For a conveyor belt sushi spot, this place is not bad! Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is a chain that I've been to before, but this location in Tangram is the only one that (I believe) is in New York (there's a couple in Jersey!). Service here is a bit slow for rolls you order and drinks, but they're nice and will explain to you how the conveyor belt and ordering works. Practically all of their nigiri is $3.99, which not many places do (I mean, American wagyu and tamago for the same price??). But, they also have a couple other appetizers, noodle dishes, and handrolls. Their rice to fish ratio is not the best I've seen but their fish quality isn't bad. Overall, I think it's pretty worth it for the price and it's a great solo dining spot!

One of my friends recommended this place, so we decided to try it out on a Saturday evening. There was a waitlist with about a 30-minute wait. I’d recommend putting your name down and staying nearby—don’t wander off, or you might miss your table when they call your number. The food is great for the price you pay. If you tend to eat a lot like I do, you might end up spending more, but at around $3.75 per plate, it’s still a great deal. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

Ernesto from Ecuador is awesome! Great service led by him. Items are reasonably priced. Rice is yummy & chewy. Parking is downstairs and tangram parking. You can sit at the bar without a reservation. Best is eel. Sashimi is fresh too: 3 pieces per order. After you had 15 collected plates, you get a surprise box ball, which contains cute gifts. Least suggested tip starts from 10%. I guess it’s mainly self service. Gave 20% because of the great service. Download app for reward points. Unaware of any applicable discounts. 感覺非常新鮮!

I rarely leave negative reviews for restaurants — the last time I did was a long time ago. It was my boyfriend’s birthday, and we had dinner plans with friends at 8PM. Since we hadn’t eaten lunch that day, we were really hungry and decided to grab a quick bite beforehand. Around 6PM, we arrived at this restaurant. At the entrance, a bearded man told us that bar seating was available without a wait, but we’d have to wait for a regular table. My boyfriend said he preferred not to sit at the bar. The man said the wait would be around 15 minutes, but couldn’t guarantee it. We said okay, especially since we saw many empty tables inside. Twenty minutes later, we returned, but our table still wasn’t ready. The same bearded man was now very rude and told us not to wait at the entrance — that we would receive a text when it was ready. So we walked away again. Fifteen minutes later, we got a text and returned, but the same man said it was just a heads-up that our table would be ready soon, and told us to keep walking around but not go too far. At this point, I was already quite upset, but tried to let it go because my boyfriend still wanted to eat there. After another 15 minutes, we were finally seated — at the bar, and at the farthest end of it. We tried speaking to him, but he ignored us. Altogether, it was already 7:15PM. We didn’t want to argue anymore, just ate quickly and left. I understand that restaurants in Flushing can be busy and that waiting is normal. But it’s hard to understand why we had to wait so long when many tables were clearly empty, and on top of that, ended up being seated at the bar anyway. Other Kura locations in New Jersey are great — even in Japan, where they’re extremely busy, the staff at the front is always professional and polite. The brand is supposed to be about speed and automation. But the man at the front of this Flushing location — I’m not sure if he’s the manager or what — was such a terrible representative of the brand. He made the experience embarrassing and frustrating. I won’t be coming back again.

Kura is a popular sushi chain around Japan that my family and I have visited and enjoyed when we were vacationing there. We were excited to find one close to our neighborhood in Queens, NY and decided to visit. I booked a reservation via the Kura app and was seated promptly. I highly recommend to download the app to get access to discounts and promotions* After being seated, we were unsure how to proceed because our tablet displayed a "Wait for a staff". After waiting for a bit; I asked a young staff for help and he appeared to brush me off. Fine, we'll just ignore message and start ordering. The tablets to order on each table is mounted in an awkward and uncomfortable position. If you want to work out your shoulders, I suggest you task yourself of ordering the food. They had the option to order from your phone but bandwidth was incredibly slow. The food honestly was the best thing there, thank goodness. I thought it was fresh and worth trying their selection. They could have added more tuna selection but nevertheless, pretty solid. We tried most of the sushi and rolls but didn't go for the noodles or sides. Time for the bill, which was another waiting game for someone to come but ended getting up to hunt for them. Overall, food was enjoyable, atmosphere was nothing extraordinary, service and staff attentiveness could be improved by a lot.

This is my favorite location for revolving sushi. They welcome my daughter and I like family… Ambiance is always modern and feels like somewhere out of NY… Service from the staff and robots is always quick and friendly. My daughter loves the robots that bring drinks. Now the food I have to say is always fresh and appealing. I’ve tried some things once because it’s always struck my curiosity and then there’s my fan favorites that I can’t get enough of. The premium plates always offer up a great combination of different things. I love this place and recommend it always!

We love this Kura location and all the staff here! Since my son is the biggest fan of Kura (he even has two Kura shirts and draws Kura stuff at school), we come here weekly. Bella and Phoo always make us feel super welcomed and my son loves them. Food is good value as well, and staff is always attentive in coming to check in on us and clean up throughout our meal time.

I went to Kura Sushi on a Thursday around May 29 - 6:30 PM with one other person — just the two of us. There were plenty of empty tables, but we were told we needed a reservation. I gave them my phone number and was handed a waitlist ticket. The text to return didn’t come until 20 minutes later, and by then, we had already gone to eat somewhere else. I wouldn’t have minded waiting if the place was actually busy, but as you can see from the photo I took, there were clearly lots of open tables. The waitlist ticket they gave me is proof that I was asked to wait until they texted me, despite the restaurant being mostly empty. What really bothered me was the attitude from the staff — instead of being polite or helpful, they acted like I was a problem just for asking. It’s disappointing to be treated that way, especially when we were only two people and the restaurant wasn’t full. I won’t be coming back.
