Independent south‑side shop spotlighted by Edible Reno‑Tahoe for albacore and yellowtail carpaccio. Locals like the value and variety, including noodle bowls alongside AYCE—a comfortable, neighborhood pick that still cares about the fish.

Delicious AYCE Sushi in the Reno area, not buffet style but you can always receive fresh meals as you need for 2 hours. This restaurant is very popular, and we waited for 40 minutes to get a seat at 6 pm on Saturday. Staffs are friendly. Plenty of choices of tasty sushi and nigiri, especially with fresh fish and seafood. Fried appetizers are ok but it's better to save your stomach for sushi. Sashimi salad, Salmon Cama, and baked sushi are highly recommended. There is an extra cost for ordering drinks. We enjoyed this sushi experience.

We came to have dinner here and it was great. Sushi was well made, and the staff was great. They were very polite and serviceable. I think we found our new AYCE sushi in Reno.

Google
Came here for AYCE meals a few times because we really like the food and service. Sushi does not have a lot of rice, so it's really nice for AYCE. Service is attentive. Our servers came many times to take care of us, no waiting is needed. Recommended to have a reservation.

Google
We've tried at least 4-5 AYCE sushi places in Reno, and this is tied with Hinoki Sushi as our favorite spot. The sushi was pretty fresh and not loaded with rice, so you dont get full from it. The ambience was nice and the service fast and friendly. And the price - especially for lunch - was very reasonable. They don't have any premium sushi included but that's okay as I was happy with all the regular nigiris, maybe with the exception of the scallop which was just a little fishy. Their hot food/kitchen items were also pretty good. 5/5 overall, would definitely go back next time.

Kuma Sushi: Reno's Hidden Gem Delivers a Taste of Vegas-Level Excellence! As a self-proclaimed sushi stickler, especially after being spoiled by the incredible sushi scene in Las Vegas, I'm always on the hunt for a place that truly measures up. And let me tell you, Kuma Sushi in Reno has officially ended my search – it's the closest I've found to my favorite LV spots, and honestly, it might just be the best sushi in Reno I've tried. From the moment you step in, the nice setting at Kuma Sushi sets a welcoming and comfortable tone. It’s the perfect backdrop for enjoying a fantastic meal. The good service was also a standout; attentive without being overbearing, making for a truly enjoyable dining experience. Now, let's talk about the sushi itself: the rolls here are simply the best in Reno that I've encountered. I opted for the Alaskan roll and the spicy salmon, and both were exceptional. The Alaskan roll quickly became my favorite – a perfect balance of fresh ingredients and expertly rolled. But don't sleep on the spicy salmon; it was legitimately fantastic, with just the right amount of kick. For anyone who appreciates high-quality sushi and has a soft spot for the caliber of rolls found in Las Vegas, Kuma Sushi is an absolute must-try. I'm already planning my next visit – I'm definitely coming back for more!

Google
If there’s a better AYCE option in Reno, I would certainly like an introduction. At Kuma, not only are the sushi and rolls excellent including the upside down scallop but the appetizers are even better. The beef teriyaki is perhaps the best I’ve had at any AYCE establishment, the gyoza above average with generous filling, the miso soup robust and the udon available and hearty. Even the desserts are delectable especially the affogato. Service was beyond the call of duty though can be less attentive during busy weekend hours. Overall, this should emerge as the consensus best AYCE in Reno in the months to come.

Google
Have come here multiple times now and it has become our go-to spot in Reno for sushi. I love that they have some different offerings than the other ayce places- including Kama, creamy salmon, and affogato for dessert. They also have ono for nigiri, which I haven’t seen anywhere else in town. I mostly eat nigiri and I feel they do it really well. The mussels are 10/10. The rolls have been a little hit or miss- I will say as far as those go I have had better experiences at other places. But overall I just think the atmosphere and quality is always good.

Yelp
One of my friends raved about their fresh and delicious sushi. Did not disappoint. Their menu is extensive with a lot of appetizers and sushi rolls options, but really you can't go wrong with any of the choices. Food was no doubt very fresh and flavorful. The quality of the fish was outstanding. I generally am not a big fan of sauces, so requested little or no sauces on those rolls and they came out perfectly. All were very tasty and hit the spot. To end it off I was able to calm down my stomach with affocado ice cream. The ambiance was very welcoming and warm, great for family and friends to catch up. The restroom looks spa like feeling. The service was on point with super friendly servers. They were so kind and quick to clean up the empty plates.Wonderful experience!!! Definitely coming back!

Yelp
We went here for all you can eat dinner. It is on the higher end for price but not outrageous. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We arrived around 5:00 on a Sunday and we were seated right away. By the time we left there was a small wait to get in. The food was sooo yummy! This place offers some dishes and sushi that I have not found at any other sushi place in Reno. The restaurant is very clean and well taken care of . The vibe seems to be easy-going and comfortable. I've been here a few times and will be back again!

Yelp
I had a sudden sushi craving and yeah I have it often. So took husband here for lunch. It was our first visit, so I was really hoping that it would be a great find. And it was! We don't do AYCE, but have given up on finding a sushi restaurant that doesn't do AYCE. Even though Kuma's AYCE deal seemed great, we still went for lunch sushi& roll combinations. The quality is excellent. The rice is properly cooked and seasoned, and the fish is fresh. Nice presentation. The price is very reasonable. The service is kind and attentive, and the place is super clean, nicely decorated. Kuma will definitely be our go-to sushi!

Yelp
In order to be great, to have to do the basics right, every time. For my taste, Kuma Sushi misses the mark. When you enter Kuma Sushi, the restaurant looks quite nice, with nice seating, high ceilings and a polished finish. On this occasion, you could not miss the mis-placed sounds of AC/DC's Hell's Bells blaring over the sound system. Not exactly what I would expect from an "up scale" Sushi restaurant. The music continued with the thumping boosted bass of modern day club music. What ?!? Looking for more of a snack than a meal, we ordered a Dragon and Catepillar roll. We were trying to get the attention of our "waiter", we were unsure if he understood our order as he just turned around and walked away. Sushi rolls are defined by the quality of the rice and the freshness of the fish. Let's just say the rice was mushy and gummy. Many people have recommended Kuma Sushi but for my money you could do much better in Reno.

Yelp
The two star rating is strictly for their employee BRUNO only !! , he was literally a saving grace . I know Reno Isn't the most diverse place but the service received in this establishment was absolutely unacceptable !! . We were seated on the back booth near the window , essentially tucked away in a corner , and briefly told about the all you can eat menu . Bruno was excellent with his recommendations. The service was chaotic and there was a bit of confusion about who was my server since multiple people continued to come to my table at random , I should have been thankful , because at a certain point nobody came at all !, there were people who came in after me , who were served before me . It got to a point where the girl who was originally my server completely stopped acknowledging my table , she would come by , service the tables around me , and walk away, I had to literally get up and ask for a server !, I sat there for 15 mins and watched multiple servers cater to the tables around me but never acknowledged my table ! it also didn't help that many of the workers unfortunately don't speak English the Chefs included . My friend was given a bunch of recommendations from Bruno , which he went ahead and ordered , we also got tempura veggies , the soft shell crab ,& I ordered the baked spicy salmon roll , and popcorn scallops, I was not very happy with anything I ordered, all of the food was bland with no flavor, and all of the fried items were coated in a thick breading that tasted like old grease . The popcorn scallops absolutely made me upset , because they were drowning in two different types of sauces that aren't mentioned on the menu , they tasted like rubbery ,fried balls of grease I immediately sent them back , like the sauce should have been on the side unless requested on the item by the customer , the sushi roll was okay , but it was nothing to write home about, I only ate 3 pieces because by then I was ready to get away for this establishment, my appetite was long gone due to how long I sat and waited , the restaurant was busy but when I first arrived it was fairly empty , my table received an order of popcorn shrimp that I never ordered , which as well was drowning in those sauces, those were sent back as well because I didn't order them , one of the servers attempted to tell me I did , which I assertively reminded them that no I didn't I ordered the scallops ! , overall the fish on the sushi was fresh , that's the only plus , but there is nothing positive about this place for a first time experience, the service was chaotic because it seems like no one is assigned a section or table that they work, so things were all over the place , the establishment would make for a nice dinner date , but I suggest maybe looking elsewhere before settling for this place , I was absolutely disgusted to essentially be blatantly ignored , my friend and I were the only black patrons in this establishment, so it was hard not to feel like the piss poor service we received wasn't charged by that little tid bit, there was a woman who I'm assuming is the owner who came by as we were leaving , she was polite but it was a little to late .

Yelp
It was ok. The customer service was ok. It takes long to get your order. Other AYCE sushi are better. It took about 20 minutes to get our first order. That was ridiculous. We were starving. We are not coming back here. Not recommended.

Yelp
This place is phenomenal. Coming back again and things are perfect. I keep mentioning the apps because they are fantastic and so many choices. We tried the affocado this time and of course, probably my favorite ice cream at this point. It's a scoop of vanilla with coffee, topped with almonds, freaking delicious. They were a little busy today for lunch so service was a little slow but didn't mean it wasn't good, just slower than usual. Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try!

Yelp
What a solid little sushi spot. Great atmosphere and the sushi was excellent. Solid find on a rainy night in Reno Great night and great sushi

Yelp
Met a friend for lunch and we had a great meal. I ordered the shrimp yakiudon and it was sizzling hot when it was brought out. Beautiful presentation and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. It wasn't too busy and we did not feel rushed out to leave. That was pleasant feeling!

Yelp
Good quality sushi at a fantastic ayce price. The menu is same as if you order just a couple rolls, so if you are a big eater and have a couple of friends the ayce option is very worth it. The quality is solid, and the portions are reasonable without too much rice to fill you up fast. There were 3 rounds but we were tapped out by the second. All the rolls were well made with good fish. I especially liked the nigiri and the fresh rolls. The special rolls were tasty, and I especially liked the Alaskan Roll and the Salmon Lover roll.

Yelp
My kids and friends have been here before and said the quality of the fish is usually better. However on this day it wasn't; by looking at the pictures you can compare it to my other sushi experiences. Tuna thin and very pale looking vs deep red, salmon didn't look that good either; both tasted "blah". Several pieces very tiny - inari, tamago and unagi. Service wasn't that great either and had to ask for several items and follow up on our order. Overall not good. Sadly do not believe we will be back and do not recommend.

Yelp
Let's start with the obvious: they make good sushi... I've been here 3 times since they opened and I've enjoyed my experience each time...with minor caveats. The service is always great and I love the layout of the place...it's always a great atmosphere to enjoy a delicious meal. I always sit at the sushi bar. Let's get a couple of those caveats out of the way first. On my latest visit, I ordered the Hamachi Kama, which I've ordered here before...and enjoyed...although it's not the entire collar (or even a half collar) as I'm used to getting at other places...including my go-to sushi joint. This most recent time, after ordering it, the manager(?)/owner(?) told me that the Kama is NOT part of the AYCE menu...when it had been previously. It's still listed on the menu in a large box in the bottom center on one side of their menu that's labeled, "All Day Specials"...as it was previously....and under that heading, it says, "Limited One Order Per Person". It's grouped in with other items that also have that limitation that are still part of the AYCE menu. Maybe they should revise their menu and list it under their "A La Carte" section now? I guess they haven't updated their menu reflecting the changes...how would I know? Bit of a disappointment... The sushi chefs here do a great job...and PLEASE don't take this wrong...but, communicating with them has been difficult in my previous visits, being that they have a limited usage of English...usually not a problem...although I do really enjoy interacting with my sushi chef...I hate filling out an order sheet...and there was no order sheet at the sushi bar this time. I do like to order some things a little differently from the standard to fit my taste profile. My sushi chef this most recent visit was someone new that I hadn't seen before and he was reasonably easy to communicate with...friendly, efficient and he made very good food. Their menu is "krab" heavy on their rolls...there's a limited selection of items without the ubiquitous fake "krab" and I'm not a fan of the flavor or texture of that product. I know I could probably order those rolls without the "krab", but that comes back to the communication difficulties. I don't want to have to work that hard to enjoy my meal... I really enjoy one of their desserts that I've ordered every time: Affocado (a variation on the classic Italian dessert, Affogato) [Ice Cream With Korean Sweet Coffee, Almond] This most recent visit, the ice cream was completely submerged under the coffee, which left the presentation lacking...I had to hunt for the ice cream and it threw the proportions out of whack, changing the flavor substantially...the coffee dominated the flavor...no balance to the combination of flavors. Again, these are all MINOR caveats...it doesn't change the fact that THEY MAKE GOOD SUSHI...!! As you can see, I still gave them 4 stars. On to the positives: The rolls that I did order without the fake "krab" were almost all outstanding...great construction, balance of ingredients/flavors/textures...very pleasing. Their "Carpaccio" offerings are unique and delicious...you can't find these type of creations at any other place around the area...very imaginative...they're also listed in the "All Day Specials"/"Limited One Order Per Person" section. It's basically "bumped-up" sashimi. I like their appetizers...the Baked Green Mussels are prepared in their unique style and are always cooked perfectly. The Jalapeno Bombs are tasty...also different than other places...and this time, the jalapenos had a KICK! I love my spice...I have a very high spice level... The Popcorn Scallops are little flavor bombs...not too much breading as to obscure the taste of the scallops...just right. I like the fact that they have White Ono on their Nigiri menu...I believe that they're also the only place that offers this fish. Quail Eggs are not listed on the menu, but I asked if they had them and my sushi chef confirmed that they did. I ordered 2 shooters...extra extra spicy...and while they were delicious, they didn't come close to my spice level. The Korean Poke Roll was the standout roll for me...good stuff...the Spicy Gochujang sauce really amped up the flavor and had a kick. All in all, a satisfying meal with lots of highlights that outweighed the (again) MINOR negatives. I'll be visiting again when my favorite sushi chef in the area is unavailable at my go-to joint. Everyone does sushi differently...YOU should check it out to make your own decision...

Yelp
All you can eat sushi at a decent price. Came on a Friday afternoon and the place wasn't too busy. The restaurant is modern and filled with bear decor. Sushi is fresh and not stuffed with too much rice. I really enjoyed the creamy mussels and the gyoza. I don't typically eat the wasabi and ginger at sushi places but the ones here are pretty tasty and sweet in flavor. Service is good but the waitresses could smile and be a bit more friendly. Not sure if it's just their resting face but I got off putting vibes from some of them. The only other negative would be that the spoon for the ice cream is tiny and the ice cream is very hard to scoop out. Overall a good sushi place and I wouldn't mind coming back.

Yelp
1st time here and liking the variety of sushi, slightly different from the usual in other sushi places. Parking was plentiful. Server was nice and helpful. Restrooms were stocked and clean, felt almost spa-like feel. Back to food...the fishes were fresh and the unagi was amazingly wonderful :) they had lobster as well! The creamy lobster one was really good! They also had a tuna and salmon version of a no-rice sushi, which was good, though could have been better if there was less sauce in the middle because it was a little overpowering on the tuna/salmon -- but still a great idea! They also had affogato for dessert!

Yelp
The sushi today was very fresh and tasty! Might be the best Donald ducks I've had in a long time. Our service was wonderful and they have a very nice atmosphere inside.

Yelp
Wow! This place bets all the other sushi places in Reno. Service...pleasant and attentive. Did not feel rushed or ignored. Even though we were the last to leave... we felt comfortable. Quality of fish was fresh and flavorful. We were told when we sat down that they were out of yellowtail but could substitute anything else for it on the rolls it was on. Rolls were made with a thin coating of rice ..letting the fish shine. All cut evenly. Hand rolls had the combination all the way down not just on top. Order without the sauces and you get the true fish flavor.

Yelp
I love eating here during lunch when it's not too busy. You can appreciate the dining area and the modern chairs. Food is excellent that makes AYCE sushi worth it!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the AYCE sushi! There were so many options and all we order was so good! The service was amazing and they brought out the food pretty quickly. We went for an early dinner and there were plenty of seats but filled up pretty fast!

Yelp
Kuma! Congrats on being named one the Top 25 Places to eat in Reno Tahoe. Seeing you on the list reminded me to come back for another visit and I'm glad I did! Kuma does things differently and it's appreciated. The menu has interesting items, many of which are exclusive too. I personally love the selection of "carpaccio" aka sashimi, which is very generous. They offer 4 or 5 types and I enjoy all of them. The appetizers are similar, with hits like popcorn scallop, soft shell crab, and sashimi salad. They eventually have specialty sushi items like the salmon rose! Don't worry. Dessert is more of the same. I saw the affogato on there and had to try it. This was the perfect way to end a meal here. The coffee ice cream was rich and flavorful and the sweet cream kicked it over the edge! I want them to blend it up as a shake! I can totally see why they landed on this list of epic local eats. Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Kuma Sushi had been on our radar for some time, and winter break with the kids was the perfect opportunity to try them! We chose a weekday and shouldered our visit between lunch and dinner hoping to catch a slower time. We made it, sort of. The dining room was actually pretty full at 3pm! We chose the bar for the 4k view of the fish & chefs. The menu is extensive, and though there is always some overlapping selections, there were also several here that were unique to Kuma. A tween, a teen and 2 adults and we came HUNGRY! We sampled a ton of rolls and covered a good bit of their nigiri menu, plus appetizers, and we really enjoyed it. We've always said the cornerstones of the sushi menu (in our humble opinions!) are hamachi & tako. Get those right, and almost anything else you try should be easy breezy. Both were good! The tako was briny and snappy, and the hamachi tasted fresh and buttery, as they should be. The only really off-putting choice we tried was unagi! Bummer, since its one of our faves. Tasted and smelled like cat food with a fatty congealed texture. Maybe an off day? Service was the -1 star here. Chefs seemed irritated at us, and *seemed* to snicker and talk to each other about us at every order. Staff was busy with the tables and allowed stacks of plates to accumulate which makes sitting at the bar feel cramped and dirty. Overall, it was a good visit, and the kids price for 14 and under was a nice surprise. Tasty sushi, fair price and OK service is my summary, but we'd definitely try Kuma again.

Yelp
My family and I love coming here! The salads are good, rolls are tasty and the dessert is divine. We legit drive from the complete other side of town, passing many sushi restaurants, to come here. The service is QUICK! The food comes out so fast to turning in your ticket and I really love how they give you the same ticket back for a 2nd and 3rd time after ordering so you can keep up with previous stuff that you ordered. Personally, I really enjoy the raw carpaccio that they offer and they just really think outside of the box compared to other places in town. Cozy and cute decor but they have TVs so you don't miss a sports game. Be back soon!

Yelp
My peeps that read the review, I apologize in advance for forgetting the names of the rolls! Lol they all were delish though! In Reno visiting and I hadn't seen my friend in a long time so we were there for a couple of hours. This was some great sushi for an exceptional price! We went in for lunch and it's a cute and clean spot. The staff were awesome. Very friendly and gave great suggestions on rolls! Looking forward to visiting again when I'm in the area!!!

Yelp
I came by on a Monday around 2:30pm for the lunch AYCE for $27.99. Service was quick and attentive. I basically ordered everything that was a limit of 1 order per person lol. They were out of both kinds of kama (salmon and yellowtail collar). Standouts were the fried soft shell crab, sashimi salad, poke nachos, and baked mussels. Carpaccio was unique; I loved the addition of chopped lemon and jalapeno. I am an acid fiend, so I also appreciated how the salmon nigiri came with thin slices of lemon. I liked the seafood for all the nigiri I got (unagi, scallop, salmon, creamy salmon), but I thought the rice was a bit mushy for my preference? I am used to it being a bit drier with a chew to it. It was kind of tragic because the fish here is fresh and flavorful, but the mushy rice took away from the experience. I definitely want to come back and try more things; the table next to me was raving about the white ono, so that's on my list for next time. Hopefully the rice was just off during my visit or something, but overall, this restaurant offers enough rice-less options that it isn't the end of the world.

Yelp
A bit of an old review - catching up from 2024! We checked out Kuma as it had recently opened and we heard great things about the location! The wait was quite long - waited in the car for about 40min. Staff was very friendly! We liked the variety of sushi and apps available. The nigiri was small with a good rice to fish ratio! Unfortunately, the main reason I wouldn't choose to come back to this location is that I felt the rice was very overseasoned and the nigiri was often served with sauce on top which made everything so sweet. It really took away from the flavor of the fish. I wouldn't recommend this location unless you have a sweet tooth.

Yelp
If you've been looking for a quality AYCE sushi spot in Reno, definitely ROLL on to Kuma Sushi! I tend to be a bit suspicious of AYCE sushi spots, especially in a landlocked city like Reno, but I was pleasantly surprised at how high quality the seafood was here! Every piece of nigiri we ordered was extremely fresh and cut well, with a minimal and well-balanced amount of rice. There were some surprising standouts such as the hotate (scallop), soft shell crab, unagi, and salmon carpaccio, and this is definitely a spot I would recommend especially for their $30 AYCE price, which includes 1 round of appetizers, up to 3 rounds of sushi/sashimi, and dessert. Service was also efficient and friendly, and the dishes all come out very quickly after you order. Featured here: Salmon carpaccio Yellowtail carpaccio Hotate Tuna Salmon Upside down scallop Upside down crab Yellowtail Saba (mackerel) Unagi Red dragon roll Udon Vegetable/shrimp tempura Sashimi salad Ikura Masago

Yelp
I've been to every sushi place in town and this is my new fave! Nearly all sushi places have the same rolls or their nuanced twist on the same rolls, along with the standard appetizers, yet Kuma offers something completely different! Included in AYCE is their version of sashimi, which they term as "carpaccio". Fabulous!! The service was on point as they brought out everything with precision and timed it well as we finished previous courses. One last thing to call out were the salmon bombs, tuna bombs, etc. These were bit sized nibbles that exploded with flavor....hadn't seen those before on any local menu. Awesome!
google avatar

Bianca V.

Yelp
Great appetizers, the speciality menu is a full meal in itself. I really love the nigiri here and mainly order that when I do AYCE sushi. It's one of my favorite local spots.
google avatar

Kelsey M.

Yelp
Usually have a good experience here however on Tuesday 7/22 my family came to dinner here and they accidently charged my dads credit card twice but not my husbands at all. They are now refusing to refund my dad the second charge because "they will be out money." Seems like an error that should not be put on the customer. Ridiculous.

Yelp
8/31/25 So this was the first time here. Had saved in my Sushi Folder to try and oh boy so glad I did. Was busy for a sat night but we got sat within 25min or so for 3 of us . The service was excellent and efficient. As soon as a plate was done they swooped in and took away . We did AYCE of course . Started with some Baked muscles delish and Jalapeño Poppers (no pic) I forgot oops . The place was still very busy but man they came out with the rolls so fast after we put order in. We got Dragon ,Caterpillar, Kuma , Golden Tiger , Spicy Challenge, Baked Volcano & couple others I forgot names and pics lame. Either way everything was fresh and delicious and fast . Ambiance is very nice kind of smaller place but it was very good . Definitely will go back and try some more rolls . Great selection Enjoy !!!!

Yelp
The parking lot can be crowded, but cars are always coming and going. I was craving poke and was close by. The bowl was decent sized, but I'm not sure it was worth 25 dollars. It was very saucy, so the fish wasn't the star of the bowl. It was okay but maybe not to my preference. The California roll was good. Straight forward and as expected. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had ayce. There was a good size crowd during lunchtime on a weekday Bathrooms were clean. Staff were nice. I'll have to come back to try other items.

Yelp
One of the better AYCE sushi menus in Reno. A lot of items you can't get in other places. Pleasant atmosphere. I'd say too pricey for Al La Carte. And if you are more of a conservative eater, eating mainly the mainstream stuff and mostly rolls, then the more exotic offerings here will do you no good.

Yelp
Honestly one of the best AYCE sushi experiences I've had in Reno, and I've been eating AYCE sushi in this town for a very long time. This was my first visit to Kuma Sushi, and I was seriously impressed. the vibe is cozy but still modern, with bear-themed decor that gives it some personality without feeling gimmicky. We went for an early dinner, so it wasn't super crowded, and the pacing of everything was smooth. Service stood out immediately. No exaggeration, THREE different staff members asked for our drink order when we sat down, and the attentiveness throughout the meal was honestly top tier. I go through a LOT of ginger when I eat sushi, and a server noticed right away when I ran out and asked if I wanted more. That has never happened to me anywhere else. They were friendly, efficient, and just really on it. The food did not disappoint. The salmon skin hand roll was loaded (like actually loaded) with crispy, flavorful salmon skin. Not weighed down with filler, and the sauce on it really brought everything together. The Popcorn Lobster roll might've been the highlight. Four pieces, absolutely piled high with crispy tempura lobster. Easily one of the best bites. The salmon nigiri was also super fresh, no off flavors or weird texture. Even the salmon skin salad appetizer was great. Simple, lightly dressed, and the salmon skin on top was perfectly crispy. My only complaint was their spicy crab/scallops. It's not terrible, there was just something a bit off about the flavor (I'm assuming it was whatever they used to make it "spicy"), and if I could give half points, this is the only reason this place would be getting a 4.5/5. For the price, this place is a steal. It might actually be one of the most affordable sushi spots in town right now, and with this level of quality and service? Totally worth it. Final thoughts: I will 100% be back. That lobster roll alone is going to live in my head rent-free until the next time I can get over there. Great for lunch, a casual date, or just treating yourself. No complains at all, this place is killing it.

Yelp
This is rated the best sushi in Reno and I think it us but they are blasting Fox News disinformation. I won't come here again.

Yelp
Pro's: Everything...BEUTIFUL inside. Con's: None Go back?: Absolutely More... I finally had the opportunity to go to this restaurant and it will now be my go-to for sushi. I thought the prices and portions were good. I did NOT do all-you-can eat...just the regular menu and it was excellent. A real treat!

Yelp
The sushi here was great! I especially liked how each roll didn't have a lot of rice. Some places have too much rice but they have the perfect amount for each roll. The fish was very fresh. The appetizers were delicious. And so were the dessert options. The staff were super kind and all helpful. When any of them would walk by, they were so kind to ask if we needed anything. The rolls came out quick and loved how they had a tally sheet for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd round of rolls. You can keep track of what you ordered already. The restaurant was neatly decorated and felt very spacious. After going there for the first time, I realized Kuma means Bear, which made more sense on the forest and Bear decorations. If you've never been to Luma Sushi, I highly recommend making a trip to amazing restaurant!

Yelp
Best sushi I've had in Reno. Awesome and friendly service and very fresh, and delicious sushi options. Great with kids. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
This is the freshest sushi I've had in Reno so far. The service was attentive, even during a rush, and the ambience was perfect for celebrating a friend's birthday. They easily accommodated our large party and took extra precaution to separate rolls for our friend with a shellfish allergy. The rolls were made beautifully and quickly! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday around 3:30 and was immediately seated at the bar. The chefs were ready to take our orders which is great. We ordered sushi before drinks and apps came out. It was unclear who we should give the apps sheet to, so when our server didnt come back, we gave it to the chef. The apps were ok, the tofu and miso soup were my favorite. I wasn't a fan of most of the rolls. We tried the pepper salmon, the larva, the lakeside, the red dragon, the kuma, the spicy challenge, and the Alaskan. The Kuma was my fave. The rolls are quite small. I don't know that I'd recommend any of them. We also ordered the salmon kama and sake salmon nigiri, and liked both of those! The ambiance was ok, the restaurant itself is very clean and pretty inside. I notced however there was no music playing, all we could hear is the spanish music from the kitchen The mochi was great, the ice cream was not good and freezer burned.

Yelp
I'm glad I tried this place. It is now my favorite sushi restaurant in Reno. The service was fast and efficient. The food came out very quick either you are seated at the sushi bar or at the table. Fresh and many different types. They stand out from the rest of sushi restaurants in the area because even with the AYCE, the menu has more sushi/sashimi dish than others. Overall, this is my go to sushi even it's far for us.

Yelp
Kuma Sushi has become our sushi spot over the past two years. I like their selection of rolls and the fish is pretty good for what you can get in Reno. Service is quick and the restaurant itself is very clean. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but weekdays aren't bad at all.

Yelp
Loved the vibe of this sushi restaurant. Very different from the other sushi joints in town. Very modern. The decor was sleek and was a nice change to any other sushi place I've been to. It was obviously a different vibe. Prices were comparable to anywhere else. Unfortunately our service was so poor. Took forever to have anyone help us. When we came in, we were immediately sat down and the restaurant was pretty empty so we were excited to have good service. Sushi is like the most important food to have good service. Unfortunately we were sat for over 15 minutes before we even got water, despite trying to wave employees down. After we got water it just continued. Took forever to get our first order. Then took forever to get our next paper. It was never ending. Food was okay. Nothing special but nothing bad. Rolls were a good size. They have chicken nuggets on the ayce menu which I have never seen but so appreciated for my baby! Due to service, I'm not sure we will be back.

Yelp
AYCE what do you mean!!! We placed our family of 17 for reservations in the afternoon and the lady who picked up kind of had an hesitant voice as to how she will accommodate but we had an early dinner scheduled for 5pm. Some of our family members opt in for ala carte since their palate wasn't quite like ours. Different price for under 5 and under 12. It wasn't too big inside neither but service was on point. Quality of the sashimi was excellent. We ordered all the carpaccio and I love how each gave you a unique twist. We did not leave any leftovers otherwise you pay. lol. End of our meal I really enjoyed the fried banana We will be back

Yelp
Our new favorite sushi place in Reno! And so close to home:)) Cute atmosphere, cozy with some mid century modern vibes. Great menu! So many sushi places use all fake crab filler or cheap shrimp. This place mixes it up a bit more and offers some specialty items even on all you can eat! Price is average plus but quality is worth it. Service was outstanding, seemed like the servers have been there a long time and love their job. We went on a Monday and had a little wait! So I'm guessing this place gets super busy! And for good reason;)

Yelp
One of my favorite sushi spots in Reno! Their menu has a lot of variety that I haven't seen at other sushi bars in the area such as their carpaccio. Definitely take a look at their "All Day Specials", the choices on there is what makes this place different. For the times I've been here, my friends and I were seated right away. The restaurant is a little snug so I can see a wait list going on if it is super busy. The first time I went here, the service was a bit slow. My friend also mentioned that the service was like that as well the last time he came here. However, the second time I came here, the servers were very attentive! A few of my favorite bites here is the salmon bomb, baked green mussels, pepper salmon, and creamy salmon with onion. As for parking, there is a parking lot so there is plenty of parking in the shopping complex.

Yelp
Took the family out for lunch on my Son's 16th birthday and decided to try out Kuma sushi after reading the positive reviews. I don't come to the lakeside shopping center often, so it was a nice visit to that side of town. We cam at an odd hour, about 2PM for lunch, so it was not crowded at all and we were seated and served quickly. The All you can eat is the obvious choice, especially with 3 hungry kids and 2 adults all ready to devour some sushi! We went through all our usual favorites of nigiri, Sashimi and Rolls. I also tried the carpaccio and the salmon bomb for a little creativity, but mostly stuck to our favorites, of Salmon, Yellowtail, Red Snapper, Tuna, Eel, and some of the mixed rolls. I didn't try any appetizers but they have all the usual options, and even fries and nuggets for the kids if needed. The rolls were good, but I found many of the options are spicy, which doesn't work for the kids, so we mainly went with variations of the rainbow roll. I don't do cooked rolls either so that narrowed down the choices pretty significantly. All that being said, the fish was fresh and flavorful and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was great, very attentive and quick. Happy with my first visit to Kuma and look forward to returning again soon!

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my experience here. I found this spot on a reddit post about the best sushi in Reno and was not disappointed. Most AYCE has similar rolls here, however at Kuma they had unique and delicious rolls. Their appetizers were tasty and the pricing was very fitting for the quality. I was not a huge fan of the jalapeño rolls or the sashimi with onions and cilantro. The service was quick however the spot is small so I'm not sure how it would be in the evening.

Yelp
I really really like this sushi spot. I already thought everything here was good. But I ordered their seared saba and their cup of udon today and to be honest: I have to say this is now my favorite sushi place in Reno. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Visited for the first time. I had all you can eat. I stayed with the normal tradition options: salmon, tuna, red tail, snapper. All tasted fresh. My husband ordered chicken yakiudon. His meal took more than 20 minutes to come out and when it did he said it tasted like chemicals. He had about four bites and couldn't eat any more. Our drinks weren't refilled. Wasn't busy at the first half of our meal but restaurant was packed at the time we left.
