Two days in Athens

"A hundred metres from the square on Panagiotou Anagnostopoulou, this bakery turns out delicious croissants, pains au chocolat, cinnamon rolls and more, kneaded from pastry fermented for at least 20 hours; its founders, who worked in the kitchens of Noma, swear by French butter as their fat of choice." - The MICHELIN Guide

A must viost whem in Kolonaki athens. Kora is contemporary bakery with a good selection of sourdough bread and pastries, made on site and served through a hatch. The Cheese Torsade, Pain Chocolate were very good. The Pain Chocolate was big, delicately flakey, moist inside and with two lines of beautifully smooth dark chocolate. The Cheese Torsade was light, with buttery pastry and delicately balanced cheese flavours. The Cinnamon Bun is very popular, according to reviews, but was too sweet for me. The cinnamon syrup is an unnecessary addittion in my view. The takeaway Coffee was good, full of flavour. I suggest grabbing a coffee and a pastry (or two) when next visiting Kolonaki. You will not regret it

Kora is a hidden gem in the heart of Kolonaki, Athens. This is more than just a bakery — it’s a full experience. The quality of the products is exceptional, with every loaf and pastry clearly crafted with care and expertise. The staff are genuinely kind and welcoming, making every visit feel personal. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast or picking up bread for the day, Kora elevates even the simplest of moments. Truly well done!

Kudos for the best kourabiedes I have ever tried and that exist overall. The butter is of high quality. They come in bite size and literally smell and taste amazing with the right portion of sugar. Didn’t get crazy with the rest of delicacies the bakery offers eg. desserts and sandwiches BUT the KORA-biedes are worth a taste award!

Delicious pastries, especially the cardamom bun! The bread looks absolutely delicious but haven’t tried it yet. Small window shop with good seating options. Love the attention to detail, it just looks very cute. Service was very good. Wish they had porcelain cups for coffee to have on site.

It's a first come-first served shop, we came by at around 12 and there were only 6 items available besides a couple sandwich options and the sourdough loafs. However, it's super worth it, we got two different kinds of cookies (sea salt choc and the double chocolate ones), a butter croissant and one of the best cardamom buns I've ever had. It's worth it to treat yourselves to this baker's goods. Also the free water and the coffee station are a nice touch, despite the narrow space.

World-class bakery with very friendly staff. I’ve basically tried everything, and my favorites are the cinnamon and cardamom buns, and the rice pudding. But everything is amazing. Just be aware that they sell out of everything well before their official closing time—around 2, most days, apparently—so if you’re like me and want to stock up for breakfast the following day before an early flight, don’t wait til late afternoon. There’s no real seating area but the few benches are enough to enjoy your treats if you don’t want to take it away.

Gorgeous bakery, with so much to chose from. Loved the sour dough loaf, and the spinach pastry was so unique. Never have we tried this type of pastry with a savoury filling. Very creative.
