Kura Revolving Sushi Bar Review - Chamblee - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Doraville is definitely not Tokyo, but when you want to forget that for a while and eat some really good sushi at the same time, go to Kura for lunch or dinner. This Japanese spot is also a great option for when you don’t feel like speaking to another actual human being, since all of the ordering is done on a touchscreen at your table and your food is delivered to you via conveyor belt. And while those two details might make you think of eating at the airport, the large selection of nigiri, specialty rolls, and hand rolls are all really excellent. For those who don’t want sushi, Kura also serves ramen, udon, and tempura." - Sarah Bailey

atmosphere. The experience overall was really enjoyable ,everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. Just be aware: the portions are small, so you might not feel how much you’ve eaten until the plates pile up 😅 I ended up with 17 plates and a total bill of $74.44 ,, but honestly, I had a great time and left happy. Definitely worth trying if you're in the mood for sushi and a nice vibe!

Rodrigo “funning”

Google
A solid sushi spot with a revolving service. Great quality fish and ingredients, an excellent lunch spot. I believe we hit 30 plates and it was well worth it. Ordering is easy and getting the sushi was fast. Just wait for the ones you want and get it or just directly order it. I’d definitely come back here again for my sushi fix.

Google
Mostly excellent, though the ordered sushi often resulted in better made sushi. Fun experience with robots serving water too!

Google
i got the spider roll, garlic skipjack tuna, seared southern bluefin toro and kazunoko gunkan and they were all DELICIOUS. $3.95 for 2 pieces of each dish! cannot recommend a better place to get sushi!

Hakobi

Google
I am not a sushi person so I got the tantanmen ramen. It was good. I’d say it’s a bit small for the price it was ($12) I also did not know there would be peanuts (I’m not much of a fan of peanuts in ramen) but I still enjoyed it. The restaurant itself was small but cute. Servers were very quick which was nice! I will say it is a bit annoying any time you have to go to the bathroom you have to ask them to open it (they don’t give you the code which I kind of understand but still frustrating)

Google
Food was really 👌🏻. The service was amazing! The atmosphere was great. The restaurant was super clean. Even the restrooms were clean. 10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend.

Google
Probably one of the best sushi places we have been to! We loved their lemon sushi and the waiters provided us with excellent service. Loved the show cooking 🧑‍🍳. That is a place we will definitely go back to when visiting LA!

Google
Love the food and the atmosphere. You get to choose from many dishes which are freshly made in front of you. You learn to grab, go and eat while being rewarded as you drop and turn in your plates. There’s a robot server and it’s adorable. The price is reasonable and perfect portions to eat. Parking is hard to get but it’s all around.

Yelp
If you're in Little Tokyo and craving sushi with a side of fun, Kura is a must-visit. The experience is half the appeal -- conveyor belts zipping plates around, a robotic arm delivering your custom orders, and prizes popping out after every 15 plates. Yes, it's basically sushi meets arcade. The food: Super consistent. The salmon belly melts in your mouth, and the crispy rice with spicy tuna is a sleeper hit. Everything is fresh, and while it's not omakase-level, the quality for the price is unbeatable. The server Kelly is the Besstttt! Love Her!

Yelp
Insanely great atmosphere for friends to eat together and server Michelle was the best. Very open to even most last minute changes and was extremely polite to everyone.

Carlos V.

Yelp
We appreciated the wonderful service from the staff, Kelly stood out. Truth be told, the robot delivering the ice tea to the table startled me. Solid selection of food. It was fun

Yelp
What a cute place! This was my first time here and it was an experience. We did have a slight wait but Erika accommodated us beautifully. She made sure we got a table since it was my birthday. My friend and I got explained how everything worked. Erika was attentive and patient. If you're looking for a cool experience come here. There's an interesting dish with beef. The seared beef with yakiniku sauce was so good.

Yelp
I'll admit it, Kura Sushi isn't the best sushi out there, but I still love coming here. Conveyor belt sushi just hits home for me. The setup is fun, especially being able to grab plates as they pass by or order from the touchscreen and have it delivered straight to your seat. All the plates are the same price, which makes it easy for first-timers. I usually smash around 10 to 15 plates when I visit. If you hit 15, you get a little prize nothing major, maybe a keychain or a sticker, but it's a fun bonus. Some of my go-to items are the Hokkaido scallop, American wagyu (gunkan style), seared scallop with Japanese mayo, sea bream with yuzu pepper, and the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp. Also, the wasabi mix here is fire -- super potent and actually has a kick. Kura's definitely one of those spots I enjoy from time to time when I want a quick no frills , casual sushi fix.

Yelp
I've eaten here 2 times now and have to say I love the experience of the revolving sushi bar. Ive tried quite a few revolving sushi bars, bullet train conveyor belt sushi bars and revolving Korean bbq bars. The food here is very affordable for the sushi quality they're giving you. Mind you this isn't 5 star Michelin level sushi, it's everyday handmade sushi ready to eat. Sushi - I've tried multiple items here and have a few favorite items. The umami oil seared beef nigiri, snow crab leg nigiri, American wagyu nigiri, shrimp nigiri; crunchy roll, rainbow roll and caterpillar roll are some of my favorites here. All $3.99 per small plate. The best part - if you finish 15 small plates you win a prize. So if you come with a friend and each eat 7-8 plates you'll win in no time. Conveyor Belt - You do not have to eat plates off the conveyor belt. You can order the same conveyor belt items on the iPad in front of you to arrive fresh on a conveyor belt right above it to your table or bar space. If you don't like sushi they have a few small plate and noodle options. They also have a few dessert options that rotate out throughout the year but vanilla ice cream seems to stay consistent. Plus you come here for the sushi not the dessert. For that you can go to cafe dulce, somisomi, yamazaki bakery and many other spots in the village plaza where the restaurant is located. Parking - find street parking if you can. Just circle the block the plaza is in a square. There is also a parking garage if you don't mind paying the fees that connects to the plaza.

Yelp
We had an amazing time here. The food was served fresh and tasted great. I really liked the sushi we all had-especially the one with beef on it. Sesame seed balls were freshly made and super good. Staffs were friendly and accommodating. Bathroom was clean too. The place is kind of small, but everything else made up for it. I definitely recommend going here if you're in the area.

Yelp
I've wanted to check this place out for a while so tonight was a good excuse when my friends also wanted to go. This place is really cool, and I don't know if I've ever had faster service anywhere. The servers are great, but the magic of this place is the automated revolving dishes and a computer screen to place and instantly deliver your order on a belt at your table. The sushi was also really good! We tried so many different dishes and I enjoyed all of them. Obviously it's not the highest end sushi but for how quickly it comes out, it's really good and fresh. There's also a gamification of the meal, when you eat 15 plates (so easy to do with friends lol) there's a little vending machine that drops a prize. TLDR Overall a really good experience. Instant food on a cool belt. Not 10/10 sushi, but pretty dang good for a cheap price and cool experience. Def reccomemd

Yelp
I literally am NOT A FAN of Kura Revolving sushi locations.... HOWEVER, this one in Little Tokyo is the exception IMO. I was super satisfied with taste, and quality of rice which is the most important to me for simple sushi rolls. Other locations seem to fail but this one is GREAT! Try this one if you're new to the revolving style. I can't say much for the others such as the Diamond Jamboree location in Irvine... Yuck!

Yelp
The food here was amazing like always! Briana went above and beyond to make sure our visit was delightful.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to take the kids! If what you want doesn't come around ordering on the screen is super quick. Everything is smoothly automated but one of the servers, Brianna, was able to help us with everything else we needed.
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
Great service and excellent quality. I visited for the first time and one of my neighbors showed me how to use the conveyor belt and how to pull the plates off. So friendly and an atmosphere a real fun. Plus I think I'm getting a prize!

Yelp
Amazing Sushi with great and friendly staff! Park at, "Japanese Village Plaza Parking," if you plan to eat here for free parking for the 1st hour! Don't forget to validate lol
google avatar

Yelp
The sushi is good for revolving sushi. Service has always been great because of Michelle. She knows her regulars and always asks how we are.

Yelp
Had the most amazing service thanks to Brianna. She made my kids day! She was great and very nice. The place was very clean and can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
The service is really good here. This is my go to kura since I moved closer to LA. The food is always fresh. Some of my favorite dishes is the bluefin toro and eel with cream cheese. The best bet is to go right at opening, but you can also make a reservation if it's on a busier day. Ambiance is really nice if you sit at the table, it's like you have your own little pocket to have a good conversation with your friends. Drea was a really nice server. She was really attentive. Highly recommend coming to this Kura sushi.

Carlos C.

Yelp
The sushi was wonderful and fresh. My server Brianna was a great server, friendly, attentive creating a serene atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Great food, everything came around super quickly and was able to get all the plates that I wanted. Ordering specific plates was super easy and quick too! Briana our server was also super helpful with any questions I had since it was my first time going, great experience!

Yelp
Brianna and Kelly are amazing checking up on us, very friendly and the rest of the servers are excellent great customer service as well from Chelly and Bernardo Thank you guys keep up the friendly customer service

Yelp
First and foremost, if you go during normal dinner hours on a weekend, expect a wait. We put our name down for four at 6:30 and we're seated at 8:30. When we left there was still a wait at 10:15 pm at night! Wild. Love the revolving sushi belt and you get a toy/prize for every 15 plates ordered (which is so easy btw). The sushi variety is amazing. Lots of rolls and pro tip is that you can make a special order for specific rolls on the kiosk above the table. That's how we got 4 eel hand rolls. Special orders were made lightning fast and came out smoking on the belt for our table! I'd love to give 3.5 stars to this Kura location. Prices have increased a lot. It used to be $2 per plate, now it's $4. Inflation!! The staff is hit or miss on the friendliness scale. It seemed like the place could be cleaned a little bit more. I also immediately (within 10 minutes) had to run to the bathroom after eating a roll with kewpie mayo. My partner also had a reaction later that evening. Maybe just our stomachs but maybe the kewpie mayo. Maybe it's Maybeline.

Yelp
Been coming to this Kura location for many, many years. Even before they renovated and added the empty plates chutes at the table, when we used to have to count the stacked plates to figure out our bill. Over the years, this Kura is still always packed! Prepare to wait a long time to get seated. But you can also use their app to join the wait list early! Inside it's bustling with activity and can feel a little cramped. Food is comparable to other Kura's. Chefs are working hard in the kitchen to keep the conveyor belt full of fresh sushi dishes. Every time I come, the servers are so friendly, helpful, and quick. You can get your parking validated here too!

Ashley W.

Yelp
- Love the little sign that tells you what's in each incoming plate so we know what we're eating! - Noticed a lot of different variations of salmon if you're a salmon lover. - Their hand rolls are worth it, but the ramen is on the salty side. Very cool experience if you order something on the tablet and it arrives at your table! - My friend recommends the seared beef! - Went on a weekend, long wait time, reserved at 3pm ish for 6pm slot. - Really nice + good service of cleaning plates or answering questions.

Yelp
Food was good. Bernardo, our server, was helpful and offered great service. revolving sushi was good for the kids. They had fun grabbing what they wanted to eat

Yelp
We always have fun here! Sushi is great and fresh. Drea was always checking up on us making sure we are good on our drinks. Looking forward to when we can come back!

Flower Q.

Yelp
Food was great, love this place cause you can try a bit of everything! Has drinks + apps like edamame, gyoza, and can get a side of noodles too! Was a bit of a wait but we got sat at the bar and was honestly the better decision: individual menu in front on you (instead of to the side like a booth) and was pretty private. Cool place great experience :D
google avatar

Rhiannon H.

Yelp
Each revolving sushi plate is $3.95, you eat 15 plates and get a prize (little toy) As far as the sushi goes... it was very mid. The spicy tuna tasted seriously wrong... something was off about it. I enjoyed the salmon nigiri the most, but overall I think the sushi wasn't good quality here. There wasn't a big variety either. I did like how the sushi plates were covered as they went along. Service was a bit slow & the bathrooms must be unlocked by an employee. Table was dirty upon arrival. Overall, I think this place is definitely a tourist trap.
google avatar

Rommel L.

Yelp
Kura Sushi is always fun for the friends and family with its unique rotating sushi bar. Some certain plates are always better than others but what sets it apart are the gatcha prizes that come every 15 plates and the service. Better to follow along for the prizes that you have your eye out for. Otherwise, the bea5 part about the LA visit for me and my loved ones was the service. Our waitress Maleny was attentive to everything we needed like water refills right away. She was kind and funny answering all our little questions and joking with us with the struggles of eating plates.
google avatar

Joshua S.

Yelp
The experience I had here was truly Amazing. I came here yesterday for a meeting and was blown away with how cool the restaurant was If was about a 25 minute wait but we'll worth it! You sit down and there is a revolving center of food that comes around you! You can pick out the food you like and grab it. There is also a screen above you where you can pick out the foot you want. For your drinks you order drinks from the screen and a little robot brings you your drinks Great service, great food, great ambiance! I will be back again
google avatar

Yelp
The fish and shrimp all very fresh. But the rice was no better than get local Japanese supermarket. I have 8 plates and end be 40 or so after tax and tip. Compare some of the option around price just to high for the quality.
google avatar

Ann T.

Yelp
With its location in Little Tokyo and with the tourists and weebs, this location definitely gets crowded. If you have, I feel, more than 2 people in your party or if you need a table, it's a wait that's around an hour plus if you're there on the weekend or near dinner. Me doing a solo trip? I got seated immediately at the bar. Service was attentive and were called over quite quickly with their tablet ordering system. My main issues with this location is that they don't allow patrons to just purchase the prizes from the touch screen like they do at the Irvine location. So you really have to eat 15 plates to get that prize. Also that the fish quality wasn't the freshest, at least the ones that I took from the conveyer belt. Their toro tuna had a fishy taste to it and was leaking pink liquid (this was the case when I ended up getting 2 separate plates at 2 separate occasions during my meal). Their rolls are passable, again just different variations of a California roll. The limited cheese tamago nigiri for the Pikmin collab wasn't soft or fluffy like other tamago I've had and was a solid huge brick of egg, so I guess quantity-wise you're choosing that over quality. Their seared nigiri and beef nigiri are good as per the other Kura locations and I really liked their limited matcha anmitsu ice cream. The taste of the matcha is quite strong and goes great with the sweetness of the ice cream. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here as there's other options in Little Tokyo, but it's alright.

Yelp
Decent sushi, not the best quality but for a decent price. Came more for the experience and it definitely is fun for kids to enjoy. You could easily spend a lot here because you have sushi just passing by and it looks good so you take it. My favorite was the unagi (eel) with cream cheese, the snow crab, and caterpillar roll. I love a good o cucumber roll. I would skip the ramen cause it tasted pretty bland. They have so much choices. It is so easy & fun to order whatever you want on the ipad menu. Service was superb. Very attentive and friendly staff. Michelle is the best! They validate for parking which is a plus so we could walk around the plaza. There is always a wait but you get a text notifications to your phone allowing you to walk the plaza to kill time.
google avatar

Alice C.

Yelp
The food is very good. Even though this franchise is considered as a fast food of sushi, the sushi(along with their other food) still tastes very good. It even tastes as better as some premium sushi spots in LA. The ambience is average, and kinda weird; but it doesn't get in the way of your eating experience. The service is very good, and even better than some other restaurants that are known for their service. Our server is very kind(his name is Bernardo), as he always arrive on time when we call for him in the tablet. Overall, I surprisingly love the food and the customer services.
google avatar

Dee T.

Yelp
Love this place so much. Staff is cool even though there's a robot that assists you too. I love the revolving aspect, just grab and go. It helps you just try something new if you don't know what to try. You can also order things on the menu and it will be given to you on the revolving belt under the main one. It's really fun and I super duper recommend. Good vibes foreal!!

Yelp
We had a great experience. First time here and great service!! We enjoyed all of our choices and I would definitely come back. This place is nifty!! Thank you Kelly for being a great host!

Yelp
On your first visit here, probably add a star just for the novelty. Sushi on a conveyor belt, special orders shot right to your seat, a beverage delivery robot, self serve touch screen menu as well. Consistently, this joint has a long wait. This recent time, we waited for about 1 hour and 40 mins. It only seemed like an hour and a half. You sit down, moving past your table is a conveyor belt with all sorts of sushi (they have name placards for ID). Just grab whatever plates you want. Or order off the touch screen menu and your selected plate will come shooting to your table. You can order drinks off the same screen. Your drinks will be delivered by a robot. Yeah, a robot. A robot that plays music. Push your empty plates into the slot at the end of your table. The menu has a running plate counter so you can get a visual on your unabashed gluttony. I think you get a prize after a certain amount. At least, we did. Again, the novelty of this place is pretty cool. The food though, is just ok. It's mass produced sushi. But, not a bad place to grub in Little Tokyo. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Fun!! Great service!! Cruz was an awesome server!!! Highly recommend! Great for small groups.
google avatar

Becca D.

Yelp
This restaurant is such a fun experience. I love watching the different selections roll by and tasting a variety of different dishes, and then getting a little keychain after 15 plates! The quality isn't always the best but flavors are pretty good. Standouts for us were the American wagyu, the seared beef with scallion oil, the eel, and the crunchy rolls. I also love the little sesame balls. The snow crab was very fishy and the only dish I was really disappointed with. The servers were very friendly. by jointing the rewards, I got $5 off my next meal from just one meal which was pretty cool. Overall, I really enjoyed eating here and will definitely be back! :)

Alex X.

Yelp
I just had dinner at Little Tokyo and the quality of the food is amazing, it beats all of the other locations in Southern California. The decor and ambiance makes you feel like you're in Japan it is very clean. Eventhough there were only 3 servers on the floor the service was great, when it got busy the manager with the black hat came outside to help and he was so nice and helpful. I definetely recommend this Kura location!

Rovena B.

Yelp
Briana is the best server I have had! she is so attentive helped our group out with questions and kept our drinks refilled at all times!

Alex B.

Yelp
Atmosphere and food is as good as ever, but Briana really went above and beyond to ensure us and our out of town friend had everything we needed. She was super attentive, quick, and kind. Thanks Briana!

Diego G.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Great service, Briana was very attentive and helpful. Would recommend.

Lauryn A.

Yelp
I went for a late lunch today and loved the service from Drea! She was so nice and attentive and helped me have a great first experience at this restaurant.

Lanni W.

Yelp
The service from Briana is great. Ambiance is really cool. I like to see the options float around for you to choose. If you're craving for fun and sushi, this is the place.

Gloria M.

Yelp
The food here was amazing have to admit it was one of the best sushi places around!! The service was really good and Briana was very helpful.

Yelp
KURA REVOLVING SUSHI . . @kurasushi_usa in Little Tokyo in LA was busy on a Sunday night and the wait was around an hour. It was definitely with the wait because it was so fun and affordable. You can grab the sushi off the revolving belt or order off the ipad. The dishes come really quickly too. After 15 plates, a toy comes out of the gacha machine. Super fun experience with adorable and yummy sushi. I highly recommend!
