London’s Best Grab & Go Meals

"On the Shaftesbury Avenue side of Chinatown, Kung Fu Burger is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it Chinese burger spot which is great at putting delicious things—tender shredded pork and meltingly soft duck in a moreish, sweet hoisin sauce—between flaky buns. It’s one of the best meals for under a tenner in London. If you’re after something a bit more substantial, get involved in ruler-width handmade cold noodles. They’re chewy, singing with sesame oil, and an instant contender for your regular grab-and-go lunch rotation if you work nearby." - jake missing, rianne shlebak

Where To Go When The Queue For Noodle Inn Fills You With Existential Dread

"Did you know that you can eat Noodle Inn’s noodles without queuing? This lofty claim might sound like we’re starting a pyramid scheme but have trust, it’s true. A five-minute stroll from Noodle Inn is their grab-and-go Chinatown sibling, Kung Fu Burger. The Chinese buns are flaky, the sweet duck is meltingly soft, and although you won’t be able to try Noodle Inn’s headline beef shank biang biang (spoiler: it’s just good, anyway, not great), they do serve their handmade cold noodles that have exceptional chew factor. Order the chilli oil and sesame sauce version, and nab a bench in St. Anne’s Churchyard or Soho Square. Touch grass. Feel smug. Try not to get chilli oil down your top." - heidi lauth beasley

Are These London Restaurants Worth The Hype?

"The Verdict: These flaky buns are one of our favourite ways to spend a tenner in central. If these packed Chinese buns appear on your screen, say “thank you, algorithm”. A low-key takeaway hatch on the Shaftesbury Avenue side of Chinatown, Kung Fu Burger specialises in putting delicious things—tender shredded pork and meltingly soft duck in hoisin sauce—between crisp, chewy buns. It’s cash-only and there isn’t any seating so be prepared to stroll, savour, and incite the envy of any hungry co-workers back at your office. Kung Fu Burger Review - Chinatown - London - The Infatuation

"Even if you know exactly where this takeaway hatch is, chances are you’ll end up looking like you’re auditioning for a role in a Specsavers advert while trying to find it. It’s crisp but predominantly chewy, with a satisfying flaky tear. photo credit: Emily Hai Shredded Duck Burger With Hoisin Sauce This hoisin sauce sits right on the delicious side of the sweet spectrum thanks to its tangy, vinegar jazz hands. But the duck is frankly, quack-worthy. It’s meltingly tender with crunchy skin that goes toe-to-toe with the crisp chewiness of the bun. photo credit: Emily Hai Cold Noodles With Sesame Sauce These noodles understand the fine line between perfection and practicality. They’re chewy and wide belt-style noodles but trimmed into sections and thin enough to be consumed one-handed al desko. They’re topped with a generous serving of spring onions, spongy tofu, and cucumber slivers that lighten the nutty earthiness of the creamy sesame sauce." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

We got the hand pulled noodles with pork mince and chicken peas. Absolutely delicious, the spices are very apparent. Beef brisket and beef shank are also tasty with the special noodles and hand stirred noodles. The toilet was out of order which was disappointing for a restaurant to not have a workable toilet for customers. The service was not exceptional but they were speedy. We didn't have to queue too long to get a table for a Sunday lunch time. I would recommend for the food.

Had amazing noodles with mouth watering hot and sour soup which I downed the entire bowl!! The service was super fast and convenient. The seats were placed quite close to each other which can be a little uncomfortable (I visited alone so this was a minor issue) but definitely worth the visit due to the food!!

A noodle spot in the most central part of Soho. Been a few times and the noodles were freshly made. The portion sizes were large, food came very quickly and the restaurant interior was nice and bright. Price is good for central London, at ~£16-17/ person. Expect long waits during dining hours and rude service from staff. The staff tend to order you to sit down and make you leave as soon as you finish your food, with no smile or friendliness whatsoever.

Amazing customer service. Had the hand pulled noodles and beef brisket- amazing flavours- beef brisket was tender and not soggy. Large portion size- be prepared to eat. The atmosphere was loud as it is a small space.

The soup and noodles of Lanzhou beef noodles are very good. The soup is very delicious and is recommended. In addition, the cold conch head is also a delicious choice among the appetizers.

My husband and I visited this restaurant so many times since the location is super convenient and we’re a fan of Asian noodles. This time, we tried their hand-pulled noodles with beef brisket, served with Shanxi oil, and stir-fried wontons with scallion oil, paired with tender, flavorful beef. These are the longest and thickest noodles I’ve ever had in my life! The portions are really generous, so you shouldn’t try to order too much at once. For drinks, we had lemon tea and Tsingtao beer which were quite nice. Just a quick note - there’s no option for take away, and the place is always jam-packed, so it’s not the most relaxing spot to dine.

Came here for the hype, as we had a day out with the kids. Decided let's give this a try for dinner, knowing the prices are reasonable! Everything is made fresh to order and the noodles were delicious. We ordered hand pulled beef brisket noodles and stirred pork with chickpea noodles. Food came out quick and you can see the authenticity of the dish with the numbing Szechuan peppercorn taste. It is worth coming just to try the fresh hand pulled noodles!! Menu has a decent selection of dishes and has good options for vegetarians. Will be trying again.

Super fast serving speed. Noodles are decent portioned and will definitely fill your stomach. Also quite affordable judging it is in chinatown. All the staff also speaks chinese so it is quite a sweet bonus.
