The service was great and the food even better! Side dishes were fresh and crisp and the meals my wife and had were such big portions we were left full and happy! Would highly recommend.

You'll find an authentic dining experience that closely resembles actually being in Korea. The japchae is a highlight, featuring near-perfect glass noodles stir-fried with beef and a medley of fresh vegetables, delivering a delicious combination of flavors and textures. The side dishes, or banchan, complements the main courses beautifully, adding variety to your meal. For those who appreciate bold flavors, the kimchi and spicy cucumber salad are exceptional. Their spiciness is unparalleled - if you like spiciness, this will definitely satisfy. This commitment to authentic, robust flavors makes this spot a must-visit for anyone seeking genuine Korean cuisine. The restaurant's relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere and attentive service further enhance the experience.

I went with my best friend today and it was my first time coming here, yall I was not disappointed the food was great and it hit the spot. The ladies here were very nice as well and the service was great. Will be coming back here soon!!

The food was tasty and portions were generous—perfect for two people at dinner. My kids especially loved the beef bulgogi and glass noodles. The fried rice wasn’t the best but still okay. Overall, a good experience with fair pricing

Google
Food was incredible. Spot on with all the different tastes and flavors you could want. Very authentic and family owned environment. Absolute class service and would recommend to anyone.I particularly enjoyed the spicy seafood soup.

Google
I did four stars but it's really like a 4.5 out of 5 and I only really took off the half of star because I'm at my table and it's my first time they bring some dumplings out I'm like oh cool this is awesome I never ordered them you know I place my order I got an appetizer the beef roll and my stone bowl so I just thought it was a complimentary item it was good but at the end it was def on my bill and had not even been on my radar I was eating them so I didn't fight the issue but it was def not a part of my order. I can only that it was someone else's order that I was mistakenly given. The food was awesome, the place was busy but not over the top so the atmosphere was inviting and I enjoyed myself. I like open floor seating so that was a bonus for me because you don't see that a lot anymore. Overall I would definitely say try it I didn't have any issues with my food. I even had some to take back home with me and my son enjoyed that so we are all good here I will def be making another visit.

Google
Great food and friendly service. I had lunch here today and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The kimichi pancakes are amazing! The shrimp fried rice was very good. Just a wonderful atmosphere! I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you’re looking for authentic high quality, great tasting Korean food then this is your spot Amazing service, very friendly family owned restaurant so they keep the quality top tier The food is phenomenal and never disappoints Tried multiple different dishes and they’re all delicious with very good sized portions Cannot recommend this place enough

Yelp
Amazing portion sizes and amazing flavor. I always order to-go and my favorite part is the complimentary banchans/side dishes. It's a whole plate of side dishes and they're so unique and flavorful, it's literally a meal itself. The galbi/marinated short ribs are my favorite because they're so tender and sweet. Service is great, the lady that works there looks like she owns the place and she is always friendly and welcoming. Ambiance looks super cozy and homey.

Yelp
You don't have to explore the orient to savor the unique flavors of Korea! Located within a mile of Fort Sam Houston, this unassuming local favorite serves up authentic Korean fare in a bright setting. I walked in on a weekday around 6 p.m. and was seated at a booth by a staff member. Having a high degree of familiarity with Korean food, I already knew what I wanted before I looked at the menu. Yep, you guessed it - Bibimbap - a delicious masterpiece of rice and vegetables topped with an egg sunny side up! If you have a taste for something else, they have a host of other classic Korean dishes that are sure to please! As I was waiting, the server brought out an array of sides (banchan). This included kimchi, cucumbers, fish cakes, among others. My dish arrived steaming hot in a cast iron bowl. I added some spicy sauce and mixed it in the rice and toppings. It was delicious down to the last bite, and the rice had a distinctive crisp at the bottom of the bowl! Overall, I would say the food here is top notch and would highly recommend!

Yelp
It was my first time visiting San Antonio in a long time, and I was craving Korean food. The service here was very nice. They had very appetizing bento sets, but I wanted something simple. I ordered a rice cake/dumpling soup that was pretty good, but I didn't like the kimchi and some of the side dishes. You do get a discount for paying with cash. Overall, it's a decent place.

Yelp
Jjampong was great! Spicy but yummy! Menu offers such variety that I'm looking forward to trying other items soon

Yelp
Came around 2pm on a weekday and there were plenty of parking spots and seats. My first impression was how welcoming the staff were. Our waitress was so nice and friendly in recommending foods and making sure we had everything we needed. The samgyetang was flavorful and filling while the galbi lunch special was a great value and tasted amazing. The banchan sides were bountiful and tasty. I'll definitely be coming back to try some other options! The only down side was that we went in summer (June) and it was slightly warm in the restaurant. For those who fear cold AC, it is perfect for you!

Yelp
Family members highly recommended this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. We were greeted and seated immediately by the friendly waitstaff when we visited during lunch. The place was clean and comfortable. We were waited on quickly, and our food arrived just as fast. Most impressive was the deliciousness of our meals. We ordered the kimchi pancake for an appetizer, and it was fantastic -- I would order it again. We ordered pork bulgogi, beef bulgogi, and the stoneware bibimbap for our entrees. We recommend all of these dishes. They were abundant portions, and the prices were reasonable. I look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Looking for a good Korean restaurant to try, we headed to Koreana Restaurant. There were already several cars parked in front when we arrived. Dad and hubby had the Dole Lemonade, and I had the Lychee Hanjan. Hanjan wasn't sake but tasted a bit similar. We got several dishes to share: Japchae, LA Galbi, and Seafood Soft Tofu Soup. Great flavors with all the dishes! The beef short rib was very tender and tasty. The soup was spicy, so my hubby enjoyed that more. The best part is the ban chan, all the variety of sides from kimchi to cucumber to potatoes.  Koreana Restaurant seems to have been in this neighborhood for quite some time now, but the current owner has had the place for about a year. It's definitely worth a stop here!

Yelp
Our favorite Korean restaurant in San Antonio. Not quite as good as before the ownership change a while back, but still great. The dishes are plentiful and great.

Yelp
Service is amazing! Our waitress was so kind and was attentive to our table. The portions here are large! I would say the food is decent. The banchan was mediocre and some banchan dishes were too sweet; however, I really enjoyed the main dishes. I ordered yukgaejang and it was a huge portion! I was able to take home leftovers and eat it for two more meals. It came with plenty of beef and bean sprouts. My friends split the goat meat soup (the menu says it is 2 servings, but it could definitely serve 4!). The goat meat soup was so flavorful! It was my first time trying that kind of jeongol and I really liked it! Our table also split the tteokbokki. I thought this dish wasn't really worth it - it just tasted like one of the instant kits you can get at the Korean market. I would definitely come back to try more of the main dishes/stews!

Yelp
Wanted bibimbap when my young cousin started obsessing over it after exposure through a Korean show. This restaurant is the only one I found that served it. This restaurant sits between Seoul Food Korean Grill and a mexican restaurant. The area doesn't look very appealing but everything was copacetic in this restaurant. We ordered the bibimbap with japchae and bulgogi. Everything was very good. My only downfall was buying too much bibimbap because it is not good the second day. Definitely a dish that is to be enjoyed immediately.

Yelp
They are so amazing!! From customer service to portion size to quality of the food! ugh it's so good and so amazing!! Definitely coming back here again!

Yelp
First time! Staff was incredibly friendly! Very clean interior. Please was a little higher than expected but for the amount of food and quality it's worth it. Food was amazing! It's been hard finding good Korean food so I was really happy I found this place. Beef Bulgogi (mild): MASSIVE portion. Kimbap: Good amount! Could not finish! Roll itself seemed a little loose but still delicious Sides: wish I ate in so I could order more sides! All were yumm
google avatar

Dave A.

Yelp
Authentic Korean cuisine, my go to menu item is the spicy pork bulgogi it's really good. Service is always great!

Victor V.

Yelp
OMG! Everything about this Korean Restaurant is excellent, from how clean and neat is inside, the service and all the way to the amazing fresh food. Every dish is prepared at the moment.

Yelp
Came here with my wife for the first time. We ordered the kimchee soup with soft tofu, deep fried dumplings (mandoo), kimbap (beef sushi), and kimchee pancake. Every dish we ordered were delicious and highly recommended to order once. The dipping sauce is awesome and goes well with everything. The side dishes were all flavorful and an amazing compliment to the other food. Overall, the prices are very reasonable and the portions are decent. The staff are fast and friendly. They have a small parking lot and honestly, from the outside looking in, it doesn't look like a clean or good place to eat, but don't judge a book by it's cover for this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. They have lots of tables, tv for entertainment, and canned drinks. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop by again.

Yelp
The food couldn't be any better. Number one in Korean authentic food. Took me a while to find this place as it's in a strange location
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food. I'm so pleased to have found this place. We will definitely return. I happened to find this gem here on Yelp. It's a must try if you like Korean food and atmosphere.

Yelp
SCAM ALERT! My friends and I decided to enjoy cold noodles to beat the heat, and while the food was great, the billing experience was a huge disappointment. When I went to the front to pay as told by my server, they simply asked for my table number and my card--without showing me the bill first. After the transaction was completed, I noticed on the receipt that they had charged a POS provider fee which is about 3.8% of the total bill. There were no signs or warnings about this charge, and no one mentioned it during the payment process. When I called to ask about the fee, the manager told me it was "unavoidable" because of a new payment machine. Worse, they couldn't explain why the fee wasn't disclosed to customers and suggested I contact the machine provider myself! This lack of transparency is unacceptable. If you're dining here, watch out for hidden fees.

Yelp
I hate giving poor reviews but the owners need to read and try to improve. First I think I need to introduce this restaurant to some salt and spice . Korean food is traditionally full of flavor and umami. -Kimchi- I'm going to pick on this side dish only because kimchi is the lifeblood of Korean food. bland-and the cabbage wasn't properly wilted with salt. There are fresh versions you can do without the fermenting process but that even said, no. Just no. The bulgogi. Not pictured was the most decent thing there-tender, but still missing something in the marinade. -The kimchi tofu soup- sigh. Where is the kimchi? Bland, no spice. I might have spotted some tiny cut up pieces of cabbage. Uhm did they use just water for the broth base?! The lady came over when she saw that most of the soup was untouched. To her credit, she took a few dollars off the soup. Nice lady, Yakult at the end and the stir fried fish cake was good,(burnt). And got barley tea-hot- this was good- hence the 2 stars I was going to get something to go for my son but couldn't subject him to it. We left and went next door to the Seoul Korean Grill. -to go -so no clue if it's good or not. Lastly-the owners of this establishment must know that there is a TERRIBLE smell emanating from somewhere. We should have left right then buttttt, ‍

Yelp
I've been coming here off and on since 2011. This is my first time back in over 5 years. I feel like they've had a glow up! The restaurant is clean, updated, and fresher feeling. The staff is still very sweet and attentive. Most importantly, the food is still amazing! Very fresh, tastes great, good portions and is reasonably priced. Can't ask for more than that. There are a few other Korean restaurants in the area, but this is the one I come back to time and again. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Best pork bulgogi in town. I've been to several places around the country and have not found anything that has this much flavor. The steamed and fried mandu are good. Fried shrimp is another favorite. Over the years I have tried the chicken teriyak, hot pot beef bulgogi and chicken bulgogi but my favorite is always the pork bulgogi I can honestly say, anything you order will be good and keep you coming back
google avatar

Gwyneth H.

Yelp
For us plentiful for sure. You will not leave hungry. I love the fried rice and the beef ribs. Amazing.
google avatar

Austen A.

Yelp
We went during the last hour of operation on a Friday. The waiter was cool, talkative, and relatable. The food was delicious. I got a bulgogi plate at the spiciest they offer. It wasn't a scary spicy which was nice. Just enough to kick the taste buds while still allowing you to enjoy your meal. I also tried the seafood ramen special they had, which was average. I'll save the ramen for an actual ramen spot.
google avatar

Warnero Y.

Yelp
If you want authentic Korean cuisine, this is the place. I used to be stationed in Korea and this is the closest Korean food. I ordered the Pork Bulgogi and it's tasted great. Service was fast and kind. This is my new favorite spot in San Antonio.
google avatar

Carmen L.

Yelp
I have frequented this restaurant many times for lunch because I worked close by and loved the food.

Brylle R.

Yelp
Food was delicious. The staff there, especially the old lady, was very accommodating to my friends and I! The servings were definitely worth the price and it arrived quick as well! Definitely a go to spot whether you're alone or with friends. The place was clean and presentable and made it able to eat.

Yelp
Food was delicious, Service was wonderful, Ambience was so beautiful. Will definitely go back again

Devyani T.

Yelp
Their food is absolutely delicious and the staff is very friendly. Even though it's far from our house, we love to go there frequently. My mom and I are vegetarian and we love getting tteobokki, hot stone bibimbap, and barley tea. It also comes with yummy side dishes. Restaurant makes tteobokki without fish cake, and bibimbap without egg based on our request, which we really appreciate. This is a hidden gem. Highly recommend trying this restaurant.
google avatar

Katina J.

Yelp
Delicious, traditional Korean cuisine at its finest! Even with a short staff, Koreana stands out above other Korean restaurants. The service was kind and attentive, the food was absolutely amazing. My hubby came to this end of town to grab lunch with me (since I had to go in to the office today). I had the Chicken BiBimBap and he had Beef Short Ribs. We also decided on an order of egg rolls for appetizer. The jasmine tea was so tasty. Thank you all for facilitating our wonderful lunch date today!
google avatar

Yelp
The first thing to hit you when you walk in is that putrid smell. Yeah, its probably kimchi, which I love, but if it is literally making me gag, that's not a winning point. Food was okay, but this rating is based on the attitudes of the staff, & the 60% "tip" they charged myself & my coworkers. Yeah, 60%!!!! We went for a coworkers bday. Each of us were okay with our food, but everyone had something to say about how incredibly rude the woman that took our order was. She snapped at three peoole when they asked simple & legit questions about their food as they ordered. When she brought our food, she plopped down the plates/bowls. She reached in front of & over others to plop down others food. I had Bibimap, & it was mediocre at best. Other dishes were alright, but I'll never darken their doorway again!
google avatar

Andy Y.

Yelp
Hidden in a sparsely occupied business center in what could be San Antonio's mini k-town, the food here is tasty and as authentic as can be. Priced fair and gives healthy sized portions. Hopefully dining in would be an option next time so I can try some of the soup options. Definitely a recommend

Victor R.

Yelp
Ladies rude as hell and where begging for tip when they weren't even attending properly they get upset if you don't tip btw
google avatar

Jasmine B.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice, had a very homey feel with Korean pop groups on the television. Staff was very nice and prompt with service. Food was lacking to say the least. Everything was just bland, no flavor and disappointing. Bland is not a word I usually use to describe Korean cuisine. I had the seafood tofu soup and my mother has the kimchi stew with pork. Both soups were watery and again, lacking in flavor. The cucumber kimchi had an odd after taste so we didn't eat it all, which is odd for us. The seafood in my soup was lackluster, salad shrimp, a few octopus tentacles and 2 clams does not make a "seafood" soup in my opinion. I'll give it another try and order something different if we are in that part of town again.

Yelp
Alright , so the wifey wanted Galbi Tang soup and this would be our first time trying a Korean Restaurant here in San Antonio. We've been to numerous Korean restaurants in California so we would know if the food is as delicious/authentic. I was weary of going here because of the low reviews, but the majority of it is because of customer service. Im ordering takeout so it wouldn't bother me so. On just the phone order alone, I know customer service is lacking. I called, gave them the order, and immediately after they said "thank you bye." You don't need my information??? ‍ Went over there, she took my order and said 10 minutes. Price is average for Korean dishes. Korean dishes are a bit pricier than other food. No matter how polite I was, Lady was definitely not having a good day. NOW the food..Food is actually pretty good!! Galbi Tang was on point and the Galbi plate I had was better than average. Now whether it's a language barrier or slowly coming back to normalcy, I highly suggest later to hire a waiter/waitress that has good customer service and make dine-in people feel welcomed, and takes phone orders properly and politely, and all reviews from that point should all be 4 & up!

N H.

Yelp
First time back in years. New management. I like that they blocked out the windows. Kimchi was enjoyable. None of that mayonnaise stuff. I wanted to buy some to go. LA Galbi and spicy pork bulgogi were delicious. Wasn't as spicy as I expected, but was flavorful. We ate half the main courses and took it home. Ate it for dinner the next dat. The LA Galbi and spicy pork bulgogi were delicious straight out of the fridge. Looking forward to try other dishes next time. JaJiang Myun (black bean noodles) sounds good.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
As a Korean born and raised in Hawaii and spoiled by mom's home cooking, my bar is set pretty high as far as how Korean should or should not taste. I try not to let my standards give biases. I had the LA Kalbi and Spicy rice cake. LA Kalbi was pretty standard, can't really mess it up, unless you burn it. I enjoyed it. Spicy rice cake had lots of gochu sauce, probably the only thing that hindered five stars. I'll be back to try one of their stews, if the stews pass, they deserve the fifth star.

Bailey C.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday last year I've been looking for it again the food is delicious.
google avatar

Sandrine M.

Yelp
What can I say to emphasize how delicious the food is? The food is excellent. The service is great. I can't wait to go back. I might just go for dinner tonight!

Samuel P.

Yelp
Pretty darn good. Everything was spot on, and the service was fast and friendly. We got there late and they still served us. We ordered galbi, and regular and spicy bulgogi
google avatar

Angelique L.

Yelp
When I first met my husband this was the first Korean place he took me to and I've been in love ever since. Everything is always perfect, no complaints

Yelp
Love the food sm it was my first time going to a korean restaurant and eating i loved the food . me and my bf went on a date here yesterday the plates are huge btw we had to take leftovers so yummy though. the server is so sweet and kind. will be coming back !!

Fanja R.

Yelp
The food was okay. I recommend the LA galbi, but I found the stone bowl a little less savory. Otherwise, their service was fast.

Yelp
Saturday 630pm Opinion on Koreana is split among my Korean friends - half hail Koreana as the authentic Korean restaurant near post, the other half are so disappointed they swear they will never go back. On the day we went the restaurant was not packed and we were able to be seated almost right away. The server is a Korean speaking, English speaking lad who delivers jokes with a dead pan. Eventually you just take whatever he says with increasing amounts of discernment and joke back. The barley tea and the desert drink are winners at Koreana! I enjoyed the banchan a bit more than my not-enough-flavor kimchi soondobu. In fact I piled the banchan into my soondobu to give it more flavor. The kimchi fried rice was pretty awesome and was the only dish finished at the table. The rest of our table ordered beef, chicken, bibimbap and hot bibimbap. Parking is free but can get sparse. I recommend carpooling rather than having everyone bring in their own cars.

Alex G.

Yelp
Easily one of, if not the best Korean restaurant in SA! Their lunch specials are incredible; affordable and come with more than enough food. Their pork and beef bulgogi are both great. Their short ribs, even better! Not to mention the host and waitresses are always very kind and helpful. Don't let the outside appearance of the strip discourage you! It's nice and cozy inside. Would come every month if I didn't live so far away!
google avatar

Sean L.

Yelp
Outstandingly great Korean food and sides, served quickly. I look forward to coming back.

Lee D.

Yelp
Everything was so amazing and delicious the server was so nice, the food tasted so good they even Gave us Yakult after I love this place
google avatar

Marlon T.

Yelp
Look, I know it's San Antonio, so what could I expect at any Asian restaurant? This place was not good at all and I don't recommend it unless Korean food is the only thing you eat. The service sucks, the food tastes like it might've been frozen, and it smells old/moldy in there. To make things even worse, they charge a lot for meat that doesn't seem fresh. You could get a way better/cheaper Korean meal just buying something from the store and preparing it yourself.
google avatar

THomas P.

Yelp
The one star review is for the 18% tax add that was not mentioned before hand. My husband and I had two meals. One meal was 8.99 and the other was 9.99. Left a 5.00 tip and the 18% came Out to 4.50. How the total came to be $36.76 I have no idea. I have read other reviews about this restaurant adding hidden charges before.

Nathan B.

Yelp
Absolute gem of a restaurant. Staff was super nice and attentive, the food came super quick, and every bit of it was delicious. I highly recommend Koreana for anyone looking for the best Korean food in town
