"If your goal for the day is to see real giraffes and hippos roaming through the Florida countryside, you’ll want to head towards Kilimanjaro Safaris right when Animal Kingdom opens. On your way to the back of the park, stop by Kusafari for an enormous Mickey-shaped cinnamon roll larger than some of the babies being toted around. While it’s big enough to share, we've also just housed all of that flaky, gooey pastry ourselves. For a more savory option, the breakfast totchos are a great way to start your morning." - carina finn koeppicus, anne cruz

Google
We had the breakfast totchos which were amazing!! Really quick service too which was good for the parks. They’re essentially tater tots topped with cheese, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The portion size isn’t massive but it was enough for us to share as we weren’t massively hungry. I would recommend popping here - it’s in Africa in Animal Kingdom.

Google
We sought out this location for the speciality coffee, but it didn’t seem to be anything special. They don’t provide drink lids and there is minimal seating so it’s difficult to enjoy on the go. My boyfriend however enjoyed the breakfast tater tots

Google
We came for breakfast and got the pistachio croissant and the coffee. The totchos were a solid breakfast choice and the coffee was the star. The coconut stuff was great. The croissant was a bit bland but still good quality. I would come back here for the coffee. There is only about 5 tables there so be ready to sit on a curb.

Google
If you know what to expect, you'll have a good experience! Potato barrels, cheese, cheese curds, bacon, and egg for one option. There aren't a lot of breakfast options, so this is a nice, quick bite. Located right by the safari in Africa - the menu is posted in my photos! I held the cheese on mine and had a pretty decent breakfast option

Google
Food is very good, the guava and cheese danish is to die for, the breakfast sandwich is okay but the breakfast tots are super yummy too! Coffee is good. Downside is extremely limited space to try to eat.

This place has been one of our favorites for many years. Unfortunately, during COVID, like so many other places, it shut down. Lucky for us, it just reopened again. We made a special trip into the park just for one of these cinnamon rolls. I don't know why, but they seem better than your average cinnamon roll. They're flatter and wider and shaped like Mickey Mouse. Maybe that's why. It's that Disney magic. Add a cup of African coffee, wander across the avenue to the nook just to the right of the bathrooms and you have a nice, cool place to start your day with a tasty treat. This is a worthwhile piece of information on hot days as well. This little seating area is out of the way and tends to get less use than some of the others. Cool off, finish your treat and go find a line to stand in. Preferably Flights of Passage.

Went to this shop, while I was at Animal Kingdom, I got the marinated chicken flatbread. I was surprised as it was the best theme park food I have ever tried. The flavours were very good and everything tasted really fresh. I highly recommend this if you are in the mood for a donair/wrap style food.

Jonathan Kim

Google
They have a rotating menu but if you get a chance to get either the chicken or the pork flatbread, get it! Not sure if there were not many food stands around but people kept asking us where we got the food from. Definitely one of the best we had at the park. Had to put in a good word for this as it came with home made chips as well. Worth it if you get a chance to grab this.

Yelp
After arriving super early in Animal Kingdom to get on the popular Avatar rides, we were starving. We passed by this stand and was intrigued by their flatbreads, which really looked more like a pita wrap almost. It's a quick service spot where you order food to go. There isn't really any seating directly nearby but "across the street" there's an area that has several tables and seats to enjoy your food at, or to take a break. We got the marinated pork flatbread and spiked coffee. The pork flatbread was surprisingly good! I didn't expect it to be as flavorful as it was. There was a good amount of pork inside and the meat was tender too. There's a bit of salad greens, though not a lot, it was still refreshing. The sauce was also great. Just a great flatbread/wrap overall. It also came with a side of chips that was perfectly crispy and tasted homemade. As for the spiked coffee, you could barely taste the alcohol, which is pretty common amongst most of the mixed drinks at Disney. Get the flatbreads (there's chicken and pork), skip the other savory options! The pastries, on the other hand, looked delicious but we didn't get any.

Yelp
Located in Disney's Animal Kingdom, this tiny spot serves up some very good food. There is almost no seating, which is a little strange, although the "shop and bakery" is basically a window where you pick up your food. There is a little covered hut next to the "shop and bakery" which has a few seats. The Pistachio Honey Croissant is big, fresh, and fluffy but the real star of the show is the Breakfast Totchos. The Totchos are tater tots covered by scrambled eggs, cheese sauce, cheese curds, and bacon bits. It's absolutely delicious and would be the perfect drunken late night food. You probably won't be ordering this drunk and late at night but you should still get it. The iced coffee was outrageously sweet. Honestly, I could barely drink it but someone might like it. Get the Totchos and maybe the croissant.

Babette C.

Yelp
This is the worst place to eat on a rainy day. We were greeted by a cast member who seemed mad about being in the rain, which I understand, but come on, I'm in the rain too and I'm managing to smile at you when we greet each other. They have a hut like shelter where there are like three tables, which of course won't cover all the people buying their food. We grabbed a table in the back and used that table to cover our food from the rain. We were next to the condiment cart so we used that to hold our pistachio croissant so at least that wouldn't be wet. The bacon and egg sandwich with tomato relish was pretty good, even though it's more of an egg sandwich featuring a cameo from bacon with a small amount of tots. My sister couldn't finish the Overnight Oats because they were bleh. The croissant was disappointing because Disney consistently doesn't do cripsy, fresh croissants. This tasted like a day old, but whatever. Nothing could have saved this place from just getting one star.

Beth E.

Yelp
First time customer as I never even noticed his place before. I stopped for lunch on a Wednesday morning and there were only a few people in front of me. There are only a few tables to stand around and eat, so you may have to find a seat elsewhere. The menu is limited with 4 choices. I settled on the chicken wrap which came with chips. The wrap was well filled and tasted fine. The chips seemed to be dusted with curry, which seems odd, but was good.

Meghan L.

Yelp
We stopped here after the safari ride for a quick little bite. The food was delicious and we didn't feel like we were eating something unhealthy. The cast members were helpful and cheerful. Of course the entire building and decor were true to the African theme and Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Joanne L.

Yelp
The pork flatbread was yummy and the guava cheese Danish was enjoyed by my oldest boy. The coconut coffee was very refreshing. The cast members at the window and pay area were both very nice. The harissa aioli that came with the pork flatbread was definitely a highly of this trip.

Sarah H.

Yelp
The best coffee in Animal Kingdom!!!!!! Here's the deal, while everyone else is stampeding Avatar: Flight of Passage, head straight to Africa, grab a coconut iced coffee, some breakfast totchos, and a Mickey cinnamon roll, and start your day with a Kilimanjaro Safari! We were so excited to see that ALL of the animals were out and about bright and early in the morning, and we were able to knock out most of the park before heading to Pandora to spend the afternoon. Plus, if you're there around winter-time when the sun sets earlier, you'll get to see Pandora all lit up at night, which is truly magical. Thank me for this 10/10 Animal Kingdom park strategy later.

Aubrie H.

Yelp
This is a quick service window at Disney's Animal Kingdom located close to the Safari. To drink qe ordered a coffee which we thought was better than the in room Joffrey's coffee and a Joffreys cold brew with coconut cream which was a little sweet. We also tried a cream cheese and pumpkin Muffin and a pistachio honey Croissant, the flavors in both were a little light. Overall a nice place to grab breakfast while in the park.

Cesca T.

Yelp
This little, out-of-the-way bakery window is a hidden gem. The service was fast and friendly, the ambience very transportive, but I was so pleasantly surprised by the honey pistachio croissant, that I devoured the whole thing before my husband had a chance to get a bite. Now, you could probably do something similar with a store-bought croissant; brush a little honey and ground pistachios on top, pop it in the oven for a few minutes, and get the final product, but when you just want a little sweet carbohydrate kick for breakfast before a long day of walking around the parks, this is perfect. And there is plenty of shady seating right to the side of the bakery.

Yelp
I visited this spot in Animal Kingdom for lunch and it was pretty good. Service was fast and the line wasn't long. You order with a cast member and then you would wait at the pick-up window for your food. I ordered the Marinated Pork Flatbread Sandwich and their chicken wrap. Both orders come with a side of chips that were crispy and salty. The pork flatbread sandwich was delicious. There was a good amount of flavorful pork and the flatbread was fluffy and fresh. Unfortunately the chicken wrap was a miss for me. It wasn't anything special and there wasn't enough flavor in the chicken. My friend and I shared an iced coffee that had a cream liqueur in it. It was too sweet for my liking and did not taste too much of the alcohol. They had their pastries on display but I didn't get to try; they looked pretty good though. Not much space to sit but there is a common area not too far away.

Dana S.

Yelp
Came for breakfast and had a Honey Pistachio Croissant, a plain croissant with a honey glaze and crushed pistachio topping. The croissant was a little on the dry side but not bad, and the honey was a nice, light touch of sweetness. There was a good dusting of pistachios and they actually stayed stuck to the croissant instead of flying off when I bit into it like I was expecting. My parents ordered the Colossal Cinnamon Roll and I had a small piece of it but wasn't crazy about it. Like the croissant, I thought it was a little dry and the crispy/flaky texture isn't my preference for cinnamon rolls. I think they liked it, though, so it might be good for some people. The prices are a little high for the average quality, but I'd still consider the croissant a good choice for an easy breakfast or snack in the park. There's no seating at the shop, but in the morning before the Harambe Market is open, you can take your food over to their seating area.

Charlee W.

Yelp
Great service!! workers were so kind and it was very helpful when they shared their opinion! highly recommend!

Yelp
This is the best lunch my husband and I had during six days at Disney World. My husband and I purchased an excellent flatbread sandwich from this shop. I can't recall whether we had the pork or chicken flatbread. The flatbread was fresh. The sandwich came with some thick chips. Kusafiri is a walk-up business with no indoor seating. The shop probably did not have its own designated outdoor seating area. We found a table and chairs nearby, perhaps belonging to a different cafe. During lunch we enjoyed listening to and watching some nearby musicians.

Timmy S.

Yelp
Located in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom, this place is more or less just an ordering window with a simple menu of several bakery items and coffee choices. I was wanting a quick afternoon snack. The Mickey cinnamon roll looked impressive but was larger than what I thought I could eat so I just ordered a regular croissant and an iced vanilla coffee. Finding a nearby table, I sat and ate the croissant which was fine but no different than one you'd buy at the bakery section of your local grocery store (except this one was much more expensive). The iced vanilla coffee was sweet and a perfect beverage to cool down a bit while getting a little caffeine boost in the late afternoon to finish off my theme park adventures. Satisfying but just A-OK.

Tim S.

Yelp
I stopped by this spot today. I realized it had only a few reviews so I thought why not throw some positivity on a decent spot. We were about to cue up for the safari ride when we decided to grab a cup-a-Joe for the wait in line. Well one of us held a spot in line that split up to get the caffeine order. The line was very quick. We got an order in and the coffee in hand in no time. It was piping hot. That was bonus as it was a chilly morning. We split a breakfast sandwich too. It did the job. Biscuit was ok, bacon good, the cheese was sorta gritty(like a fake cheese), but it was warm and went down ok. Within the context of a spot in a Disney park I was appreciative. It was very fast, located next to a line, and wasn't terribly expensive. And it's the only real option right before you get on the Safari ride.

Aly W.

Yelp
The colossal Mickey cinnamon roll is probably one of the best values in all of Disney World. It fed myself and my two sons for all of $6 or $7. And it tastes so good. The caramel sauce was a pleasant surprise, and there's just enough frosting to tickle your taste buds without being obnoxious. Just a word of caution: avoid soda here unless you're eating after the Festival of the Lion King. It's not in an enclosed container so you won't be able to take it into the show.

Kim C.

Yelp
It's all about that colossal Mickey Shaped Cinnamon Roll. Anything tastes better when it's shaped like Mickey. Those stars are primarily for that. The cinnamon roll is served warm, it' soft, buttery, flaky, and the icing is a buttercream frosting. The menu said it serves 2 but I have a sweet tooth that enjoys cinnamon so it was so hard to share. Kusafiri Coffee Shop could easily be missed. It's a quick service option. You order your item at the register and head to the window to pick it up. The Kusafiri Coffee Shop is in Harambe Village, the Africa section of the park. There are not many seating options available near the area. Besides the cinnamon roll, they offer coffee, different pastries, wraps, and a variety of drinks. If you enjoy anything Mickey shaped and like cinnamon roll defintely get this if your in Animal Kingdom.

Jacqueline M.

Yelp
I get the lack of stars on the other reviews had valid concerns but I stopped here for just a little pick me up...and the iced coffee with amarula cream liqueur did just that! Its quite simple, you order at the register and then make your way to the window for pick-up. I had a choice of vanilla or mocha both of which are great. If it sits a little before drinking the excessive ice can water it down, but mine was perfect- tasted like a spiked milkshake and hit the spot! It wasn't watered down and packed a nice little flavor to keep me going for another few hours.

Ray B.

Yelp
I heard about this place and couldn't miss trying the Colossal Cinnamon Roll. It's literally the size of a dinner plate. It was warm, flaky, and covered with frosting. The frosting was good, not too sweet and there was a Carmel drizzle. It was enough to feed four. If you're looking for a great snack at an even better price. Then this is the place to go. It's a great bargain at $7.49. The menu is limited to a few items but if your coming here, the cinnamon roll is the thing to order. Enjoy !!!

Pablo M.

Yelp
We wanted a snack and got the pistachio croissants. These guys were soft as a pillow and slightly honey sweet. They were delicious! I'd highly recommend giving this walkup window a shot if you're in Animal Kingdom.

Henry K.

Yelp
A hidden gem for lunch in Animal Kingdom. Located in the Harambe village area, it is a very simple stand near the entrance to the Kilimanjaro Safari ride. Very limited selection of just four sandwiches at lunch (have not tried the pastries or coffee for breakfast), but they are a nice size, reasonably priced (remember this IS Walt Disney World!) and I thought, pretty tasty. It's our go-to lunch place at Animal Kingdom. We pick up a soft drink at Tamu-Tamu, or an adult beverage at the Dawa Bar, which also has tables and chairs in a shaded area; a perfect mid-day break!

Meg C.

Yelp
My mission on our trip to Disney World was to find the most delicious treats for the best bang for my buck! The Colossal Cinnamon Roll was are pick at this quick service location. Though warm and tasty, I felt is was a bit on the overcooked/stale side - more crunchy that flakey. Not sure if this is the standard so it might be worth giving them a try.

John O.

Yelp
Setup is very basic, order your food at a podium, get directed to the counter to pick up your food, and there are several tables to stand at off to the side. The area is designed like a Moroccan or other East-African market so it's picturesque. Staff were pleasant and service was quite expeditious. So coffee was okay here, better than at the resort. Then again, we got flavored ice coffee. I got iced mocha, it was actually fairly good. My wife got a flavored one as well, but I'm not sure what she got. After seeing previous complaint about coffee, I'm assuming hot from previous review. I recommend getting iced. For food, they have simple pastries, and quite a variety. My wife got the cheese Danish, and she said it was quite good. I got a breakfast burrito. For the price it was hilarious small. But it had a mildly sweet/sour cheese that was moist and soft, either feta or ricotta (I'm not sure). The scrambled eggs were fluffy, and had spinach and tomato. It was actually pretty good, and was filling enough to have a quick bite and be on your way to travel the park. I have the meal plan so price wasn't an issue for me, but for people paying for each meal it is a factor. This is a chronic gripe I voice, whomever reads my reviews, of the cost of food and drink in parks. It is par for course, doesn't mean I have to like it.

Carrie X.

Yelp
tldr: Go elsewhere for coffee! It is a sugary water syrup. Otherwise if you're just making a quick stop for pastries then this place is passable. OKAY: Elephant ear pasty (aka palmier): This is similar to a cookie like croissant. It is very flaky and the tips are covered in dark chocolate. It is the size of two of your palms so quite sufficient to stave off morning hunger. Chocolate twist / croissant: A long twist pastry covered in dark and white chocolate drizzle with dark chocolate filling. It's not as flaky as a croissant should be and a bit too bread like. THE WORST: Iced French Vanilla: The worst ice coffee I have ever had. There was no coffee taste as it was a stranger combination of ice water, a lot of sugar and vanilla flavoring.

Laura S.

Yelp
You're in Animal Kingdom, you're hungry, and you're looking for something easy, relatively inexpensive - and above all - that you won't have to stand in yet another line for! The friends I was visiting with opted for food from the Harambe Market, but I had my heart set on a sandwich. As a vegetarian, I'm always thrilled when there's a few menu options and I don't have to settle for the "afterthought" veg-friendly item. The caprese sandwich was delicious, the curry chips that came with it were perfect (I was expecting something spicy, but was pleasantly surprised), and the food took about 3 minutes for me to order, wait, and grab it. It would have been easy to eat while running to my next fastpass, but I opted to take a few moments to relax in the Harambe seating area and enjoy it.

Jeff S.

Yelp
I don't know what to say except that the coffee is putrid. No fresh milk either, just coffee mate. At 3 bucks a cup I feel violated. Blah.

Joseph C.

Yelp
Try the Beef and Cheddar Panini!! This place was unexpectedly great for lunch! The wife and I went to Africa in hopes of getting a quick bite before hopping in line for the Safari ride. We couldn't seem to find any quick service food (Tusker was the most obvious choice for food but was table service) and I just happened to notice the sign for paninis at Kusafiri. I recommend the beef and cheddar sandwich, pretty tasty with the horseradish sherry vinaigrette. Pretty creative for what I've seen for Disney World quick service so far, and by far the best tasting. Sorry forgot to take pictures, but they looked like standard paninis, tasted great though. Forgot to mention that the house made chips are quite good too, and a nice touch.

Alex W.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick, relatively healthy lunch spot in Anima Kingdom, this is your place! This bakery is a pretty nondescript window hidden off to the left as you approach the safari ride. All day they offer baked goods and coffee but they also offer really delicious lunch items starting at 11 am. The thing is, I think most people figure this only has baked goods so when lunch time rolls around they don't consider stopping here. Every time I go to the parks, there is little to no line here and you're served right away. I absolutely love the smoked turkey sandwich. A very basic sandwich with an ample amount of turkey, cranberry mayo, and arugula, but it gets the job done if you're hungry and looking for a non-greasy option. It's served with curry potato chips that are pretty good as well. For roughly $11, this is a pretty good value for Disney Parks, and the fact that you barely have to wait is an even better perk!

Courtney K.

Yelp
I love their breakfast pastries... Mickey shaped cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffin, and they usually have something seasonal. They are huge and full of sugar. Their cinnamon rolls are covered in caramel sauce as well as the typical powdered sugar and milk situation you normally see. Ps... these are now served at the Starbucks a bit earlier on the path where you can walk in to Pandora (ish).

Veronica P.

Yelp
We stopped here to get a snack in the morning as one of the places that is included in the Disney dining package. They have multiple small bites that you can choose from like breakfast sandwiches or muffins or pastries. We went with the breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. It is your standard breakfast sandwich with eggs sausage and a biscuit. It was good and filling although it taste very similar to what you can get at a fast food joint.

Sasha A.

Yelp
I used to visit Orlando several times a year... Animal Kingdom was always my favorite places to visit... The quick lunch spot, in Africa was always my favorite, because they had jambalaya. I hadn't visited Disney World in 10 or 11 years. For my wife's 40th Birthday, I went back. We were there from January 12-18, 2015. I was upset that they had changed my quick lunch spot, into a restaurant... For breakfast, this place was the only place in the park open. They had a breakfast wrap, which was the only non pastry thing on the menu. When I ordered one without cheese, I was rudely told, they are pre-made... So I had to go hungry for a few more hours... They could pre-make some, without cheese. Next time I'm in Orlando, I'll eat before going to the park.

Michael P.

Yelp
Great hidden gem for quick lunch. We got the turkey and the roast beef sandwiches. Both were well prepared and delicious. Chips were fresh and good too. Good lunch at Disney for 2 for $25 is not always easy to find.

Stan D.

Yelp
If you go early to the Animal Kingdom and you missed breakfast, there are not a lot places open until 11am, but this place will be open and have a variety of breakfast sandwiches and offerings that can hold you over until the other places open for lunch. I had the Sausage, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Biscuit Sandwich, which was very good. If there is a line, do not worry, it will move fast. So if you are hungry in the morning and are or near Africa at the Animal Kingdom, this is the place to go and get something quick that tastes good.

Rhea P.

Yelp
I ordered coffee and then read the reviews. Do not make this mistake. Ordering must be done at the counter before you pick up the order at the window.I did not order any food, so the only thing I wanted was caffeine via coffee. Off to the side, there is a little table where sugar, half-and-half creamers, napkins and such can be found. I was satisfied in that the coffee was hot, but I do feel I could have gotten a better cup of coffee elsewhere.

Scott O.

Yelp
A decent place to pick up a quick breakfast in Animal Kingdom, but don't be fooled. The cinnamon rolls here are not the same ones served in the Magic Kingdom. The whole time I ate the cinnamon roll (I hadn't been to the Main Street Bakery yet on this trip) I stared at it funny because it didn't look quite right. Later on, when I finally made it to Main Street Bakery I realized why. The Kusafiri cinnamon roll is still good but nothing like the ones at Main Street Bakery. Service here is pretty quick and just about everything on the menu is one snack credit, including milk and other breakfast beverages. Kusafiri is located next to Tusker House in Africa.

Suika I.

Yelp
Cinnamon roll was greasy, flavorless, disgusting, and almost tasted like they were using rotten, sour dough - I couldn't finish it. Family member's quiche was good, however, when I returned to get one myself to make up for the nasty cinnamon roll, the man working the kitchen cut off the line for breakfast, even though the person before me had JUST ordered breakfast food and I had been waiting behind them BEFORE he walked up. What a hungry start to my day at Animal Kingdom. The only positive was that the service was fast and that the girl that took our order was friendly and helpful. Otherwise, I will not be returning.

Edward I.

Yelp
Sorry, but not only did this place stink, the food wasn't great. Coffee was too watered down and it's not as organized, people would go straight to the window and get yelled at by the lady there to go to the person who was at the podium 10 or 15 feet away where they take the order. It's not noticeable so they've got to do some more organization, unless of course that's what they want.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
The only reason I gave this place two stars instead of one is because it's better than nothing. It kept me from starving to death. Next time, I'll get a banana at the Harambe Fruit Market and wait until something else opens. I got the breakfast wrap with egg, sausage, spinach and cheese and a $4+ bottle of water. The wrap sounds a lot better than it was. it was flavorless and I was hugely disappointed that they offer NO condiments. A salsa packet may have been able to salvage the meal or at least disguise exactly how flavorless it was. My friend got a croissant and a cup of coffee. She was also upset at the lack of condiments because they didn't offer any butter, much less jam or marmalade. She said the coffee was watered down and awful. Regardless, she barely drank any of it and threw it in the garbage. Eat breakfast before you get to the park so that you can hold out until the other restaurants open at 11:00.
