Kura Revolving Sushi Bar Review - Chamblee - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Doraville is definitely not Tokyo, but when you want to forget that for a while and eat some really good sushi at the same time, go to Kura for lunch or dinner. This Japanese spot is also a great option for when you don’t feel like speaking to another actual human being, since all of the ordering is done on a touchscreen at your table and your food is delivered to you via conveyor belt. And while those two details might make you think of eating at the airport, the large selection of nigiri, specialty rolls, and hand rolls are all really excellent. For those who don’t want sushi, Kura also serves ramen, udon, and tempura." - Sarah Bailey

I needed a quick bite and a sushi train seemed like a good option. Luckily there was a seat available at the counter and I was soon coercing out the options flowing by. There was a good range of the standard and creative sushi, sides, alternatives and sweets. The sushi were fresh with the high turnover of a full restaurant. Each seat or table gets its own tablet for ordering and plate counter/disposal. When a dish is ordered, it's either delivered via the serving belt above or the robot, so staff are only there to handle what isn't automated. I couldn't or didn't see what each plate costs...?🤷‍♀️ Conclusion: an efficient service model that reduces manual handling, good range of options.

Google
atmosphere. The experience overall was really enjoyable ,everything was fresh, tasty, and nicely presented. Just be aware: the portions are small, so you might not feel how much you’ve eaten until the plates pile up 😅 I ended up with 17 plates and a total bill of $74.44 ,, but honestly, I had a great time and left happy. Definitely worth trying if you're in the mood for sushi and a nice vibe!

Richard D.

Google
A unique experience in Little Tokyo. Conveyor belt sushi with secondary belts that can deliver things directly to your swat, as well as a robot that brings drinks to you. There's an ordering station at every seat, and a receptacle for plates you've finished. I was very happy with my experience here and will be back

Jose G.

Google
Loved this place. Classic revolving sushi bar that makes it easy to try all kinds of sushi and sides. Seating was simple, instructions were clear (great for first-timers), and pricing was transparent. The food was solid (not mind-blowing) but it hits the spot. The atmosphere is what really shines; it honestly feels like a quick trip to Japan. Can’t wait to come back for a late-night munch and let my hunger do the ordering

Rodrigo “.

Google
A solid sushi spot with a revolving service. Great quality fish and ingredients, an excellent lunch spot. I believe we hit 30 plates and it was well worth it. Ordering is easy and getting the sushi was fast. Just wait for the ones you want and get it or just directly order it. I’d definitely come back here again for my sushi fix.

Google
Honestly the good is good! Not great, like it's satisfying though, I think the whole appeal to the place is the restaurant itself. That being said if you're very hungry the price WILL add up, since it's 3$+ per plate There are options for those who don't eat fish/seafood as well so that is super nice! If you're looking for a fun experience I'd recommend! For casual dining not as much The staff is always amazing! They're always on top of everything, and trust me this location gets BUSY The interior itself is a little crowded feeling, but that makes sense! It is a revolving sushi bar!! Food is good, It's fun, I'd recommend for a fun night out with friends! Price can add up hella quick though!

Google
Mostly excellent, though the ordered sushi often resulted in better made sushi. Fun experience with robots serving water too!

Google
Food was really 👌🏻. The service was amazing! The atmosphere was great. The restaurant was super clean. Even the restrooms were clean. 10 out of 10. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
WE LOVE KURA REVOLVING SUSHI IN LITTLE TOKYO!! The atmosphere is so fun, the plate offerings are plentiful and delicious (don't miss out on the Garlic Skipjack Tuna - we got 2 plates because it was so good!), and the staff is very attentive and courteous! Special shoutout to Michelle & Erika, who both made sure we had a seamless experience while dining. Come check out Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, I'm sure you'll love it too!

Bianka P.

Yelp
Everything here is so fresh and delicious, I love coming here with my friend it's my favorite. Wait time for seating is always pretty fast too. Everyone here is so kind. Would recommend

Yelp
Good food with the family and Chelly was so helpful the whole time it was our first time and we will definitely be coming back
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Good food, great service. Ask for Chelly We tried every possible roll, none of them disappointed but none of them blew me away either. It fixed the sushi craving just fine. Fast, convenient, delicious. I will be back.

Yelp
Michelle is delightful. We come here for the sushi, but we are always recognized and greeted like old friends. She is very dear to us, and always efficient. I hope she stays here as long as we come. Thank you Michelle.

Yelp
What We Ordered: -Udon Beef Bowl $10.45 -3 @ $3.99 $11.97 We were exploring Little Tokyo when our little one got hungry, so we decided to grab a quick lunch at Kura. Thankfully, when our little one had a belly ache, they let us use the bathroom while we waited for our table. The wife and son weren't as hungry as expected, so we didn't order as much as usual. We did have a minor issue with the bill - one of my son's accidental orders hadn't been removed. Yocelin was very attentive and helpful in resolving it! It was another great experience at Kura, and we'll definitely be back soon!

Yelp
I loveeeeee kuras crispy rice, both salmon and crab. Wait times can be pretty long but they got an app that you can rsvp with. the location isn't the biggest, so definitely make a rsvp. This is a good spot for sushi if you're not too worried about the highest of high quality fish or want to enjoy a conveyor belt experience. It will do the job and plus, you get a prize after 15 plates! For two people , it came out rough about 65ish. It's nice cause you get to choose wait you want, without holding up any servers. Parking is a hassle, so be prepared to walk!

Yelp
Been to Kura Sushi many times and I'd have to give credit to their consistency. The conveyor belt is of course the main attraction & is very well maintained. Love the plate mini game which adds a bit of activity to the meal. Parking is plentiful around Little Tokyo, all paid structures/lots. Kura does plenty of collaborations which gives a lot of incentive to dine in. Currently they're doing a demon slayer collaboration and my partner and I got a demon slayer towel for our excursion, a nice bonus. A nice tech is the screen ordering, a really nice gimmick for when you want a specific dish instead of staring at the conveyor belt 24/7. The wait time isn't too bad on the screen ordering which is great. Space is pretty limited inside, each table can fit 4 people at max with moderate spacing and there's also counter seating for solo diners. The sushi is delicious and very well seasoned but not anything too special, still great quality but not super high quality fish, still love the flavor for most sushi especially the seared menu items. Service is great, staff is professional & friendly, and was pretty attentive for water refills every time I've been. The only downside to Kura Sushi is that even with a reservation, there's still a significant wait time after checking in. I've been plenty with a reservation all times and I had to wait for people who were in front of us without reservations, longest wait I've had was over 30 minutes which is not bad but I would imagine that with a reservation, there should be priority assigned.

Yelp
Second time having lunch at Kura and I love it! Everything is pretty much self serve and most plates are $3.99 each. Sushis, rolls and crispy rice were all delicious and fresh. You grab your own plates and can order more if needed. No real service but waitresses are available if needed. Drinks are brought by a little robot. Very casual place in the heart of little Tokyo.
google avatar

Yelp
We have a Kura in San Jose so this what I'm comparing it to. On a family vacation & my kids wanted sushi during this trip so we went with what we were familiar with. The location is sketchy, but parking was plenty as they verify parking pass. When we first came in, it was an awkward greet with the host in front. I noticed there wasn't a lot of sushi on the conveyor belt, & I had to order using the screen more than eating from what was already made. It started getting busy when we came in & things got chaotic in there. Overall, decent but not the best in my opinion.
google avatar

Megan D.

Yelp
Service was good. There wasn't much interaction as it is self serve, but water was constantly refilled and trash was often removed from table. The only downside is the wait. Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time to beat the crowd! You can also get your parking validated for the first hour here. Overall, the food is great! My personal favorites are the tune and blue fin toro. I'm sad knowing the blue fin tuna is only a limited supply. The crispy tuna rice is also a must have! You also get a cute keychain after eating 15 plates, such a cute little surprise!
google avatar

Sergey L.

Yelp
This is a super nice place if you want to try lots of different items in smaller portions quickly. A conveyer belt moves these small plates with a variety of foods on it quickly. Key is you don't need to wait for your order, unless you want to order something more unique. There are items in the menus you can order that are not on the conveyer belt. I'd come back again, for sure!
google avatar

Ricardo G.

Yelp
The service was nice and the building clean and neat, I enjoyed the revolving gimmick, but you can also order on a screen which was really nice. Spider Roll - 6/10 Nice and crunchy, though it easily fell apart when I tried to grab it. Spicy Salmon Roll - 8/10 Light and airy, not spicy at all. I liked how refreshing it was. The salmon was nicely prepared. Golden Crunchy Roll - 8/10 Came with four rolls, nice and crunchy. The flavor was nice and light, with a creamy consistency.

Yelp
I'll admit it, Kura Sushi isn't the best sushi out there, but I still love coming here. Conveyor belt sushi just hits home for me. The setup is fun, especially being able to grab plates as they pass by or order from the touchscreen and have it delivered straight to your seat. All the plates are the same price, which makes it easy for first-timers. I usually smash around 10 to 15 plates when I visit. If you hit 15, you get a little prize nothing major, maybe a keychain or a sticker, but it's a fun bonus. Some of my go-to items are the Hokkaido scallop, American wagyu (gunkan style), seared scallop with Japanese mayo, sea bream with yuzu pepper, and the yuzu jalapeño sweet shrimp. Also, the wasabi mix here is fire -- super potent and actually has a kick. Kura's definitely one of those spots I enjoy from time to time when I want a quick no frills , casual sushi fix.
google avatar

Janet S.

Yelp
This is such a fun little sushi restaurant that my kids really enjoy coming to. A robot serves your drinks and a conveyor belt delivers your food - so efficient! The conveyor belt loops around the restaurant with their most popular items, and you order (on a screen) the more special-order items. You just open the covered serving platter and grab! They have an area on your table where you can return your dirty dishes and you get points (and a prize) for doing it. So cute! Customer service is friendly and attentive. It's located inside Japanese village so parking is paid ($15) - one of the structures they validate for - the other one they don't. They validate for the closest one to the village. The food isn't that great but it's decent - especially for the price. My favorite were the crispy rice squares with crab meat on top. They have most of your typical sushi rolls.
google avatar

Yolanda S.

Yelp
Love this Little Tokyo spot for its convenient location, but be prepared for a long wait...up to an hour easily, especially during peak times. On the plus side, the food is always fresh and service is friendly and fast. To make the most of your time, put your name on the waitlist and explore the area while you wait. And just a heads up, when they call your number, there's another short wait lol, but it's a small price to pay for fresh revolving sushi in such a fun and cool neighborhood!
google avatar

Miriam P.

Yelp
Disgusting cheap sushi! Don't eat here, you will get diarrhea. All the sushi have been sitting on the plates for a long time. If you want a better quality try some other other sushi places in the area
google avatar

Jacky R.

Yelp
I would recommend coming here before 5pm because it's usually pretty crowded after that. The parking situation isn't the best so I would give some extra time to consider that but the staff is usually friendly and very helpful. The plates are always bomb and the service is pretty quick. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a chill sushi night
google avatar

Jeremy H.

Yelp
The best sushi in little Tokyo! They've got a demon slayer promo happening at the moment too. Salmon variants, eel, Tuna, all great options. And the servers are super friendly.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
I've wanted to check this place out for a while so tonight was a good excuse when my friends also wanted to go. This place is really cool, and I don't know if I've ever had faster service anywhere. The servers are great, but the magic of this place is the automated revolving dishes and a computer screen to place and instantly deliver your order on a belt at your table. The sushi was also really good! We tried so many different dishes and I enjoyed all of them. Obviously it's not the highest end sushi but for how quickly it comes out, it's really good and fresh. There's also a gamification of the meal, when you eat 15 plates (so easy to do with friends lol) there's a little vending machine that drops a prize. TLDR Overall a really good experience. Instant food on a cool belt. Not 10/10 sushi, but pretty dang good for a cheap price and cool experience. Def reccomemd

Yelp
Fun dining experience. Love the aburi seared items especially the seared eel with cream cheese as well as the seared salmon with miso and cream cheese. Short 20 min on Friday night around 6:30. They also validate parking partially.
google avatar

Cece D.

Yelp
It was soooo yummy! Chelly was very attentive and helped us get sorted and seated right away. I loved trying new dishes without having to spend so much. I got to try sea urchin for the first time here and the quality was really good! It's always fun to come here and try a shot at the prizes
google avatar

Yelp
I've eaten here 2 times now and have to say I love the experience of the revolving sushi bar. Ive tried quite a few revolving sushi bars, bullet train conveyor belt sushi bars and revolving Korean bbq bars. The food here is very affordable for the sushi quality they're giving you. Mind you this isn't 5 star Michelin level sushi, it's everyday handmade sushi ready to eat. Sushi - I've tried multiple items here and have a few favorite items. The umami oil seared beef nigiri, snow crab leg nigiri, American wagyu nigiri, shrimp nigiri; crunchy roll, rainbow roll and caterpillar roll are some of my favorites here. All $3.99 per small plate. The best part - if you finish 15 small plates you win a prize. So if you come with a friend and each eat 7-8 plates you'll win in no time. Conveyor Belt - You do not have to eat plates off the conveyor belt. You can order the same conveyor belt items on the iPad in front of you to arrive fresh on a conveyor belt right above it to your table or bar space. If you don't like sushi they have a few small plate and noodle options. They also have a few dessert options that rotate out throughout the year but vanilla ice cream seems to stay consistent. Plus you come here for the sushi not the dessert. For that you can go to cafe dulce, somisomi, yamazaki bakery and many other spots in the village plaza where the restaurant is located. Parking - find street parking if you can. Just circle the block the plaza is in a square. There is also a parking garage if you don't mind paying the fees that connects to the plaza.

Yelp
Hadn't been here since the pandemic when service was outside. Food was fresh and delicious! Ana and Sandra provided very attentive service during our time here!
google avatar

Kristinne B.

Yelp
We had an amazing time here. The food was served fresh and tasted great. I really liked the sushi we all had-especially the one with beef on it. Sesame seed balls were freshly made and super good. Staffs were friendly and accommodating. Bathroom was clean too. The place is kind of small, but everything else made up for it. I definitely recommend going here if you're in the area.

Yelp
I have been a faithful customer for Kura revolving sushi bar for past three years since my office was located in Little Tokyo area. It is such a good restaurant to dine in both by yourself or with groups of people (recommend to go with group of four for table). There is always a line for table seatings but bar seatings are usually always available on weekdays. I went here with my friend and sat at the bar seating on Friday night around 7:30 PM. I was not as hungry so I was able to eat portion I wanted and my friend also ate his portions, too. There are quite a lot of options of sushi (nigiri), appetizers, rolls, and noodles (soup). Super fun to fishing (?) out what you want on conveyer belt or if you want some fresh food, you can order via screen that is located at your seat. (Little toy train will deliver your food!) Their fish quality is pretty good. I really liked their salmon, yellow tail, and eel. Additionally their chicken karagge was superb lol. Noodles were alrigt. Parking is quite tricky. They only validate for one hour for the plaza's parking. If you order some noodles, appetizers, anything on the screen with extra charge, your bill will be around $30 - $50 per person since lots of extra items cost around $10 each.
google avatar

Alyne T.

Yelp
Always good bites made reservations ahead of time knowing how busy they get on weekdays and weekend for dinner. get seated they ask if we would like Wasabi or not. get it as we get seated. drinks on order thru kiosk. staff is constantly asking if we like refills, kindly refill for us. it's our go-to for date nightd at least once a month. thank you.
google avatar

Jet N.

Yelp
Sandra made our night! From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with genuine warmth and took care of us like old friends -- attentive without hovering, kind, funny, and clearly passionate about what she does. She gave amazing recommendations (every roll she suggested was spot-on), timed everything perfectly, and kept the vibe easy and relaxed even when the place got busy. You can tell she truly loves making people feel welcome, and it made all the difference -- the sushi was great, but Sandra's service was what made the experience unforgettable. We'll definitely be back, and we're asking for her again!
google avatar

Dee H.

Yelp
First and foremost, if you go during normal dinner hours on a weekend, expect a wait. We put our name down for four at 6:30 and we're seated at 8:30. When we left there was still a wait at 10:15 pm at night! Wild. Love the revolving sushi belt and you get a toy/prize for every 15 plates ordered (which is so easy btw). The sushi variety is amazing. Lots of rolls and pro tip is that you can make a special order for specific rolls on the kiosk above the table. That's how we got 4 eel hand rolls. Special orders were made lightning fast and came out smoking on the belt for our table! I'd love to give 3.5 stars to this Kura location. Prices have increased a lot. It used to be $2 per plate, now it's $4. Inflation!! The staff is hit or miss on the friendliness scale. It seemed like the place could be cleaned a little bit more. I also immediately (within 10 minutes) had to run to the bathroom after eating a roll with kewpie mayo. My partner also had a reaction later that evening. Maybe just our stomachs but maybe the kewpie mayo. Maybe it's Maybeline.

Yelp
I literally am NOT A FAN of Kura Revolving sushi locations.... HOWEVER, this one in Little Tokyo is the exception IMO. I was super satisfied with taste, and quality of rice which is the most important to me for simple sushi rolls. Other locations seem to fail but this one is GREAT! Try this one if you're new to the revolving style. I can't say much for the others such as the Diamond Jamboree location in Irvine... Yuck!
google avatar

Mikaela I.

Yelp
Been coming to this Kura location for many, many years. Even before they renovated and added the empty plates chutes at the table, when we used to have to count the stacked plates to figure out our bill. Over the years, this Kura is still always packed! Prepare to wait a long time to get seated. But you can also use their app to join the wait list early! Inside it's bustling with activity and can feel a little cramped. Food is comparable to other Kura's. Chefs are working hard in the kitchen to keep the conveyor belt full of fresh sushi dishes. Every time I come, the servers are so friendly, helpful, and quick. You can get your parking validated here too!
google avatar

Jiawen C.

Yelp
Had a great dinner! Price points are so hard to beat, and was so shocked at the great service. Bernardo I was amazingly attentive, continuously refilling our drinks and checking in on us. We'll be back soon!
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
What a cute place! This was my first time here and it was an experience. We did have a slight wait but Erika accommodated us beautifully. She made sure we got a table since it was my birthday. My friend and I got explained how everything worked. Erika was attentive and patient. If you're looking for a cool experience come here. There's an interesting dish with beef. The seared beef with yakiniku sauce was so good.
google avatar

Joshua S.

Yelp
The experience I had here was truly Amazing. I came here yesterday for a meeting and was blown away with how cool the restaurant was If was about a 25 minute wait but we'll worth it! You sit down and there is a revolving center of food that comes around you! You can pick out the food you like and grab it. There is also a screen above you where you can pick out the foot you want. For your drinks you order drinks from the screen and a little robot brings you your drinks Great service, great food, great ambiance! I will be back again

Yelp
With its location in Little Tokyo and with the tourists and weebs, this location definitely gets crowded. If you have, I feel, more than 2 people in your party or if you need a table, it's a wait that's around an hour plus if you're there on the weekend or near dinner. Me doing a solo trip? I got seated immediately at the bar. Service was attentive and were called over quite quickly with their tablet ordering system. My main issues with this location is that they don't allow patrons to just purchase the prizes from the touch screen like they do at the Irvine location. So you really have to eat 15 plates to get that prize. Also that the fish quality wasn't the freshest, at least the ones that I took from the conveyer belt. Their toro tuna had a fishy taste to it and was leaking pink liquid (this was the case when I ended up getting 2 separate plates at 2 separate occasions during my meal). Their rolls are passable, again just different variations of a California roll. The limited cheese tamago nigiri for the Pikmin collab wasn't soft or fluffy like other tamago I've had and was a solid huge brick of egg, so I guess quantity-wise you're choosing that over quality. Their seared nigiri and beef nigiri are good as per the other Kura locations and I really liked their limited matcha anmitsu ice cream. The taste of the matcha is quite strong and goes great with the sweetness of the ice cream. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here as there's other options in Little Tokyo, but it's alright.

Yelp
Decent sushi, not the best quality but for a decent price. Came more for the experience and it definitely is fun for kids to enjoy. You could easily spend a lot here because you have sushi just passing by and it looks good so you take it. My favorite was the unagi (eel) with cream cheese, the snow crab, and caterpillar roll. I love a good o cucumber roll. I would skip the ramen cause it tasted pretty bland. They have so much choices. It is so easy & fun to order whatever you want on the ipad menu. Service was superb. Very attentive and friendly staff. Michelle is the best! They validate for parking which is a plus so we could walk around the plaza. There is always a wait but you get a text notifications to your phone allowing you to walk the plaza to kill time.
google avatar

Megan H.

Yelp
This is my second time reviewing thins location because I enjoy coming here so often. I just found out the server's name; Maleny, and she always remembers me and incredibly kind. Maleny is such a personable person and a friendly face to see. The food as always is great and I feel like the quality of the sushi is a lot better than what you're paying for too. It's such a great deal for good quality cuts of fish.
google avatar

B F.

Yelp
The experience here is different, in a good way! Sushi conveyer belt was a must try. Don't go with the expectation of high quality sushi. The sushi is cheaply priced and the range of selection is limited but it allows for you to get food quickly and try new things. Your server is a robot for drinks but the people who ring you up are helpful. Clean bathrooms during my trip but only one stall.
google avatar

Maiko G.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat! Been going here regularly for like over a decade. It's a huge hit with our kids, they love all of the options and it's super fun watching the sushi go around and the chefs making everything in the back. Great sushi for a great price! The app is easy to use and you can get discounts on your meals. Michelle is the best server, she takes good care of us every time we come by!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Sushi with great and friendly staff! Park at, "Japanese Village Plaza Parking," if you plan to eat here for free parking for the 1st hour! Don't forget to validate lol

Yelp
On your first visit here, probably add a star just for the novelty. Sushi on a conveyor belt, special orders shot right to your seat, a beverage delivery robot, self serve touch screen menu as well. Consistently, this joint has a long wait. This recent time, we waited for about 1 hour and 40 mins. It only seemed like an hour and a half. You sit down, moving past your table is a conveyor belt with all sorts of sushi (they have name placards for ID). Just grab whatever plates you want. Or order off the touch screen menu and your selected plate will come shooting to your table. You can order drinks off the same screen. Your drinks will be delivered by a robot. Yeah, a robot. A robot that plays music. Push your empty plates into the slot at the end of your table. The menu has a running plate counter so you can get a visual on your unabashed gluttony. I think you get a prize after a certain amount. At least, we did. Again, the novelty of this place is pretty cool. The food though, is just ok. It's mass produced sushi. But, not a bad place to grub in Little Tokyo. Prices are reasonable.
google avatar

Rhiannon H.

Yelp
Each revolving sushi plate is $3.95, you eat 15 plates and get a prize (little toy) As far as the sushi goes... it was very mid. The spicy tuna tasted seriously wrong... something was off about it. I enjoyed the salmon nigiri the most, but overall I think the sushi wasn't good quality here. There wasn't a big variety either. I did like how the sushi plates were covered as they went along. Service was a bit slow & the bathrooms must be unlocked by an employee. Table was dirty upon arrival. Overall, I think this place is definitely a tourist trap.
google avatar

Karina M.

Yelp
The food is really yummy and the service is great. I like that the little robot brings out our water. I would come back again.

Yelp
Had an absolute blast with the latest One Piece collaboration that they are having this month. Lots of prizes and cool merch as well. Andrea, our server, was always attentive and very kind. Looking forward to my next visit.
