"The Gasthaus, which annexes the Kulturhof Stanggass located on the road between Bischofswiesen and Berchtesgaden, offers a culinary alternative to the restaurant Solo Du. Done out in light wood, the minimalist-style interior has a modern yet cosy feel. The glass façade affords views of the garden, which includes a children's playground. Book a spot at the "Stammtisch", a long handmade wooden table for 25 diners. The menu draws on the region and nature's bounty – the ingredients are locally sourced. The good food is complemented by friendly service." - Michelin Inspector

"The Berchtesgaden Alps have welcomed travelers of all sorts, from mountaineers, sanatorium residents, eco-tourists, and sports junkies to the Romantics of yesteryear. Rising from the ashes of an old-school luxury hotel, Kulturhof Stanggass instead fixes its gaze firmly on the future. Don’t worry, you’ll still get a knockout panorama of the Watzmann massif every morning — but you’ll also swap anecdotes over long tables and live music in the beer garden. Take a bracing morning plunge in the natural pool, or finally dig into Thomas Mann in the stillness of your blonde-wood balcony. Clean, simple, healthy, eternal: let these be your bywords as you drink in nature’s magnum opus." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed in a family balcony room at Kulturhof Stanggass and absolutely loved it. The location is excellent—peaceful and scenic, yet close enough to explore Berchtesgaden and nearby attractions with ease. From our balcony, we were surrounded by stunning mountain views and greenery. It’s hard to describe how beautiful the scenery was—it truly felt like we were inside a painting. 😂 The room was very spacious and could comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The bathroom was large and clean, with a separate shower and toilet area, which made it very convenient for a group. The natural wood interior gave the space a warm and calming atmosphere. Breakfast was great—buffet-style with plenty of fresh options and a bright, open dining space. We really enjoyed it. The front desk team was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We always felt well taken care of, and their service added to the overall positive experience. The price was reasonable given the room size, the quality, and the amazing environment. We would definitely recommend this hotel for families or anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic retreat in the Bavarian Alps.

We had the most lovely time staying in one of the first floor cabin rooms. The room and view were perfect. The staff were all very lovely and so welcoming to our children. Larisa was also kind enough to arrange some special birthday requests which were much appreciated. The location is quiet and peaceful but close enough to walk into town.

A truly stunning place to stay. We typically don’t visit a place twice but I would 100% come back here in the summer or fall. We stayed in one of the “cabins” and it was perfect for our family of 4. The playground was great for kids and though we were there at the end of March (not great patio season) I can only imagine that summer here is amazing, having a beer in the garden and looking out at the stunning mountains. The food was excellent: a huge, delicious breakfast spread, and we ate dinner twice at the restaurant. All our meals were excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, providing a diaper pail for our baby, coloring supplies at every meal for our 6 year old, and allowing us to order some To-go snacks for her to enjoy in the room. The location to town is great - a beautiful 10-15 min walk, and an easy 15 min drive to Konigsee, Jennerbahn, etc. The rooms were clean and just lovely. I was sad to leave!

We were wedding guests. It's too expensive. There was no fridge, no telephone in the room. It was impossible to visit the SPA, because the sauna starts working in the afternoon. The pool is only outside and dirty. The shower room has no door. |Several guests were not there, their food was not given to us, although we had paid for it. The food that was left - snacks - was not brought with us. It mysteriously disappeared :(( The only thing that I liked - the surroundings. But this is not the hotel's merit.

Tasteful architecture, nice mixture of modernity and nature. Beautiful view over the mountains. The same amazing view from the sauna. Great Restaurant with friendly staff. The food is also great. Free Wifi and Parking space. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature and architecture.

We booked a table from the fork at 20:30. Having said that, the first thing we found out is that nothing is coming out of the kitchen after 21:00 so we had to settled for a two course meal. We had the steak-tatar, the wintersalat, and the two fish dishes availabel, trout and Cod.|We thought that if the cook has such a strict times, the food at least will be nice. Well that was not the case. The tatar was nicest item, with its main problem the crunchy onions. The greens that came with the tatar were identical to the greens of the winter salat, so was the foam of the two fish. Lazy cooking that is. The Cod was from frozen and had a freezer dried flesh smell. The skin was not crunchy, but rubbery and the defreezing took the best out of the moisture of the fish. The trout below average. Overall this was a canteen food dressed up for a quality restaurant. Didn't worth the money.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in late September and LOVED our stay. The hotel was so nice! All of the details were so well thought out, everything was beautifully done, the breakfast was great, concierge was very accommodating, the view from our room was STUNNING. We definitely hope to return again someday in the future and stay for a longer amount of time!
