When you're on the Cape, you've got to get some whole belly clams. After a little investigation we found that this place continuously wins awards for it's fried food. We decided to get the 3 item Seafood Plate with oysters, clam strips and whole belly clams. It did not disappoint. This pile of food was delivered to our table with perfectly cooked onion rings on top. What a great start. Everything was cooked perfectly. This kind of seafood can be overcooked in 30 seconds, but they deliver it perfectly every time. BTW, the Cole slaw was the correct mix of sugar and mayo, just right. The tartar sauce was flavorful also, but you'll hardly need any! If you're in the area and have a hankering for some delicious perfectly cooked and seasoned seafood, you'll be doing yourself a favor and stop in.

I have visited nearly every fried seafood restaurant on the Cape. I finally got to this one and am very glad that I did. This is a top quality, quick service seafood restaurant. We tried the clam strips, fried oysters and onion rings. All were top of the line delicious and not dripping of oil. The service is excellent, ordering to delivery. This is a spacious restaurant with seating inside and outside. We enjoyed the visit and the diverse flavors of soft serve ice cream. We will definitely be back soon.

UPDATE: 06/28/2025 Angelo, the manager, really came through for us and, on top of sending us a check to compensate for the disappointing lobster roll, issued a gift certificate for our next visit. Thank you, Angelo! I am changing my original score to four stars. MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: 06/17/2025 I had expected a delicious meal, given all the good reviews for this restaurant, but I was bitterly disappointed. The lobster meat in my lobster roll smelled funky and tasted even worse. It was definitely not fresh. I ended up discarding it. This was by far my worst dining experience in Cape Cod. Avoid this place.

When I first came in I informed the cashier I have a gluten allergy, since I was one of the first the made my food first to not contaminate the kitchen, on top of that, the cashier was lovely to speak with, no attitude, no issues, no reason not to come!

Awesome all the way around! Excellent service, onion rings & seafood are delicious! The bathrooms are very clean and smell fresh

Kream N Kone is always on our must stop place when in town. The food is great and the portions are large enough to share. The service is fast and staff are friendly. They have plenty of indoor seating and some tables outside. The kids enjoy the fried chicken platter. Husband and I usually split a 3 item plate - we always get shrimp, clams, and calamari. The 3 item plate also comes with fries, onion rings, and Cole slaw - so it is plenty to share! Plenty of parking available too.

Always our favorite place for clam strips on the Cape. This year it was our first stop and it did not disappoint.

Google
Overall not a bad place to dine with a Family of 5. The atmosphere inside is a bit more relaxed and kid friendly than some places. Seat yourself after placing an order with a mini table flag for your order #. We opted to eat outside for the sun and view of the bass river and nature. My daughter enjoyed her 1/3 lb burger, whereas I found my 1/2 lb burger to be very densely formed and medium (maybe the patties are preformed at purchase). Wife ordered the tenders plate and substituted Onion Rings - highly recommended the Onion Rings as they were thinly sliced and well cooked/seasoned. The tenders were average. My other 2 kids both ordered hot dogs - can’t go wrong with that. I was amazed by how fast the food came out as the place seemed super busy on a Saturday. They also have free water from a dispenser - may need to ask for a cup. Bathrooms weren’t anything to write home about.

Yelp
Update: 06/06/25 Whenever I am on the Cape. Kream & Kone is my favorite place to enjoy the freshest, tastiest seafood on the Cape. The restaurant is family style, unpretentious, laid back atmosphere. Come as casual as you choose. I wanted shrimp, my family wanted haddock. We agreed that the fish must have been caught this morning because the taste was extraordinary! We were too stuffed to have a cone after dinner, so we opted to enjoy the atmosphere. Jo Jo assisted with our order, and she is a true gem! Always happy, warm, friendly, and inviting. Each time we visit the restaurant, Jo Jo just makes our visit even more special. Definitely check out Kream & Kone.

Yelp
Great seafood and other fried food! On the expensive side at $127 for three people but really that is the going rate for lobster rolls, fried clams whole belly, and sides. Also a glass of wine and 2 sodas. Would go back, ambience not so great but you can sit outside

Yelp
My favorite seafood restaurant in the world. I love their fried clams, scallops and onion rings. We travel to Cape Cod at least once per year and make it a point to visit Kreme n Kone a few times while we are there. I have been going there since 1971 when I was on the Police Department in Dennis.

Yelp
The food was enjoyable, and the service was prompt. The restaurant had a casual, fast-food vibe with a focus on fried seafood.

Susan S.

Yelp
With its name I probably would have driven right by. Its name suggests ice cream. But, oh my, maybe it does serve ice cream, but it is clearly seafood all the way. Have never ever had better fried clam bellies than I ate there. Very very busy. Be prepared to wait a bit, but it is well worth the short wait.

Yelp
Kream n Kone is a staple on the cape! Service is always super friendly, fast, and great to either dine in or bring to the beach!

Yelp
Great clams best clams around Nice easy place to eat Worth the drive from upper cape I will go again and again

Yelp
Food was good and hot and fresh.. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table.. Not a lot of people yet.. Still very early in the season.. Nice and clean I noticed when others got Yo from there tables the staff came over and cleaned and vac immediately... Yes we will be back again

Charlotte F.

Yelp
The food is very good, have not found better seafood than this on Cape. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean and has an efficient ordering process, and when your order is ready, they deliver it to your table. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Good stop in Dennis for lunch or a meal with a big group. The menu highlights fried seafood and summertime classics- burgers, sandwiches, etc. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and my husband ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. There was a decent selection of bottled beers, so we each ordered one. There is a big dining room and an outdoor porch. We sat outside and enjoyed a partial marsh view. The prices were very fair here and service to your table was quick (you get a number to place on your table). I would return here for a quick, casual lunch again in the future. This could also be a good option for a family with picky eaters or people on a budget.

Yelp
Stopped in for some scallops and decided on two way with clams plate ... was a lot of food a lot of sea scallops and huge, very fresh scallops... moist places skimp on scallops as price per pound under Bidenomics inflation . Clams a lot too... ton of onion rings and fries Really two meals and 30 bucks reasonable. All was a little greasy compared to my Ipswich Ma JT Farnham's Offered complementary water dispenser which most were using... That is nice gesture ... but I was committed already to my Yeungling beer... tons of seating I should have ordered the broiled scallops as lady next to me ordered .... The tarter sauce was bland tasting... needs a kick up notch like Ceal's tarter at their clam spot The moist and tenderness of scallops were some best I have had ... 5 stars, but greasiness gives it a 4 .

Yelp
My husband and I went today for the first time, 2 clam chowders EXCELLENT, 1 fried clam plate, EXCELLENT! Above all the workers were friendly, professional and pleasant! Facility was very clean and prices reasonable, we will be returning very soon!

Yelp
Heard Kream N Kone is Cape Cod famous so had to stop when we were in Dennis! Was a little disappointed they didn't have much outdoor seating and there didn't seem to be a way to access it without going thru the restaurant. Since we had our dog, we decided to take it to go. Ordered 2 lobster rolls & ice cream, of course! Honestly, the ice cream was better than our meal. Good thing we weren't starving because this lobster roll was on the small side and didn't come with any sides - no chips, coleslaw... nada. It was also a bit fishy on the first bite, which I didn't like. And it looked like it had more lettuce than lobster... Overall, it was good but definitely wouldnt order again compared to other rolls we've tried on the Cape. Would definitely go for the fried seafood instead. And was told by a friend we missed out by not ordering their onion rings! The ice cream though... amazing!! I got a classic vanilla soft serve with hot fudge and it was perfect! My hubs ordered a coffee soft serve and it was made right in front of him! They added coffee syrup right to the vanilla soft serve! So cool!

Yelp
Meh. Growing up in Massachusetts and summering on the Cape every year (yes, "on the Cape, that's how you know), I may have grown into a bit of a seafood snob. Not expecting ambiance in any clam shack and Kreme N Kone met all the minimums. Clean, well staffed, lots of selections, and a separate soft serve line. All good. Ordered clam strips roll, whole clam plate, and chicken tenders. The meals came fast and portions huge. Unfortunately, and maybe because we came later on a holiday weekend, the oil was tired. Food was lacking in fresh flavor and sat pretty heavy. None of us finished our meals nor felt like any ice cream after. Not terrible, but there are plenty of others on the Cape with better quality.

Yelp
My family could not rave enough about the clam chowder, three pints one night, four another, and more another night too. Absolutely delicious. I had a large portion of fried clam strips which I devoured before I even got to the car. Had a few bites of other stuff ordered too but kept it simple. Lobster rolls were a hot ticket item with the fam along with the chowder. Pretty sure everything has been eaten twice over and then some. A large family order may shock you with the price but well worth it.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Kream N Kone for a long time now, and had my chance recently. Unfortunately, the food itself wasn't that great. Since they/many others say that fried seafood is their specialty, I decided to try out the fried whole clam plate (served w/onion rings & fries). The best part of the whole meal was probably the fries, which... is not what I wanted. The plate itself was extremely greasy, and the clams were very soggy as a result of this. The onion rings were too, and it unfortunately made for a disappointing trip, especially at that price point. The service was pleasant enough, though, and my review is really about the food itself. *Maybe* if I were in the area again, I'd try a lobster roll, but I would not come back for the fried seafood, unfortunately.

Yelp
unfortunately I was looking forward to a taste of delicious fish n chips, and a lobster roll platter with my family. I ordered takeout so we could enjoy the food at home because the rest ambience is really unpleasantly chaotic. well we got home and when i opened my meal , the lobster roll platter i was disappointed that they forgot the coleslaw- 1 of the 3 ingredients in the platter. my onion rings were all fried flakes with little taste or evidence of onion, and my lobster roll was tasteless. my son said his fish in his platter tasted bad. it was expensive too.

Yelp
Heard that this was the spot, so we had to try it! We ordered the fried haddock and fried scallop plates. Each plate comes with french fries AND onion rings. I was shocked because most of the places in the area make you pay more for onion rings. The scallops were great, and very juicy. Didn't even need sauce. Fries and onion rings were also good as well. Seating- lots of indoor seating. Not as much outdoor, maybe 6 tables? If you can sit outside it is very relaxing because you can look out onto the water! Parking- smaller lot

Richard N.

Yelp
Extremely good fried seafood. We've had the shrimp, fish 'n chips, scallops and shrimp. Very fresh and lightly battered. Plus you get onion rings as well as fries. Cole slaw is extra.

Maureen T.

Yelp
A wonderful First-Treat-of-The-Season !!! Huge portions...Fresh...Not greasy... Absolutely delicious...Summer 2024 On Cape Cos has begun !!!

Yelp
I've been going here for over 20-years. I love the food. This year things changed. I went with my wife and we got the 3 item seafood plate, like we always do. When they brought it out and put it on the table, we looked at each other an both said, "this is much smaller!" It was considerably smaller than past orders, yet the price was the same. We've never been able to finish this at the restaurant, always left with leftovers, but not this time. I mentioned this on their Facebook page, they messaged me that I was wrong, and deleted my post. First, I've been a customer for over 20-years, so I'm not wrong, the portions have shrunk. And if they really thought this, why message me and then delete my post? Very disappointed in Kream 'N Kone. So, enjoy your meal, the food is good, but not a good value. For $40 I got a very small piece of haddock, 4 scallops and 6 small oysters, about 8 onion rings and some fries. Also, the cup for the drink was smaller.

Yelp
Fried fresh seafood since 1953. This is a family staple, and is pretty much known to anyone that lives or visits the area. Can't really go wrong here. The seafood is fresh, and is fried in what definitely appears to be routinely changed out oil. Just an fyi, don't be surprised to pay though. Seafood is expensive these days, but it delivers more than expected, and is reliable.

Michael I.

Yelp
Delicious!! Ordered the 3 item plate a couple different times. Shrimp, Scallops, & Calamari is the best combination. The cocktail sauce is amazing!!
google avatar

Samuel B.

Yelp
The best fried seafood on the Cape. Always fresh, always tasty, and always fast service. Fries and Onion Rings are excellent too. The portions are generous, and the prices are fair. I've been going for over 30 years, and I'm not gonna stop anytime soon.

Yelp
It was our first nite at the Cape and we had a massive take out for nine adults on a Saturday nite. We essentially order almost everything they had to offer over the phone. I had expected them to take at least 20-30 minutes but they said come on down in 10! Upon arrival I saw a huge line waiting for seats and figured no way they were going to be able to pump out our large order in 10 minutes. We paid and within one minute we picked up. The bag was so heavy the handle broke and the service person re-bagged for us. Getting home and found everything tasty and delicious. I don't think one could go wrong ordering any fried seafood items here! Service was friendly and efficient. Cudos to the kitchen and the whole crew.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I've always come here and have always enjoyed the food! Recently I placed a large to go order and unfortunately the bag was overpacked and the bottom of the bag gave out, sending our precious food tumbling. The food here is quite expensive, and we salvaged as much as we could, but did lose two main dishes in the chaos of it all. We called to explain the situation as two of our party members were now without dinner- we wanted to see if they would replace the two meals lost. The manager on the phone was quite rude and basically accused us of lying about the entire situation. We ended the phone call upset about the interaction, and hungry. You can see photos here of how the entire bottom of the bag broke open. Two stars. Will only be coming back in times of desperation.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
Decent spot to fulfill your fried seafood cravings and a Cape Cod institution worth experiencing. The food was a little greasier than I typically like but I was a big fan of the clams. The portions are huge so it makes up for the higher prices you'll see. Outdoor space has a nice view of the river that is unfortunately sandwiched between a busy bridge and parking lot.
google avatar

Alejandro L.

Yelp
First time... it was plenty of people (Labor Day 2023). Clean even so many clients. Food is good, although on my criteria, very expensive compared with other restaurants around. Recommended but be prepared to pay for.

Sylvie T.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for greasy fried food then this is a good option. Scallops are well done! It is EXPENSIVE and staff is not super helpful.

Sarah Y.

Yelp
Always consistent...fantastic onion rings! Looking for seafood in West Dennis? You can't go wrong at the Kream and Kone. Eat in or take out.

Kosta C.

Yelp
Always has and will be a go to place to eat in the cape. All the food is good and is priced well. Staff are all very friendly. I also like the old fashioned style of the restaurant.

Yelp
We visited two Kream N Kone locations on this trip. This review is for the one in West Dennis, Ma. We never miss a visit to this place when on the Cape. It gets pretty crowded but the line moves fast and its worth the wait. They have a lot on the menu but we almost always stick to fried sea food. In my case this trip was for a fantastic whole-belly clam roll. Sea food is getting more and more pricey everywhere and K-N-K is no exception. But... it's fresh and delicious. My wife enjoyed a scallop roll - equally tasty. Both had very sweet meat. The batter and (I guess) oil must be just right because I think they stand out out K-N-K. There are a couple of ways to avoid the crowds. Try off-hours. Even 5:00 instead of 5:30 can do it. Or you can drive a little further to Chatham and go to that Kream N Kone. It doesn't seem as crowded.
google avatar

Michelle D.

Yelp
Great food and good service. The chowder was delicious. The lobster roll was also really good. The onion rings were just okay (nothing special). They definitely fell apart more than I was expecting!

Dwayne A.

Yelp
Great food, cold ice cream. Quick service. Wide open atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Been coming to the Cape for nearly 40 years and I must admit this was the first time I have stopped in and I was glad I did.
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
Still a fan of the Chatham location a little bit more, but this Dennis location has tasty food too. Plenty of seating, inside and out. Delicious seafood (mostly fried). My favorite is Haddock and onion rings but all the food is good.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Really good seafood and super convenient with multiple locations. I love the onion rings and clams.
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
The service was friendly from the moment we entered the building. We got the while belly clams, shrimp, and scallops, all were fresh and fried. The onion rings and frys were cooked well also but a bit greasy. I would go here again.
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
It was fine, a little off the road side establishment. Claims it has the best seafood. It was fine, nothing super memorable here. I had a lobster roll as we had just arrived on The Cape. The lettuce was larger than the very small Bun. For the price- not worth it. The bun was so small my lobster kept falling out. Honestly it was better by itself. The fee fries were good though!
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
This is a great place to eat seafood of all types. Their fried fish platter is to die for. Their onion rings literally melt in your mouth! Now, it is not cheap but you get your money's worth. If you leave hungry....it is your fault! The staff/service was fabulous! As an expert in Customer Service, I give them an A as their service rating and an A++ in food quality, taste, and amount. If you visit Cape Cod, make sure you take time to make this restaurant part of your itinerary. You will be glad you did and so will your stomach!!
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
Cape cod and the need for fried scallops was called for, I didn't think I needed a mortgage payment was necessary! The prices, like everywhere else, is costly. Forgetting my ordered clam chowder until we had left the restaurant didn't help much either. Easy in and out, but, the prices may make us stay away for a while. Might be a treat, once a summer. Would love to go back. If and when prices fall, but it isn't going to happen any time soon.
google avatar

Chase S.

Yelp
Fried seafood and ice cream mecca! The place has the style and decor of a 1960s/70s burger and shake joint. It's very unassuming but it'll do the trick. There's plenty of covered outdoor benches and seating options. You pick up your order after hearing your name called. There's a microphone/speaker system that reaches the outdoor deck, luckily, so you can grab a soda or beer while you wait. Plenty of parking outside. Decent bit of regular clean up and all staff were masked up. Spacing delineated on the floor for ordering. The fried combo platters are the way to go. Lots of good mollusks and fish. We got the oysters and clams, and the oysters were our favorite. Some chicken and mac and cheese, also fried, for the kids. It gets a little heavy after a while but that's what you came here for, right? Lots of ice cream shake and beer options. Prices middle of the road for above the cut fried seafood. Great family-friendly road-side stop that's accessible. We'd come back in between fancier dinners/lunches.
google avatar

Shelby Z.

Yelp
We came here for a quick, late night dinner after a long day in Cape Cod. We mainly chose this place because it was right down the street from our hotel, but it also looked like a cute little seafood spot. Kream N' Kone is a quick service restaurant that primarily serves seafood, but has a few other options along with ice cream. It has a small parking lot, but quite a lot of space inside for seating. They had a lot of good items on the menu, so it was hard to choose. I went with the calamari place, which was served with fries and onion rings. It was just okay, a little cold and slimy. The calamari and the fries were fine enough to eat, but the onion rings were pretty soggy. We also got ice cream afterword, which was a lot better than the food. They have a whole bunch of awesome flavors; I got the pina colada and it was delicious! I'd pretty much just recommend this place if you're looking for desserts or a quick bite to eat.
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Holy moly.. talk about a large fried seafood platter.. portions are huge and most certainly sharable, unless you are a really big eater. You order at the counter and if you are staying they give you a number for your table where the food is brought out to you. I went with the combo of sea scallops and belly clams which were on a large bed of fries and covered in a blanked of onion rings. The scallops were sweet and large, and the belly clams were plump - better than the strips for sure! It was fantastic and filling. Lobster rolls and Crab Roll are good options as well - light dressing lets the lobster shine inside that toasty roll. Crab roll is more akin to tuna fish sandwich, but of course they use crab meat here. My mom enjoyed this and ordered it again another time during our vacation. Incidentally they only serve it at this location, not the Chatham one. I also tried the clam chowder, which was thick and creamy - mine didn't have a lot of clam pieces though. Free refills on soda fountain drinks, or you can get a beer or wine. They also have a water cooler so ask for a water cup if you want to keep drink expenses even lower. You can sit outside and overlook a some water. All the typical Cape Cod specialities are presented here in satisfying and reasonably priced fashion - I'd hit it again!

Yelp
This place misses the bar for me. Outrageously priced fried clams and a small portion put the nail in the coffin for me. The staff is okay. I had a rather unpleasant experience with a woman at the counter. I just asked what was on the broiled haddock and was met with a less than enthusiastic 'Well what do you want on it'? I responded with you know, 'Salt and pepper, some Lemon'. When I heard they were putting vegetable oil on the fish, I canceled the order. I'm not about to put cheap veggie oil in my body. Veggie oil is typically canola and soybean oil mixed and is crazy cheap because a chemical known as hexane is used to extract the oil out of the seeds/ beans. Clams here are a rip off, plain and simple. $41 for 8 oz clam portion. Come on guys. For $41 I'll take a grass fed steak in Boston or a night out at another fancy restaurant. This place is just not befitting of a $41 clam plate. It should have been max $25 for what was received. I'll also mention they weren't super hot! Probably sitting for a little while before scooped into the little trays they have. Not good at all. Fish sandwich was bland and cooked in the same poor quality oil. Why can't they use good oil like avocado or olive oil? Too expensive, huh? They would rather provide the cheap stuff and charge through the nose for it. The tarter sauce comes out of a big Kens dispenser, a sign that this place is based in food service quality items. I gave this place another chance after coming 2 years ago. Skip it. Lobster roll was embarrassing for $21. Owner must think pretty highly of his food for the prices, but this place misses the mark, royally.

John F.

Yelp
A favorite on the Cape. The scallops were large and juicy, the best fried scallops we ever had. The clam strips were tender with the perfect amount of breading. My only suggestion would to put a little Old Bay in the batter. The onion rings were epic. We vacationed on The Cape for a week and ate there twice, and will on our next trip.
google avatar

Farrah M.

Yelp
Ordered a whole clam belly side. The bellies were tiny. $35.99 for a platter. 8oz bellies + fries and onion rings. WOW! My husband ordered another fried dish but we found hair stuck on the onion rings. The manager wanted to give us another order of onion rings since "hair fly all the time" . We opted for a refund.
google avatar

Mackenzie M.

Yelp
The service here is always amazing. There is a great atmosphere everyone is so nice and helpful. Not to mention the food is incredible. The fried clam strips are to die for. The ice cream is a fun way to end an incredible meal.

Laurie O.

Yelp
simple not fussy. just great fried fish! and wait til you try the onion rings -they melt in your mouth. easy to find seating indoors and out. not fancy just good. not expensive either!

Yelp
Known for their fried seafood I opted for their grilled shrimp and it was delicious!!
