Kossar's Bagels & Bialys - Review - Upper West Side - New York - The Infatuation
"Kossar’s—NYC’s most famous bialy bakery—has a fifth location on the Upper West Side. They serve breakfast all day, in addition to bagels, wraps, and coffee.
We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

"A longtime bakery expanding with a fifth storefront in a former Pick-A-Bagel space; menu staples include bagels, sandwiches, and other breakfast items in a neighborhood bakery format." - Nadia Chaudhury
Consistently disappointed of this location. Specifically, the lack of cream cheese they put on any Bialey. Recently my bialey only had a small amount of cream cheese in its center. It's snowing outside and blocks away otherwise I would go back for a replacement

Stopped here for breakfast, everyone was really nice and service was quick! Lox bagel was good but a little light on cream cheese (although packed with all other toppings!)

Stopped for some bagel and to try the bialy. The baked goods are cold and not warmed up for you and they were basically rock hard it was really difficult to finish. Went in at breakfast time and there wasn’t a crowd or a line.

I’d asked for the everything bagels to be bagged with the bialys but there were not. They were packed with the pumpernickel and egg bagels. I specifically did not want to have pump bagels (sweet) with everything topping.

The ladies of Kossars are STELLAR. How nice to be greeted with such smiling and friendly faces everyday. Truly a pleasure walking in here unlike some other places you dread since you seem like a burden. Even when they are slammed still greeted with the same kindness. Only reason for one less star are the prices. So steep. Thank you for the amazing service always.

Arrived at 6:49pm, Google says closes at 7pm. Door was locked and shutdown procedure had started. Fresh goods remained and weren't available for sale.

Not it.
A bagel shouldn’t have to be toasted to be good. Clearly bagel wasn’t fresh :( texture felt too dry and chewy- missing the good balance between the crunchy outside and slightly fluffy inside. Wrap was also totally unsalted.
