The Best Cha Chaan Tengs In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"This Richmond cha chaan teng has two main draws: daily opening hours until midnight, and a lineup of hard-to-find Hong Kong desserts. Come after dinner with a small group and split bowls of black sesame-filled tong yuen, tofu fa with ginger syrup, and grass jelly. Savory dishes like fried wings and macaroni soup get the job done if you’re looking for a late-night snack, but dessert should be the priority here." - patrick wong, julia chen 1

The Best Late Night Restaurants In San Francisco - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Kowloon Tong has everything you need for a late-night meal: fried food and desserts. The Hong Kong-style cafe in the Richmond stays open until midnight daily serving a long list of crunchy-coated fowl and seafood. Order the popcorn chicken extra spicy, curry fishballs, and salt and hot pepper squid, as well as some of the otherwise hard-to-find Hong Kong desserts. We like to keep the fried streak going with crispy thick-cut toast with condensed milk and peanut butter. For something slightly less heavy, you could always get a bowl of black sesame tong yuen or the grass jelly with grapefruit and mango purees." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

The Best Asian Dessert Spots In SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Kowloon Tong in the Richmond has two things going for them: They’re open until midnight daily, and they serve an extensive list of hard-to-find Hong Kong-style desserts like tong yuen, tofu fa, and grass jelly—and they’re all delicious. Tong yuen are stretchy and chewy, tofu fa is custardy and served with a just-sweet-enough ginger syrup, and the grass jelly is firm and stands up to mounds of fresh fruits and ice cream. Crowds form after dinner every night. If you can’t bear a potential hour-long wait, order online and scurry in to grab your desserts before running home and back into your sweats." - julia chen 1, patrick wong, ricky rodriguez

Kowloon Tong Dessert Cafe Review - Richmond - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Kowloon Tong has two things going for it: the Hong Kong-style cafe is open until midnight every day, and there's an extensive list of hard-to-find desserts. Solid savory dishes—curry fishballs, salted egg yolk fries, and deep-fried chicken wings—certainly get the job done after 9pm, even if they won't have you racing into the kitchen to personally thank the chefs. But we prefer coming to this Richmond cafe after dinner with a group and divvying up Hong Kong staples like tong yuen, tofu fa, sweet sticky rice, and grass jelly, all of which are rare in the city. The glutinous rice balls are stretchy, chewy, and filled with black sesame, peanuts, or red bean, and the tofu fa is custardy and served with a just-sweet-enough ginger syrup. Order both. There’s plenty of seating inside where you can go to town, though if you can’t bear a potential hour-long wait, order online and take your dessert home." - Patrick Wong

How we even ended up here was a bit of a blur, but the fried tofu was absolutely hitting the spot. The sweets were nice too.

Updated 4/2/2025: Check your receipt. I realized Kowloon Tong Desserts didn't remove a tofu desert dish until I got home. They didn't have that dish available and I was charged for it. When I called the same night, the clerk refused to refund me over the phone and told me to come back. Today, I went back and a different crew was working. Luckily the clerk from the previous evening left a note. Still, what a waste of time for me to get a refund when they could have just done it electronically since I charged it on my Visa. Original review: Kowloon Tong desert cafe has been here since the 90s'? My friend lives up the block and I remember seeing people still in there when I drop him off after bar hopping. It is still the same. The place was filled tonight with people waiting for a table at 9:30pm. The food here is OK. Not the best. The thing that keeps people coming back is that they are open late if you want to have a place to chat after dinner. Good times.

Finally got a chance to try out this place. It is not the best but it didn't disappoint. We have the ice cream waffle sandwich, mango go go, popcorn chicken and curry fish ball. Food is decent. The service was attentive, brought us extra utensils and bowls ready for us to share food, Refilled our water without having to ask!

Crazy good desserts wow 10/10 Big enough to share good enough to get your own. Definitely coming back, we got Pan friend red bean gelatinous balls with crushed peanuts and a Rainbow fruit Bubble waffle sundae.

Google
a must visit if you’re looking for chinese desserts. so good, and open late.

Google
The Curry Calamari was a standout with its irresistible curry sauce that I couldn't help but dip my rice crepes into. The Beef Brisket with Rice Crepes, although enjoyable, left me wishing for a heartier beef portion. The Mixed Fruit in Ice Cream Waffle was a simple yet satisfying dessert, offering a medley of flavors in each bite.

Google
We got the Hong Kong milk tea, pork sandwich with fries, and papaya soy milk stewed dessert. The milk tea was lukewarm, which was a little disappointing. The pork sandwich was good, but the fries were way too oily. And the papaya soy milk dessert was just not worth $9 at all. Overall, a bit of a disappointing meal, I feel like there are much better HK style restaurants out there!

I've had this place bookmarked forever and finally made it here on a rainy evening & it was perfect! Arrived around 10pm with a few of my girls, and the wait wasn't too long, but the place was fully packed. We put our names on a list behind the door in the wall once you walk in and you wait. We ordered 2 hot desserts & one cold. Coconut sago, coconut black rice, and a Mango sago. They were delicious, that prefect amount of sweetness that want too much & more all of a hint to enhance the natural flavors. I'd highly recommend it if you want a dessert that isn't overly sweet. The only reason I have it a 4 star is because i had to rewipe the table with handsanitizer because it smelled like they wiped the table down with a rag that needed to be changed out 😮‍💨

Yelp
Been here multiple times as they are one of the only dessert spots open late in the city. Typical Hong Kong style dessert spot that serves both food and dessert. Nice hangout spot for those who like going out at nighttime.
google avatar

Yelp
Reliable spot open late with a variety of savory and sweet options. I ordered the strawberry sago, but I would recommend a mango sago instead. The strawberry sago may sometimes be unreliable depending on the taste of the strawberries. I also like that the mango sago contains coconut milk which gives it a creamy texture rather than icey (like the strawberry sago) There is a large amount of seating, but it does fill up fast (because it's one of the few late night dessert spots) It's hard to sometimes wave down a waiter, but they are usually pretty quick and attentive when you ask for something
google avatar

Yelp
Macaroni noodles soup, milk tea and mango sago were so good! Definitely will come back.

Yelp
Got the popcorn chicken and deep fried tofu to go and two HK milk teas for ~$20 during HH!! You get a free drink during happy hour if you order a snack off the menu. This was such a great deal and I will definitely be going back. The tofu was SUPER garlicky and well flavored - the popcorn chicken was good too! I would probably only come back for the HH pricing because I find that any snack over $10 feels way too pricey for me given the portion size.

Yelp
Kowloon Tong Dessert Cafe was not what I was hoping for, especially since my standards have risen after my trip to Hong Kong. I was craving a dessert soup after dinner nearby and shared the black sesame glutinous rice balls in hot almond paste. The paste was indeed thick but grainy and a bit too sweet. After each bite, I needed to wash down that mildly unpleasant claggy mouthfeel with the provided hot water, which I did appreciate. I definitely prefer this almond dessert as a thinner soup. The skin of the glutinous balls (tong yuan) was also too thick. The original popcorn chicken seasoning was a bit too sweet. I'm hesitant to come back, but I'd still like to try their egg puff waffle (gai dan jai).
google avatar

Yelp
Great casual dinner and desserts place that closes pretty late compared to other restaurants in this area. Whenever I craved glutinous rice balls filled with sesame, I come here. They seem to have a bit more variety here on HK-style snacks than other places. Although known more for desserts, they also have a limited savory menu. Located on 7th Ave between Geary and Clement.

Yelp
I came here several years ago, and I loved this place. I came back with a friend, and he decided to give it a try. We both loved it. The popcorn chicken is so tender, but they can be a lot more spicy for it to be called spicy popcorn chicken. Both desserts see good, I liked the red bean paste soup. It reminds me of my childhood. The mango sago is also good, but it's not out of the ordinary. The place is cute, and opens till midnight. You enter this place to feel nostalgia, and leave the place into the fog.

Yelp
I'm both a regular and a lover of Kowloon tong. Their menu is expansive, they're open late, service is quick, and the food is consistent. We came in on a Monday night, and it was very empty (so good for us). I ordered an iced Horlick, a macaroni soup, and a sesame balls in ginger soup. Horlick, fire, honestly can't mess that up. Macaroni soup was good, the egg was perfectly runny. But the soup was a bit too salty. Sesame balls were really good. Plump and soft. Ginger soup is also always a hit. I appreciated the chunks of ginger in there as well. Overall, this is a solid place. I don't think it's the best hk cafe in the city, but it's so consistent and convenient, i will continue to come here.

Yelp
Kowloon will always have a special place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. I remember the late nights with my cousins, driving all the way from across the city just to eat here. I loved their waffle sundae. I've revisited not too long ago on a weekend afternoon just to check out their happy hour menu from 5pm - 7pm everyday. they are known for their Hong Kong style snacks - particularly the popcorn chicken, curry fish balls, egg puffs, salt and pepper wings and pork chop, steamed rice crepes, and of course their other traditional desserts with fruit and sago. Service is always quick, and the food has never let me down. this place can get pretty packed on the weekends, especially around 10-11pm. However, there is absolutely no one when they open at 5pm. if you want to avoid crowds, I recommend coming for happy hour

Yelp
Hubs wanted a late night snack. I haven't been back to Kowloon Tong for years. First time for hubs and kiddo. Arrived on Saturday night and it was busy. Every table was taken when we left. Hubs ordered the salt and pepper tofu and chicken wings and fries. The tofu was piping hot and we liked the garlic and pepper topping. As for the chicken wings and fries - they arrived hot. Hubs said the chicken was crispy but bland. Kiddo ordered the instant noodles with egg and ham - like any other instant noodles - nothing special. I ordered the grass jelly shaved ice dessert. I thought it would come with fruit or other things on top. It was grass jelly over crunchy ice and topped with condensed milk - meh. For me, it was pricey for what you get.
google avatar

Eileen C.

Yelp
It's interesting that you can only pick one base for the build your own dessert, but we kindly asked the waiter and he said we can add one more topping for free. We ended up asking for the grass jelly, black rice, and sago (only paying $1 extra for the sago) with mango. It tasted pretty much like how I expected! The only thing I might dock half a star for is their grass jelly he a much firmer texture and much more medicinal flavor than I was used to. Other than that, it's a great dessert place to hang out at after dinner!

Yelp
We came to Kowloon Tong on a whim and were pleasantly surprised to find a bustling Hong-Kong style dessert cafe. The experience felt identical to cafes we visited in HK itself! The restaurant seemed to be a two man show, run by a father and son (perhaps?). Every single table was taken around 8PM on a weekend, so it seemed very popular. We tried the mango sago, which had plenty of ripe mango that was very sweet! The ice dessert was a great mix of textures from grass jelly, crunchy ice, and sweet red bean paste. The ginger milk curd was not really fully set, but I know how hard it is to execute. But, it tasted good with a heavy amount of spicy ginger! The translation of the menu is very rough so I would recommend Google translate if you are unsure what it is. I don't want to yuck anyone's yum. But, they had some dishes I wouldn't necessarily choose like some sort of frog dessert make of actual frog fat (said our translator!)

Yelp
Ambiance - Give me a classic / modern hong kong cafe vibe 4/5 Service - Server has always been very polite. There has been a few instance where i ordered some dessert before closing. They were still very nice to satisfied my order. 5/5 Food - 4/5 Snow Frog w Red Date Taste - Sweet but not too sweet / Smooth Texture. Snow frog gave me a glass noodle texture. Red dates earthy and soft Smell - Sweet Aroma Looks - Standard. Nothing Special Bird Nest w Fresh Milk Taste - Milky Smooth going into the mouth. slight odd texture after , from the simmer down bird nest stran. Smell - Sweet and Coconut Aroma Looks - Standard. Nothing Special Additonal Comment - This place is very unique. I have not yet found any place that has these type of Hong Kong style dessert. Most places have Mango Sago , Red Bean , or Black Seasme. But these Medicinal Grade Desserts not so much. When I was a child , my father would make these dessert for me to help me Lower Heat in my body because I eat a lot of fried foods. So this means a lot to me. After I had these dessert I did feel less fatigue the next day. Great health benefits.

Yelp
We have been here many times for decades and late into the closing hours. They are super understanding, and it is a safe spot with contactless payment. There is enough parking in the general vicinity too. They are super reliable. We come here for the comfort of familiar HK-style desserts! This review is finally written to encompass all of the countless times we have come here. We wanted HK-style milk tea, HK-style dinners, HK-style desserts, you name it! They got it! It is family-friendly and hits the nostalgia button for the HK old timers. You just want a place to chillax at night? This is the go-to place in the heart of the city - or close to it.
google avatar

Yelp
Starting with a few disclaimers: I came here 10 minutes before closing, and I'm no expert in HK dessert items; however, I had a great experience! It feels almost college how my sister and I were able to look up a dessert sport in SF that opens past 11 PM, drive there, park on the street right outside, and be served without feeling judged. We got take-out to not prolong our time inside, but we were out within six minutes of ordering. It was awesome. We ordered a mixed fruit mango puree sago, mango smoothie, and the salt and pepper fried tofu. All items were so yummy and hit the spot for a late night quick snack. I didn't grow up in SF, but this place feels homey and nice. The mood was perfect for just one of those nights. I'd come back.
google avatar

Yelp
Probably the best hong kong style dessert spot in the city or even bay area. They serve up very traditional style desserts just like back home. Its not fancy JUST FN TASTY! and thats all i care about. Followed with some yummy late night sew yea dishes to fill the belly cravings. Good old fashion noodles or chicken hit the spot also. Its open late and have take out. Seating maybe 15 tables so not to big. 5 stars all day long
google avatar

Yelp
Hong Kong dessert is the way to go. It's not too sweet, it's just right. Also, I just love anything mango related. Or tofu-ya related. Whaddya know, Kowloon Tong has both. So what did I do? We got both. Tofu ya with almond and sesame paste: it was different, I'm more used tofu ya with syrup so the paste was a little too thick for my liking. But same deal, good as it's also not too sweet. Super mango go go: my favorite dessert here since it's mango. Everything mango. Mango sago, mango pieces, mango ice cream. So all in all, solid dessert place that can also serve snacks or meals too if you're so inclined.

Yelp
There aren't to many Hong Kong style dessert places in the Bay Area and this is one of the few places that we like. We got Mango-Go-Go, Nutella French Toast, Avocado Smoothie, Deep fried soya tofu, and mango sago. Honestly the food is good but wasn't worth the price (This was $55, my bf went a little crazy and ordered a 3 out of the 5 desserts that we got). Definitely makes me want to go back to Asia and eat it there instead. I can get so much more for the price. Overall Rating: 7/10
google avatar

Andrea T.

Yelp
I came here recently and got the glutinous sesame ball with ginger soup. For Hong Kong style dessert, I've been having trouble finding a place that nails the taste. However, Kowloon Tong Dessert Café, impressed me. They delivered on what I had in my mind. Not too sweet, but sweet enough. Good portion size and not too expensive. The glutinous seasame ball with ginger soup was also not too spicy. Great job to them!
google avatar

Yelp
Came by late night on a weekday because we were craving something sweet. Surprisingly it was pretty popping considering the time. At first, we ordered the egg puff with ice cream, but decided we wanted more so we also got the mango sago! I really enjoyed the ice cream and the egg puff tasted way better than what I expected, which is why we went for a 2nd item haha. The food also came out pretty quickly. Not sure what the vibes would be like earlier in the day, but I think it's a good late night spot with friends!
google avatar

Michelle J.

Yelp
My auntie took us here after dinner for some dessert. I got Mango Sago with glutinous rice balls . Mango chunks were sweet and came with a lot of sago and rice balls. Would return if I was in the area. We quickly got a table as a party of 6.
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
I came here after seeing that they took card and was opened pretty late. I had a big craving for mango sago and was looking forward to trying the desserts here. The cafe itself had plenty of seating and even thought it was relatively packed, we were seated immediately. I ordered the mango go go I believe, which was the mango sago with grapefruit pieces and the mango at this cafe was very good. They had big chunks of sweet and yummy mango, with plenty of sago to go with it. Definitely one of the better mango sagos I have had in SF. The cafe also offered plenty of other foods as the menu was so big it was hard to pick what I wanted. The hot food also looked delicious, so I would have to come back and try the other items on the menu.

Yelp
This place is OG. My favorite cold fruit desserts, egg puffs, and steamed rice crepes.

Yelp
Been coming here ever since I was in high school, and nearly two decades later, it's pretty much the same. They did stop giving out free stuff for check-ins, and they use a QR scanner for the menu, but that old school charm hasn't changed. They serve mostly classic HK cafe food - macaroni/ramen soup, HK toast, lemon tea, and so on. You can also get desserts such as ice cream, boba, smoothies, snow frog, grass/turtle jelly, mango/almond jelly and sago. I'd recommend the ice cream waffle. The main draw is that they're open most of the day and night, so you can basically come here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or midnight snack.
google avatar

Nila G.

Yelp
GET THEIR MANGO SAGO!! Even though the mangos were not in season - this was by far the sweetest mango I've ever had. The sago itself was perfect with a slight coconutty taste and it isn't too sweet! Perfect for my taste. The almond paste with red bean was on the sweeter side but if you are craving something warm, its still a decent choice. Would come again for late night girl chats!
google avatar

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night to get some Hong Kong dessert and it did not disappoint. They have a vast menu from food to dessert. Stepping inside you can tell this place is where locals and teens like to go. It's not your typically glitzy Instagram spot. The service is typical HK style restaurant where you should know what you want by the time you get your table so you can immediately order with your waiter there or you will be waiting forever for them to come back. The place is small and cramped too. It was super busy and I waited 40 mins for my food. They had two servers running around the tiny restaurant so service is slow. I ordered the papaya tong sui with white snow fungus and sesame balls with peanut dusting while my husband ordered macaroni with chicken wings. Macaroni - 3/10 bland but the chicken wings that came with the macaroni combo, 8.5/10. They saved the dish. It was crispy and hot, fried with garlic and jalapeños. Papaya tong sui with snow fungus- 8.5/10 it hit the spot. It reminds me of the tong sui you get after a Chinese dinner. It wasn't too sweet and the papaya was nice and soft. Sesame Balls with Peanuts - 9/10. You get a few warm white mochi balls filled with sesame paste smothered in peanut, coconut dusting. It was so yummy I wish I ordered another.

Yelp
This takes me back to Hong Kong. Very quick and simple cha chaa tang food. Parking is a bit hard sometimes but if you don't mind feeding the meter, then it shouldn't be that hard. They open around 5pm and it's quite empty with a few tables filling up. I went once late night and it was so packed - I think it's one of the few places that still open late night. They have a decently priced menu and meal option. My favorite time to go is during happy hour, cheaper food with a drink included. Milk tea - tastes just like HK style milk tea, very creamy and smooth Salt & pepper tofu - a bit oily but still really delicious
google avatar

Judy W.

Yelp
We got seated right away but there was a line after us. We ordered 2 black sesame with rice balls. It seemed like they used powder and it wasn't mixed well. There is some chunky powder that hasn't mixed yet. It tasted a bit weird and watered down. I always get black sesame at Asian dessert places. Their fries were good and also their popcorn chine was also good. We also got the mix fruit grass jelly and that was also good. It not suitable for groups of 6 since they mostly had like tables for 4. Friendly staffs but they were busy so after your first order, you're mostly not be able to order more unless you wait for a pretty long time.
google avatar

Bethany P.

Yelp
The Thai tea is good and the banana split was delicious. But the waffle cone ice cream sandwich was the star of the show. The waffle cone was warm and fresh. The service was good and friendly. The restaurant was clean and cute. We enjoyed it. It was indulgent though.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Kowloon Tong is a hidden gem for Asian desserts! I recently indulged in their ice cream waffle sundae paired with a refreshing tea, and it was absolute perfection. The waffle was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and topped with creamy, flavorful ice cream and a decadent array of toppings. The tea complemented the sweetness perfectly, creating a delightful balance of flavors. The cafe's ambiance is cozy and inviting, ideal for unwinding and enjoying a sweet treat. The service is exceptional, with staff who are knowledgeable and passionate about their desserts. If you're in the mood for a unique and satisfying dessert experience, Kowloon Tong is the place to be. Five stars without a doubt!

Yelp
Food was good. We had eggettes with black sesame (they put sesame on top of each; never had it that way before), fries (crispy and large portion), Nutella French toast (it was just ok - needed more Nutella), soy milk (unsweetened- they know what they are doing), lemon tea and ovaltine. Overall pleasantly surprised (we are from the peninsula so relatively speaking these are really good food). Very crowded though. Minimal service (not complaining). Clean enough bathroom. I would come again if the wait is short.

Yelp
This is an iconic Cantonese dessert spot in the Richmond district that opens till very late at night. They have all the classics like egg puff, waffles, popcorn chicken, mango sago. At night, they're popping but not super busy and we got seated right away. Food: 3/5. We got the mango sago and sesame balls. The mango sago is averagely good -- the mango was still a bit unripe. The dessert is not too sweet, just the way I like it. Service: 3.5/5. No wait when we got there on a Friday night. The food came out quite quickly and the service is speedy. They are very generous with how long people can stay and didn't rush us into paying although they were a bit busy.

Yelp
Kowloon Tong Dessert Cafe was the only place open for a late night bite. We were all tired and hungry from a busy day and so we were hoping to get a decent meal. However, upon tasting each and everyone's different order, we came to the conclusion that the food is okay. To their defense, they are more known for their desserts rather than food itself. My boyfriend also found a hairnin his soup and once we let the staff know, they gladly changed his order right away which we really appreciated.

Yelp
Kowloon sells a lot of Chinese/Hong Kong savory snacks and desserts, equivalent to Golden Island but in the Richmond. I would say most items are reasonably priced ($5-10). I believe they're open pretty late on certain nights as we came here around 10PM and there was no wait. We ordered the: *spicy popcorn chicken (didn't taste spicy at all, but the chicken had a good crispy fry to it) *mango sago *mango go-go *super mango pudding: the mango pudding and mango ice cream in this was so good! Definitely a must try item *super b kid grass jelly This is the spot to come to if you're in the mood for some late-night snacks or desserts!

Yelp
I love this place I stop by when I'm working graves they close at midnight! This place has refreshing dessert if you feel like some fresh fruit mixed dessert that's not too sweet. Try the mango sago, or the super mango pudding. Both are the best!!!

Yelp
Came here for dessert around 8:30pm and I love how there is so much variety on Hong Kong snacks/food/dessert. It's usually pretty busy although there will be 1-2 tables that are up for grabs. Although we came for dessert, can't help but to look at the food menu as well. Very typical hk cafe style food. Will definitely try to come for a meal next time. Service is fast and food comes out fast as well. Thai time we tried the ice cream waffle sandwich, egg puff, mango sago, and mango madness. Ice cream waffle sandwich 5/5: live the crispiness of the waffle and it's still warm! The ice cream in between has a good amount and the vanilla ice cream is really creamy and good as well. Egg puff 3/5: the batter was okay. I would like it to be a tad sweeter and it also looked a little overdone, but it is crispy on the outside. Mango sago 4/5: love the giant mango chunks on top. The coconut milk goes well with this dessert as well Mango madness 4/5: fruit chunks on top of mango ice cream. The mango flavor on the ice cream was really good and has little chunks of mango as well. Great spot for dessert! Will have to try the food next time!

Yelp
What a neighborhood gem! Large menu with all kind of options. Food is delicious and authentic. Sitting area is clean and comfortable. Service is fast. We have been back twice and will continue to go back. Love it!

Yelp
The have the best salt and pepper pork chops I've ever had from any Chinese restaurant. Holy shit. Must try. It's super garlicky, raw green onions on top, the pork chops are tender and big and it's not battered so it's keto friendly. I love to order them so much when I'm drunk. Can't describe how much I love them. You are missing out if you don't try it. The mixed grill is pretty good too, I think the beef steak tastes the best, but they are all good. The only slight problem is the pasta is pretty dry and sauce-less. But I'm not really complaining. Milk tea is not bad either. A combo of milk tea and salt and pepper pork chops would be my go to late night munchies.

Yelp
This place has so many Hong Kong style foods! I have to come back here with a big group so that I can order a lot of items next time. Love that it's open late

Yelp
This review is specifically for the dessert. If you want traditional Hong Kong style dessert, this is your spot. I got the mango with gelatinous balls, which is basically mango slices and rice balls mixed into a creamy sweet coconut milk. It's simple and classic. Their fruit smoothies, juices and milkshakes are also bomb. We ended up trying the garlic fries and they did not disappoint! They're open late as well, until midnight. This is going to be my new go-to late night hang out spot in Outer Richmond.

Yelp
Seat yourself when you see an available table. Gets very busy as it's a very popular go to spot! At the time of visit, there was only 1 server for the entire restaurant. So be ready to order when it's your turn lol $8.95 Mixed Fruit Watermelon Puree Could have had it with no coconut milk, but still not bad. $8.95 Mango Sago This was delicious and really like how the mango and coconut milk complimented each other $9.95 Salted Fried Tofu Salty, spicy crispy goodness! Definitely was good choice as a snack for 2. Definitely will be the late night go to spot for sweets and small bites!

Yelp
We came in during happy hour from 5-7. During happy hour you get a free drink, we tried the milk tea, coffee & tea combo, lemon tea, root beer float, and hot soy milk. The root beer float and hot soy milk were the best out of the drinks we tried. The guy taking our order was super cool and helpful. We ordered food first. And after we were done with that we ordered dessert and it was fast and helpful. Snacks were all pretty good too. We tried the fried chicken wings and fries (there's only two chicken wings though) it was very tasty. I really liked the popcorn chicken too, but I usually order it mild and it was great for me. We ordered the macaroni with soup and the rice noodle plate, the kids ate all of it so it has their approval. We somehow found room for dessert. We tried the waffle with ice cream, the mango with jelly and an order of egg puff. It was all great.

Yelp
This place is a classic and authentic HK cafe in SF. It has hole in the wall vibes but feels very home-y. First of all, you're served hot water instead of ice water! The food might seem mediocre to some but it hits the spot. All of the desserts are "not too sweet" and definitely taste home-made. The portions are a bit smaller than what I am used to but still worth it! Recommend getting the egg puffs, black sticky rice, and glutinous rice balls!

Yelp
The food is straight up garbage, it wasn't like this few years ago, how can u fk up a HK style milk tea, the milk tea texture feels like glue, and put sesame sauce into curry fish ball? Bet the amigos in the back of the kitchen doesn't know how to read English, me and my friends having very serious food poisoning when we got home, 100% reporting to health department.

Yelp
We stopped by Kowloon for some late night dessert on Wednesday and were seated right away. The cafe was nice and quiet. We ordered one mango sago ($7) and one black sesame almond paste with tanyuan ($7). I really wanted the hot tofu fa but it's only available on Friday and Saturdays. The items came out quickly and they were delicious. My mangos was sweet/ripe, soft, and filled up the entire bowl. The sago was not too sweet and balanced out the entire dessert. I finished my bowl in less than 3 minutes. My fiancé got the sesame almond paste and he said the tanyuan was really soft and chewy. It was a little taste of HK. You can pay via credit card or venmo. We will be back again for late-night dessert! We love that it closes at midnight.

Yelp
I've had the mango a go go twice this week. Amazing both times. The mango is so sweet and ripe. Great portions. Always very quick service. and both times, they packed utensils without me having to ask (its an s.f thing, must ask). Oreo puffs will be next, along with the ham and noodles.

Yelp
Great selection of HK desserts. They have traditional and fusion desserts. Service was surprisingly attentive. The place could be cleaner. If I'm in the area and feeling like desserts. Would come again.

Yelp
A bustling Hong Kong dessert cafe. Came here for a late night snack, and it's still pretty packed after dark. Good to grab a quick bite. It's that classic asian dining experience with the old menus, crusty gotcha machines, and busy service. There's a great variety of menu items here. In the end, we got the mango sago, curry fish balls, and red bean milk tea. Took a while for our orders to come, but they were all pretty good: Mango sago: 9/10 Chewy sago pearls in creamy coconut sauce, not too sweet. Mango slices were fresh and juicy. My favorite! Curry fish balls: 7/10 The sauce is oily, but still flavorful and tasty. Curry has an earthy rich spice. Just does not look the most appetizing. Red bean milk tea: 7/10 A solid milk tea with a sweet, subtle red bean taste.
