Delicious and reasonably priced! The sushi rolls, the seaweed salad, the green tea ice cream! Mmmmm! And we didn't get sick from the sushi so that is a huge plus! Haha! The one thing I was sad about was the tiny serving of the delicious green tea ice cream for the price. Should have been larger for that price. Other than that I definitely recommend this place! (-: the sushi chefs there did an amazing job! 5 stars well deserved Kyoto!

Spectacularly fresh fish in the sushi. The cuts in the sashimi (and on top of sushi rolls) are noticeably thicker than any other sushi restaurant I've been to. I would feel confident in recommending this sushi to anyone. Service was kind of poor, but I think I overheard two of the employees talking about people not showing up to work, so it may have been an aberrance.

My go-to sushi spot in Uptown. The rolls, while slightly bigger than I'd prefer, are consistently good, although the poke salad is probably the best thing on the menu. If you sit at the sushi bar, you get a free bowl of miso soup.

Decent sushi, but honestly--the menus were so filthy and stained--like they went through the flood , that I didn't want to touch them. The place has peeling paint, dirty chair rails, depressing dark red walls, ugly plastic chinese print dishes--it is such a horrific atmosphere. There are some great, clean, fresh-looking sushi places in town, and ultimately, it's more than just the food when you eat sushi. I hope someone there reads these things and brings that place in to the 21st century....

Went there for dinner last night 2/17/2016 and after waiting 40-50 minutes for our food(place wasn't busy) the beef teriyaki my girlfriend ordered that was cooked "medium" came out grey and SUPER WELL DONE. When questioned, the waitress's informed us it would be 20-30 minutes longer as they had to defrost the meat to correct the order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YOU'RE ON MAGAZINE STREET SERVING $20 Beef teriyaki and the meat is frozen? that is ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL. We were excited to try this place as we literally live around the corner, but sorry to say, we will never be back as this is completely unacceptable in my book as we are used to eating at establishments with fresh food that charge $60-100 a meal for 2 people. Even after having the bill completely waived(which I DID NOT request as I believe in paying for my food) I would never return.

Delicious local sushi restaurant. Gets crowded at peak times but usually has good turnover. Eat at the bar if you want faster service. Highly recommended the Poky salad.

I've always found Kyoto to have high-quality sushi/high quality fish (among the highest quality , if not the highest quality fish in the New Orleans/Metairie area). I've been coming here for over eight years and enjoy it very much.

I like their sushi, and their poke salad is delicious, but it seems like they are NEVER open. The last four times I have tried to go eat there, they have been closed. Definitely not a place you can go to just pop in. I recommend calling ahead to see if they're open before heading down there.
