Kyuramen - Review - Arcadia - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Kyuramen is a ramen chain with tons of locations across Asian and in the U.S., but Arcadia is their first destination in California. The menu covers the essentials with tonkotsu, miso and curry ramens, along with other dishes like omurice, kamameshi, and rice burgers. The restaurant also looks extra cozy, with booths that kind of resemble cubbyholes. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

Slurp Ramen Inside Kyuramen’s Honeycomb-Shaped Booths in Arcadia | Eater LA

"Opened February 7, this first California location from one of America’s largest ramen chains—already with outlets in New York, the Midwest, Texas, and even the deep South like Mississippi and Alabama—takes over a sizable Arcadia strip-mall slot and serves a signature yin-and-yang ramen with tonkotsu and miso broths, omurice, and yakitori skewers. Founded in New York City in 2014 by Gary Lin, the brand “specializes in Kyushu-style shio broth, Tokyo-style shoyu broth, and Hokkaido-style miso,” and Lin hoped to become the "Starbucks of ramen in the U.S.," which, given its more than 40 locations across the country, seems to be well on its way. Visually, the most unique aspect of the interior is a staggered honeycomb table arrangement where diners get tucked into hexagonal alcoves—the cozy (and Instagram-ready) feeling is pretty unparalleled, though don’t be surprised if onlookers take photos of the honeycomb section while you eat. The rest of the space has counter seating, scattered tables, and even private dining areas with curtains, and a large wishing tree already contains hundreds of notes and drawings scribbled onto small wooden placards for additional visual interest; the company introduced its new honeycomb booth design a few years ago in a huge Chicago restaurant. The menu covers much of the Japanese canon (except sushi), offering katsuoboshi ramen (shaved bonito flakes), miso ramen, tonkotsu shoyu (rich pork broth), curry ramen, kimchi ramen, chicken ramen, vegetable miso ramen, and even tonkatsu (fried pork cutlet) ramen. The honeycomb appetizer is described as "a fun shareable starter with seasoned edamame, tamago egg, unagi, seaweed salad, lobster and chashu ball, and shrimp tempura." Other starters include steamed pork buns, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and yakitori skewers. The viral Kichi Kichi omurice popularized in Kyoto is served here, "sliced tableside by servers for maximum shareability," and desserts include matcha tiramisu, mango mille crepe cake, and Japanese cherry blossom jelly. Guests enter through Tbaar, the brand’s boba and milk tea shop, whose drinks can also be ordered at the ramen counter—an intentional one-two punch aimed at the predominantly Asian American community around Arcadia and the greater San Gabriel Valley." - Matthew Kang

Google
This place got the vibe! The food isn’t the best but not bad either. If you want a great ramen (as the name of the place suggested)? it’s not the place. BUT their omu rice, takoyaki, and the rice burger ARE pretty delicious. AND its a heck of a place to hang out with friends or your date on the weekend. In short, everything but the ramen is YUMMMY!

Google
nice interior with a variety of unique seating. the ramen was solid, nothing outstanding and nothing to complain about. i enjoyed the spicy tonkatsu. omurice was also good, though the glaze sauce was a bit sweet for our taste. yakitori was decent. overall yes i would recommend for just a good meal :)

Stumbled into kyuramen on a drizzly evening and it was the perfect cure. The place has a simple, clean, and warm vibe that just makes you relax instantly. We ordered the two flavor into one Ramen, and the omelet rice, the broth was rich, milky, and deeply flavorful without being overly salty. The noodles had a great springy texture, and the chashu was so tender it practically melted. Service was quick and friendly. The thai milk tea hit the spot, and the whole meal felt like a warm hug. It's not the fanciest spot, but it's a solid, dependable choice for a satisfying and comforting bowl. Great value for the quality. We left happy and full, definitely our new go-to for ramen cravings in the area!

Google
The atmosphere is really cool and the quality of the food matches! We got the app sampler, I got the katsuobushi pork ramen and my boyfriend got the shoyu beef ramen. We both loved ours and tried each other's broth - suuuper good. My only complaint was the service was really good at the start, but after we got our food it went downhill from there. No refills, nobody checking in on us long after we finished our food. We wanted to order both desserts, but decided not to because we waited so long for anyone to come by our table. It was a little confusing if we had a specific server or just any server that happened to walk by. Regardless of the service, we understood that it's right after the holidays and it was a pretty packed house. We'll still go again because the food and vibes are worth it and give the staff another chance.

Google
This place was absolutely amazing! I normally don't review a place until I've been to it at least three times, but this is my second time and I just had to review it. The first time we came we ordered ramen and it exceeded our expectations and we also got the yakitori platter which was great because you get to try a little bit of everything. The broth on the ramen was super tasty. And we also got a tea which was really good. The Negima yakitori was my favorite! The decor of the place is super nice too and the music playing is really good. It's also very clean and you can tell a lot by how clean a restroom is. The second time we tried the tonkatsu omurice and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely amazing! The curry sauce that goes on top is 🤌 definitely a shareable size and you can get some yakitori on the side. For dessert, we had the cherry blossom jelly and it is one of the most unique things I've ever tried. It is a very refreshing dessert. The staff was also really nice and super helpful both times that we came. Asking if we had any questions on the menu and also just trying to make our experience the first time a really good one. This place is definitely 5/5. Highly recommend.

Google
Upon walking in you get transported to a whole different place like in a fairytale. From the unique seating options to the decor, it invites you in. The servers were great! Was greeted immediately and sat quickly. Chris was great! Always attentive and gave great recommendations. They have a bell to ring the server but that wasn't needed since he would always check on us. 10/10. Definitely recommend the combo meal. It's a great deal! You get a tonkatsu ramen, bao bun, Thai iced tea, and dessert. Everything was so delicious, I couldn't stop smiling. Omurice katsu demiglazed 10/10 - the sauce was amazing, eggs were super fluffy, as if biting into a cloud. Tonkotsu ramen - upgraded to black. Great amount of garlic taste, if you are garlic lovers, definitely recommend getting the black. Perfect amount of noodles, Al dente also. (Also they have a slurp and win so if you finish the entire bowl and soup at the bottom you could win one of multiple prizes). Matcha dessert- if you're a matcha lover, this is a great dessert. Plenty of matcha flavor, not too sweet. Thai tea was good, didn't get to try the bao bun yet (saving that for lunch tomorrow). Definitely will be coming back!

Google
A bit disappointed at the flavor of the food Ordered the yin yang ramen Ramen soup flavor was overly salty portion is a bit small for the price Omurice was cold with lukewarm warm egg and Demi glaze sauce. The temperature of the omurice really make the dish disappointing. Pork chop was tough and not very crispy Overall atmosphere and decor is extremely nice however the food did not live up to its expectations

Google
Kyuramen in Arcadia has a beautiful Japanese-style décor with a very nice ambiance. The servers are friendly and professional, which made the dining experience pleasant. The ramen presentation was great, but the noodles were extremely thin. For the price point of about $18 per bowl, I think they could improve the quality by offering thicker, heartier noodles. I ordered the curry ramen, and unfortunately, it was overly salty and hard to finish. One thing I really liked was their unique promotion: after finishing your bowl, you check the bottom for a red stamp. If you find one, you win a coupon for a free ramen on your next visit. There’s also a raffle for a free dessert—we actually won both! It was a fun and unique touch to the dining experience. Overall, Kyuramen has great ambiance and friendly service, but the food quality (especially the noodles and saltiness) could use improvement.

Yelp
Kyuramen have been a great experiences from selections of ramen they have, combo selections, and drinks. Enjoy their vegetable ramen made with Kale noodles. The environment and decor is beautiful, calming, and different. There are plenty of seats and during my time being here the wait time is not long and decent. The fun part is their "slurp and win," looking at the end of your bowl to see if you won a free ramen, popcorn chicken, drink, or dessert!

Yelp
At first, I learned about this place through social media. I was intrigued by the half and half ramen and the omurice. And then, one of our friends recommended it so we decided to check it out. At first glance, loved the interior design, a couple of tables had interesting setup. It was cute. We've been to this a couple times and here is my honest review. Restaurants will need a "wow factor" to attract new customers and more importantly need a "magnet" to keep customers coming back. The "wow factor" here is the half and half ramen and the unique interior. The magnet i think is the omurice. Not many restaurants do Omurice and their Omurice is not bad, I like it more than I like their ramen. Of course this is personal preference and my partner likes their ramen more. To me, I think I had better ramen elsewhere. However, other ramen places dont have as much variety, so that will also keep me coming back. This place is more expensive than other ramen places nearby. I think ramen is ~$19, whereas other places are closer to $15-16. They serve drinks from TBaar. However, to use boba shop standard for the drinks, I would not get drinks here. Got one of the more popular fruit teas and was told that the minimum sweet is 50%. And it was crazy sweet for me. so sweet that can't taste the favors of the tea. I would not recommend getting drinks. Not for the similar price tags.

Yelp
The restaurant has a parking lot. It's indoor seating. Been hearing great hype about the place with long lines so had to give it a try. Went around 3pm in the afternoon and to our pleasant surprise no line and got to be seated in the famous honeycomb seats. The interior is super cute. There was so few people my friend and I decided to have some fun with pictures. They have another special table inside what the staff said was the shape of a matcha whisk. How cute is that?! We tried the tokyo tonkatsu ramen, honeycomb platter? Amazing milk black tea, mixed berry mojito and Japanese cherry blossom jelly. My friend got the amazing milk tea unsweetened and it was great tea flavor. Disappointedly my mixed berry mojito was too sweet and I didn't think to reduce the sweetness. The ramen was good but nothing too unique given the long lines I had heard about..or maybe people hyped things up too much for me. The honeycomb platter gave you a good variety to try. And we were happy ending the meal with a dessert of Japanese cherry blossom jelly. That was very nice texture and refreshing. Apparently there is a game at the bottom of the bowl you can see if you win something which I forgot to check. Overall cute spot. Friendly staff. Nice place to hang out with friends.

Yelp
We had heard good things about this place and decided to check it out. The interior is unique, we were seated upstairs in one of the honeycomb booth. We ordered the Omurice, Honeycomb platter, and Pork Ramen. Everything was tasty, though the ramen soup wasn't quite to our preference and felt a bit pricey at $18.99 per bowl. The service was excellent, friendly staff and a short wait time even on a Sunday afternoon. Overall, we enjoyed it and will definitely be back to impress our out-of-town friends.

Yelp
Was craving some ramen as well as omurice, so my friend and I decided to give this place a try because it offers both dishes. The interior of the restaurant has an interesting and unique design. I liked the casual and laid-back ambiance. Also, the staff were attentive. We ordered the Tokyo Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen and Classic Japanese Omurice combo. The ramen tasted mediocre at best. Unfortunately, the broth was not super flavorful. As for the omurice, it was a bit underwhelming. Although the egg was soft and fluffy, it tasted pretty bland. The demi glace sauce on the side was too salty, so we decided not to use any. It's great that the combo comes with your choice of a thai tea or lemonade. The lemonade was actually pretty delicious and refreshing. Another good thing about this place is that the parking lot is decently sized and there were plenty of available parking spots when we visited during lunch hours.

Yelp
Such a well-designed atmosphere! They really put a lot of love into the interior of this place. Couldn't tell you what it feels like other than super fun - yinyang bowl - probably the thing that made them most famous, getting two types of ramen in One Bowl. For those that can't handle spicy, be careful because the tonkatsu side comes spicy even though that's now what the picture or name show 3/5 - lobster & chashu salad ball - flavor and texture explosion! Total must try 5/5 - pork tonkatsu omurice - this is more of a presentation than anything else like majority of the places I have tried even in Japan . Fun to see the omelet cut open but definitely on the bland Side 4/5 Strictly off of the food, not entirely sure I would ever come back or go out of my way but was fun to try once Pretty great and attentive service. Plenty of parking in a lot right in front

Yelp
Dined in on Sunday around noon. It wasn't busy. There were many available spaces in the parking lot. There is a separate (from the restaurant) tea bar as soon as you enter where you can order drinks and small bites to go. To the right, behind a large red lantern, is the host counter and iPad for waitlist check-in. We did not have to check in digitally since there was no wait for a table, except for when they cleaned and prepared our table in the honeycomb. We had the bottom right table. It is spacious inside the restaurant and beautifully decorated. The menu is extensive. I ordered the Ying Yang bowl with no corn. It was really delicious, and I enjoyed both soups. There were a lot of noodles. The serving portion is smaller than in other places. It seems like there are a lot of noodles to account for volume when the soup is poured. They don't give a lot of broth (even for the other ramen), and it's an additional $6 or $7 if you want extra broth. The miso ramen was good with the tempura. I didn't finish my tonkotsu shouyu soup (it wasn't too spicy, it was perfectly mild) because I was getting full. My second piece of chashu pork was a lot more fatty than my first one. Prices are above average, leaning more towards premium. Our servers were kind and provided excellent service. When the food arrived, we asked if we could turn one of the ramen orders into a combo, and they said, absolutely no problem. They have some kind of "Slurp & Win" thing for the ramen items. At the bottom of each bowl, there is a message. My dad won a free dessert for our next visit, which expires at the end of the month (or three weeks). My brother's message was something like, maybe next time (won nothing). I'm not sure if mine said anything because there's a built-in divider in the Ying Yang Bowl. , For dessert, I ordered the Japanese Cherry Blossom Jelly. On the menu picture, it's very pink, but in person, it was clear. It was more of a firm jelly, which was a bit challenging to eat with the plastic spoon. There was also a syrup which tasted like lychee. Overall, it was pretty good. What We Ordered: - Ying Yang Bowl - #1. Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu - #7B. Tonkatsu Curry Ramen - Combo - 1 Ramen with a side of Steamed Chicken Bao Bun + Thai Tea - Yakitori Platter (5 Skewers) - Matcha Tiramisu - Japanese Cherry Blossom Jelly

Yelp
Kyuraramen in Arcadia is such a hidden gem -- I'm honestly surprised it's not already packed wall to wall every night! The interior decor is adorable -- modern and cozy with a really thoughtful design. One of the first things you'll notice is the unique honeycomb-style seating, which gives you a little semi-private nook to enjoy your meal. It's not only aesthetically pleasing, but also perfect if you want a more intimate dining experience without feeling closed off. One of the most charming features is their wish tree, where guests can write their wishes or prayers on little notes and hang them. It adds such a heartwarming, personal vibe to the space -- loved reading the messages and adding our own! Now for the food -- WOW. We tried the Omurice, and it was absolute perfection. The omelet egg was light, silky, and fluffy, sitting beautifully atop flavorful chicken fried rice. You can choose between Curry Sauce or Demi-Glace -- we went with the demi-glace and it was rich, savory, and paired perfectly with the dish. It's comfort food with an elevated twist. The Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen was another winner. The broth was creamy and full of umami, with the perfect depth of flavor. The toppings were generous -- Chashu pork, half marinated egg, corn, bamboo shoots, wakame, scallions, and nori -- everything fresh and well-prepared. The pork was tender and melt-in-your-mouth good, and the egg had that perfect jammy yolk. Service was friendly and quick, and the whole experience just felt thoughtful -- from the ambiance to the food and the little interactive touches. If you're in the Arcadia area and looking for a spot that's both Instagram-worthy and legit delicious, Kyuramen is a must-visit. We're already planning our next trip back!

Yelp
Saw all the hype so we wanted to check it out. Very cool setup. Happy we got to sit in the honeycomb. Service was quick. Servers were nice. We had the YinYang bowl. Flavors were good. We also got the pork bao bun with Thai tea which were both good too. The highlight was the Omurice. This was the first time we had it & it was good. Gravy was just a tad too salty for me. But it was fun watching the execution of the omelet. It is truly a technique to be able to cook that just right. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
Kyuramen is a beautiful ramen restaurant connected to a TBaar (that you can either order at the counter or along with your ramen). The seating was so fun with elevated tables where you can get a bird-eye's view of the restaurant, alcove seating, and bars. The ramen was delicious. The chashu was so flavorful and the serving sizes were perfect! Service was super nice. No wait on a Tuesday at 11 with plenty of free parking in the medium-sized lot.

Yelp
The drinks here are pretty good, I like the strawberry yogurt drink a lot. The a lemonade is refreshing and the Thai iced tea is good too. I didn't particularly care for the snacks - the popcorn chicken isn't that crispy (it was pretty soggy actually) and it's pretty bland. As for the ramen, I enjoyed it a lot and there's a lot of options, but there's definitely better places for ramen in the SGV and in LA in general. The yuzu ramen does not compare to the yuzu shio ramen of Afuri for example. The omurice is pretty delicious and epic though. I definitely would come back for that dish. It's cool they slice it open table side and pour the demiglace on top. Love the convenience of the location and the classic ramen dishes available and I do appreciate the tea bar/boba drinks available to have with the ramen, it's nice to have so many drink options available with your meal; it does change it up a bit. I would come back for the convenience for the ramen, omurice, or for a drink, but I'd skip the snacks. There's definitely better ramen in the SGV. I'd pick Shinsengumi Ramen over this place any day.

Yelp
WOW this place is really beautiful to look at and eat at. This is the most traditionally Japanese place I've seen around here. This restaruant is known for thier ramen / omurice. You never see omurice in this area so ya KNOW ya girl got to try it out. There is a boba bar right next to it so if you craving boba or tea, its right there (Chi). Amazing vibes and such a nice area to eat. Pricing was fair and average for this type of food. Parking was good, there is a parking lot right outsde (this is why I love 626). FOOD: I got the pork tonkatsu omurice combo ($25.99), with the demiglaze sauce and the thai iced tea. Omurice (4.5/5) Oh my god where do you ever see omurice around here?? The omurice was amazing! Exactly what you expect from an omurice. The portions were sooo big. I didn't finish but its probably perfect for 2. The demiglaze it comes with was so delicous. IM A SAUCE FIENDDD so I think it woulda been better with more sauce. I ran out toward the end. The egg though was perfectly runny and went really well with the demiglaze and the rice underneath. The TONKATSU OH GOD IT WAS so good. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Dipped with the demiglaze was amAZING. Thai Iced Tea (5/5) Im a sucka for thai tea. This hit the spOT! It was soo pretty and the flavor was very good. Yinyang Bowl - $21.99 (3/5) Ok ngl come here for the omurice only. The ramen here is mid. Theres other areas for ramen if you really need. It was not BAD but its hard to differenciate between good and bad ramen. The soup was kind of bland and didnt have deeper flavors that usually show with good broth. The hot part of the bowl was kinda too hot and personally didnt hit that good. The pork was a bit hard. I think if you get this bowl, you get less ramen as well. But its a really good idea and a really pretty picture. VIBES: TBH one of the best places I've seen in terms of interior design and such. SUCH a vibe and plenty of seating. Service was also great! Next time ill definietely try the boba.

Yelp
Decided to get food after work & got here on a Thur evening for dinner & the interior design was really cool. I liked the lighting and beehive seating + wish tree as well! I ordered the Tonkatsu omurice combo w/ curry sauce & it came with a free drink. The workers were friendly and kind! I appreciated how they did a little cutting performance with the omurice and asked if we wanted to film a video of it too. Although when taking orders, they could be a little more attentive, bc my friend asked for no bamboo shoots and she still received it. Luckily she wasnt allergic, just didnt like particularly want it in her ramen. Food-wise, it missed the mark for me. I thought the omurice was very underwhelming b/c to me it lacked major flavor. Egg texture on top was good, but the fried rice underneath felt bland, I couldn't really taste any specifically differentiating, egg was bland, even the curry sauce did not have much going on..very bland as well. I used the shichimi on the table which did improve it by a bit but on its own I give it (2/5). :( The tonkatsu was okay, not the crispiest or tender I have had (3/5). The thai tea was solid though and refreshing! (4/5) They also give you a chance to win a free drink for the next time you come on specific ramen dishes. However, I would hope they try to improve the flavors in the omurice bc the potential of this restaurant is here, just needs some tweaking to the recipe.

Yelp
Went for my mother's birthday. Sat down immediately on a Sunday 6:45pm! Ordered and got our food within 15-20 minutes. Service was pretty great overall! Takoyaki (6.7/10) Bonito flakes galore!! The sauces (eel and mayo) were great and a good ratio. It was a little more undercooked than I'm used to so I bumped the rating down but it came out hot and fresh! Mega ramen (8/10) "The pork was a little fatty for my taste and the shrimp was skinny. The flavor was good though" -dad Spicy Tonkotsu ramen (8/10) "Good flavor but 8/10 because the cha siu was too fatty. It was a lot of spice for me. But I do like the ambiance" -mom Tonkotsu ramen (7/10) The cha siu was super fatty. I like it to be leaner and have more meat. The broth was really rich. I usually ask for no bamboo but I really enjoyed their bamboo. The corn was a fresh touch. Noodles were standard. I think I would've liked it cooked for 30 seconds less.

Yelp
Ambiance: very vibey, reminiscent of Japan in their own unique way. There was a torii gate, the hexagon booths felt like a capsule hotel (in a good way) and lots of Japanese American decor Service: super nice and friendly, came by to check on us, brought us extra bowls to share. They also do a promotion where if you get to the bottom of your bowl, you have the opportunity to win a free item next time (I got a free drink) Food: we ordered 3 items: tonkotsu shoyu, katsuobushi ramen and omurice with Demi glacé. The tonkotsu shoyu was deep, the garlic oil seemed built into the broth instead of just as a topping which was a nice touch! Katsuobushi was good and slightly spicy with shichimi pepper and came with thicc pork belly. The omurice was good, but wouldn't say it was my favorite

Yelp
We tried to visit when Kyuramen first opened, but the lines were insane! Since then, we actually ended up trying it in Plano, TX while visiting friends. We finally made it to the Arcadia location recently around 5pm on a Friday. There was no wait this time, though all the popular honeycomb booths were already taken. We shared the mega ramen with chashu pork and shrimp tempura, along with the tonkatsu omurice and a refreshing lemonade. The omurice was definitely the standout. It is super flavorful and we loved the pepper sauce. The ramen was just okay in comparison, and the shrimp tempura was on the smaller side. Service was friendly and efficient since it wasn't too busy. Don't forget to finish all your ramen broth as there's a chance to win something on your next visit! Parking, however, is a challenge with a tiny shared lot and limited street parking nearby.

Yelp
So my friend and I were craving some omurice.. and this place has been on my list to try for awhile so we decided to take the drive for this craving. Well thank goodness the drive was worth it. Once you walk in you feel like you are in restaurant in Japan. The decor was so cute from the seatings placement, the wishing tree and a little dining area shaped like a matcha whisk.. The service was great everyone was very friendly. Our waiter Chris was very helpful in answering all our questions . Thank you for fulfilling our craving.

If you manage to find a space to park, there may still be a wait list for this restaurant. It's new and popular! While it is very pretty inside, the staff and food were disappointing. The staff were aloof and mumbled, making it hard to hear them when asking questions about the menu. We had to wave someone down to get our check as well. I got the Katsuobushi Pork Ramen and did not find it spicy. I am not someone who can typically handle spice either. However, the meat in the dish made it downright disgusting. It was way too smoky flavored, and the pork belly was rubbery. I normally order extra meat, and I'm so glad I didn't this time! I literally had to spit out the one bite I took, it was all just fat. The broth lacked any flavor except smoke. The noodles were okay, and they were the best part of the meal. I wish they'd spent more time on quality ingredients over aesthetic honeycomb seating.

Yelp
Heads up! parking is very limited as they share the parking lot with surrounding businesses, ended up finding parking on the street. Food presentation and interior decor was 10/10 experience-- def a must visit for any food bloggers... however overall food and service could need a bit of improvement. Shared 3 items between 3 people: omurice (my fave), YinYang bowl, and matcha tiramasu. for the price, I was expecting bigger portions, but was underwhelmed with portions of the dishes and quality of food. Omurice was def the highlight of the meal, very rich and omelet was surprisingly fluffy-- definitely my favorite and a MUST to order if you're into posting on social media because the table service was very good. I was very disappointed with the YinYang ramen... not only was the broth very underwhelming and bland, but noodles tasted like instant noodles you get from packets. Would probably enjoy the ramen a little more if they added more broth as well. Of course any matcha lover would order the matcha tiramasu.. VERY heavy matcha flavor service wise- nothing too memorable. it was very obvious staff seemed overwhelmed with the volume of customers. Our server didn't check up on us until the end of the meal and we ended up not receiving one of the items we ordered (no big deal) if you haven't visited before, I would recommend people trying it out at least once. Food aside from omurice was nothing memorable and unless management improves on food I don't see myself coming back.

Yelp
tldr: all the ramen we tried was flavorful, and hit the spot. egg is jammy perfection. I think my photos did it justice B) i got the #1 tokyo tonkotsu and it might be the best i've had. not sure how authentic, but it's a no-brainer order. already craving it again. The bamboo topping was ADDICTING! and this place does chashu right. (i see other reviews saying chashu is bad, i gotta disagree...) the yin yang bowl is perfect if you can't decide between 2 broths, and the kyushu spicy tonkotsu was solid if you want heat and flavor. noodles were chewy bouncy, and satisfying. pork buns are pricey but really good. sweet bun, savory pork, great combo. the yakitori platter, though, was a skip. $18 for 5 little skewers?! idk why we ordered that. I guess our fault for being curious, so i won't be taking off a star but i do find that price ridiculous. all ramen bowls except yinyang bowl reveal a red stamp at the bottom with rewards or messages. service was fast, interior is cool and would def come back.

Yelp
I came to Kyramen x TBaar for Saturday lunch at open and was able to sit at the top of the honey comb - the exact spot I was eyeing. It was significantly less busy than the first time I visited. I got to see the beautiful view that is the restaurant itself. The wooden structures and decorations are very aesthetic. The only problem was that, at the table, the lamp shade is quite too low. I got to try a few things. The Tonkatsu Omurice plate combo with demi glaze a drink (the lemonade) was delicious. The server asked if I wanted to take a video prior to slicing the egg open. The sauce is has a deep rich taste, slightly tangy and sweet (like ketchup but different). The tonkatsu was decently sized and tasted great with the rice and sauce. The Amazing Lemonade with cucumber was mind-blowing, one of the best lemonades I've had. The perfect amount of sour, sweetness, and ice. The Yin Yang ramen bowl came with tonkatsu shouyu and miso ramen. It's the only bowl in which you may not win a "free" item if you finish the ramen bowl all the way to the base. The miso soup is spicy, and the shouyu is rich. Each side has various toppings, each serving a purpose in taste (not just decoration). The ramen truly was top notch, and I'll be back for the tonkatsu shouyu in the future. Overall, this restaurant has it all. Great service, amazing food, beautiful ambiance. I recommend anyone in the area to visit.

Yelp
The parking plaza is quite limited especially during busy times. Best to go during off hours. There is a check-in tablet. The inside is really pretty with all the wooden decor. The service was decent and the food arrived fairly quick. I got the tonkotsu shouyu ramen with the white garlic. It was just okay. I got the hint of garlic on the first bite but then the flavor dissipates thereafter. The egg was alright and gooey. The bamboo shoot was chewy enough. The chashu was okay. The ramen wasn't bad but it also wasn't memorable either. This location is worth a shot to try out. Perhaps it'll speak to someone else more.

Yelp
Kyuramen.... Where do I begin? I was done writing yelp reviews, but after eating here on a fateful wednesday I felt the need to share this little bizarre gem. This place feels like the work of japanese Dr. Strange. Bluh. Like you can sit in a super cool booth on the wall with your date or whatever. XD Also The bathroom urinal smells like skittles hahah.

Yelp
More like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up. After seeing so many photos of this place and they hype that Kyuramen generated upon opening, I was happy that I got a chance to try this place out with my friend. It definitely is trendy with its decor and the honeycomb seating that you can climb up to. We were lucky enough to be seated in the middle one. In addition to that, there's a large wishing tree in the middle of the restaurant with some cute art on some of the wishes, as well as a swing seat chair perfect for a photo op. The bathrooms were clean and I liked that the women's restroom had a sign saying that if you needed feminine products, you can always reach out to staff. Always good to see that. Service was attentive, quick, and very welcoming. On a Tuesday evening, my friend and I were seated immediately and it was easy to call over staff with the call button. i got their omurice combo with demi-glace sauce and it comes with a drink, so I opted for their Thai tea. The Thai tea was standard to what you can get at other places, nothing too much to write home about. It was nice that the staff asked first if we wanted to record them cutting open the gooey omurice (similar to what you see on those Japanese eating vlogs). You can also get some nori seaweed powder dusted on top too. Presentation was perfect, but the taste wasn't there for me. I had to dump a bunch of cayenne and shichimi powder on top to give it some taste. Much too bland for me and somehow the local maid cafe (not really known for food), makes a much richer, tastier omurice than an actual restaurant...Other than that it was at the very last filling. My friend got a fruit tea (pretty refreshing with lots of diced fruits in it) and a yin yang bowl which is a split bowl with their tonkotsu shoyu and miso ramen. Soup broth was flavorful and even a bit spicy for one of the sides. I think my next visit here, I'd definitely get a ramen instead. My other issue is the obvious AI generated slop art on the side of the building (blurred out swirl faces, weird proportions/angles of legs, etc). Like everything else looks great for the restaurant, maybe get an actual artist??

Yelp
I've been wanting to try a new ramen spot for the longest time and Kyuramen had been trending on my fyp for a while now. The restaurant truly is super cute and I love the decor that they have. Although the restaurant seems small from the outside, there actually is a lot of seating inside. We didn't sit in the fancy looking booths, but we still had a nice little table. As for the food, I was stuck between getting ramen and the omurice dish they have. I came specifically for ramen so I decide to go with that. I remember I got the spicy ramen but can't remember if it was tonkotsu. However, the ramen was alright. I wouldn't say it was mind blowing but it wasn't bad. The appetizers actually were really good. The Bao that I ordered melts in your mouth! We also got the skewers which were so good!! I would come back just for those guys. And next time I want to get the omurice dish!

Yelp
Go once for fun! the dining experience was fun and unique but because of the mid tier food, I will not be returning. The interior here is so beautiful! The honeycomb seats are creative and cute and the lighting is immaculate. My boyfriend and I waited a bit extra to sit in the honeycomb. Though pretty, the lights in the booth hang right in your line of sight so whoever you're eating with will get covered. Not sure if it was just for our booth but it did get in the way of having a conversation. The food itself did not taste amazing and was low quality, the ramen tasted like instant ramen, a bit tough and chewy in a plasticky kinda way. The soup was also just ok. The server and hostess were kind, good service overall. This place was very busy so it was a bit tough to find space in their parking spot but there are some available in the plaza

Yelp
It feels like I'm in Japan again when I walked through those doors. The ambiance in this place was just so stunning and it was giving some Japan vibes. The food as well! Cooked to perfection and made with love. This place does not disappoint. This place is a MUST DO on your TO DO list. The omelette was cooked, amazingly especially when they sliced right down the middle and the sides of the omelette just fell smoothly and just giving that perfect presentation on a plate. Service here was amazing! The employees were very sweet and welcoming when I walked through those doors. You will definitely see me here again!

Yelp
The first thing you'll notice when you walk in is the decor and layout. There was a pretty faux wooden tree with wishes (I think, too far to see) on them and there was a wall of elevated seating. Not ashamed that I was basic and went for the hyped up classic omurice combo. The demi sauce was very light, but kept my tastebuds excited throughout the whole meal. It's a shame that you have to get this as a combo with thai milk tea or lemonade. I originally wanted to get it with one of the other drinks off their menu, but the waiter told me it's only available as a combo with those two specific drinks. I opted for the thai milk tea, which was sweet and gave me that sugar I needed for the day. We also got the matcha pudding with red bean to end the meal. It was light with a bit of sweetness and really helped you finish your meal on a happy note. Also, shoutout to the server who saw that I was so enthused and almost forgot to record. He told me to get my phone out to record so I can get the pour

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday night and surprisingly, the wait was only about 10 minutes for a party of 6! The decor inside is very unique and aesthetic, but not the most comfortable in terms of seating. Our party was sat at one of those taller tables with stools, hence, there was no backing on the chair to lean back on and no hooks for us to hang our bags either. Nonetheless, it was just a minor issue that didn't bother us too much! We ordered the Classic Japanese Omurice Combo with Curry Sauce and Thai Iced Tea ($20.99). For the price, they definitely give a decent amount of food for this dish. The egg was smooth and creamy! I really liked the texture and it definitely carried the dish. The fried rice underneath was extremely underwhelming and dry. It didn't have much seasoning to it, but the thick curry sauce and egg compensated for it. The Thai Tea was sweet; no complaints there. I would give this dish a 7/10... definitely not worth the hype in my opinion. I also tried the YinYang Bowl ($21.99), which was a ramen bowl with half Spicy Tonkotsu Shoyu Broth and the other half was a Miso broth. I was really disappointed in the Spicy side of the ramen bowl because it just tasted like straight chili oil! It was way too spicy, which sadly masks the flavor of the pork broth. The miso broth didn't stand out much either. I do appreciate that they give you a lot of ingredients along with it (shrimp tempura, fish cake, bamboo, corn, chashu, soft boiled eggs). I would rate this bowl a 6.5/10 would not order it again :/ Service was great! The employees were very enthusiastic and got us our food pretty quickly. Overall, a very underwhelming experience in terms of the taste of the food. On a side note: free parking lot and street parking available!

Yelp
I have a much better experience in my following revisits to Kyuramen. The food quality is better. The cutlet was slightly thicker, and the Matcha Tiramisu was sooooo good. The ramen noodle soup is still overly salty and painful to swallow for the challenge. (Surprisingly, despite the soup being overly salty, the ramen was unaffected and still taste good) Service: As I had most problems with the service originally, I will say the service has greatly improved and the server was more attentive. They gave us time to thoroughly look through the menu instead of pushing us to order drinks this time. Still, I want to suggest that the restaurant to train the server to respond to non-designated tables. While I am unsure if this restaurant does designate tables to each server, I've caught a few servers looking away after noticing I had my hand raised. I will definitely revisit in the future.

Yelp
Great service. Nice and modern decoration infused with Japanese themes. Broth is excellent! Very concentrated bone broth with right amount of salt level without feeling overly salty nor oily. Classic Japanese Omurice was so so. Rice wasn't even hot... ramen is the way to go! The combo is plenty for two. We didn't finish. We came on a Labor Day Saturday at noon, and it wasn't buy with plenty of tables available. Restroom is spacious and clean with a few stalls inside the female side.

Yelp
Service 5/5-all staff were so nice and very attentive Ambiance- love the honey comb seating were so cute and very aesthetically pleasing. Food- we had popcorn chicken, pork tonkatsu omurice (omg the egg was perfectly cooked), black garlic tonkatsu shoyu ramen was the best!!! The meat was so soft and perfectly charred. The soup base is very tasty and the black garlic adds a depth in flavor!!!! Will be back again

Yelp
Service: There's a button to call your server, pay your bill, and to order food. Parking: Very small parking lot with one opening to enter and exit. This parking lot is very popular because Paris Baguette is also next door. I would compensate 5-10 mins to find a parking space. Strawberry Pina Colada Smoothie: I would say to drink this within the 2 hours because it's made with fresh fruit. If it's past the 2 hours, the drink will taste sweeter because the fruit and the liquid layers will separate. Highly recommend getting this for your summer drink. Peach Green Tea W. Milk Foam (75% sugar, 75% ice, crystal boba): Milk foam tasted on the cheesy side. Peach green tea was refreshing throughout. Yingyang Bowl: I would get this dish to taste the spicy tonkatsu broth and regular miso at a light amount. The spicy tonkatsu was a bit more on the salty side for me, but the miso tasted great. The toppings were great all around. I love the crispiness of the shrimp tempura. Tokyo Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen (black garlic): Black garlic makes the broth taste fermented and roasted. This is a great dish to get for well well-rounded flavor.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday just before noon and we were seated within 5mins of arriving. The space was open and lively. All the staff was super attentive but not in an annoying way. My friend ate here during their soft opening and had comments about the wait previously, so she felt the improvement since then. We joked about wanting to start a tally on how many times they'd come by to check on us. The food was well prepared and IMO the perfect amount. All of it was delicious: purple potato fries, pork ramen and chicken ramen. We were too busy catching up on life that we left and forgot to try their desserts but will be back to try them next time.

Yelp
Kyuramen near Arcadia definitely stands out for its aesthetic and atmosphere. The honeycomb-style seating is super cool and gives it a modern, cozy feel. Since the slots were filled but it wasn't too busy, the staff kindly let us sit in the private seating which felt like a treat on its own. The service was a solid 10/10 super friendly and accommodating the whole time. As for the food: the ramen was decent, nothing mind-blowing but comforting and satisfying. I also tried the omurice a generous portion, and I liked that the rice had little bits of meat, though I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce. One fun bonus: if you finish your ramen, you get to play a little mini-game for a random prize, and we ended up winning a free dessert, which was a nice surprise! If you're looking for a cool place to hang out with great service and good portions, this is a solid choice. Just don't come expecting the best ramen ever but the overall experience makes up for it.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday and there were plenty of seats. The interior really caught my eye - matcha whisk, decorative wall seating, ceiling, a wishing tree, Torii gate, and so much more. You can honestly tell a lot of thought went into the design. My boyfriend and I ordered the Katsuobushi Ramen and the Pork Cutlet Omurice, which also came with Thai tea. The ramen was flavorful. The noodles and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the meat was tender with not much fat attached, LOVE. I'm OBSESSED with the idea of hiding a prize at the bottom of the bowl to encourage people to finish the broth. Honestly, such a fun and smart idea. I did wish that the prize we won lasted a bit longer since we had to be back within the following month. The price for this was a bit on the higher end, but I guess that made up for the variety and the amount of toppings given. As for the Omurice, the presentation was fun to watch, but the flavor wasn't anything special. I was more disappointed by the cutlet because it was super soggy. The batter didn't stay on and just slid right off, leaving the pork with a weird, pale, gritty outer texture. Overall, I really love the concept of this place. The food could use some improvement but the decorations and the prize made the experience memorable. Staff were friendly and attentive, though it would be nice if they were a bit more knowledgeable with the menu. Parking was easy.

Yelp
Very clean and lots of seating! I really liked the little huts we were seated at and the interior design. Came on a weekday and there wasn't much of a wait. One of the servers weren't too happy when taking our order but the staff that seated us and served our omurice were all very kind. I ordered the pork tonkatsu with curry sauce and bf got the Demi glace sauce. Both combos came with a choice of Thai Tea or Amazing lemonades (homemade with added syrups). For $25.99, the combo is a bit on the pricier side and I would've liked to have the option without being a combo, but the presentation was really nice! The rice under the egg was typical rice with diced onions and chicken bits, nothing really special. Their pork tonkatsu was very crispy but a bit too dry and chewy. The egg was fluffy and yummy and thai tea was really good!! I prefer the curry sauce over the glaze (had a more sweet soy and cinnamon taste). Pretty good place for your omurice and Thai tea fix! They also have a TBaar inside if you want to order more drinks. If you order ramen, there's a prize at the bottom of your bowl - but I have yet to try next time!

Yelp
Place was pretty clean and looked great. Points for creativity and aesthetics. Service was good but seemed inexperienced. Food took a while to come out, though. I ordered the split bowl which I found was pretty interesting and a nice way to try two different things. The amount of food was perfect, and a few elements were done okay, but not great. I had half a jammy egg which was delicious, and and another half that was solid.. Seemed weird. Overall quality was decent, but again, not great.

Yelp
First off, the service was excellent! The servers were very kind and welcoming! The parking was a little hard to find; it was packed and small. The ambiance was charming and aesthetically pleasing. A great place to take a date or even eat with your family! The ramen was great. It had a unique flavor for me and leaned into Chinese flavors ( in a good way). Overall, the ramen was great! When I went, it also had a promotion where if you drink all the soup, at the end of the bowl, you win a free dessert, appetizer, etc. on your next visit. However, the soup was a little heavy, making it difficult to drink compared to traditional ramen. We got the katsuobushi pork ramen, Tokyo tonkatsu ramen, Sapporo miso ramen, and Kyushu spicy ramen. The Sapporo miso ramen was the best for me, as the broth was light. I highly recommend the tiramisu match cake! It was to die for.

Yelp

Yelp
We got a good table, inside the booth area. We had Karage and Ramen. The service was was fast and efficient. The area is very clean. It's a newly open Ramen place and as soon as we are done eating around 12:30 there was already a line waiting to be seated.. The food was fresh ingredients were amazing. I would recommend friends to try this new hype place and try their food. Ambience would take you to a Japanese anime, kind of vibe. Good luck to the management and owners of the restaurant. I hope you succeed and and establish a good following for your business. Five stars for this restaurant.

Yelp
Had this place bookmarked for a while too and finally stopped by. Ordered their popular (1) Tonkotsu Shouyu Ramen & YinYang Bowl. The YinYang bowl comes with half Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen and half Miso Ramen. Both dishes were good and had flavorful broths. Very cute interior decor and seating layout. Nice and friendly service. Offer complimentary hot tea and iced water. They're located in a lil plaza off the intersection of Las Tunas Dr., Live Oak Ave, & Santa Anita Ave. They're in the same plaza as Starbucks.

Yelp
As much as I like ramen I have to say, nothing special here. The broth was just okay, the noodles not what I expected. Service on the other hand was very good. The biggest draw walking in was the decor, I thought for sure it would match the food taste and quality. Not sure i'd come back even with a coupon for a free appetizer that we received when we paid the bill.

Yelp
Food was mediocre. Sat at the honeycomb tables because we came right when the restaurant opened. I can say the ramen noodles were not chewy and texture was off. The broth was ok. Nothing special. The omurice was decent paired with the Demi glace sauce. The popcorn chicken was alright. Prefer the Taiwanese popcorn chicken that is crispy outside. The bottom of our ramen bowl said free dessert so we got a card saying the next time we visit we can claim a free dessert to end the meal. It's a nice way to keep lure customers back but if the quality of the food is not up to standards even if it's a small gimmick it's not worth it to come back just for a free dessert. I am not saying the food was bad. It was "ok" but I think there are better options out there.

Yelp
I tend to want to try out businesses I see on social media, and I had been longing to try omurice, so Kyuramen had me where it wanted me in a marketing standpoint. The service is very good-- very friendly and helpful servers. The inside decor felt very modern and cool. Our table was elevated, requiring us to climb stairs to sit in a hexagonal nook in the wall-- really cute, but also hyper visible. I love okonomiyaki and will order it whenever I can. The okonomiyaki here was tasty (and silently urged me to book a ticket to Japan). The omurice was special-- I had been seeing videos of it for years but only now got to finally try it. The server did the cutting and sauce pouring for us, something we did not expect. We wanted to do it ourselves, but they (the corporate entity of the restaurant) know that we also want to video record the cut of the omelette, so maybe they just do it on our behalf so we can more easily film. The desserts were nice, light. The cherry blossom jelly features a real cherry blossom that I of course ate. The matcha pudding with red bean was also fun to eat. Each came with a sweet sauce to pour.

Yelp
Really beautiful interior! Food was a bust for me and my partner. Neither of us liked our ramen or the chicken. The foods flavorings were really overpowering - like the ramen tasted way too strongly of garlic and the chicken tasted too strongly of five spice... We didn't enjoy our food here but the servers were very nice and the decor was lovely. Maybe I'd come back to try their omurice, but definitely not their ramen.
