Best Fried Chicken in San Francisco | Eater SF

"Yes, it’s fast food chicken served out of a gas station convenience store (in the Mission, in this case). But there’s a reason Krispy Krunchy proponents swear this is best Southern-style fried chicken in the entire city. Juicy flesh and well-seasoned, unfailingly crunchy skin — hence the name — are the hallmarks here. Walk up to order." - Lauren Saria

Krispy Krunchy is one of my favorite chicken spots! Not all are the same, but that’s what makes them special. You gotta find the one that you like and keep going there! I can’t wait to go to this new one!!

3 thighs, fry’s, and a biscuit for $13 is 🔥food is great, the staff is nice, open late, free sauce and they give you a bag for free. 10/10

What a disappointment! 2 small pieces of chicken with some potatoes and a huge mofe for $13 is a rip-off. Nothing special for that price. I don't recommend this place, it's a scam.

Yelp
If you know you know ... Ask a high-end sommelier in San Francisco what they most like to have with Champagne. Many will tell you Krispy Krunchy Chicken. This is a franchised chain and until now we occasionally bought the chicken, jambalaya and red beans and rice at a gas station on South Van Ness that holds a franchise. Now this one has opened stand-alone next to the 24th St BART station. It's the same slightly spicy Louisiana-recipe fried chicken and sides we know and love from elsewhere. There are no seats or tables here, and the area is not some place you want to sit down and eat. But, get takeout and take it to Dolores Park, or take it home and enjoy it like a sommelier -- with Champagne. Seriously not kidding about that.

Yelp
There's 2 gas stations in the area that serve Krispy Krunchy Chicken but I like that this seems to be a dedicated store front. I ordered 3 piece chicken strips with fries. I thought it was cooked and seasoned just right. Right in front of Bart and Muni stop so it's an easily accessible fried chicken fast food spot.

Yelp
Was walking along the street and saw the sign for Krispy Krunchy Chicken, don't think there is any parking so a lot of foot traffic. Hit the chicken strips several times and the pieces are rather large. It came with 3 pieces and a biscuit and your choice of sauce, I chose the ranch. The chicken was crunchy and moist a little but of Cajun spice. Everyone time I've gone service was immediate, the gentleman is always courteous and helpful will definitely be going back again.

Yelp
No frills fried chicken to go place. Chicken flavor was decent, crunchy and reheats well.

Yelp
Next to 24th St BART. Had high hopes for this joint I'd never tried but chicken was more salty than flavorful. And calling the jambalaya anything remotely akin to Cajun -- just NO. I had chicken tenders and "jambalaya" LOL. Not again, nope.
