"Kona’s Street Market in SoMa is from the people behind Pacific Cocktail Haven. When you get here, scoot into a booth or plop down at the bar under the neon signs, which flash the cocktail specials of the day. The drink menu is split into different regions from around the world and highlights ingredients and spirits from each, like ube coconut cream, pandan, and shochu in the “Asia + Pacific” section, and horchata or mezcal under “Americas.” The drinks are strong yet refreshing, and the inviting space always makes us want to linger, especially since they also host karaoke Tuesdays, DJs, and themed events." - lani conway, julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez
"This bar in SoMa is named after the owner's pitbull—so it’s no surprise that the spot is extremely dog-friendly. Their cocktail menu is split into different regions from around the world and highlights ingredients from each—you’ll see ube coconut cream, pandan, and shochu in the “Asia + Pacific” section, or horchata and mezcal under “Americas.” The drinks are strong and refreshing, and if you’re lucky you’ll catch a glimpse of the eponymous dog chilling in a booth." - julia chen 1
"Nearby PCH is sister bar Kona’s Street Market, which is just as overloaded with Christmas decorations and surfing Santa mugs. Not to mention a surfing Santa cut-out that has a face hole with your name on it and drinks with the classic holiday twists. The difference? There’s not usually a line or a cover charge. Try the Island of Misfit Toys with Jamaican rum, pumpkin puree, and cinnamon, or the Kris Kringle Colada that’s mixed with allspice. Walk-in only, but parties of eight or more can make reservations online." - patrick wong

"Kona’s Street Market feels pretty festive all year round thanks to its glowing marquee and strings of lights. But through the holiday season, it’s taking things up a notch with the tropical-themed Sippin’ Santa pop-up, which runs through New Year’s Eve. Extra lights and tons of tinsel add to the cheer, plus there’s an annual menu of holiday cocktails. It’s best to make a reservation ahead of time." - Justine Jones

"If you haven’t yet dropped into Kona’s Street Market for their monthlong, annual Halloween takeover, head there now: Black Lagoon is back until October 31, the space is decked out in spooky decor, and they’re serving strong cocktails such as Nightmare Fuel, which mixes tequila with Giffard Mangue, absinthe, matcha, lime, and Bitter Queens Thai spice bitters, and the Psychosis shot, made of rye, miso falernum, and lemon." - Dianne de Guzman
