AMAZING Thai food here!! Good for dining in and take out. I’ve tried their noodles, curries, fried rice, and Laotian dishes and everything has been amazing. Huge portions. Hot and fresh even when you’ve ordered to go. Not too be missed is the the Thai green tea — very sweet and slightly floral. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating!

Super yummy for me cz I am a spicy person and I love Lao style salad the only thing is the place is kind of small and hard to find and it’s behind the gas station.But their bathroom super tidying

Very solid Laotian place. I had the drunken noodles with shrimp. Very spicy! Very flavorful. My friend had pork. It was too fatty for me. The mango sticky rice was also good, especially the mango. Extremely kind and friendly service. Check it out when you're in the area!

Picked up the Yellow Curry Lunch Special was very impressed. The Curry had alot of flavor lots of chicken and veggies it came with a good portion of rice , side salad , crunchy egg roll 😋 great deal I'll be coming back!

Visited Los Angeles this weekend and wanted Thai food for lunch. Started with the Lao Papaya Salad which was very fresh to help wake up our taste buds. Proceeded to the Pineapple Fried Rice that was full of flavor and not too oily. Next was the Lao Chicken Larb that I had eaten for the first time. It had the right amount of spicyness and the ground chicken was cooked just right. Perfectly matched their tasty Pad Thai. That was a great lunch!

We came for lunch to try food from Lao. The lady suggested Khao Piak. It was surprisingly delicious. The home made noodle has a texture of rice cake and the broth was very flavorful. It was even more fantastic with the chilli oil they brought us. The boat noodle was also full of flavor and has lots of ingredients. Very delicious! The Thai ice coffee was very good but kind of pricey.

First time here and enjoyed our food. The seafood soup taste really good. The pad see ew, combination fried rice were also delicious and were fresh made. Service was outstanding, prices are good as well. Place is kept clean, wasn't too busy and there is plenty of parking on the lot.

Great place to meet up with friends for lunch or dinner. My entrees have always been tasty. I jave even had special requests and they have accommodated me. Staff and customer service is excellent. Prices are great for the portions you receive. I always bring leftovers home. Dated decor, simple yet always clean and comfortable and good for large or small parties. Local favorite since you see people picking up orders nonstop while dining there.

I was passing through SFV and I was starving. I needed a meal before flying home out of BUR. Last time I was in LA I had incredible Northern Thai food, so when I searched Kop Jai Lai popped up. It's Laotian, which is close to the Isaan part of Thailand, and they share flavors. I ordered a chicken larb and summer rolls. When they asked how spicy for the larb, I said, "The hottest white person spicy, but not Laotian spicy". And damn if it wasn't right on the money, just as hot as I could take and eat the whole thing. It was delicious. The veggie summer rolls were a great companion, and came with a unique not-peanut sauce heavy with fish sauce and garlic. Recommended.

Ordered takeout from here about a week ago and it hit the spot. I ordered a chicken pad Thai and a won ton soup. Pad Thai was pretty good but my favorite was the soup. Delicious and perfect for the recent cold evenings. I ordered delivery so I can't speak on the ambiance or hospitality of staff but as for service, the order arrived on time.

You can order the dishes as vegetarian! Their menu doesn't say it, but you can call in and they will adjust the dish to vegetarian. Don't skip this place, it's one of the best Asian food in the SFV.

I've been getting takeout from Kop Jai Lai about couple times a month since I discovered it and it has been absolutely fantastic every single time. I tried the Khao Poon Curry Chicken today and wow! I want to bottle this sauce up and put it on everything. My kids love the chicken pho and gyoza and think this is the best food ever.

The service here is great. There's a really big parking lot so you won't have trouble finding a spot. The area is a little sketchy at times. The noodles were delicious. I really like that they didn't over cook the meat. Nice and soft. The soup was really sour. I personally like that they didn't it wasn't overwhelming in the coconut flavor. Also, it had a lot of chicken and mushroom in it. They brought the rice in a container that didn't let it dry out. I think the egg rolls were okay. Asked for a side of hot sauce and they delivered. That was great with the egg rolls. I would come back and maybe try something new. The service was fantastic. I felt attended to without it being too much.

For the best THAI & LAOTIAN food in the San Fernando Valley, come to Kop Jai Lai! They even did an Eater LA article on them so you know they're legit! Food is absolutely delicious and portions are generous. The owner and staff are super-friendly and courteous. And I've never been disappointed with service because it's on point! I've been going here countless of times and my go-to faves are: KHAO POON PLA - if you love ramen or pho, try this noodle dish because the red curry broth is unique, creamy, and flavorful with a hint of spice. I crave this dish quite a bit, especially on cold days! Such slurpy-goodness!! PAD SEE EW W/ TOFU - perfectly balanced flavors. And perfect ratio of veggies, tofu, and noodles. My mom and I love this! Tip-get the tofu fried . My family raves about these other dishes as well: CHINESE BROCCOLI WITH CRISPY PORK FRIED TILAPIA FISH YELLOW CURRY RAD NA CRISPY NOODLES COMBINATION FRIED RICE This place is spacious with ample seating so perfect for big group lunch/dinners. Spacious parking right in front as well so coming here is easy peasy!

The pad thai was not good at all, shrimp was bland and over cooked and my stomach hurt after. the noodles themselves also were bland and flavorless and had a weird burnt flavor. do not recommend.

Lao and Thai food. Yes please! Food with flavor, yes! The food is good, not the best, but it's good. The sausage has flavor, but lacks texture. It was all soft and mushy, only bite was from the casing. The Penang was ok, very average to the most average of all other Thai restaurants. We ordered medium spice, but should've just ordered spicy. The fried rice was just ok. It didn't have enough char from the wok. It does taste very home-ly and old school. The star of the show was the noodles. Fresh-made and hand-cut, in a delicious well-flavored broth. Just awesome, make sure you order this. Would recommend to try this restaurant. Will come back if I'm around the area, but won't drive to it just for it.

This KJL fried rice is probably one of the best fried rice's I've ever had. It has the perfect amount of broccolini, bbq pork, tomato and green onions. It was delivered fresh and hot! You can't go wrong.

Love this place .... Last week I tried their Pad see ew. Was Delish Forgot to snap a picture ... I give it 4 stars. Because their Fresh rolls are the only thing sloppy. They fall apart. Needs practice. But they taste really good. W/ shrimp / Tofu / chicken etc. I just don't like my food falling apart Otherwise Love it. Try it

Finally I've found a delicious Thai spot, I've honestly been to about a dozen other Thai places and the flavors didn't taste authentic but maaan this place is delicious and the service is amazing with them always being so kind and attentive, thank you!

Located in Granada Hills, this place serves delicious Lao/Thai dishes. The kids always order the Pad see ew. Their crab fried rice is tasty! Hubby likes the Laotian Beef Jerky. Service is good. They are friendly and attentive. They have a parking lot shared with other businesses but you should be able to find spots.

Came with a party of 6 for lunch. Sat on a clean big round table with a lazy Susan in the middle. Best dishes are the seafood soup which has the right sourness and garlic string beans with shrimp. The string beans were fresh and not overcooked. They can do away with the imitation crab in the soup. The crispy noodle with tofu was great. The fried pompano fish need more salt. It would be nice if they come with green papaya salad rather than just plain cucumbers and tomato. Service was fast and efficient. They do have lunch specials which I will try the next time around.

One of my go to restaurants in the valley. Usually get chicken pad Thai and BBQ pork fried rice. Always amazing. The chicken satay is good as well!

Just like they said, I like my food like I love the summer time weather in California. Hot & spicy! So i found this joint called Kop Jai Lai in Mission Hills. We came here since we felt like eating spicy hot food in a balmy hot day! We had some takeouts orders before & loved its spicy dishes. So, we wanted to see in-person dining experience, & it was a good call. Air conditioning worked very well inside & rest room was above average for Asian restaurant. Not that I'm picky. I like to rate 1 star for each categories & restroom was one of those categories that I always looked at. The waitress was very polite & courteous, attentive to our order. Parking was a plenty; maybe, it was a balmy day! Price was not bad at all! 3 eat-in items, 4 take outs, with 20% gratitude on 3 eat-in items, total in the amount of $124! Go try yourself & ... Bon appetite!

Get the BBQ Beef. We ordered off Uber Eats and there was no description or anything just beef, right? So I'm like, I've loved everything I've had here so far, gimme the beef! So I get the beef and I sh-t you not this was a charbroiled ribeye cooked legit medium rare. And they throw in this ridiculous sauce - spicy, tangy, garlicky, dippable - and now I understand my place in this world is to get more people on this. Must have been 12 oz? I don't know I didn't take pictures there was no time. Now go!

My favorites were the khao piak and pad see ew. The khao piak was light and savory, paired with the chicken and crispy pork, YUM! Pad see ew came with chicken and vegetables, perfectly seasoned. They had a spicy condiment tray that included pickled jalapeños that were perfect paired with the pad see ew. We also ordered the Lao papaya salad medium which was pretty spicy and salty. We asked for extra lime which made it more edible. I wouldn't order that again...maybe the Thai version is better? Service was great. They were busy with only 2 girls working but they did a great job and were hustling.

The best Thai food places are the hole in the wall places. This place is not close to home, but worth the drive. Nothing fancy, but the food! OMG! The food! My mom is from Thailand and craves this place. We drive out her for the Thai and Lao style dishes. This place is unique because you have the option of getting the same dish but made differently depending on the region you're from. Pretty impressive. Everyone is so friendly here. The staff always has great recommendations. My favorite is the green curry with tofu and eggplant. I love coming during lunch to get the lunch special. It's a smaller portion, but it comes with rice, salad, and an egg roll. The papaya salad is so yummy! I love the Thai style, but my mom prefers the Lao style. Can't go wrong with anything here!

Tom Yum Soup is spectacular! The food was delicious and amazing. Especially the chicken wings. Service is good as well.

A gem!!! Ask Brenda or Greg for suggestions and you will be shown greatness! I love that their Thai iced tea isn't too sweet. This was my first time trying Lao food. It is divine!!! Clean gorgeous restaurant and very warm and inviting service. Even better food. I love this place and can't wait to come back. Everything came out fresh and hot. They are such talented people who work here. They're passionate about their cuisine and they know how to make some truly delicious food. Highly recommend their Lao fried rice lettuce wraps, orange chicken, Chinese greens with pork, and mango sticky rice. We can't wait to go back and try more items. I know there are so many other famous dishes that they have here that we must try!!! Plenty of parking in their shared private lot. Accepts cash, credit, etc.

Don't sleep on the khao piak sen! Literally the only place in LA county that makes this comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup but the aromatics and chewy noodles made of tapioca flour, my goodness! Pro-tip, ask them to crack a beaten egg into the soup, you're welcome! If I order takeout, you bet that's the first thing I do when I get home

Happy to find a good lao food in the area! We ordered bunch of dishes to try. I love the sausages, perfect tastes. The crispy fried rice was good also but need to eat it right away cuz it get harder as it become cold. We also other another 3 noodle dishes and they are all good. Customer service is good, very friendly and the place is clean.

Our first visit here the service was just ok and the boat noodle soup was delicious. When we received to-go containers there was a little brown tapered cylinder in the container that looked a lot like a mouse poop. I showed one of the staff and he clearly wasn't surprised and got us a new container. I'm not a poop expert and the food was pretty good, so we went back. This time the service was horrible. We waited a very long time to order and, once the first plate arrived, a little brown cylinder the same as the last one was on the edge of the plate. Terrifying, but, still not a poop expert, so we ate anyway. The chicken larb was bland and the spring rolls were fine. The main server was cold and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Between the bad service and the mysterious poop-like cylinders this place is a no-go for us. If you want authentic delicious Thai go to Wat Thai Sat-Sun 8am-5pm.

Food was very good. It's not cheap, but totally worth it! I'd definitely recommend this place to my friends.

The food was good, but the waitress's strong recommendation for the "very sweet" Mango Sticky Rice didn't match reality; it wasn't sweet at all. When I brought this up, she implied that I was the only one who had a complaint and implied there was something wrong with me. Oh well...‍

My favorite place for pad Thai and chicken fried rice! I've never been inside, I always order online but they always get it right, the food is obviously fresh and the times I've had to call in for something they've had great service. I've also had their chicken pho and it's really good !

I was excited to find out that there was some Laotian food in this area. I ate the Mok Pa ("Mok Pla" on the menu), which was delicious. I ordered this with sticky rice, a perfect pairing. The Thai iced tea was quite sweet, but maybe I just haven't had one in a while, so I'm not used to sweet drinks any more since I am generally trying to avoid sugar (not here, though, haha!). The Mok Pla was delicious and flavorful, as you might expect from catfish that is slow-cooked in banana leaves with lemongrass, shallots, garlic, and Lao spices. Served over sticky rice, it's absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a Lao Specialties menu, and I would encourage anyone to try this part of the menu as well. We all love Thai food, but to try something that is a little different is a special opportunity that not every place has, so why not do it? The restaurant was pleasant and the service was good and friendly, and they were able to easily answer some of the questions I had about dishes on the menu. I shall definitely be returning!

This place was amazing! The restaurant is really spacious and the mom and pop feel made the experience that much better. The lady who served us was amazing also! She was very charismatic and her suggestions were lively! This place has to be one of the best lao/thai restaurants i've ever been to! the food is unforgettable and this was one of the best nam khao i've ever had. Plus I haven't had mok pla in forever so eating such amazing mok pla here was incredible. 10/10...no 15/10!

Pleasantly surprised by this hole in the wall! Food was good, the red curry especially surprised me. Spacious parking lot and plenty of seating inside. They took us right away and the service was quick!

Tried this place for the first time after eyeballing it for a while. Service is on point. Food is pretty good. Dining room is spacious. Only tried a few dishes so 4 stars for now. Will upgrade to 5 if other dishes are good on subsequent visits.

Been coming here for our Thai since we moved into the area a couple years ago. Delicious Thai food. Our usual is yellow curry with tofu, fried rice (for the kids), drunken noodles, and then we might throw in another random dish. They have good lunch specials too. Definitely recommend trying it out!

The best Nam khao I've ever had in a restaurant. It was so crunchy and flavorful! Wish the Kao poon pla had more meat but the broth was delicious and the noodles were perfect

I only ordered fried tofu from this place for a quick bite and thai iced tea while doing laundry next door. Tofu was good and thai tea was good as well. The place was busy when I walked in during lunch time. I'll try their other food on the menu next time I go there.

I do not live in the area and stopped here for an early dinner. I had the khao piak which the server recommended. It was delicious. The broth is mild in heat and then you can add their amazing chili if you want to make it spicy. So good! And the staff is very warm and welcoming.

This place is the best Thai / Lao restaurant in the valley. Maybe even in LA. I've tried many many Thai places in this city and none come close to the food here. It is SO good, so flavorful, and the menu is huge. My partner and I go here probably 2x a month and have tried like 50% of the menu. Some faves are: crispy pork and Chinese broccoli, the string beans with garlic, pad kee Mao, pineapple fried rice, oar gai, beef jerky, pork jerky, and lao style chicken larb. You honestly can close your eyes and pick and it will taste phenomenal. It's def a hole in the wall and the decor isn't modern but you're here for the best SE Asian in LA. Eat the food and you'll be happy.

Kop Jai Lai is the only Laotian restaurant in the SFV and it is located in Mission Hills. The name of the restaurant means, "Thank you very much", in Laotian. Keep in mind, the restaurant also advertises to serve Thai food too. I came here specifically to try Laotian dishes only, and chose the Khao Poon Pla, supposedly containing red curry paste, coconut milk, tilapia, rice vermicelli noodle, cabbage, bean sprouts and carrots. At the get go, I did not taste or see the tilapia. The soup came with a dense mush of a paste, probably where the fish was and it definitely needed to be broken up, stirred and distributed through the soup. Noodles and vegetables were well presented. The overall product was tasty and had intense flavor. Service was scanty. Saw more staff hanging out in the dining room than working. The one overworked server did not seem happy. Unfortunately, scenarios like these take away from the totality and pleasure of the restaurant dining experience.

The masamun curry is outstanding, some of the best I've ever had. Definitely this alone is worth the trip. They offer you three spice levels with "spicy" the hottest choice. Unfortunately it wasn't very spicy to my taste, but it was delicious nonetheless

Today when I was going into work after my dentist appointment I ran into the cutest Lao-Thai restaurant called Kop Jai Lai! The interior design is beautiful with guilted paintings and sculptures. The background music is soft and delightful I ordered the Thai iced coffee and it tasted amazing!!! Then the main dish - Khao Piak came in and it was amazing with the hot sauce. The service was super quick even though it's peak lunch hour on a Friday at 12:30pm!

Parking: There's parking in the front and you don't have to worry about getting a spot. Ambiance/Service: Small little restaurant in a shopping center. A little old school Thai spot but clean. The man at the front was super cute and nice. The woman serving us was so nice and very happy. It put us in a good mood. She constantly said thank you and you can tell she was genuine. Food: Chinese broccoli with crispy pork was really good and I'm not even a pork person. The pork was perfectly crispy and didn't have that aftertaste that pork gives off. Lao sausage was this delicious ground pork and lemongrass sausage that they make. Oar gai (Oar Chicken) is another great dish. Very good even with rice soaked into the sauce. It's a chicken, lemongrass and dill blast in your mouth. Nem Khao Tod (Crispy Fried Rice) was so good! The citrus cuts the fat just right. Khao poon curry chicken was good and the noodles were very comforting. Drinks: The Thai iced tea actually tasted legit and the black tea was nice and strong how I like it. Not watered down like a lot of restaurants out there. Coming back here more often because I really liked all their food and didn't have anything I didn't like. It's one of the only, if not only, Laotian restaurants in the valley. I hope it thrives and stays forever!

One of the best Thai /Laos Restaurant I have tried. Food is pretty good here. All the food that we ordered for me are equally good! Service is fast and nice and friendly staff. Place is clean and lots of parking. I will definitely be coming back to this place!!!

Great quality of food and they're very fast but they don't compromise the quality of the food. I do mostly to go orders but the couple of times I've dined in the service has been great.

I've been coming here for over 4 years, and the food is super fresh and DELICIOUS . The BEST IN THE VALLEY, service is fast and never disappoints. COME TO THIS FAMILY OWNED RESTAURANT!

I'm working up the street at PHCMC, and this is one of the closest Thai spots near the hospital that had great views. I must admit this is my first time here and I will definitely be back. The food was on point and I'm glad I showed up at 11:30 because the place gets packed.
