Sat immediately and had us on our way in time for the show at the Altria! The food was stellar!! The chimmichuri was fire and the crab cakes were sans filler and were so juicy with a nice crispy shell. Every inch of the asparagus was tender and the spinach perfectly done! What a great meal!! Oh, almost forgot, the rockfish bites and dipping sauce were ridiculous!! Wish we had a bit more time for dessert...will definitely plan for that next time!

Google
Favorite place I’ve been on my trip to Richmond! NY Strip w/ chimichurri and salmon dishes were amazing! Yucca fries were so good as well! Ilse our waitress was awesome! They were slammed on Saturday night and I see why! Might not be as fast of service as most Americans expect but atmosphere, appetizers, and everything made it a wonderful experience! Will 100% be back!

Google
Food was amazing. I had a quick lunch and the entire meal was quick. Service could have been better or faster but staff was nice. I got the lunch special with the yuca fries.

This is a cozy little restaurant with great food. Cuban sandwiches are great, the ropa vieja was solid, and the staff are all very welcoming. No wait for a table, service was quick, portions were great, would definitely come back again!

Google
Small, older place. Went on a weekend and was able to get a table right away however staff was not friendly. Portions are large and look pretty but are flavorless. Not truly Cuban food. Plantains were very dry as was the Cuban sandwich. Pictured is the arroz con pollo where I found two whole chicken breasts not seasoned under a big bed of rice. So disappointing.

Google
always drop into this heavenly spot when passing thru Richmond. have to say I've tried a plenitude of Cuban fare and this place is too legit to quit. you can't go wrong with any of their sumptuous selections.

We stumbled across Kuba Kuba on Google maps and had an amazing dinner! This place is fantastic. The place was packed but the service excellent and the food was delivered efficiently and hot! Awesome dinner!

This is as close as you can get to a Fonda latina style restaurant. The decor, the ambiance, and the menu all say this is a typical latin place. We dined here on a Thursday evening, not too crowded but fairly busy. The menu offers authentic cuban dishes, as Picadillo and Ropa Vieja. For starter we shared the Coconut Risotto Cakes, it was very good. My main course, Guava Ginger Shrimp, very tasty and well prepared. For dessert, Cuban Flan; yummy!! It truly had the consistency and taste of a Latin America flan (not mexican). Be aware portions are large, so bring your appetite, all dishes are moderately priced. We will definitely patronize this establishment again.

Yelp
Vegan/veg/GF friendly. My second time here and first time eating here. In a very easy place to grab with ample street parking and casual. Great for small or a group of six that we ended up with. We did not grab drinks so can't add to that, but super friendly staff. We had a group of five and another friend stop by so they were wonderful about letting us put in a late order and it still arrived at the same time as the rest of our food. My BF's go to order is the vegetarian paella, but the BBQ sandwich might be my new go to. Their plantains are some of the best I have had outside of PR and so fresh. Do not skip on their bread and make sure to open the menu to see how extensive it is. Great for to go or dine in and a very casual, but staple place for a reason.

Yelp
Comically bad and uninspired food. This restaurant gives the energy of somewhere that once had heart, once had someone who cared about making it a good place, and now is an unclean shell of itself. The service was sluggish and non-communicative. We waited for a long time for food (they blamed an influx of delivery orders--the restaurant wasn't crowded), so long that we considered leaving. The restaurant is dirty and dated. The visible thick layers of dust near our table were unnerving. I was excited to see the vegan/vegetarian options. Unfortunately, the paella was really bad. The serving was massive. Not one vegetable was fresh (except the avocado, which was underripe). The spinach was frozen, the tomatoes were canned.

Yelp
Visiting Richmond for first time and my niece brought us here for lunch. Cute, small but cozy restaurant in the Fan. They also have a patio near the entrance when the weather permits. Seating was quick and server came over shortly after. We ordered the pork lunch plate and a Cuban sandwich. The portions were large leaving half sandwich for leftovers and a large portion of pork with rice and black beans. I had the pork. It was flavorful, delicious, and very tender. I tried the mango habanero sauce which I liked with its spicy kick. The fried plantain was tasty. Cornbread was slightly dry but mixed in with pork it was good. My niece enjoyed her sandwich. Also loved their fresh squeezed limeade. I'd love to return when back in town. Parking was a bit far but didn't mind the walk. Will look for Cuban food in my hometown. 4.5 stars overall.

Yelp
I finally checked out Kuba Kuba for the first time on Monday with a friend. The interior is so cozy and lived in with slightly grunge, artsy vibes. We were directed to select any two-top that was open. Shortly after, menus were delivered. My friend ordered a cafe con leche, and at first I only ordered a limeade, but after seeing her drink, I couldn't resist and risked the potential of being up late since it was mid-afternoon during our visit. Fortunately, it didn't keep me up, and that coffee was so stinking good! The limeade was nice and refreshing also. For food, I ordered the spinach and ricotta empandillas, as well as the morning quesadilla. While both were good, the quesadilla was the standout for me. The flavors all worked together really well. The leftovers also warmed up well in the air fryer. I didn't have room for dessert, and I was worried about the 1-hour parking situation, but I would definitely return to try more of their menu in the future.

Yelp
I loved the restaurant's aesthetic, the staff were friendly, and I enjoyed the food. Kuba Kuba is definitely my go to spot when looking for a delicious empanadilla.

Yelp
3 stars solely on the fact that the service was meh. Some of the staff weren't friendly at all... As for the food, all around good. The avocado salad was wonderful. The black bean soup could use some work, lacked flavor. The cornbread that was served with the soup was old and stale, which was disappointing. The kubanaso was delicious and the tortilla was wonderful too.

Beth S.

Yelp
We got the kubanaso, yucca fries and pork lunch special. It was all tasty, but the pork was a bit dry. I highly recommend the yucca fries, which are topped with fresh garlic, parsley and lemon...really out of this world! Service was good, and the place was super cozy with cool eclectic decor.

Yelp
It's a cozy spot located in The Fan. It seems to attract a good amount of locals, so I thought it was worth a try considering how close it is to me. I can't deny that the food is great. I've never had Cuban food before, so I can't determine the authenticity, but as a Latine I was able to spot several options that sounded familiar. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich and it was made super well! My partner got the Pork Plate, which I think might be the best item on the menu, and it was so delicious. The pork was so tender and soft, I will definitely return for it! The only reason for the 3 stars is due to the poor service. I have tried coming here before, but I wanted takeout. The waitress gave me the menu and completely ignored me for around 10 minutes. They weren't busy either, so I left. This time I tried dining in with my partner, and the same waitress hardly checked on us and seemed like she did not want to be there. If it weren't for, who I assume is the owner, we probably would have not been able to place an order for a good while. The most recent time I came here was with my mom who was visiting. We decided to eat outside, not realizing how cold it was. I was going to ask to be seated inside instead, but we weren't even checked on for a good 15 minutes. I had to go inside, be ignored by the same waitress, and have the owner approach me to ask if there was an issue. After that the owner attended to us for the rest of the time. I hope they're able to fix this issue because the food is really great and it's certainly cozy!

Yelp
Kuba Kuba has been recommended by several friends, and we can see why! The menu is pretty big and everything looks good, but our wonderful server helped me narrow it down. She reccommended the Salmon Tortilla (essentially a Spanish frittata). It was huge, full of smoked salmon and veggies, and was complimented really nicely by their house hot sauce. My husband got the Elena Ruiz and really joined that as well. Our server also helped with my coffee selection. I love cuban coffee but never know exactly what I want, and she put in the perfect order when I asked for something sweet and without a ton of milk. My son got a lemonade, which seemed to be house made and a little on the sour side, which I thought was great. They recommended the Tres Leches cake, which is apparently a family recipe and has been featured on the Food Network. We sadly did not have room, but I'm hoping we can squeeze in one more visit before we move, as I'd also really like to try something featuring their pork!

Yelp
I really enjoy their coffee. I went here for the second time just for the coffee. It's the right amount of sweetness. The plantanos were not ripe. It does state based on daily ripeness...I expected some sort of ripeness. Make sure to ask for the ripeness before ordering if this is something that concerns you. Overall good experience! The location is clean and small. The staff is friendly. I will definitely drop by on my next road trip.

Yelp
Great food! Dave had the cubano and I had the roja lunch special. Both meals came with fried plantains (which weren't as sweet as I would have liked but great nonetheless less- I figure that's more of a preference so I'm still giving them 5 stars). This was a detour towards DC because Dave was on the search for a good cubano and this hit the spot for him! The servers were really nice and we sat at the bar- great service. The place felt like a hole in the wall but those are usually some of the best places to eat!

Yelp
Don't miss this neighborhood staple, I like to bring folks from out of town here that don't have Cuban food at home. I have yet to have a dish I wouldn't order again, but my current favorite is the guava chili shrimp with rice and beans. It's fun, bright, and cozy inside, and the service is fast with no frills. I need to come back for coffee and a slice of tres leches!

Yelp
Please do not be fooled by the double Kuba in the name, they're merely trying to convince you it's something that it's not. You know what I hate most about this experience? I deserved exactly what I got!! I was invited to lunch, and they chose Kuba Kuba, not I! Matter of fact I told them that I had eaten at the West End location and wasn't interested in eating fake ethnic food at any of their other locations. I dont know if calling food cuban that's not cuban is cultural misappropriation, but if there a definition for it, then it would be Kuba Kuba. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I should have gone with my gut. I hate when folks convince me to do something I know is going to be bad. I was angrier with myself than Kuba Kuba. When I walked into the establishment all the signs were there, but since I wasn't paying, I played on my phone and ignored my surrounding's. My friend kept pointing out little blips here and there but, he chose the place, I was done. When we arrived, the place was jam packed, GOD only knows why?? My friend raved about this sandwich Elena Ruiz a Sliced turkey, cream cheese & preserves, with a side of unseasoned demi-ripe plantains. I have a pet peeve about plantains, they should be either prepared when ripe as sweet, or savory for the green plantain, but not in-between. Jeez Louise !! Also, most Cuban restaurants slice their own homemade turkey, not deli turkey Blecch! The sandwich tasted like an afterthought. I ordered the Guava Ginger Shrimp Sautéed shrimp in a guava-ginger BBQ (had I read the BBQ part, that would have been a nah) sauce served with black beans, yellow rice & grilled asparagus, sounds amazing right? (I know not really Cuban) I had tried their ropa vieja at the west end location, and the memory I had was No Bueno! so I settled. also, the waiter Rene highly recommended it. I always say If I have to add salt and pepper or anything to a meal in a restaurant, that's too much like cooking for myself. This dish was so bland and the flavor profile was just so off, that I couldn't finish my meal. We also had the Risotto Cakes Home-made risotto cakes with coconut & pineapple, dusted with rice flour & deep-fried, served over black bean & corn salsa. Had it not been for the Risotto Cakes I would've passed out; I was so hungry. I understand the place was really busy, I dont understand why, (I really think COVID affected a lot more peoples taste buds than we thought, lol) but I get it either way, however if you're going to ignore my pleas for an additional napkin then you should at least set your tables with a few napkins not just one. Not that it matters to me anymore since I won't be returning unless they hire an authentic Cuban Chef and give me a special invite to redeem themselves. I ended up eating a can of chef Boyardee spaghetti and meatballs when I got home. Even that was more authentic than Kuba Kubas version of Cuban food. Hey Miami, can we borrow one of your Chefs, Richmond is so behind. Anyway, I won't be gracing any of their locations with my presence, not even if it was the only place open and I was about to pass out of hunger. Dont take it from me.

Yelp
This was the first Richmond restaurant I ever tried. It was memorable as my first, but also memorable since it was actually good. The portions are gargantuan; I feel like 1 dish could feed me for a week, so you're definitely getting the bang for your buck. The food options are homey and just warm the soul. It's always a good day to order from here. It's also just really cute inside, and the service is lovely, so don't stop by just for takeout!

Yelp
This is one of Richmond's favorite places to get Cuban food. ***LOCATION*** Kuba Kuba is located in The Fan in a charming building next to Lombardy & Park Avenue Triangle. There is street parking nearby. ***EXPERIENCE*** It feels like treason to leave this review, but I think after living in Miami, I'm spoiled with my Cuban food. I've been here twice and both times found that what I ordered was pretty ok. Do note both waiting for your food and a table can take a bit. The decor and vibes inside are really homey. It has the local haunt feel that Richmond's favorite establishments have. When I first came I was surprised to see they didn't serve croquetas. On my second visit, I learned their cafecito wasn't made with all the sugar I was used to. I came with my partner's family and they enjoyed what they ordered. The Cuban Sandwich here is fine, a bit dry. I tried their softshell sammie and it was ok, there was a lot of bread. The plantains here are good. The coconut risotto cakes were sweet and made me think of fried tapioca (in a good way). ***BATHROOM*** They have one single stall here. It's a clean and very spacious bathroom. ***CONCLUSION*** I love the family and local feel of Kuba Kuba. I hope when I return that I find something I love on the menu.

Yelp
Tried this restaurant after a recommendation and I loved it! It's a cute little place with a fun atmosphere. Our server was friendly and our food was brought out super fast! I had the guava ginger shrimp and it was delicious! The portion was large enough to share or have leftovers!

Yelp
Just coming back to add a Pro-Tip! Do NOT Zinder any circumstances order brunch on an empty stomach! You will order way too much food because literally everything on the menus slaps! Huevos ranchero done Cuban style with delicious Cuban bread, the seafood soup was delightful, the egg scramble weird beef was yum and oh man those coconut risotto cakes was like a semi savory, semi sweet doughnut!
google avatar

David W.

Yelp
A great little neighborhood restaurant. It has both indoor and outdoor seating when the weather allows. Food is always tasty and unique. Today I had the Vegetable paella. It was huge, definitely enough for two or three people. Has lots of veggies in in.

Alana J.

Yelp
1st of all! No seperate checks???! and we weren't made aware until the very end! 2nd Service was really lazy and lacking. Server was inattentive and kinda rude.Maybe it was just a miscommunication so I'll try again another day.
google avatar

Yelp
My daughter and I popped in for an afternoon snack and we found seating right away at the bar. Cool vibe in a corner space in the historic fan district of Richmond. Service was a little slow but not a big deal - we got café con leche, cortadito, flan and a key lime tart. Full disclaimer, I'm Puerto Rican and was born & raised in Miami so I'm a little picky about menu staples like these...and they were just okay. I plan to go back and try some more to see if the rest of the menu holds up.

Celia A.

Yelp
Rode into the city and had the beef empanadillas, arroz con pollo, Cuban sandwich, chicken pineapple sandwich and the Elena Ruiz sandwich. Everything was so delicious, if I go back I will definitely be getting the empanadas and Elena Ruiz again! The service was quick and friendly! I love the feel of the local environment!
google avatar

Janine P.

Yelp
Menu says Ropa Vieja... an honest disgrace to Cuban people and Latins in general. Chipotle i think can be considered more "Latin" and better tasting. Quite crazy. A literal insult to the Latin community.

Yelp
As someone who attended VCU for four years, I had always heard about how great Kuba Kuba was but never tried it myself until recently during a visit to see my girlfriend; safe to say, I am extremely disappointed in myself for not going earlier. We got to the restaurant around 2:30pm on a weekday, but despite this, most of the tables were full and the atmosphere was very lively, with many of the people eating there taking their time and comfortably having their conversations while enjoying their meals. We were seated right away, and ordered the two lunch specials, as the prices caught our eye at less than $11 a dish, a steal for a sit down restaurant today. We also ordered the cafe con leche with condensed milk and ice, and the tres leche cake. When the food came out, we were shocked at how big the portion sizes were for the price; we both left with a sizable amount of leftovers. The pork and beef were very tender, and I was impressed especially with the pork as it can often be dry when cooked in this shredded form, but Kuba Kuba did it perfectly. The rice went very well with the vegetables and beans, and overall everything combined very well to make a very tasty meal with lots of variety. The coffee was delicious and nicely sweet, reminding me of vietnamese style iced coffee with condensed milk but with a more subtle coffee flavor. The cake slice was absolutely huge as well and we could only finish half of it. The cake was extremely moist, and the sweetness went well with the savory meal. The prices would definitely have been something I appreciated during college, but it's a great place for a casual lunch or dinner with a friend or a date. I will definitely be coming back for more each time I am in RVA.
google avatar

Yelp
Traditional food with a tasty Cuban sandwich on the menu. They make everything in house. No reservations but they move things along quickly. And they serve plantains (the sweet ones) on the side. I prefer the original location but there is other now.
google avatar

Lucy A.

Yelp
We love this place! Always delicious and fresh! If we are going through Richmond it's a must! Super cool and very good. Service was great ( as always) we were seated outside. The crowd is eclectic with lots of locals and near by college VCU students and families. It's a Cuban fusion restaurant so try the Cuban food. Tops vieja is always a favorite and the Cuban sandwich is a must! I love the empanadas anytime! It's a great place to enjoy a great meal!
google avatar

Leland L.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants. It has a cozy local feel but also plenty of tables. The lunch/ dinner menu is interesting because there is such a price gap between the sandwiches and the entrees. I've had both - entrees are ok and you get a lot of food, but the Cuban sandwich is what makes this place memorable. I recommend ordering extra plantains :) Also, you can buy a mug to bring home! It's my favorite mug.

Yelp
This was our first time at Kuba Kuba, and it will not be the last! First of all, the food and atmosphere at this Cuban restaurant are very authentic. The menu is huge, packed with delicious options, and makes it hard to pick one thing. We visited Kuba Kuba for lunch on a weekday. At the time of arrival, they were not too busy. We arrived a little before the lunch rush. We did not have to wait for a table. There was some outdoor seating, and the weather was perfect to eat outside. A few other people had the same idea, and the outside seating was full. We sat indoors. For those who are vegan and gluten-free, you will NOT have an issue finding something to eat here. Our first orders were appetizers. We ordered Tostones/Plátanos [deep fried plantains, freshly made at today's state of ripeness] and Empanadillas [two traditional pastries stuffed with spinach topped with their house-made lime sour cream & veggie garnish]. We received huge portions of delicious Empanadillas & fried plátanos/tostones. It is safe to say that the majority of the dishes are Cuban-inspired with some twists on the traditional. For my entrée, I ordered The Paella Vegeteriana. And let me tell you, it was a monstrous portion in a Jethro-sized bowl. My order could have served at least two people. I couldn't finish it, I had to take half of it home. It was loaded with traditional Spanish rice dish with artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, asparagus, tomatoes, potatoes, peas & spinach. Topped with avocado and Kuban bread. It was not the traditional Mexican-style but rather a huge pile of ingredients layered into a bowl. It was more than I really should have eaten in one sitting. I got an additional side of plátanos. With my meal, I went with their freshly squeezed Limeade. The portions are surprisingly huge for the price, and we left with a bag of take-home food. I would highly recommend visiting Kuba Kuba.

Yelp
We had lunch here and absolutely loved the funky, Cuban atmosphere. It is in a residential neighborhood, but street parking was not a problem for us. We started by sharing an order of Beef Empanadas. I thought they were quite good. For lunch, I had the Bar'b'quban Sandwich. Sadly, it was weak on BBQ sauce and the sandwich bread was stiff and dry, clearly a day or two old and of little appeal. The accompanying Platanos were tasty, but very salty. My wife had the Lunch Roast Pork Plate. It was a huge serving and rather plain to the taste. The accompanying Cornbread was lacking in flavor and very dry, once again a day or two old. We'd love to return here and try something else, but probably not for a while. the servers here were pleasant, but inattentive and indifferent. Location: 4 stars Food: 3 stars Service: 3 stars Atmosphere: 5 stars Value: 4 stars

Yelp
Came into town and was told we have to try! Service was meh and food was ok. One of my co-workers had to keep getting up to ask for things because they never checked on us. Would not come back but at least we gave it a try.
google avatar

Yelp
I think the food is pretty bland for the most part. I used to like coming here in college but when I revisited, it wasn't the same as before. Lack of flavor and the service was super slow. I think the empanadas were the best thing we had along with the avocado salad. Wish I had more to say but I don't think this is worth coming post college.
google avatar

Yelp
No this is a really fun place to eat. So many different things on the menu I couldn't decide what to get. Tastes like home cooking, delicious and with good quality ingredients. Very fair prices too. The go-to Cuban spot in RVA
google avatar

Alexandra A.

Yelp
The empanadillas are so good. I really like the plantains as well. It's a fun restaurant with a cozy vibe and lots of fun, Cuban decorations. It's pretty small, so a wait for a table can be long. Additionally, the wait for food can be a little long.
google avatar

Yelp
Unique and darling in this tiny corner restaurant. Great couples date with $30 for two entrées and a picture of beer.

Yelp
kuba kuba is a charming local spot that makes one feel as though transported to an episode of gilmore girls wherein rory comes to vcu and gets a cool alt girlfriend. id been a few times before and always enjoyed my food and the welcoming service, but it had never quite "clicked" for me. today, that all changed. our waitress suggested i try the huevos rancheros and dear reader, i will never be the same. kuba kuba's huevos rancheros lit my soul afire and birthed me to be a new woman, a better woman, a kinder woman, a wiser woman. this dish even made me, one who shudders at the thought of eggs, a woman who delights in those protein filled chicken byproducts. the perfect medley of salty deep flavors, richness, and a light limey tang woke me up, got me going, and had me kicking my feet and giggling. the kind of meal i will think of for years yet to come. thank you kuba kuba, thank you chickens, thank you god.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Has been a few years since eating at kuba kuba. Now I'm wondering why I've waited so long. Food was great. Always go for their special pork and beans. Cornbread was like dessert. Will make sure to come back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Vibrant, fun, very casual atmosphere with fantastic vegetarian options and amazing empanadas - both meat and vegetarian.

Yelp
We had a really nice time visiting Kuba Kuba. We were looking for something different and this fit the bill. There's a cute outdoor space with a few tables and a half a dozen or so tables inside. The inside is really colorful and fun. We got the coconut risotto cakes, the pineapple chicken sandwich, and the kubanaso (a Cuban with chorizo). The food was delicious, the sandwiches came with fried planarians which were fine. The service was fine, I ordered a drink that was never brought but he was apologetic when taking the charge off the bill. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
Kuba Kuba is super solid and always a great dinner option when we don't know where else to go! We usually split the ricotta & spinach empanadas (absolutely delicious, hot and creamy with a crispy exterior), the veggie paella, and the tomato-peso-cheese melt pressed sandwich. You can't go wrong with any of these options - the bread is always grilled and crispy but still soft, the paella portion is HUGE, and the empanadas are a satisfying start. My favorite bite is to take some paella rice, veggies, sweet plantajn, avocado, tiny bit of bread, and a little hot sauce in one mouthful. So comforting and yummy! Service is simple and and solid, and the decor, although feels a bit dated now, is eclectic and colorful. Overall, food and experience is good and worth a visit if you're trying to find a solid spot for a meal with friends or family.

Yelp
We spent National Cuban Sandwich Day at Kuba Kuba in The Fan. While the Cubano with platanos was delicious, the real standout was the tres leches cake--OMG was this cake something! It's no wonder Kuba Kuba's tres leches cake was featured on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate. The service was a bit slow (our sandwiches took over 30 minutes to arrive after ordering), but the restaurant was packed. I also loved the Ed Trask mural adorning the exterior restaurant wall!

Yelp
Kuba kuba is a quaint little Cuban corner spot and definitely a must visit in Richmond! The decor really envelopes you in the culture. Beef Empanadillas: 5/5 - They were crispy, filled with flavorful beef, and went SO well with the mango/carrot/habanero sauce. Cuban Roast Pork: 4/5 - The pork was nice and tender, but a little bit dry. But when paired with the Mango/Carrot/Habanero sauce it works out well. The plantains were sweet, but the sides could be crispier. The rice and beans were meh. But portion size was very generous. Guava Ginger Shrimp: 5/5 - The guava ginger sauce was sweet, tangy, and the ginger really popped! The rice and beans were meh. But portion size was very generous. Service: 2/5 - The server was nice, but practically gone the entire time. We saw her maybe 3 times our entire meal. Overall, I would come back because the food was amazing!

Rebecca A.

Yelp
My boyfriend had came here a couple years ago and had talked very highly about this place so we thought to give it a try again. We should have went somewhere else with actual authentic food. The food was very bland and tasted like it came straight out of the can, with no seasoning on it. I know alot of restaurants do this but they could at least used a better brand. And for this place being a "Cuban" restaurant, the waiter was not a fan of us being Latinos. The way she talked to us vs the other tables with non Latino customers, it was definitely racial. The only thing that was good was their iced coffee. I would stay away from this place if you are Latino, there are other places that make you feel more welcomed.

Yelp
Yum! Still so delicious. Husband had the pork platter (not sure the name) and I had the veg-q sandwich. I was really happy with the flavors and the texture. It is the best vegetarian entree I have had in a while from a restaurant. We will be back

Yelp
It's always a great experience at Kuba Kuba! The food is great and the atmosphere is always lively! Today we started with the eminadillas and they did not disappoint! For dinner I had the grilled chicken and pinnacle sandwich and it was so good!

Yelp
Great spot. Great food. Super cool vintage look. Just wasn't as great as years ago. Ropa just didn't do it.

Yelp
oops! I ate my seafood paella too fast to take a photo. This place was amazing!!! Such a unique little spot. The portions were huge and prices were great. The surrounding streets are nice to walk around too.

Yelp
Lovely local Richmond spot. Really nice place to go if your looking for a classic night to experience Richmond VA. In a good area and the people who run it provided great service. The food was pretty decent but I should've have gotten the empanadas which was reccommended. I'd go here again and this place is a certified hole in the wall restaurant!

Yelp
I got the Kuban roast pork and it was yummy in my tummy. I feel like it needed a sauce or some more seasoning to elevate it, but it was still very good. The flan, however, rocked my world! I'm not usually a flan stan, but it was scrumptious. I look forward to returning!

Yelp
First off, this place has amazing service. But, let's talk about the food. One word, fantastic. I had the Vegetarian Paella, and it was unlike anything I have ever tried. So many flavors and the bowl they give you is GIGANTIC, which is a mega plus. I was a little apprehensive in the beginning because it had red pepper and I am not a fan; however these were throughly enjoyable. A 10/10, I would go again! :)

Yelp
The food is incredible but the waiter and waitresses are unfriendly and non attentive. It was not even crowded today and the waitress did not even fill our water glasses after waiting over an hour to get our food. I recommend the chef hires more friendly waiter and waitresses. Luckily the food is great.

Yelp
I've been to Kuba Kuba a couple of times. Since my last time, it seems that some of that staffing has changed. I would say that it is a hit-and-miss spot for me. Wasn't really satisfied with the service. It appeared that the server was easily agitated by my table no matter how light-hearted or funny they tried to be. The lady server was very nice and as helpful as she could be. The male was pretty cold and cut dry. The food on a scale of 1-10 for me is about a 4 or 5. The one thing that I like from there required a lot of modifications for me to enjoy. I'd say this is an okay place but it isn't a place that gives me an experience with my meal. It almost gives me the vibes of ... "go here only if some of your favorite places aren't open... waffle house is still open".
