Kyuubi Sushi Omakase

I recently dined at Kyuubi and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the tone for a delightful evening. The minimalist decor, combined with soft lighting, created a serene and inviting atmosphere. The fish is sourced daily, ensuring that every bite is as fresh as possible. The rice was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of vinegar to complement the delicate flavors of the fish. The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering insightful recommendations and answering all my questions with a smile. They made me feel welcomed and ensured that my dining experience was top-notch.

I had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and overall very fun. The ambiance was exciting and inviting, perfect for a relaxing or a party meal. The sake gets everyone loose! We had a celebration with friends and we got to take shots with the chef! Each dish was beautifully crafted and delicious, you could tell they use fresh ingredients and amazing flavors. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the whole experience was, especially considering the quality of the food and service. If you're looking for great sushi omakase at a reasonable price, this place is definitely worth a visit!

The best affordable omakase in the city! Each of the pieces are incredibly fresh, and their uni is as sweet as $250pp omakases I’ve been to. It’s a fantastic option if you want a more affordable omakase dinner, and offers plenty of high quality premium add-ons if you want to splurge. Their cancellation policy is also very understanding—I had to cancel same day two times due to different illnesses, and they had no problem applying my cancellation fee to my next visit. Highly recommend stopping by!!

My friend was in town and she wanted to eat at an omakase place. This place really hit the spot. For 68 dollars you get the perfect number of courses and you can repeat any number of them a la carte. The fish was super fresh, the combos that the chefs came up with were also delicious... My group of friends really enjoyed our experience at kyuubi omakase and we'd definitely love to come back again!

We came right when Kyuubi just opened on a Tuesday evening and we were extremely happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. Everything was carefully prepared by the chef for our omakase course. It was amazing coming here. I would highly recommend this omakase to everyone.

We booked an omakase not knowing what to expect. We were blown away by the quality of the sushi and freshness of their fish. Service was above and beyond. They served the best madai that I've ever experienced in my life.

Every piece was amazing and you got all the best fish! Madai, scallop, sweet shrimp with uni, ikura, chu toro, o toro with caviar, ell with foi gras and truffle AND MORE! SO SO SO GOOD!!! Amazing food in a nice low key restaurant in the East village. It's imperative to get there on time Mouth watering sushi. The Otoro Fatty Tuna was torched and sprinkled with gold dust and caviar. Since it was my birthday, they made me a special sushi dish with a candle. Simply wonderful!

Omakase set included 1 appetizer, 11 nigiri, 1 handroll at the end. My favorites were the Madai (sea bream) nigiri, the Otoro caviar (fatty tuna topped with caviar). SO much flavor with the Otoro!, and the Sake (King Salmon, that had a spicy topping). I was really impressed with the majority of the nigiri pieces, and there were none that I disliked! I'm not usually a fan of sea urchin but their Botan Uni (shrimp/sea urchin) nigiri was actually delicious and a great texture. Service - We were surprised that we were the only diners that evening on a Thursday night. We had good service. There was one sushi chef and one other staff member who checked in on us to see if we wanted drinks or any add-ons. The sushi chef was working FAST (almost too fast), because we were done with our meal and out of there after 32 minutes after being seated! I wished the sushi chef had worked a teeny bit slower, so we were able to savor each of the pieces more, and spend more time there overall. I tried to talk to the sushi chef a bit, as I've had great conversations with other sushi chefs in the past, but this chef wasn't as talkative- that's ok! Ambiance - I'd call this a quaint omakase restaurant that has only counter seating. (I can't say it's too distinctive from other omakase restaurants!)

Absolutely stellar omakase experience. Place only has like 16 seats and we were the only 8 in there on a Saturday night. Super great service and all the bites were exceptional. Super great value at $68 for 13 "courses" and we went for some add-ons as well. Love it. Easy reservation and really top overall birthday dinner.

I always love coming here it's one of my favorite lowkey sushi in the city. The staff is always kind and consistently updating the menu. It's always a 10 out of 10

My friend and I stumbled upon Kyuubi and their $68 omakase in East Village and decided to go day of. This restaurant is brand new, so at 8 pm, I was one of only 4 patrons, making for an extra intimate experience. I think there are some kinks to work out, making for a bit of an imbalanced experience. My favorite piece was the unagi, topped with foie gras and truffle. My friend deemed the truffle overpowering the others, but I'm always less of a fish purist and really enjoy multiple flavors and textures paired together -- and it works in this case. On the second piece, the chef applied wasabi a little too liberally, and after my eyes pooled, the chef took note the reduced the amount. The otoro caviar arrived with a flashy display of gold dazzled across the dish. The chef was sweet and gave me an extra spritz for me to record. Sadly, I pulled out a cartilage or thin bone chip as I went through the otoro. The final piece was the toro hand roll, which fell flat. It was a bit bland and came across as mushy fish. I also was surprised they didn't end the omakase experience with a sweet treat -- luckily there are ample dessert spots in East Village to satisfy that craving, but I think I would've taken dessert over this toro hand roll.

Kyuubi Sushi Omakase is a hidden gem! The food is INCREDIBLE and at $68 for 13 courses the value is also unmatched. The service was great. I loved being able to see all the dishes being prepared in real time. Cannot wait to return!

We had the most delicious omakase meal. The fish was such high quality. We enjoyed every piece (usually at more expensive places there's always one or two we dislike). Our sushi chef (Ethan) and host (Zoe) were attentive and friendly. They shared with us where the fish was sourced from and answered every question. Overall, what a delightful meal at a great value. As an anniversary treat, they gave us extra fish with a candle (much preferred to a dessert). Can't wait to go back.

The ambiance is unpretentious, the staff friendly, and the food exceptional. The principle of elegance is evident in every bite. A perfect meal. We will be back regularly.

Fantastic new Omakase in East Village. Great service from sushi chef and team. Food was so good 13 pieces for $68. You can't beat eel with fois gras and truffle or fatty tuna with caviar and gold flakes all on the standard menu!! We also did +30 add on for two additional fish pieces, wagyu and glass of sake. Last but not least got this great sushi cake as it was my birthday. Highly recommend.
