an ice cream with a candle and played happy birthday in the background for him. Thank you so much. Unfortunately the food was the let down. I got a few pieces of octopus that were old and tasted funky. Some of the sashimi was rubbery and old. I was so sad to see how horrible the quality of the food got. Our first time was amazing, but this time it was a huge nope. The ambience is very family oriented and a bit loud, but that's all restaurants. The place is clean and well taken cared of. Please have fresher sushi, especially if it's raw. I just hope I don't get sick.

The all you can eat deal here is amazing! There so many variety and appetizers options that it will sure fill your belly. The service was great and such great music choice. Loved their drinks and dessert.

AYCE hidden gem alert!! The basics: - Great quality and great prices as well. - Dinner AYCE is around $28 per person. - Tons of happy hour deals on weekdays - They offer sashimi, which most of the AYCE places don't do. My friend and I started off with some Takoyaki, seaweed and sashimi salad, and followed up with a great variety of rolls. Everything came out super fast and tasting good Also, kudos to their decoration too! They also offer desserts and many weekly deals. Cool place to check up if you are around.

This place gets very busy in the evening. Their AYCE option is a great deal with the wide variety of rolls and items to chose from. They plate the food with fancy steaming vases and other decorative items around your sushi to make the experience more fun. It's a place you must come try when in the area!
