Yelp
Review is based on a fabulous dinner in the hotel restaurant. Our first choice was "closed for company holiday", so German friends recommended this place - what a find! Located in an old farm house on top of a hill, the views - even on a rainy day - were fantastic.
Old-school, rustic southern German food (think deer, wild boar, veal liver, mushroom soup with cream, etc.) can be found here. Large, hearty portions. Delicious. Service is fast and friendly, and our dinners - pork medallions in mushroom sauce, lamb chops with rosti, and salad with grilled deer and fried quail eggs were spot-on. Top that with an interesting bottle of an unfamiliar wine varietal (Regent) and ice cream sundaes, it was pretty perfect. And very reasonably priced - dinner for 4 with a bottle of wine = 120 Euros. After dinners in Switzerland, this is bargain basement prices.
It's a bit of a trek - especially in the rain - but definitely worth a visit.
