The Best Sushi in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"With the original location in the Super H Mart complex in Doraville, this sushi restaurant offers traditional Japanese dishes, including several sushi options delivered to diners via a conveyor belt. Simply grab the desired plates from the revolving selection, eat, and pay using the touchscreen at the seat. Specific items can also be ordered by touchscreen and delivered to your table on a conveyor belt. A second location is in Buford, with a third location now open in West Midtown at the Interlock Tower on Northside Drive." - Eater Staff

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar - Review - Chamblee - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Doraville is definitely not Tokyo, but when you want to forget that for a while and eat some really good sushi at the same time, go to Kura for lunch or dinner. This Japanese spot is also a great option for when you don’t feel like speaking to another actual human being, since all of the ordering is done on a touchscreen at your table and your food is delivered to you via conveyor belt. And while those two details might make you think of eating at the airport, the large selection of nigiri, specialty rolls, and hand rolls are all really excellent. For those who don’t want sushi, Kura also serves ramen, udon, and tempura." - Sarah Bailey

Great place to stop if you’re in the area. On weekends it’s super busy so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. It’s located in a shopping center with a shared parking lot, so parking can be tricky. The food was good and the experience is fun. It’s great for kids! I would recommend the youngest age being 4 and up. They have a friendly robot server who will bring your drinks. Actual servers will come and give you refills and answer questions you might have. My daughter won a cute charm because we ate enough plates. Will be back!

Google
My first time at revolving sushi. I loved it. The choices and the price where just right. Very delicious. Bring friends to rack up plates because you can get cute prizes if you eat 15 to 25 plates. I ate 20 plates for $70 and honestly that's not terrible. I was VERY FULL

Jessica

Google
Great sushi. Friendly staff, quick service. Our first time here. Family of 4,we ate from the revolving Sushi & ordered a few things from the menu. After tip it was just over $100.00. Sushi was fresh, and such a great amount of options. I highly recommend checking them out.

Google
It nails the "cool concept" part. The conveyor belt delivery system and the little plates adding up to prizes are a lot of fun. It's a unique and entertaining dining experience. However, if you're going for the sushi itself, there are more misses than hits. Some of the rolls and nigiri were decent. The ramen was meh at best.

Google
Always delish! We've been going to Kura for years and it's always been a wonderful experience. This visit it was clear they've been working on upgrades! I love the option to order from your phone at the table, the new menu layout is wonderful, and the food is just as tasty as ever. Always a great experience!

Google
The spouse and I tried Kura Revolving Sushi Bar on a recommendation. I’m so glad we did! Everything we had was so good! Every dish looked exactly like the image and tasted so fresh! It was also so nice to see some vegetarian options available, and I gave them a try. Even though the closest location is going to be a drive of at least 4 hours, I downloaded the app so that I can be prepared for my next visit.

Google
A really fun place to dine. It was a busy day, but we were seated immediately. We ordered off the tablet at our table. Drinks were delivered by robots. My guest ordered off the menu, and her dish arrived by conveyor belt. I chose to dine from the revolving belt. Many sushi classics and many creative types. Highly recommend! Check-in out is a breeze as well using the tablet.

Google
Such a fun spot for sushi! You can pick off anything that you like from the conveyor belt or order specific dishes that will be sent directly to your table on a separate conveyor. All of the sushi was fresh and tasty, and it was entertaining trying so many different kinds. This is definitely a cool place to check out if you love sushi!

Yelp
Great food and super fast service. The atmosphere was also really nice. Skyler was especially super helpful!!!

Yelp
--Location/Parking-- Plenty of parking on the shopping area with a huge H-Mart. There are A LOT of parking spots, just remember where you parked. --Ambiance-- Great fun vibe, with a funny anime character on your order screen. There is also a robot that delivers your drinks to you. Great time for the kids. Plus, any orders you make that is not on the rotating conveyor belt is delivered by sliding down a one conveyor. Convenient and fun. --Service/Staff-- With ordering through the touch screen and the conveyor belt. Much of the staff interaction can be limited. The service can be hit or miss by the high school demographic of the server. --Food/Products-- Not the best sushi but the quickest and average quality sushi. Sometimes the sushi came out still cold or slightly frozen from the frigerated. When you order them and you can tell it hasn't been touched on the conveyor belt. --Capacity-- Plenty of bar seating that can hold at least 30 plus people and not counting the booth seating, which I couldn't see another section of the restaurant. --Overall-- Recommend for their ~$3.00 sushi plate and quick start of getting sushi right away.

Yelp
2 years since my last review. The salmon should not leak orange water or taste fishy. The eel had a weird mushy, grainy texture. Beef was practically jerky. I am....concerned. Everything tasted left out and from last night though I got here 30min after opening. They have a health score of 82/100 and the reasons why are leading me to try elsewhere from now on.

Yelp
Haven't been here in awhile Much better than I remembered Service very helpful , attentive Food selection improved more widely. They keep it fresh by not keeping out as much (at lunch). So might have to wait for your choice, but can simply order from screen quickly- after you see empty dish. The most popular do come around frequently. Pricing ok fair Parking lot large No wait at lunch

Yelp
So I absolutely love this concept. You have a seat and there's plenty of plates on a belt that have labels. You can just grab plates of sushi, fish, sweets, various appetizers. They are small plates and it's fun to mix and match or try new things. Everything was cooked deliciously well and well seasoned. They also have an iPad screen so you can also choose your drinks which a robot will deliver. Then if you want hot food items you can also order those and it'll arrive on the top layer of the belt. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen. I would say they overcooked the pork which I removed but the broth and the noodles were perfect. Tasty ramen regardless. The ambiance is nice. They have booth style seating as well as for my folks who love to treat themselves to a solo date. Everything is very futuristic so don't be alarmed by the robots or the automated mic from the tv letting you know your food is on the way. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
I like Kura Sushi a lot despite not really eating seafood. I just eat a lot of the not seafood items here and it's a lot of beef! But most everything has been pretty tasty. I really liked this one special beef one I got with a lot of pepper on the beef. I have also ordered udon before (not this trip) and it's a little on the pricier side $10 for a small bowl but it is good and rather clean (I don't like a lot of random stuff in my udon). Every 15 plates gives you a prize from the box above. There is a screen where you can outright purchase most of the prizes if you really are gunning for one in particular. I find the prizes to be hit or miss - the pins/can badges and stickers are less cool IMO but I really like the keychains and figurines if we can snag those!

Yelp
I've gone here multiple times in the hopes of it hitting the spot. I think it ropes me back in because I love the revolving line. It's just so much fun! The inside is definitely very clean from what we could tell. However, our luck must be terrible because we are always sat at the tables at end of the line, and everything is gone by the time it gets to us. We do order on the tablet at the top of the table, but it does take some of the fun out. Of course, the train that takes the food right to you is great! The sushi here is just ok. For the price, you can definitely find better tasting and quality sushi at different restaurants. However, if you want to put in little thought and just have a little fun with your meal, this is definitely the place.

Yelp
Sadly- I didn't get pictures of the food except with my kids in it. We have visited both the West Midtown and Chamblee locations. Both are similar in terms of quality of the food, cleanliness, and service. If you want a fun experience that is pretty unique here in the Atlanta area- this is a great place. We took our 5 and 8 year old for a birthday dinner, and they had a blast ordering things that came to us from the kitchen on the "express" belt, picking from the standard revolving items, and getting drinks delivered from the cute robot. We ended up spending a little over $100 for 5 people and we definitely went WAY overboard just for the experience. Could easily spend half that and be happy and full. The quality of the sushi is fine but not top tier. There's a decent variety of standard options to choose from, and you can order from a full menu in addition to the rotating items. They also have plenty of non-sushi options. We will be back again!

Yelp
I've been wanting to dine at Kura for years, and I was finally in the area this day. After being seated, the host took the time to explain how to order and how to pick up the plated from the conveyor belt. There were so many options of sushi and sides for only $3.30 per plate. Everything was really good and fresh for the most part. The beef udon was the star of the night for me. The broth was very light but so flavorful. The restaurant was a little overwhelming at first, but I had such a great night and left really full. Also, I didn't know until after I paid that you receive a prize after eating 15 small plates total.

Yelp
Price hike warning. A lot of menu items increased in price. The Ramen used to be $5-6 and was an excellent value but now it's $10. It's not worth it for that much now. The other items that were $6-6.50 are now $8. I can't recall the cost per plate but it's now $3.30. You guys have robots doing half your work now and reducing your staff and we're practically serving ourselves while busting our own tables in a gotcha game goal to "win a price" which is impossible to achieve if you're alone. Also, I'm writing this while sitting on my toilet after eating here. Pretty sure the "hamburg steak" is what did that. This was the most vile tasting option I've ever had from your place. Even with such bad things said, you're my favorite place to get revolving sushi. It's quick, convenient to pay through Apple Pay, you have cute robots and it's fun. Just please think again about the costs.

Yelp
Kura is a fun experience. The revolving belt is amusing to watch. You don't have to wait for items on the belt, either! You can order from the screen at your table, and there another belt above the rotating belt that sends your food to your table. Every 5 little plates you push down the chute, you get a cartoon on the screen, which is part of a little story. Every 15, you get a prize from the box above the screen. Our prize box wasn't working, and it was really easy to tell a server that it wasn't working. She left and returned promptly with two prizes for the inconvenience. All the food was delicious and enjoyed by me and my party (three adults, 4 teenagers between 12-17). While I didn't enjoy all the dishes I selected, that's on me, not them. Not every sushi is for every palate. Heck, sushi in general is not for every palate. My son (13) tried sushi for the very first time - tried two different rolls, in fact, and it wasn't for him, so he ordered a Ramen bowl, and he definitely enjoyed that! Would I go again? Absolutely!

Yelp
Always a great experience with great service. The parking lot has ample parking. This is the sort of place you can come in and have a completely automated experience, paying & ordering drinks via the screen. If there's something you don't see on the conveyer belt that you want, order it via the screen. The only thing I didn't like was the Japanese Mayo, because it had a lemony taste I didn't prefer. But that's just a personal preference.

Yelp
We've been fans of Kura for a long time, but during our visit tonight, the restaurant felt less clean than in our previous trips. The surfaces next to the conveyor belt had dust and sticky patches, and the window between the rows of tables was dusty. The plate slot had food collected around it and clearly had not been cleaned when the table was bussed, and the lid on the ginger container was dirty. I trusted that the sushi coming out of the kitchen under domes was ok, but I hesitated to order from the menu based on how dirty the delivery belt area was. Makes me hesitant for our next trip! Feels like the whole place needs a deep clean.

Yelp
can't wait to come back to chamblee and get me some kura!! amazing sushi and food for an unbeatable price and fun experience at the same time!!
google avatar

Yelp
The Basics: Kura is a revolving sushi restaurant on Peachtree Road in Doraville. This restaurant is an experience! Sushi and other treats come around on a conveyer belt to all seating in the restaurant. You can also order items through a touch screen that either don't come around on the conveyer belt (like ramen) or items you haven't seen on the belt yet. Drinks and other food items come via robot! This restaurant is so fun and the food is delicious too! Things I like: The atmosphere of this restaurant is so fun. I always love visiting, the food is great, and there is a large variety to choose from. The quality of the sushi is surprisingly good for how much is made at a time! As a tip, use the app to get on the waitlist! Things I didn't like: Nothing! This is one of my favorite spots to visit! Overall, I love Kura! It is the perfect place to visit for good food and a fun meal.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Nice big location compared to the other Kura's that I have been to. -Service was very slow to get refills at the table even with the refill buttons pressed. - conveyor belt line has a lot of dust still on it and the tables were less than clean - servers start putting up chairs while patrons were still eating well before 30 mins before close. I'd go elsewhere for great sushi but the conveyor belt is a novelty

Yelp
January New Try I told myself every month this year, I am trying some place new. Kura was my January spot. Never been, just happened upon it by accident. So glad I made myself go. First of all, this place is BUSY! But the staff was very nice and offered the bar countertop as an option to sit at. So, me, myself and I took the counter. I ordered my lemonade and the robot brought it right to me. I scrolled the menu on the screen above me and selected some options to try. You can't really see the pictures too big but I got the gist of it in no time. Truth be told, I don't have a clue what all I ordered. I ordered sushi, a beef dish, salmon crunchy roll and fried scallops. I was just ordering like there was no tomorrow. The food came out fast and stopped directly in front of me. It literally could not be easier. My only complaint is that the sushi didn't have a price on it like the other dishes, so I truly had no idea how much it was (Side note: it's $3.30 per order) I tried something different in the salmon crunchy roll- didn't like that at all. But at least I tried it. Everything else was delicious. I was full, I was happy and then my bill came. Smh- I spent $45.... Needless to say- I was SHOCKED. It's not that this place is expensive but everything does add up. So please keep that in mind and don't do what I did lol. Overall, it's a fun atmosphere for family, solo or whatever. It was clean, the staff was friendly. It's very self sufficient and just a good place to try. I would absolutely go back. Grade: A

Yelp
I really this experience it was fun with delicious sushi. Pulling food from the revolving belt was unique. We received food ordered quickly. Information was provided how to order. And the overall atmosphere was fun with anime type decor. My fave things were fresh crab handroll and matcha strawberry ice cream.

Yelp
Had a chance to check out Kura Revolving Sushi Bar again and just like last time it was a wonderful experience, let me tell you why... Just as the name says it's a revolving sushi bar. This conveyor belt rotates fresh handmade sushi around constantly being prepared by the awesome sushi chefs in the back. You can literally grab as many plates as you like. Every plate is about $3.50 per plate and for every 15 plates you drop them in the little shoot and a prize falls down. This one was We Bare Bears! But it's not all just sushi. You can order Ramen and even different assortment of desserts. Needless to say we enjoyed this place! Only grips is the staff could be a bit better they seemed to not want to be bothered even though when we got there it wasn't very busy and we were sat immediately. Oh also there is this little cute waiter robot that roles around and brings you your drinks and stuff and it winks and talks to you. It's pretty cool and I have video of it as well. Go check this place out for lunch and or dinner you won't be disappointed. 8.5/10

Yelp
Mixed Bag of Fun and Frustrations - Kura offers an entertaining revolving sushi experience, but the fish quality doesn't quite justify the price. While it's a lively spot, service is a bit of a miss - had to flag staff for basics like water and soy sauce, with a delay in delivery. Ordering from the screen adds variety, including special dishes not on the belt. The automated payment system is convenient, making settling the bill a breeze. It's worth noting the place can get busy, but the waitlist kiosk at the front helps manage crowds. Overall, a unique experience for guests seeking something different, despite a few service quirks.
google avatar

Gina B.

Yelp
I've been several times and I love the concept! I don't eat much typically so being able to get a "sampler platter" basically of small, different sushi varieties without spending a fortune is a HUGE PLUS! Cha Ching! This time I was "adventurous" by trying something I had to google to find out it was! Fried Takoyaki - octopus drizzled in takoyaki sauce and yuzu cream sauce. It was delish! Service - well, you get served by a robot for drinks and of course you pick your own sushi from the revolving belt. Always busy but with the app you can check wait times and even put your name on the list before you get there!
google avatar

Richard M.

Yelp
Don't come to Kura Sushi expecting high-grade sushi. They serve ho-hum uninspired sushi. Yet interestingly enough, I still enjoy the Kura Sushi experience. Ultimately, it's just fun, in my opinion. I enjoy the revolving/conveyor belt concept and the touchscreen ordering process. I love being able to order French Fries with my sushi, even though their fries are just OK. Their meat-based sushi, such as their seared beef with yakiniku sauce and the umami oil seared beef, makes me smile. The serving robots cruising the aisles offer a nice touch. So for me, while the food is mediocre, the overall experience is enjoyable. And it's also quite affordable... I've been to their locations multiple times in Georgia (Doraville), Tokyo, and Osaka. I just keep coming back...

Yelp
My husband and I always make reservations on the mobile app before heading to the restaurant to avoid long waiting times. To start off, a robot comes by with your drink order. Just take your items and it will be on its way! How to get your food: (1) You can either grab the sushi directly off the revolving conveyor belt, or (2) Place an order on the screen and it zooms to you on a separate track moments later. Once you're done, you will need to dispose your empty plates by sticking them into the plate slot (which automatically counts to calculate your bill). If you have enough plates (15), you get a toy capsule prize to take home! This place doesn't have high quality fish, but it's the perfect way to enjoy quick and affordable sushi. The udon and desserts are pretty good too! Altogether it makes for a fun atmosphere. My husband and I always enjoy our visits here.
google avatar

Sheena G.

Yelp
This place is so cute! Staff is hands off but there when you need them right away. I have been twice, soon after opening on a weekday. So easy to park and sat right away. Everything was fresh and available in a hurry. Alot of the same rolls (tuna, salmon, shrimp, crab) but many variations. I really enjoyed it and thought the prices were extremely reasonable. A little cute robot serves your drinks!
google avatar

Lydia K.

Yelp
So my second experience here wasn't as great as the previous one. Might be because the first time i came here was on a Monday night and today we decided to come by on a Saturday night . The restaurant was packed and the host kept skipping my party, it was only 2 of us. We were seated by the door and the belt was mostly empty, we waited a long time for the plates to be refilled, we ended up ordering from the menu and have delivered to our table. The food still tastes great, but if you want a quicker, more enjoyable experience, come on a Monday night.
google avatar

Allison S.

Yelp
Food was okay, little cold, but we did go on a weekday. The actually place is in an awesome spot and if you don't mind the sushi being cold and little old then would recommend. My husband loved, but it was mid to me. Only really saw a server once when we needed drinks refilled and didn't take too long to get them refilled.
google avatar

Rose F.

Yelp
Kura Sushi bathroom - Urine all over the floor. Nasty!!! Asked for refill on green tea and server said they charge by the glass! $5 - what????
google avatar

Ishara F.

Yelp
Most of the plates that came around to us were empty. Maybe it depends on where you sit and if the people who sit in front of you want to take every item off of the conveyor... We barely got to try anything aside from the hot food we ordered from the screen.
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
I think this place is fine. Not stellar, but I keep coming back because it's so easy to get a wide variety of good sushi. Price is now 3.35 per plate though, so keep that in mind. I have found the experience here to be consistent, solid, and tasty.

Yelp
Been to a few Kura Sushi in Asia. This is no where near as good and far more expensive, with Americanized menu.

Yelp
If you're looking to try conveyor belt sushi, this is the spot. Kura offers a variety of dishes - hot food, small bites, nigiri, roll, gunkan and dessert. With every 5 plates, the tablet device will play a cute animated clip. With every 15 plates, a prize capsule dispenses from the gachapon/gashapon machine. There is also the option to buy a prize capsule if there is a design you specifically want. I did this for the My Hero Academia (Boku no Hīrō Akademia) limited time lanyard. Kura often hosts special promotions for the theme of the prizes (e.g. Lego, Sanrio, anime, etc.), enticing customers to come back for these limited time events. It can get very busy with long wait times when you come for dinner and during the weekends. I recommended downloading the Kura Sushi app to join the waitlist ahead of time so you're not waiting 40+ minutes with nothing to do. The restaurant offers a loyalty program called the Kura Rewards Club, which allows customers to earn points for each visit and redeem them for free dishes or other rewards. These points are all collected and redeemed using the app. I love the nigiris. My favorite is definitely the garlic ponzu, but all the options are pretty yummy (check my photos for more recs). The only thing I try to avoid are the rolls. In my opinion, they aren't worth it because they don't taste that good and I'd rather get plates that highlight the freshness of the fish. I used to come here all the time with friends, and it looks like they recently renovated the entire shop (new seats, tables, black wood instead of the previous dark brown wood). Prices continue to increase which is upsetting. It used to be $2.75 per plate to $3.20 (as of February 2023). This is a good place to come if you aren't too hungry and want a few pieces of sushi or if you just want to experience conveyor belt sushi. Otherwise, I wouldn't come here for the sushi alone, even though the quality is good. For the price point, you are definitely paying for the sushi and experience, so it can be pricier than just ordering sushi at another restaurant.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here for the first time after seeing videos on YouTube for years of sushi bars like this. If anyone has a doubt in their mind that you won't enjoy the food I'm here to tell you it's fantastic. The whole environment was so much fun and the sushi was fantastic. I wish I could rate this even more than 5 stars.

Yelp
Loved this place! I came here Sunday night and it was a great experience! ***LOCATION*** Doraville right next to Hmart. There's a large shopping center with lots of restaurants and boba spots. Plenty of free parking! ***ATMOSPHERE*** It was not too quiet and not too loud. Of course the rotating sushi is what makes it so unique + the robot servers! When you come in you may have to put your name in a wait a min. After, you'll be seated by a hostess who will explain everything. Then you just have a screen at your table and you just tap whatever you want. The robot brings out the drinks when you order them. Otherwise, sushi plates rotate and you can grab whatever. Each plate is 3.30$ They also have other food items you can order on the screen that will be sent out on a belt above the sushi and stop at your table. I just loved it because you can order at your own pace and just keep adding whatever or grabbing plates and they're delivered almost immediately. There's no wait and no getting up! The tablet keeps track of drinks and other dishes ordered, otherwise, the 3.30$ plates go into a slot at your table and it counts them for you. It is super easy to pay on your phone and everyone at the table can easily select their items and pay however many ways you'd like! ***FOOD*** The food was delicious! My only complaint would be the lack of vegetarian options. I ordered the sushi with just cucumber but I didn't love the way it was cut. It was in more of a thin Ling tube rather than a thin circle. It was like an itsy bitsy burrito shape vs traditional sushi circle. I only didn't like this because it was a little long but if you don't eat it in one bite, it's too hard to break the seaweed with your teeth without it all falling out. Pretty minor detail but it def made a difference. And I'd have loved to see more avocados various vegetarian sushi options instead of just cucumber. They did have these wrap-triangle like vegetarian options but I really love the traditional sushi shape with avocado, cucumber and cheese. If they had that I would come here daily I swear haha. Besides that, I tried the ramen that had udon noodles and tofu but just to be honest the tofu was the worst I have ever had. It was like a thin piece of cardboard that had been soaking in water. The noodles and broth were okay but it kind of tasted like a cheap version of ramen. It was edible but I was a little disappointed in the taste. Not a huge deal since their thing is more sushi I don't need to order ramen, I just did so I could try another veggie option. The price was cheap though. I think 8$ for the bowl. But next time I would definitely stick to sushi! The desserts though... the mochi was delicious as well as the sesame balls! I ordered 2 servings of mochi ahahah ***CONCLUSION*** I love love love the concept and the food was good and reasonably priced! I will definitely be back just wish they had a few more veggie options :)

Yelp
If you've never been to a revolving sushi bar and want to try it, visit any location and you will not be disappointed. I normally go to Las Vegas location and got excited when I found out there's one here in GA! I've been to many revolving sushi bars and by far Kura is the most high tech and the selection of sushi menu is diverse! Very creative! In addition,, checkout the Saimin (Ramen) menu !!! My favorite is Tonkotsu Ramen!!! You love garlic? This is the Ramen for you! I can never make it to 6+ sushi but that just means I have to come back !!! Definitely a great family experience. Cost is fair but don't go hungry lol On another note --- It does get busy, you must check in I like the bar area... love the feel of the restaurant but servers don't really come by and check on you (hands off type of serving). But they do pay attention to cleaning up the area when needed and providing water refills

Yelp
I passed by this restaurant several times and was excited to finally try it during lunch on a Saturday. Unfortunately, this was the worst revolving sushi bar I've ever experienced. The prices were affordable, but the sushi tasted average. We were there for more than an hour and barely got to try much because most of the plates were empty by the time they passed us on the conveyor belt. We ordered a dish from the computer in front of us, and we received the wrong item. On top of it, our table was slightly dirty, and it took a while to get an employee's attention just to get a refill on our water.

Yelp
Food and service was great. A super convenient restaurant as well. Especially recommend the beef options such as the American wagyu sushi and beef ramen. Both were delicious!

Yelp
This is a very fun experience that everyone should have! It's uncomplicated. The customer takes desired plates off of the revolving line as they come by the table. They're sorted by type. There's also a screen to order specific items. Those items come on a separate revolving line. The customer puts empty plates into a slots that counts the plates to sum up the bill. There is a server that brings drinks and can provide additional help. The sushi on the belt is maybe a 3.5... some pieces are better than others. They have some aburi type sushi that is very delicious and harder to find in the Atlanta area. For what you get, prices are pretty high. The plates add up quickly, so it ends up being a lot more expensive to get full than our same quality go-to sushi spot. That being said, it's a fun place to be and you can try all kinds of new things!

Yelp
Been to this Kura consistently ever since they opened up a few years ago. The quality has gone done a bit, but the experience is still worth going for and introducing people to the revolving sushi experience. The price of plates has kept increasing over the years and they are now $3.30 per plate. Most of the sushi rolls are pretty standard, same with the nigiri, but my personal recommendations are the Eel nigiri and the Garlic Ponzu Salmon nigiri. The handrolls are also a fun concept and pretty filling for the amount. Really fun concept and I like being friends here for their first time to see the revolving sushi, the server robot, and the overall nice atmosphere of the restaurant has little downsides. The biggest cons are the quality have gone down while the prices have gone up significantly.

Yelp
Our family thought of Kura as a last minute dinner at 6pm. The food was decent, but 20mins after eating, I felt chilly, sleepy, and had a bad stomachache. I ended up throwing up 2 times at 8pm and once the next day in the early morning. I will not be coming back.

Yelp
I am in between a 4 star (experience) and 3 star (food options)... the food was a let down, hoping they add to the menu items to increase their ratings Plenty of free parking in the Super Hmart plaza. When you enter the restaurant you can sign in electronically on the tablet and you receive a text. The server seats you and most everything is electronically done thereafter. We chose a booth, but there is bartop style seating facing in towards the sushi belt. The menu is on a tablet above the tables with a few hot items from the kitchen. We ordered Sapporo on draft, $4.95 for the 12 oz and $5.65 for the 16 oz (go with the 16- its super chilled and full). We also ordered the beef dish over rice which was very small in portion but enough for a non-sushi eater to fill up. The sushi options on the conveyor belt sit on a small plate in a glass dome - push down on the plexi glass dome and the case pops open and you slide out the plate. There are sushi, egg, tofu, beef tartare, edamame, and desert options on the belt. The desert options were cheesecake and a custard tart. The current plate prices are $3.20 for every plate, drop them into the slot for the final tally. After 15 plates (about $50) the plastic egg prize drops and a very (very) cheap toy pops out- a cheap key chain. Check out was easy - I used apple pay from the touch screen menu and we were out the door as quick as we got in. For my sushi picks I had the Texas sushi, seared tuna, dragon salmon, and a philly roll. Nothing to write home about, very bland, very meh, very blah. And they never did send out with that crispy rice and tuna :-/ An automated robot brings out beverages, but a server brings the alcohol. After enough ice cold Sapporos the sushi tasted pretty good and we had a great time. We had a good time here, family friendly.

Yelp
WORST sushi place in town, with the worst customer service. Save yourself some time and money and never step in this place!!! I barely give one star, and I am always supportive of businesses, but this restaurant was a complete disaster, and when I brought up the issues to the manager, she was so rude and completely ignored me. Basically, we came here for the experience, and after waiting 40 minutes to get seated, we sat down, and nothing was coming up! The belt was not getting stocked, and we had to order through the tablet. We waited for the robot to bring our drinks, and it took forever. Then, the robot came, and we didn't get any soy sauce. Then we got our food and raw fish on sushi, which was very old and smelled nasty. Nothing had a decent quality, and I was afraid after eating that raw fish to get sick. Anyhow, the list goes on!

Yelp
I cannot visit Atlanta without coming here! The price and quality of this sushi is unbeatable. Lunch and dinner time can be busy, so make sure you get on the waitlist ahead of time if you're in a rush. Each table is equipped with an iPad to order your food (and now drinks) ti your table. The drinks are served via robot, its pretty cool! The garlic ponzu salmon nigiri is my favorite! The salmon is high quality and super fresh. The tiger roll is always ordered at our table. Note that these are not full size rolls, they typically come with two to four pieces per order. They also have ramen and udon noodle soups for the non sushi eaters... But let's be real, who comes here and doesn't eat sushi? Do not forget to save room for the Taiyaki Ice Cream, I cannot emphasize this enough! They come out pipping hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dab of red bean paste. The crunchy exterior with the warm gooey red bean filling is a 10/10. I would come just to have this and the nigiri.

Yelp
Significant price hike, that it's not worth eating here anymore. Kura used to be a fun spot where you could eat your fill without breaking your wallet at $2.50/plate. I understand that due to inflation they had to raise their prices, but $3.30/plate is crazy. In terms of sushi, you are simply better off eating at a normal sushi restaurant. Come here if you just want a novelty experience. Expect to pay $40/person when you come in hungry.

Yelp
So fun! I took my son that loves sushi here for his 10th birthday. We had so much fun watching what was coming on the conveyer belt and also ordering our own selections on the screen. At five plates a little cartoon plays and at fifteen plates you get a prize. Overall, the experience was a lot of fun especially for a family. The robot that brought drinks was an exciting experience for kids and by the look of the wait and line to be seated this is a popular choice in the area. The sushi was all very good. Our favorite was the tiger roll. Pricing was reasonable. The only thing that had me give one star less was the plate slot and general area below the conveyor belt where you insert plates was not very clean. I also was not a fan of the community wasabi that sat next to the napkins. I also wanted to note that I did see in years past reviews on here that their health score was not good. I did my research beforehand and am happy to report their current score is 98. :)

Yelp
First time having revolving sushi!! Very friendly staff and quick service! Best thing was that sushi prices were very affordable and filling! I had 4 plates but I was super full and even had a dessert and takoyaki. Everything for only less than $20! I definitely recommend this place for people who want to try it but don't have anybody to go with. They have individual booth for people that want to be alone or undisturbed. The sushi selection is really big. I'll definitely go back!

Yelp
I was really looking forward to trying out a revolving sushi bar in Atlanta. I had pretty stable expectations for the sushi (I was hoping for higher than grocery store, but much less than Shoya Izakaya next door), and Kura hit a bit below my expectations. I really love the concept and execution of the concept, though, and having a place for a wide variety of sushi at a quick pace and moderate price sounds like a really good idea. I even got to try a couple options that I've never noticed before on a menu, specifically, all of the gungkan (chopped smaller pieces of meat atop rice like nigiri but wrapped in nori seaweed like maki to the meat stays in place). I tried with Tuna Yukhoe Gunkan, which has an egg yolk with the raw tuna and the real crab gunkan. Both were underwhelming and under seasoned. The under seasoning was a trend with most of the sushi, and the rice was not moist or tender enough. The soy sauce available helped with many of my bites. I tried a few other nigiri and maki and the fries, which were a real winner. I really liked the caterpillar roll (unagi and avocado with eel sauce) and the tuna otoro. The otoro is the fattiest cut available and it had great flavor and butteriness, but there was a tension in the texture that is not ideal for any sushi. If I lived closer and planned to come back, I'd be interested in trying their non-sushi options. As it happens, I got food poisoning from our visit at Kura, which I'm very hesitant to share because I know it can kinda happen to anyone, but I do think it's important to mention. I wouldn't expect to get food poisoning again, but it is something I hope sushi restaurants would keep an especially close eye out for. Service was quick, I loved the adorable robot that brought our drinks, and the hot green tea hit the spot. I might consider bringing my kids for a fun time and just have them stick with the cooked options. Otherwise, I'll stick with other sushi options myself.

Yelp
Delicious food, robot servers, and family oriented. It can be a bit loud/overwhelming/busy, but I'd like to go more regularly.

Yelp
I've been to this Kura a few times now and enjoy it each time I do. Pros: - The cooked rolls are tasty and they have a wide variety of raw nigiri for those who enjoy it. - They also have cooked beef, uni, and yukhoe nigiri, which I don't see often at other revolving sushi places. - The revolving plates are fun once you get the hang of them. - Ordering from the computer is easy and fast, so you don't need to worry if you're sat at one of the ends. - They have a wide variety of soups and desserts too, although I haven't really gotten to try any. - The robots serving drinks are cute. Cons: - Parking will be bad, so plan to walk. - The aisles between tables are really narrow, so you will oftentimes have to stop and wait for servers, etc. to pass by before you can move forward. You can tell that the servers get annoyed by getting stuck behind people who are trying to get to and from their seats, the bathroom, etc. I don't mind waiting, but it makes me feel awkward and bad for the staff. If you are in a wheelchair, I'd take this into consideration. - The quality of sushi is up for debate, so maybe don't bring sushi conissours here, haha. But most of it is good for regular people. - Despite what I just said, the crab nigiri and gunkan are not good. I LOVE crab, but I dont like these sushi. The crab gunkan is oversalted, wet, and cold. It's like getting a mouth of cold sea water. The crab nigiri is dry and "tastes like they ran it under a sink to rinse all the flavor out," according to my spouse. Kura has their oddities to look out for and consider, but I still really enjoy going each time. I do definitely recommend going to try it out for yourself.
