"This vegetarian spot that serves Middle Eastern street food has been a fixture at many farmers markets and events around town. Now it has a permanent space in Ballard. Tonight we tried Koshari(located in Salt&Sugar). It was so delicious and amazing service. We had Turkish coffee while we waited for our takeout food. Our takeout was delicious and flavorful (and everything was labeled so well for constructing at home)! 100% recommend.

Got take out and was blown away. Really amazing Koshari and lentil soup. Food is very high quality and warms the soul! Would recommend to everyone. Also - not pictured - but the pita chips were incredible and freshly made

Super cute restaurant, the food left me wanting more! Ordered the koshari bowl, rice pudding, and Turkish coffee—all to die for! Amani and Ayman are so sweet and welcoming, definitely will be coming again!

The best and most authentic Koshary I've ever had outside of Egypt!!!! One bite and I felt like I was back in Cairo, eating my favorite dish. Absolutely packed with flavor, this national dish of Egypt is completely vegan and super nutritious. The restaurant is run by a lovely family, we had a wonderful time chatting with them. The portions are huge and priced very reasonably. We also tried the Hummus and it was fantastic. I'm telling all my friends about this place and pretty sure I'm going to become a regular here. 100/10

Wow. Best new-to-us spot I've had in awhile! It was so good, so tasty, so comfy ,and so nourishing. If I lived in Ballard, it would definitely be my go to spot. The portions are generous. My favorite was the koshari, and my partner's was the fattit hummus bowl. We also got a side of a dip with chickpeas and eggplant that came with an amazing puffy pita. Also, some of the vegetarian items can be made vegan by having them use plant based yogurt. Beyond that, it is really nice to find a place that serves food that feels nourishing and not greasy and salty. The family is very friendly and so helpful to help us know what is vegan or can be made vegan.

You got to check this place out! It's a very unassuming and exceptionally tasty restaurant that takes over the Salt & Sugar space in the evening. The owners are extremely warm and friendly, giving the place a home-cooked vibe. They introduced us to many Egyptian and Lebanese dishes. I really enjoyed the Lebanese Fattit Hummus Bowl, which they made with an alternative vegan-friendly yogurt and the homemade hot sauce. 🤤

It was my first time trying Egyptian cuisine and it blew my mind! Ordered Koshari and Rice pudding. Both were amazing. The owners were very friendly and kind. They even gave me Sahalab (a house specialty drink that they are yet to introduce) on the house and it was really good. Would definitely recommend to everyone and revisit myself too. The restaurant is in the same place as Salt and Sugar Cafe so just head in there when they are open.

Tried the Lebanese Fetit Hummus and Koshari Bowl, they were both delicious! The Fetit Hummus was unique! The Sahlab is unlike I have ever eaten, and so delicious and comforting! The restaurant owners seemed really nice!

Yelp
Homemade freshness and taste that comforts you on a cold winter day. We got the lentil soup - it came with fresh pita chips. I make lentil soups all the time but this had a different ingredient (perhaps dried mint?) that elevated the taste to a next level! The chips are fresh - not store bought, I usually stay away from too much fried stuff, but I ate all of those We also got the Koshari bowl (I forgot to take a picture) - the owner educated us regarding the history of this dish going back all the way to Indian sailors who got the Indian dish 'Khichidi' with them. The Indian 'khichidi' then got altered by the Egyptians along with the French/Italian colonial influences to give us the Koshari that they serve in the cfe. A hearty meal it is! And healthy too. They serve it with house made cumin-lime-jalapeno water and house made hot sauce that adds to the yumminess! I am glad we stopped by this place. We will be regulars :)

Yelp
Nothing negative to say! Really great flavorful food, friendly and quick service and an inviting space. The koshari and lentil soup were delicious and the rice pudding was my son's favorite! Worth a stop in for a quick dinner!

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place, it's inside a bakery called Salt & Sugar and open at 3pm. I tried the Koshari bowl, Spinach fatayer and Fattet Hummus and holy cow- I was blown away! So flavorful, fresh and healthy. The vinegar/garlic sauce and chili sauce for the koshari were amazing. Highly recommend!
