"This relaxed, all-day Maple Leaf diner is one sandy flip-flop away from being on a Hawaiian roadside. It’s an island memorabilia-covered place where you can slump into a bouncy booth and sip a $10 mai tai stiffer than a dress shirt. Among the classic Hawaiian stuff, there’s a dependable spam musubi and comforting gravy-drenched loco moco to customize with variables like fried rice vs. white rice or hamburger vs. portuguese sausage. But we’re even bigger fans of Kona Kitchen’s kalua pig and cabbage—it’s smoky, tender, and really good stuffed into a quesadilla, too. Keep it in mind if you’re in the market for a simple, satisfying group meal while fantasizing about the next trip to Oahu." - Aimee Rizzo

"The Lynnwood outpost of Seattle’s Hawaiian mainstay serves all-day comfort food breakfast dishes, currently for takeout. It’s continuing service a few weeks after mourning the loss of owner Liz Mar and her husband Robert, who both died from COVID-19 last month. Mar’s legacy of warmth lives on, as longtime customers have rallied around the restaurant in support." - Eater Staff

This is where you should go for some amazing kalu pork! Tender delicious pork that's slightly smokey with just the right amount of salt. The cabbage is cooked but not too soft. Plenty of rice and a pretty decent Mac salad. Friendly staff are quick to take your order and answer questions.

Kona Kitchen is a hidden gem in Lynnwood of Hawaiian cuisine. From the delectable dishes to the friendly service and inviting atmosphere, it's a restaurant that truly captures the spirit of Hawaii. Whether you're craving a taste of the islands or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Kona Kitchen is the place to be.

We dined at Kona Kitchen in Lynwood, Washington, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a casual meal with family or friends. The Hawaiian-themed decor added a fun and relaxed vibe to our evening. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome. The main course, was generously portioned and beautifully presented. The katsu curry was tender and juicy, with a perfect balance of sweet and savory notes from the teriyaki sauce. My dining companion chose the Kalua Pork, which was equally impressive – tender, smoky, and full of rich flavors. The portions were large and offered great value for the price. We left feeling more than satisfied and with plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. The overall experience was exceptional, and I highly recommend Kona Kitchen to anyone looking for a delicious and hearty meal in a welcoming setting.

Google
Love Kona Kitchen. Have been to this location many times both for eat in and for curbside pickup. Last week we took friends for their first visit. Staff was friendly and just the right amount of attentive for our small group. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Very generous portions. I even added a to-go spam musubi and scoop of mac salad at the last minute to take home with our extras. Can't wait to visit again.

Been eyeing on this restaurant for a while. Finally got a chance to go. We were not disappointed. Brunch was made to order nicely. Although we expected the Kona coffee had more of the “Kona taste”.

Google
I've seen Kona recommended a bunch online, so I had to check it out when I had a car for the day. I got the Loco Moco in the classic style and a side of Mac salad. While the Loco Moco wasn't bad, I don't know if I'd want to come back again for it? The flavor was not my favorite personally. It even tastes a little burnt, but I'm not sure. Mac salad was delicious though. Servers were kind and quick to help. Portions were big which I appreciated. Not sure if I'd come again. I don't eat pork so that limits my options more than others.

Google
I have had Loco Moco on my bucket list to try for years! Being from Florida/Tennessee there aren’t any Hawaiian restaurants I have found. We are staying in Lynwood to work at Sakuracon and when we saw this place and the reviews I had to try it! I am so exited I got to try the Loco Moco, their food is absolutely scrumptious! So good in fact, that we are going to eat there again tonight for dinner. I’m meeting friends there who are local but haven’t tried them yet so I’m excited to introduce them to this amazing food! I got the Loco Moco with fried rice and kalua pig, my friend got the Kalua pig and cabbage and my husband Da Kanak Attack. We all tried a little bite of each others, everything was delicious and I’m so excited to meet our local friends here tonight :D

Yelp
Everyone was super welcoming and accommodating to our fairly large party! Food was delicious and came out super quickly! I got the classic eggs benedict and tried the lychee cocktail. Also got pancakes and eggs for breakfast here! Super delicious and very cozy.

Yelp
As born and raised Oahu resident that moved to Washington, I have been searching for local style food in the area. My coworker recommended Kona Kitchen and I finally stopped by for dine in. The experience and service was very authentic, kind of reminds me of zippys dine in. The food was very good. My wife got kalua pork, rice and mac. Kalua pork needed more cabbage but it wasnt dry so that was good. I got the loco moco and I think the patty was the star. It had the grill taste and tenderness of a fresh patty. My big minus was the fried rice and gravy was a bit salty for me which is why I had to dock a star. Also only 1 patty for the price, I wish there was 2 (rice to meat ratio is off) I love the ambience, service and food. I really wish there was a bit more meat with the meals (lnl regular in hawaii has 2 patties for loco moco) But it is very good for Washington, but almost there to be competing with local food in Hawaii.

Frances L.

Yelp
Great Hawaiian food. I've been to Kona several times and can attest that the food is authentic. It can be a bit of a wait since they are so great, but it's worth it. We loved everything we ordered. Sampled breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Would definitely stop in again.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Excellent service and any place I walk into that has reggae in a chill vibe and is playing Stick Figure sign me up. I had the Cali Benny and have to say it was spot on. I also ordered some stew for take home for dinner and it was also amazing. Great breakfast love atmosphere!

Carolyn L.

Yelp
I ordered the beef stew and it was literally one of the best I had in a long while. The meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. It was not fibrous at all. The only drawback was it was a tad too salty for me. The rice definitely went well with it. I guess mac salad was a common thing in Hawaiian cuisine as it also came with that. I didn't love it, it was ok. Service was good and they would come round to check on you and the food. I wish I had more days here so I could try other dishes on the menu. Parking is available at the lot out front.

Mike S.

Yelp
Here it comes little miss lady manager. Visited craving biscuits and gravy, was served after a while, biscuits and gravy very sub par, all out of a can and or a bag, no flavor, no love, really pissed me off. I did my best to inform management, called, talked with the manager, I was hung up Apon. I had invited her on a trip up to the Stilly Diner, B&G for us both on me, silly girl hung up on me, her loss, I'm great company, and will treat you to some great food, just not at the kona kitchen. Piss off you turd!

Audra D.

Yelp
Immediately greeted. Didn't know what to expect. The spam masubi hit the spot. Ordered 2 of them. My friend ordered a burger, said it was basic but good. The edamame appetizer was a bit small. Chantilly cake, wasn't what I expected (I guess in Hawaii it is a basic chocolate cake with icing) like I've had in Louisiana and other areas. It was dry and not really worth ordering. The atmosphere was good and the establishment was clean. I'd stop in again just for the spam masubi.

J K.

Yelp
Not as homey as the original but it's great! Same great menu, same great food, same great service.

Yelp
Small saimin with a side of sautéed mushrooms was all I needed to curve my appetite. Husband also had the small saimin. We just needed a small something for a late dinner. We can always count on Kona Kitchen to give us what we need to satisfy our cravings. Tonight, because it was late we really didn't want to eat heavy. Saimin is perfect for times like this. I did inquire about their guava cake which they were out of. Just as well. Didn't need the added sugar! Service is always great. We always come back!

Yelp
Satisfied the week long craving for Kanak Attack and Mochiko Chicken! Love that it's the same every time we come in, even if it's almost a year in between visits. Portions seemed to have gotten smaller than before bit it's still a good amount of food- less waste and full bellies! Service is always consistent, not at true 'feel like you're at your Aunty's hale aloha' levels (from a Kauai girl who knows), but standard for Seattle. I'd probably skip the champs or mimosas, unless Cook's is your jam. The Bloody Mary and Mai Tais are good. Space is always clean, they still have table markers indicating sanitation which is nice. Bathrooms were picked up and stocked. Food is onolicious, they have Hawaiian Sun, and a full bar - what more do you need besides a sandy beach and cool Tradewinds?

Sheart F.

Yelp
I have dined in and done taken-out for dinner dishes only. Overall it is a great little place for anyone to try Hawaiian food. The cakes (sold by decent sized slices) were surprisingly good, but the supply can be inconsistent. :(

Angelia V.

Yelp
Food is okay here. Breakfast pretty good depending on what you get. Most of the stuff is just okay. Staff is always friendly. Service can be a bit slow though especially if it gets even the slightest bit busy. They always seem like they don't have enough staff every time I've been here. There's plenty of seating inside and every time I've come here there's always a table available even if it starts to get busy. Overall it's alright here. This place definitely isn't my first choice especially for Hawaiian food but I also wouldn't mind if this is a place someone chose to meet for a meal.

Teri N.

Yelp
Came here cause I thought ... you can't go wrong with local kind food ... boy was I mistaken! We ordered Mochiko chicken and brah .... It was way overcooked and dry as heck! This is a local favorite and I was extremely upset that they messed it up! Would I come back? Nah!!!! I will pass for sure! I'm not trying to be mean or anything but how do you screw up a simple meal? I feel as if I am being generous with my 2 star rating.

Yelp
How I heard of this place: Years ago, a friend said it was her favorite Hawaiian restaurant in the area. It's been on my mind since. We finally made it happen. Type of cuisine: "Kona Kitchen is a casual family dining experience where you'll find a tempting array of Hawaiian and Japanese dishes prepared with the care of a home-cooked meal.Owned and operated by film actor Yuji Okumoto, Kona Kitchen is a quiet, relaxing spot to catch your breath amid the bustling lifestyle Seattle natives are used to." Ambiance: A large, stand-alone building off of a busy street brings the warmth and welcome of the Pacific Islands to the north end. Inside, the space is wide and clean, with booth seating, chairs & tables, as well as barquette seating available to patrons. The sit-down establishment offers vibrant patterns, tapestries and setting to grey Seattle (area) days. Service is friendly and completely shares the Aloha spirit. What I ordered: Being my first visit, I was most excited to sample a Kona Kitchen version of the Loco Moco: I selected fried rice ($13.29) with katsu chicken ($6.50). My husband chose Da Kanak Attack ($17.29) - a combination of mochiko chicken, teri beef, spam and Portugese sausage served with white rice, mac salad and two spring rolls. For our little one, the BLT with fries. What I loved: Each of our dishes was plentiful, abundant and full of flavor. We devoured our meals, leaving nothing behind. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, the Loco Moco bursting with texture, flavor, and perfectly prepared fried egg that oozed out over the chicken and rice and gravy. The Portugese sausage was thinly cut and crisp, the beef sliced finely and drenched with a beautiful sauce, the mac salad creamy and tasty. Why I loved it: The service was impeccacble, the food insatiable and everything about the experience warranted a return visit - stat. Cost: Average to high

Yelp
Back again! First off the Kona coffee was a nice rich flavor and just bold and beautiful. They served it with Coffee Mate which I will not use always leaves a greasy film. They offered milk in a small syrup cup. We started with gyoza perfect mix of steamed and fried. Next was my meal. It's a great mix of Hawaiian favourites. Terri beef spam Portuguese sausage mochico chicken served with rice and mac salad. Great staff friendly and efficient. See you all soon'

Yelp
Kona Kitchen Lynnwood is the closest and most convenient Hawaiian restaurant to us. We were going to their Seattle location before they opened in Lynnwood. Although we like the food quality and the service better in Seattle, we switched for the location and parking. It satisfies our Hawaiian craving. The Hawaiian Fried Rice is their version of the Royale, and it's very good. The most important part of course is the rice. It's cooked to the perfect consistency. It's got Liz's BBQ Pork in it. As I recall, it used to be much better. The char shu now tastes more like commercially made. It's still a winner and very satisfying. The Spam and Rice is a comfort food to me. They were good enough to substitute one of the scoops of rice for Mac salad. This did the job.

Yelp
After years of trying to find a reliable and tasty breakfast spot, we happened on Kona Kitchen. Their breakfast game is AMAZING, anchored by the most excellent Portuguese sausage and crispy hash browns. I'm a big fan of the Portuguese sausage benedict, although most of their breakfast menu is very good to great (especially those that allow the sausage as a meat choice). We also love that the coffee comes in home-y Hawaiian-themed mugs, and that the decor features memorabilia from owner Yuji Okumoto's acting career (he's best known as the Karate Kid's nemesis in Part II). Both locations are great, but we're partial to the Lynnwood restaurant even though it's further away.

Yelp
I've been on the lookout for quality Hawaiian food in the Seattle area but unfortunately Kona Kitchen was a bit of a miss for me. I came here for a late dinner around 8pm on a Sunday with a group of 5, and we were able to be seated immediately. The menu here is huge - they do a massive variety of food including breakfast food (eggs benedict, omelettes, etc), Hawaiian food (loco moco, kalua pork, etc) and even some Korean food (Korean fried chicken, kimchi fried rice). I ended up getting the Waimea plate lunch special, which comes with a few slices of pork katsu and teri beef, two spring rolls, 2 scoops of rice, and a scoop of macaroni salad. I asked whether it'd be possible to get 2 scoops of mac salad and 1 scoop of rice and they were able to accommodate this. Overall everything just tasted a bit bland? I love mac salad, but this one didn't have a lot of flavor. The pork katsu was probably the best thing on the dish, as it was fried well and I liked the sauce that was drizzled on top. The portion was also a lot smaller than what I was expecting - usually I have trouble finishing an entire plate of food at Hawaiian places but I was able to finish this plate lunch special easily. There were only a few slices of teri beef given. From what I heard from my friends, their dishes also lacked flavor or were overly salty. Servers here were nice but service was super slow. Food took a while to come out and it also took a while for them to come take our order even though there weren't a ton of other people in the restaurant. I'll probably opt to try somewhere else next time I want Hawaiian.

Emily M.

Yelp
My husband and I ate here for the first time and were pretty impressed. We love Hawaiian food and really enjoyed the Machiko Chicken and Hawaiian Fried Rice. The crab puffs were also really good but slightly overdone. The filling was so good though! The fried rice was my favorite even compared to Maui hot spots like Down the Hatch and Kihei Caffe. If I could give 4.5 stars, I'd probably lean towards that because service was a little slow and the crab puffs would have been better less crisp. However, I do like that you can tell they hand deep fry them and the fired rice was so good! Can't wait to come back.

Wendie L.

Yelp
We came here for brunch in a weekday and were seated quickly. My husband ordered the corned beef hash Benedict and I ordered the Waimea combo off the lunch menu. My husband didn't like his corn beef hash, he said it wasn't flavorful and the texture was weird. I had a taste and it was very soft. I think they use canned corn beef because the texture was really off. My Waimea dish consisted of teriyaki beef, katsu chicken, and two small egg rolls. It was very well seasoned and I really enjoyed it. We also ordered the rainbow cake and it was delicious. They told us that they ordered it from a specialty bakery in Seattle so it's not made in house for anyone who wanted to order a whole cake. You can order it but you'll have to do it ahead of time because they get their cakes delivered on a certain day each week.

James Y.

Yelp
The location was very close to the hotel I was staying in and I wanted something warm for it was cold and rainy. I ordered the saimin and spam musubi. They have small and large, went with small. The soup for the saimin is very light sort of like bonito flake based, I think. The spam musubi was good.

Rob E.

Yelp
We've long time fans of the Seattle store and thus had no qualms in having a breakfast at the Lynnwood location. While the food was good, the service left a lot to be desired. The order for our party of four was delivered in stages, with the time from the first to the last plate taking 20 minutes. This left us with a choice of waiting and having most of the table food grow cold or eating and leave the last of our party eating alone. Through all of this our wait person offered no comments and we had to ask for coffee and water refills. Kona, please do better.

Beini P.

Yelp
We came in at 1pm on a Sunday and were told they needed 10 minutes to get a table ready. No problem, we can come back in 10. After 10 minutes we are seated at a table. We look over the menu and wait. No waiter, no interaction the next 20 minutes. The place was fairly busy, but not packed. There were waiters cleaning empty tables instead of checking on us. Multiple waiters even made eye contact with us. Super bizarre that no one even checked our table for that long. We left after not being acknowledged for 20 minutes. Would not recommend this place until they hire more staff or have more attentive waiters.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Very good food! I had the Aloha burger that was delicious! Definitely impressed with the food. Beer selection was good too! Staff and service was great too! The only thing negative I can say is that I'de recommend using the bathroom before you come here to eat.

Derrick G.

Yelp
This is a good Hawaiian Restaurant. I ordered Loco Moco and an appetizer of Buffalo Wings. The Loco Moco was very tasty, but the beef patty and egg were slightly overcooked. The Buffalo Wings wee satisfactory. The customer service was excellent. The host and server were very courteous and attentive. The excellent customer service definitely made up for the slight missteps on the entree.

Marshall P.

Yelp
Food is good, I usually go for my fix of wonton mein, the soup base could be better though, but other than that it's a very good Saimin dish.

Ina M.

Yelp
Great service and great food ! Both the breakfast and lunch/dinner stuff is great. Fair warning though in the breakfast times on weekends they get really busy and there isn't much seating.

Tina S.

Yelp
We both got Loco Moco and the flavor of the fried rice was so delicious. My son had hamburger patty, spam, Portuguese sausage. I just got the patty. Gravy also delicious. My only negative feedback was the hamburger patty was tough and dry. Service was fabulous, prices not to bad and place was clean.

Kelly L.

Yelp
Came here for lunch at we liked the atmosphere. Very spacious seattle which was really comfortable. We ordered the sea salt salmon and Kalua pig plate, and found both a little too salty. Our server was really cheerful and nice though, and the food came pretty quickly.

Amber S.

Yelp
Finally tried out this place! It's been on my mind since I moved here from Hawaii- but was honestly scared of them messing up the Hawaiian food! Well, turns out it's pretty good! The Kalbi are more Korean style (thin and marinated) then what I would normally get at Hawaiian places on the islands (thicker). The kimchi was delicious! The mac salad was good- but there's a flavor I can't quite nail down that I'm not used to. Prices have gone up since last menu posting so I have taken new pictures. I wanted to add on some saimin, but couldn't bear the new $8 price. They are a little understaffed it seems, but service was quick and pleasant. I tried some of the mochiko chicken from my partners plate and it was *chefs kiss* delicious. We would definitely come back! Also perk: they have all day breakfast!

Abhinav S.

Yelp
East and West: Very similar to Buddha Bruddah, which is also present on the eastside as well as Seattle. Been wanting to go to Kona, especially the Seattle location. But was too lazy to drive down there and leave my pup at home. Because green lake always needs Oliver to be present Settled with the Lynwood location instead. Dunno if Seattle is better or not. Food: Got the Mochiko Chicken and Korean Chicken. The chicken was super juicy and delicious. I liked the Mochiko better since I'm not a huge fan of sweet in salty food. Boo to pineapple on pizza. But Korean chicken isn't really overpowering in terms of sweetness. Large portions of food +++ Service: Folks are friendly and quick. Food comes out piping out and relatively fast. Ambience: It gives off an old 80s fast food place. Not the new mc Donald's or Wendy's you see today, but the one you might see in an old movie. Also, the utensils, plates, tables, chairs, decorations, literally everything calls out frugality. They've clearly bought plenty of stuff second hand, and haven't spent a whole lot of money on jazzy stuff, which isn't bad. Food, service and cleanliness is top notch.

Jerome R.

Yelp
Service is 10/10 Food is Whole restaurant is clean and servers are friendly and welcoming. Thank you

Ray A.

Yelp
My review actual is more like a 3.5. I really wanted to love this place, but it's more of a like. They have good customer service, the food is good, but lost stars for me are prices/presentation/quantity. And to be clear I base this all on two thing when it comes to Hawaiian food since it's usually the two things I order in every Hawaiian restaurant I go to here on the mainland or on the islands, the loco moco and spam musubi. To me, not only do I love to make and eat those, but for any establishment that serves these, that's my litmus test to see if they are any good. So I know a good/quality loco moco and how it should be made, the way Canadians knows a good/quality poutine. First off their spam musubi, excellent. Definitely made fresh because the rice is still warm, the nori crisp, and price for one musubi on par. And they make it like I do, with the whole nori wrap. I hate those stingy looking musubi with just a strip of nori wrap around, use the whole sheet dammit! Now where I have issue, hence the lost stars, is their loco moco. Here are the pros: 1. Love the "Build your own" Loco Moco idea 2. Good gravy taste and viscosity 3. Was full after the meal (but that is attributed to an abundance of rice). Now the cons: 1. Only one burger patty 2. Only one egg 3. Meat/egg to rice ratio is waaaay off (there's a lot of rice) 4. Price for all that rice: white-$9.29 or fried-$13.29 =seriously pricey for rice 5. Price for your meat choice-$4.00=for ONE patty (in my case burger patty and that's the cheapest of the meats) Now what I can tell you, and please keep in mind this is MY personal experience, but every loco moco I've ever ordered or made for myself (and I've eaten a lot in my time) has two patties, two eggs and a butt ton of gravy. And while the Kona Kitchen loco moco had some good flava, I just couldn't get over one patty, one egg and all that rice for $17.00 (I ordered the fried rice and burger patty options). Just as an example, here are some excerpts from a few other places I've had loco moco's and their menu description: Bobby's Hawaiian menu: Loco Moco Hamburger Patty Plate From $17.25 TWO hamburger patties, TWO eggs, and brown gravy on a bed of rice. Hawaiian Sun BBQ menu: Loco Moco Mini $6.50 Regular $8.50 Hamburger PATTIES with/TWO eggs and topped w/ homemade gravy L&L Drive Inn menu: Loco Moco Mini $4.25 Regular $6.25 Savory hamburger PATTIES over rice, topped with brown gravy and TWO fresh fried eggs. Goodness! even the mini's have two pattys and two eggs! (Is it me or the more "celebrity" status a place has the more they need to charge premium prices for not so premium things. In the Case of Bobby's Hawaiian I think that moron Douche Fieri said something was "Off the hook" or something. Then of course Kona Kitchen is owned and operated by Yuji Okumoto (Chozen Toguchi on Karate Kid 2 and Netflix series)...but I digress. Oh and the one last bit, every other place ALWAYS has Hawaiian Mac salad on the side for all the plate lunches. I don't think I've ever ordered a loco moco (or any Hawaiian dish) and not have the mac on the side. So short one patty, short one egg and if you want mac that's an extra side for $3.29 when it's a given side every place else? It's like bread sticks at an Italian restaurant or chips and salsa at Mexican. It is a given! Maybe if the patty was bigger? That could've been forgiven, but it wasn't. Maybe if it was a patty made from ribeye or Wagyu? Can't justify only one egg, now come on! Especially with as much rice as they give, that's just cheap but you can order an additional egg for $2.59? Goodness, you could by a whole dozen for that much. But like I said, they have good customer service, the food tastes good, but unfortunately I take my loco moco's seriously dammit! And I have certain expectations that can't be ignored for it to be considered a proper loco moco. I understand that everyplace has to up the costs to make a profit, but to do that and serve less? That's just bush league.

Yelp
A mountain of food that will leave you questioning your waistline, morals, and self control. Was it smart to cram a truckload of carbs into your body in that one sitting? What could you have done to resist the temptations of fluffy rice, sweet grilled meats, and crispy spring rolls? Will the food coma you're about to experience happen five or thirty minutes from now? Will your husband enjoy the size of your new butt? Was it all worth it? Yes.

Kauhi H.

Yelp
Been a while since we've been here to eat and had a god experience back then, but not sure what happened after Covid with customer service. We walked in and waited at the front to be seated and the host didn't acknowledge us even though he saw us waiting. My wife had to walk over to the bar and ask about seating. After being seated we waited for about 10 minutes with no one checking to see if we were ready to order. Someone did bring our water but we had to flag down a passing server who was in a different section. Server finally came and took our order. The food was great, the food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was tasty but service was lacking. Our server who finally came was very nice but just the time it took to get anyone to help us was disappointing. Again, the food was great and came out in a timely manner, but the restaurant was lacking service professionalism

Yelp
Teri beef was dry and lacked favor. Suggestion to include Teri sauce for to go orders.

Kalua pig and kalbi beef are really salty. Food taste not consisted. Customer service just fair. Serving are large, can be good for two . Food price average!

Yelp
We usually go to Kona kitchen Seattle but decided to give Lynnwood location a try today. We were greeted couple minutes after we arrived and was shown where to sit. I know it is a sit down restaurant, but when we came in, it felt like a fast food restaurant... Unsure if it was the metal divider bars or the 2 TV screens with menu on it, but either or, I was confused for the first 10 seconds if it was a order in front and go sit down or they come take your order. After we were seated, server came back in about 5-10 mins with the waters. I ordered beef stew (standard with rice and mac salad) and hubby ordered loco moco with fried rice, hamburger steak, egg and gravy. Overall taste of both food was great. I loved how the stew was super hot when it was served. Loco moco was pretty on point. Yummy gravy and burger patty over fried rice. I just wish the hamburger steak was a bit bigger? And more gravy. Tasted great tho. I was thinking about taking off 1 star because the restaurant was so cold but food was good, so decided against it.

Yelp
I honestly do not come here enough. The food is great! It's hard to say what kind of restaurant this is though. They have a good breakfast menu that's served all day and they have a sort of Hawaiian/Asian inspired menu that is also served all day. I can in fact say I have tried a little bit of everything. I've had their spam musubi, loco moco, kalua pig, mochiko chicken, and their Belgian waffle. Everything has been consistent and fantastic. I'm definitely fond of the loco moco since I've ordered that the most. I usually like to pay the extra to have it fried rice instead of white rice. I have noticed the inclusion of Korean flavors in some of their dishes on the menu, but have yet to tried them. I feel like this is a great place for breakfast if all the other diners are packed. I can see myself coming here in the morning on the regular. But Kona Kitchen is also great for lunch and dinner as well. Definitely a great place to dine in or get take out. I really need to give this place more recognition because I did not think much of it before, but now, I see it as a very well rounded restaurant that serves amazing food.

Yelp
Found this restaurant on yelp while visiting Lynwood. Service is stellar (Cristian rocks!), we were seated promptly and food came out fast! Docking a couple of stars because they were out of Saimin (what I was intensely craving that lead me here) , and I was expecting a bit more flavor on the beef stew. The Chantilly cake is amazing- big on Mac nut flavor!

Yelp
Came here for a work meeting with two others. Neither one of us have been here so we were hoping it was good since I, along with a co-worker, were there for business with a potential buyer. Thankfully, it started out with great customer service. Server was top notch and very respectful when approaching our table. I ordered the Mochiko Chicken and thought it was pretty good. I wish it would have come with some sort of sauce, but luckily I had some left from the spring rolls we had order as an appetizer. Prize wise, it was very comparable with any other restaurant. The portion size was larger than I expected for a lunch.

Yelp
Kona Kitchen is the go-to place for feel-good food! Try the French toast, you won't be sorry.

Yelp
Gotta love easy parking, cute Hawaiian interior, friendly service and amazing food. My friends ordered coffee because it was brunch time and they all got their own unique hawaiian mug cups with different designs on them which i thought was adorable. I ordered Kannak attack with pass-o-guava juice and portion was massive, even for the juice. I had to tick one star off because the kalbi beef was beyond salty, almost had a dried beef jerky texture and flavor :( my friend also had the same thing and neither of us could finish the beef. Everything else was spot on (perfect hawaiian rice, chicken and spam/sausages) but definitely disappointed in the kalbi beef because its hard to mess up unless its been sitting out/old/beyond overcooked.

Yelp
My wife has selected this as her new favorite brunch place. She prefers the omelets over other local places. I like it. She'd give it a 5, but I'll give it a 4, so 4.5. Coffee is great. Food is high quality. Service is usually excellent and once only "good." Nothing fancy in terms of the place, but it is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking.

Yelp
Kona Kitchen is one of my favorite places to eat. I had visited the Seattle location many times and was thrilled to find they expanded to Lynnwood. I find parking to be more ideal at their Lynnwood location and the food is just as good. I brought some friends for breakfast and they all got the diamond head breakfast and cleaned their plates. The French toast was one of the best I've ever had. I opted for the fried rice and order it every time, it's a favorite. If you haven't tried kalbi beef you're missing out on life.

Yelp
I'm not that picky. Service was great, mac salad and Teri beef tasty; however their Mochi chicken was dry. I could hardly chew it.

Yelp
Came here with 5 folks and covered a good deal of the menu for the more local (vs. more classic "American") options. But they were out of saimin! That said, the lau lau was good, and the fried rice loco moco with meatloaf was outstanding, but eating that on a regular basis will put you in the hosptial for sure. =) Kids menu was good and they made a point to get that out first. Nice. Food aside, the service here was exceptional. The only element of service we were unable to test/experience was tied to someone not familiar with local food getting some help with the menu. Decor is very different from the Seattle location. Clean and modern, but pretty generic relative to how well the Seattle location is decorated. Miss a lot of the pictures, etc. on the wall there.
