Kuba Kitchen will work if you need a Cuban meal near the airport. - Review - City Of Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"This Cuban spot in West Flagler is near the airport. So if you’re a tourist who somehow forgot to eat vaca frita while in Miami, you can do that here before your flight. Their version is fine. It has a good sear but it’s missing those garlic and citrus flavors we expect from a great one. Their Cuban sandwich skimps on the pork too. Still, it’s all better than anything you’ll eat inside the actual airport. video credit: Virginia Otazo video credit: Virginia Otazo video credit: Virginia Otazo Pause Unmute" - Virginia Otazo

20 Iconic Dishes That Define Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"You can find a cuban sandwich on almost every corner in town. But Sanguich makes the best one in the county. Maybe even the country. The pickles are housemade, and so is the mustard. But the juicy lechon is what you really taste. Tourists flock to the one in Little Havana, but we’re partial to the Sanguich in Coral Gables, which is bigger and moves faster." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

We came here on a Tuesday night. It was empty but the service was exceptional and waitress was very nice. They have a small bar. Everything we tried was delicious! It is a little on the healthier side, tastes just like home made. We tried the lemonade, lechon asado with rice and fried plantains. and arroz Del Mar with fries. We enjoyed the music and good tasting food.

This spot was the perfect hidden gem in Little Havana! While many of the more popular restaurants had lines out the door, we stumbled upon this place and we’re SO glad we did. It was quiet, quick, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the El Kubano sandwich and the Alabaooo wrap, both were packed with flavor and the meat in each was incredibly tender. The Cuban sandwich was easily one of the best I’ve ever had, and the wrap? I’m still dreaming about it two weeks later. If you’re looking for an authentic, low-key spot without the long wait, this is it.

We came to this place 3 years ago and we loved it, we came back looking for the delicious fried snapper and it was beyond delicious! You need to come to this place, food is wonderful and coatumer service is amazing! Wendy was our server, she was very nice and polite, we definitely are coming back again we come to vacation in Miami!

Google
Kuba Kitchen is an absolute gem in Miami! The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality and flavor of the food—everything tastes homemade with a lot of love. There’s plenty of parking, which makes getting in and out super convenient (a rare bonus in Miami!). What really sets this place apart is the owner’s service—warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making sure every guest feels at home. You can tell this isn’t just a business, it’s a labor of love. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Cuban food without the fuss! Very clean bathrooms

Google
The sample platter was good, maybe a little heavy for one person since so much is fried. The "Kubano" sandwich was excellent. The pickles and mustard felt less like condiments and more like equal partners with the meat, cheese and bread. Feels funny to say that about a Cubano but I guess I'm trying to say this sandwich is super balanced and all elements really came through. 🙌🏼❤️

During our three-day weekend getaway in Miami, we were lucky to stumble upon a true hidden gem. Typically, we like to try different restaurants for each meal during our vacations to experience a variety of flavors. But after our first visit to Kuba Kitchen, we couldn’t help but return every day because it was just that good. From the atmosphere to the cleanliness, food, and service, everything was outstanding. On our first day, we had a late lunch and, despite being tempted, we had to skip dessert because we were too full from the meal and appetizers. As the day went on, all I could think about were the desserts we’d missed out on from the menu. The next morning, we made sure to be the first customers at Kuba Kitchen. I was determined to enjoy a dessert with my morning coffee, so we patiently waited for the restaurant to open. My husband and I sat at the bar, where we were greeted by Wendy, who cheerfully prepared the perfect cup of coffee. Aldo, the owner, also came over to chat with us before his morning rush. Both of them were incredibly warm, and we enjoyed our conversations with them so much. We shared stories about our cultural backgrounds—my husband and I are of Mexican descent—and had an enriching exchange about our cultural similarities and differences. We were captivated by their fond memories of growing up in "el campo" in Cuba, the beautiful country they call home. After talking about food for so long, we were ready for more Cuban cuisine, so we decided to stay for lunch. This was the first time we had dessert as an appetizer! On our last day in Miami, we had an early afternoon flight, so we stopped by Kuba Kitchen for a quick to-go meal, which was carefully packaged. We also exchanged contact information with Wendy, hoping to reconnect if she ever visits our hometown. We came for the delicious food, and not only got that, but we also left with a new friend. We wish nothing but success for Kuba Kitchen, as they are clearly putting in the effort to create a remarkable dining experience, and it truly shows. Without a doubt, Kuba Kitchen will be our go-to spot every time we visit Miami!

Google
Cuban cuisine served in a clean, welcoming atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff! Our group decided to dine at Kuba Kitchen for a spontaneous evening out, and we were not disappointed. The moment we walked in, the lively Latin music set the perfect tone for the experience. Maria, our server, went above and beyond to ensure we had an exceptional meal. Her attentive service made the night even more enjoyable. We started with the 'Kuba's Sampler' appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend it! While the other dishes were good, none stood out as exceptional. Considering the quality and portion sizes, they might be slightly overpriced. Overall though, a wonderful dining experience!

Google
I flew in from Atlanta to have my first ever taste of authentic Cuban food and this place blew me away! The fried cheese bites were incredible, the mojitos were refreshing and had the perfect amount of rum, and the ropa vieja was incredibly flavorful. The service and atmosphere were right on par with the food. Incredibly friendly and attentive wait staff, the place is SPOTLESS, and they have that air conditioning cranking right when they open. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re in the area!

Yelp
Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you. Kuba Kitchen is an absolute gem. While the location may seem a little sketch at first, inside diners will find a clean, welcoming dining room. Our waitress/hostess was kind and attentive, so we felt good about making our choice to have lunch here. The food is fabulous. The El Kubano sandwich with pork, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles was very delish and the Cuban Coffee was the perfect pick me up. Rich, not bitter. There is limited parking in their lot but you can also park along the street. Expect a short walk for the latter. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Came here straight from the airport because we should have Cuban food in Miami! Very cute place with sweet service. We ordered the appetizer platter but they were out of a couple items so had the tostones instead which were giant! I was full after eating my one and a half tostada so probably good we didn't the app platter. Roast pork was moist especially since it was a loin. Happy to have started with Cuban!

Yelp
We lived each of the 4 different entrees we ordered, & also loved the juices they offer. The service by Melissa was supremely fantastic! We would eat there on a weekly basis if we lived in the area. Regarding the ambulance, the inside had great music also. It was not very loud so that we could talk with each other very easily.

Yelp
The food is excellent! Flew in from Houston for a cruise and wanted some Cuban/Latin food. This place did not disappoint! Great service, great food! Highly recommend the fried cheese and the fried green plantains!

Yelp
From mojitos & cheese bites to vaca frita...try it all! We enjoyed this mom & pop restaurant for dinner while we were in Miami. Looking forward to going again in the near future.

Yelp
I was in the area and wanted to get some Cuban food nearby. There were so many little places around that looked awesome, but we ended up choosing this one in part because it seemed like they had some happy hour drink specials. And they did! Although, it wasn't that great of a deal and we had to ask to find out about it. When we entered, there was only 1 other set of people dining, but that didn't bother us. We ordered an appetizer sampler and this was definitely the way to go! I loved trying all the different savory bites. It included 2 croquetas, one empanada, Cuban tamal, tostones topped with sofrito pork, fried cheese, and fried yuquita. The real winner here was the tostones, which were shaped into little cups, with this soft delicious pork inside- such a great mix of slightly sweet plantains with pork inside, and the soft meat with the crunchy cup - YUM! This platter was perfect for sharing, so we also shared one entree along with our drinks, and this was more than enough for 2. The beans and rice as sides were definitely good. Thank you to our server, who was prompt, refilled our drinks often, and was also helpful.

Yelp
We were seated quickly which was great for Friday night. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and explained the entire menu to us. Food was great and portions were good for the price. Only issue was the credit card fee. It's only $1.50 but it would have been nice to know.

Yelp
In town after disembarking from a cruise but staying overnight to catch flights in the morning. Found this little place with some great reviews and decided to give it a try. Maria, our hostess, was super friendly and helped us choose items we would like. The mojitos were refreshing and tasty. We had the quesito frito and the frituras de malanga, as appetizers, which were super tasty. My friends ordered the Cubano sandwich, the pollo a la plancha, and the camarones al ajillo which they all raved about. I had the pollo en salsa de champiñones and it was delicious. Would definitely come here again if I am ever in Miami.

Yelp
Disappointed with the food and the overall experience. I ordered ropa vieja ($17). Ridiculously small portions. The main dish came out cold but the side dishes were hot. The sandwich we ordered had aluminum foil bits stuck on the bottom part of the bread. We were lucky we caught it before eating it and just took it off. It came with fries as a side too but it was mostly chopped up tiny bits, similar to what you would find at the bottom of a frozen french fries bag. The silverware and plates had some residue on them as well which we were able to wipe off with the napkin. The servers seemed nice but I would not come back or recommend this place.

Yelp
Food tasted great! Service was nice. They even had loud music and the environment was very nice.

Yelp
Very traditional Cuban with a few new items. The service is great and very attentive. I would recommend for a very informal dining experience.

Yelp
This place is so freaking good! I'm an avid cruiser and only in Miami a few times a year. I make sure to hit this place up the day before all my cruises. I'm not even sure what everything is called but I want to try it all!

Charles R.

Yelp
Stumbled across Kuba Kitchen after doing a "restaurants near me" search while looking for Cuban food and an inexpensive Uber from my hotel. Excellent find. I got my Cuban Sandwich fix and my wife took our server's advice and took the special. All very tasty. Excellent portion size. Service was very welcoming. Would definitely return next time in the area.

Courtney G.

Yelp
Melissa was our server and came over often to check on our table, and was so helpful and friendly. She recommended the Ropa Vieja, it was DIVINE. I got a side of the rice cooked with beans, and poured the Ropa Vieja juice over the rice, which was a delicious trick that you have to try. The flavor of the dish was extraordinary. The restaurant was clean and had great vibes. Every dish our table ordered was delectable. 10/10. No dissatisfaction or disappointment. I'm so glad we came.

Yelp
Great ambience despite the casual atmosphere. I visited there on a Sunday for dinner. Was already impressed with the service from the waitress as she gave me recommendations on the menu. The mojitos were fantastic. I enjoyed all the dishes I ordered. I enjoyed the food so much that I bought myself lunch for the next day.

Yelp
The food was great, I had a Cuban sandwich. It was on point, I will definitely go back before I head out of town.

Yelp
First time here with the sister in law and wife. The empanadas were good. Worth every peso. Lol

Yelp
Service is too notch! Maria made me the best drink! I started with a mojito. I ordered the Pollo Frito con Arroz y Frijoles. It was "muy delicioso!" I love finding these local spots off the beaten path that give you a flavor of their home. Comfort food. The staff makes you feel like family. Loved it. The place is spotless. Come and enjoy a taste of

Yelp
We had the most wonderful dining experience! Melissa was our server and she was great. The food was the best Cuban we've ever had - we tried several things between the four of us and each was better than the next. Pork, beef, 2 chicken dishes, the black beans and rice, and 2 drinks- lemon and pineapple. I can hardly wait to go back!

Yvonne V.

Yelp
The place didn't look like much from the outside, but sometimes, as is often the case, what you see is not what you get. The inside is very warm and welcoming. The service was very good. She was friendly and helpful when asked questions. And the food...WOW! I highly recommend and would definitely go back if ever in the area again!

Robert D.

Yelp
very nice and clean, staff very friendly, food above average. Cuban coffee awesome, still awake hours later... if I'm in town again, definitely will come back...

Yelp
Hidden Gem I discovered on the way to the airport. Delicious and fresh cocktails and Juices. The guava mojito was amazingly yummy! We tried the soup, skirt steak sandwich and Cubano sandwich. All were great and would definitely be back. Strange tho they included the tip automatically - I guess they didn't believe we would leave a tip?
google avatar

Yelp
Food was phenomenal. Off the menu empanadas! Fried Cheese. Sweet plantains. Cuban Sandwiches are great too! We will be back next time we are in Miami!

Yelp
Visiting here after getting off a cruise and was amazed at how delicious the food is!!! We live in California and have never had such great Cuban food as I had today. I will visit again the next time I visit.

Yelp
Spectacular! The food, ambiance, drinks, and service were all top notch! The goat was jaw dropping, apps were awesome, and drinks very tradition and delicious. It was tops - strong recommend!

Yelp
Let's start from the beginning. Parking is a little difficult. However, once you're in the restaurant, the atmosphere is pleasant, clean and comfortable. There were music videos playing on a large screen TV. Music was soft and appropriate for having dinner. Service was excellent!! The 2 young ladies were very attentive. We ordered the fried cheese as an appetizer, and picadillo as a main course. The fried cheese was very good, although the guava was a little watered down. The picadillo was one of the best I've ever had, with white rice and plantains( not the frozen kind). Picadillo is one of those Cuban dishes that very few restaurants make well. We will definitely be back to try some other appetizers and entrees!
google avatar

Yelp
What a gem!! My dad and I stumbled upon Kuba Kitchen by pure coincidence and we are very happy that chance brought us here. Ana - our beautiful, cheerful and overall superb hostess, waitress, bartender and guide - took excellent care of us from the moment we stepped in. Food was outstanding! We shared Tostones Montaditos for appetizers and then dad had Arroz Con Mariscos for his entree, while I chose Lechón Asado with a side of maduros. 5 very enthusiastic stars across the board!!! If you happen to find yourself in the area, do yourself a favor and try it. Buen provecho!

Yelp
La mejor comida Cubana auténtica y sabrosa hecha en toda la ciudad de Miami. Estilo gourmet comparable solo con la comida de mi abuelita. Muy bueno, hay que probarlo! Ya saben

Mary A R.

Yelp
First time going to this Cuban restaurant and I must say the food was really delicious. I had the breaded pork steak with moros and tostones....it was enough to take some home and enjoy again!! I was with family and the other 2 diners also enjoyed their meals. We started with appetizer of pico and bananas chips and had a mojito drink since I wasn't driving . The only disappointment was the flan...it wasn't bad but I like a firmer texture and a more bitter burnt caramel flavor.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Amazing food, friendly service, and fun atmosphere....what more could you want? I had the Lechon Asado and give it 10/10. I will be back next time I'm in Miami.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and each time has been a good experience. Wendy was our waitress this last time and she was spectacular. So friendly, she gave suggestions and very detailed in everything she did. The food is good and coffee is excellent. We love the decor and ambiance. Will definitely be back to support this business!

Zareen C.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing place!! Classy, beautiful, and incredible food. The cortadito is amazing!!! They have live music and dancing on weekends. Maria and Melissa took great care of us. Highly recommend this place. we will be back in a few days! Zareen, Erik, Baby Ayden

Yelp
Delicious little secret. Ambiance and food was amazing. De "Fritura De Malaga" where exceptionally crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Service was top notch. Manager paired us with a velvet red wine that was an excellent compliment to our meal. Live Cuban jazz and cabaret style entertainment at night. Already making reservations for upcoming event. Stone throw from MIA airport and steps from Magic City Casino. A must to enjoy with family and friends
google avatar

Duane R.

Yelp
Great food and very caring staff. The food tasted really good and everything was priced very reasonably. My wife and I had a great time. I messed up my bill and they were very honest and corrected it for me. Definitely going back and bringing friends.
google avatar

Ajade N.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place but I'm not happy I did other than just knowing not to eat here again. The food I received was very average and thrown together. I ordered the chicken soup and the fried chicken breast with mashed potatoes which looked a bit off and red beans but they gave me black beans instead. Again, the food was just average. Maybe I ordered the wrong items but I wasn't wowed by any of it.

Erik R.

Yelp
This place is great! We stopped here on a whim on our way from the airport and the food was amazing, excellent Cuban coffee and friendly staff. Shout out to Maria and Melissa who made my wife and I feel at home. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place has great food. We ordered the Kuba sampler which has fried cheese, croquetas, tamal, frituras de malangas, and fried yuca. It comes with two sauces one was guava and the other hand was a taste green sauce. We also ordered the Kuban sandwich with was very good! They also have happy from 4 to 7 all beers are $3! We will be back! Great service and super friendly folks!

Yelp
We were in Miami for one night before embarking on a cruise. We met some family members for dinner and went to Kuba Kitchen. The restaurant is small but very clean and nicely set up. The staff were wonderful, seating our large party immediately. The menu has something for everyone! We shared a sampler appetizer and every item was more delicious than the previous one! Our meals were ready quite quickly and everyone enjoyed their entrees very much! The staff were very helpful and checked on us several times, refilling drinks, etc but never made us feel rushed. The food was clearly freshly made and very tasty! I'm not sure when we'll be in Miami again but we would definitely come back!

Felicia H.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Cuban food, and when I say everything was absolutely delicious!!! Wendy was so knowledgeable for offering suggestions for newbies like mysellf. I absolutely loved every items she recommended and would definitely be back next time I'm in the area. That guava cake they have is the perfect ending to your meal. Thank you!

Ashley G.

Yelp
Delicious! We were hungry after the airport. We stopped here for a late dinner. Everything was fresh, clean and great customer service. Definitely a great start to our Miami trip with satisfying Cuban food!

Collin T.

Yelp
Delicious! Great drinks and delicious Cuban food at good prices. It was the perfect pit stop before going to my Airbnb

B J.

Yelp
Pretty good. Cuban sandwich and pork sandwich.... were average to above-average. Needed some more sauce, etc., to moisten it up. Pork was like a mexican torta without moistness, LOL. The real bummer (which really makes this a THREE STAR review instead), is that we ordered two different types of croquettes. They both tasted like mushy glue (tasteless, pretty much). Bummer. Earlier today, we had some AMAZING croquettes at a nearby bakery (I won't state the name, as this isn't about that.) Wouldn't order again... at least two other great choices that we have had in the same area.

Ary L.

Yelp
I love this place, great for happy hour, family gatherings and celebrations. The staff is very friendly and professional. Super tasty food, delicious cocktails and yummy desserts. Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
The food was so tasty! We ordered the Cesar salad with chicken and the oxtail special. So yummy! Our waitress was Maria, she was super sweet and attentive. I wish this was in California lol, because I would definitely be back

Yelp
We were instantly greeted and our waitress was very attentive and made us some fantastic classic mojitos. I definitely recommend coming here. Maria did a great job serving us and the food was hot and fresh and tasted great!
