Loved this place! Food was excellent, full of flavor. The portion was large and very reasonably priced. Great service, very polite and friendly. There is not much place to sit in there- 3 small stools in a cramped place, so it’s more of a take out place. Overall, 5 full stars and I will definitely return.

Kusharista serves delicious Egyptian comfort/street food at Macdougal St. in Greenwich village. The bowls, called "Koshary" are warming and delicious. They are tossed together right in front of you with a delectable medley of quinoa, chickpeas, white and brown rice, soba noodles, a choice of traditional or fusion sauces, a variety of greens and a fabulously crunchy and spiced sprinkle of fried onions. We tasted the traditional Egyptian version and ordered the Asian-fusion bowl with a creamy coconut curry sauce. We also had the warm lentil soup. We felt so energized after our meal. Kusharista blends taste and health perfectly. Prices were extremely reasonable and the packaging eco-friendly. The store owners are kind and generous. There is not much space in the restaurant for seating so plan for a takeout. The restaurant can seat 4 in their window counter and a party of 4 up front. Would definitely visit again to try all of their other combinations and the desserts. Highly recommend for a filling and delicious lunch or dinner.

This tiny family run business is a true gem. It has been on my radar for a while, and my wife and I were finally able to stop by. We ordered the original koshari, which was big enough for the two of us to share. The combination of ingredients—from crispy onions, savory tomato sauce, and rice and noodles—was a true delight. I look forward to visiting again.

I tried NY Koshary and it was by far my best Koshary experience ever. The original recipe was delicious and I tried the rest of the flavors as well, loved the Mediterranean and my favorite is the Asian Fusion! Never thought Koshary can be as delicious in different themes yet healthy and light. I wish there was a closer NYK to where I work in Mid-town Manhattan and Jersey City. If you're close to Brooklyn don't miss it!

New York Koshary is a new concept to be introduced to the city since poke. Koshary is an adaptation many know from various cultures through India, parts of Eastern Europe, and Africa. A mix of pastas, rice, beans, greens, it need not necessarily be vegan/vegetarian. Meatballs and chicken can be added to provide the adequate protein to make this appetizing. The restaurant is a huge space with which to do expansion, it is meant to appeal to many, across various cuisines including the health-conscious. Service is can be expected of fast-casual as you build your own bowl.

Simple menu and great customer service. Kushary is great and healthy esp. if you don’t add macaroni to it

Delicious and high fiber/protein food..! Just that the quantity is too much for lunch, wish they had a medium box.
