KURIMU CAFE Lincoln Park

We were out and about just walking along and saw the collab this ice cream place was having with the Line Friends and had to check it out. So glad we stopped! I got the cherry and almond swirl in a cup with the messy boba topping. The flavors were perfect with the brown sugar boba topping. The merch they were selling and the decorations with Line Friends were extremely cute! Would definitely recommend the place, they had so many interesting scoopable ice cream and a list of soft serve as well.

Probably here and Jeni' ice cream is not only popular but they actually live up to their name. Always coming out with new flavor, taste is always good, fast service. Sure its kinda expensive? But its worth it. You can try multiple flavors, and do not sleep on soft cone, those are one of the best soft ice creams in the city. Well worth it. Got simple flavors so the color is simple, but they offer different cones too. Highly recommend!

While visiting town for a work event, I spent $40 on Ubers so that I could come and try the Miffy ice cream while the Miffy collaboration is still going on. I say worth it. The mango sticky rice ice cream I was recommended and got is some of the best I’ve had yet. It had what tasted like pieces of soft mango mochi in it, which gave it a nice chew. I was the only customer, which surprised me, because this place is so cute and even has WiFi, so it would be a great place to come study or hang with friends.

they do cute rotating collaborations that keep things fun and interesting! i went during the miffy collab, and they had specials for ice cream with miffy and boris ears that were so cute. i got the miffy with ube ice cream and it was delicious. i loved that it had the natural sweetness and flavors from ube, and that it wasn’t too sweet - most ice creams leave me feeling like i had too much sugar and can’t consume any other food for hours, and this wasn’t one of them. would love to come back during a different collab and try other flavors as well!

I’ve been to kurimu many times and I always get their soft serve or ice cream. Both of which are really good. It’s pretty expensive but if it’s ever once in a while, it’s reasonable. However, they change their flavors a lot and I noticed that they’ve been lacking actual flavors the people genuinely like. They had lychee, mango sticky rice, and others. I wish they would actually keep some of these flavors that get a lot of attention. However, I usually don’t make reviews but I had to when I experienced this. I was feeling something strawberry and I saw the strawberry float on the menu. I definitely got that because I expected it to be quality and pretty filling too. And to my surprise all it was some type of club soda, strawberry syrup, and a roll of vanilla ice cream - and you’re supposed to mix it yourself. It didn’t taste like a float at all. The worst part is that this was actually $10. If you ever go, please do not buy this and be careful of any of the drinks. It definitely doesn’t seem like their specialty. The service is awesome but the drinks are incredibly overpriced and so not worth it. I would definitely tip more for the service but I’m not a fan of businesses that charge a service fee without letting customers know before hand.

Maybe I went at a bad time (Saturday night), but I was actually pretty disappointed in this new location! The actual flavor of the drinks were delicious, BUT there was barely any boba in mine and it took legitimately at least 10 minutes to make our two drinks (with no one else there)… I think the person working was very new and didn’t have much knowledge/training yet. This slow service, combined with the sterile atmosphere and lack of decor, made it a pretty disappointing experience, especially compared to the other locations! The one on Taylor street is so much cuter, busier, more fun, better decorated, better drinks (with enough boba), and faster service. I’ll give this another try to see if I just got unlucky, but even the decor and atmosphere were lacking! Hope they put some effort into making this location more appealing like the others, and training the staff well.

The first time I went here with a friend she suggested I get the Messy Boba. You choose which soft serve flavor you want with it out of the two they rotate monthly. April is ube and pandan (light vanilla, coconut, and almond flavor) and I decided to swirl the two. On top of that, they put boba pearls, black sugar syrup, and a sweet plastic shovel to eat it with! I always trust the flavor swirl combination of the month and they always compliment each other. Service can take long when only one person is working, but they are perfecting a masterpiece before they hand it over to you to take a selfie with. For example, right now they have a Miffy collab, where they add a little face to the ice cream to make it look like that cute, little bunny Miffy! They also have hard ice cream in flavors such as purple yam, Thai iced tea, sweet corn, tiramisu, black sesame, and lychee pearl. The flavors and textures are my favorite and unique compared to competitors. I never really hang-out at this location as the seating area doesn't look comfy and typically take this ice cream on a stroll around the neighborhood. Amazing coffee addition to their ice cream store at the Lincoln park location. Tried the Thai iced tea foam…wow!!! Plenty of street parking space.
