The 22 Best Restaurants in Marrakech, Morocco | Eater

"While most of Marrakech’s riads operate as bed and breakfasts, Ksar Essaoussan supplies only the edible portion of that equation. The petit a la carte dinner menu will satisfy anyone with an average appetite, but ambitious eaters may want to tuck into the prix fixe. The seven-course experience includes hefty portions of two types of b’stilla pies (a meat version and a dessert version), two seasonal tagines, and couscous. Unlike many medina restaurants, Ksar Essaoussan also has wine to enjoy with your meal. The entrance can be difficult to find, but when you book a reservation, the restaurant will send out a helpful staff member to escort you to the front door. [$$ - $$$]" - Amanda Ponzio-Mouttaki

Beautiful food in a stunning 16th century Riad. Our service was impeccable as was the decor. I would recommend Ksar Essaoussan to anyone visiting Marakesh. Take your time finding it and you won't be disappointed!

Very good experience, they offer a fixed price menu for 350, 450 or 550 depending on your preference We tried the 350 menu of little dinner, but trust me we couldn’t even finish everything, it was way so much food and so different, The service is top notch, they are not many staff so the service takes care of take their time with each dish served The ambience is unique with a lot of history and mistery too! Would recommend this experience to anyone! The menu for 350 dirhams includes, a bottle of wine, starters, main dish, appetizers, water/soda, bread, dessert, tea & cookies , you can also smoke in some spaces & terrace Can’t find a better deal if you want to experience the real feeling

Excellent Moroccan tajins, couscous, beef, chicken, salads and old school desserts. The service is outstanding by our waiter Mubarak and the atmosphere is old school Marrakesh and very chic and classy. It's hard to get to but worth it for sure. A+++

I had a wonderful experience at Ksar Essaoussan. This gorgeous 16th century riad has been elegantly transformed into a restaurant, offering a truly magical setting. The service is excellent, but the real star of the evening is the food it’s an experience you won’t forget. I chose the full menu and do not regret it one bit. Be sure to come with a hearty appetite because a feast awaits you. Highly recommended!

We had the most amazing dinner tonight at this beautiful, old fine dining restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the gorgeous interior decor and timeless charm made us feel like we were somewhere truly special. The service was impeccable—our waiter, Mubarak, went above and beyond to make the evening perfect. Every detail was attended to with grace and professionalism, making us feel both welcomed and valued. The food was nothing short of outstanding—beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and served with a ceremonious touch that made the experience unforgettable. This is not just a meal; it’s an occasion. If you’re looking for somewhere that combines history, elegance, and culinary excellence, this is it.

This was probably our favorite meal in Marrakech! Don’t be thrown by the “suspect” entrance - the food and service was amazing! Youssef provides great service and interesting facts about the building. Most importantly, the food was amazing - all the way through from appetizers to dessert. Great view from the rooftop too. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The place really was very beautiful and well maintained, and the server was very friendly however the service was sooooooo slow, I've never had worse. They took more than 30 minutes with every course, even bringing us the menu card took them 10 minutes. And then another 10 minutes and they took the order and then another 10-15 minutes with the drinks. The olives were the best thing served that night so u should hold on to them to cleanse your palate. The starters were very bland and all were cold, so I don't know what took them so long (there were like 5 other tables occupied). The main course was alright, we had the lemon chicken tagine, the sauce was fine but the chicken had a tough meaty flavour. The desserts were fine. The mint tea was nice (sweet) though the petite four were also just stale biscuits that seemed to be out of a packet. For the price the food was just horrible and the service really slow. Tho 3 stars for our server who seemed to be the only one working that night. (Forgot to take pictures of the food, sorry!)

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Everything is wonderful there - the food, the atmosphere, the service. The guys make you feel like the most valued guest somewhere back in 1930’s. They serve the best zaalouk I had in Marrakech and around. All other dishes are also fantastic. The only advice to the visitors - come there hungry. Even the petite diner there is pretty huge. Will definitely come again if I visit Marrakech.
